Physical Description
Strictly speaking, Shen's true form is a giant black predatory bird with a ring for a head filled with purple energy swirling inside like some strange black hole. Roughly the size of an average freight ship, he lives in an asteroid field far enough away from Cancer and Edanith that it's rare to get ships out there to pester him. When they do he tears them to shreds with his massive talons.

But you can't always wander through life as an astronomically large headless bird. So sometimes he appears in the form of a deep purple humanoid, with that same strange ring for a head and the purple energy void within. If you throw things through the hoop they disappear into the portal and don't come back out the other side. It isn't recommended though, because usually a portal will just appear behind you so the thing you threw hits you in the back of your own head. So don't be rude.

When he needs to be conveniently small and NOT utterly terrifying, ie to blend in, he appears in the form of a man with dark brown skin and black hair that's shaved on both sides of his head, leaving a mulberry-dyed tuft at the top. His ears are pointed, lobes stretched with golden plugs. His face is covered in gold tattoos, some of which extend down his body. He's built like a brick house--big and b u f f. His eyes are a deep black with irises that aren't really there; they're swirling purple voids of energy.

Personality
Shen is a simple-minded, partially bird-brained fellow who just lives a simple life out in his asteroid field. He likes to be left alone, and sometimes when he's the bird for too long he kind of forgets how to people. He's quite territorial of what he considers his, be it an asteroid or a person, he is a strongly protective bird man.

He can be a little awkward at first and isn't too up-to-date on traditional social practices; he'll forget to introduce himself in first meetings, and usually thoughtlessly skips over how-do-you-dos in favor of cutting right to the chase. If there is no chase, expect an awkward silence. A conversationalist he is not.

But when he sets his sights on something or becomes intrigued, his curiosity and impetuous nature will often get the best of him and sometimes get him into trouble that was otherwise easily avoidable. He likes shiny things and pretty boys.

Magic/Abilities
Spacial Manipulation-
Shen has total and complete control of space in its purest form; he's able to warp space and create portals, wormholes, pocket dimensions, and all other manner of strange spacey things. The bigger the thing the harder it is for him to manage, but at this point he can manage his powers quite easily and with shocking precision. He can teleport people by opening portals for them or by touching them and sending them outright, which gives the appearance of the person poofing into a cloud of purple energy. It's more of a defensive power than offensive when it comes to combat, but he can use it in surprisingly creative ways when push comes to shove; like punching someone and using the moment of physical contact to send them through space and dimensions like a glitched character in a video game. Pchooooo.

Teleportation-
Using his spacial manipulation he is also able to teleport himself as well as others to anywhere he can picture in his minds' eye, though he gets most precision by going to places he's been to before.

Basic Telepathy-
Shen can read minds or rather "see thoughts." He can also communicate with the minds of anyone in the nearby vicinity, but usually chooses not to unless if he knows the person he is talking to.

Relationships

History
Shen was born thousands of years ago in some unknown part of the galaxy to a goddess mother who looks nothing like him and is just as mysterious as he is. It's from her that he got his powers and learned how to control them. He isn't sure if he would be classified as a god or a demigod, but he suspects the latter, though he is immortal and doesn't age.

He's a bit of an introvert to begin with, so he hasn't bothered with mortals much throughout his existence; he found his homes in asteroid fields too dangerous to be explored, and when those brave enough do venture too close he tends to keep the legends of peril going by destroying any ships that get too far in to escape him. His part of the galaxy is largely avoided by any regularly space-faring folk as a result; the average sailor values their life over adventure in a dangerous asteroid field.

The ships, once destroyed, he has found make great scrap material, and so this is his also his main source of income; every now and then he'll pop into existence in a scrapyard on some space station or planet, sell all the goods he teleports in, takes his money and disappears without so much as a trace.

What does he use the money for? Grocery shopping and home renovations on his main asteroid.
