Like Finding a Needle in a Haystack (Bris, Lilu)

((I apologize in advance if this is too long. I like to write. ))

He was stretched out atop the water tower again, snoring his life away and Bri quietly swore to high heaven that once she reached the top, that she was probably going to push her stupid lazy off the tower just for making her climb so high! She always found him up here an hour after noon sleeping even though he knew he had other chores that needed to be done.

Once she reached the top, she kicked his shoulder. "Wake up! You're supposed to help me clean the stables!"

Bryant sat up immediately and rubbed his eyes, " Ow! You didn't have to kick me!"

"Well , that's what you get for making me climb this dumb tower to come get you for fifth time this week ! If you'd stop trying to sneak away from your responsibilities, I wouldn't have to hurt you!"

Bryant wrinkled his nose at the thought of having to clean the stables. He used to be able to get out of it, but now that his sister had grown up she just wasn't that nice anymore! He sighed and grabbed his hat, fitting it over the messy mop that was his hair, "Give me a break, sis. I'm tired. Can't you just give me a couple hours. Why don't you ask Har-"

"You get your skinny butt down that ladder and march yourself to the stables right NOW or I'm telling pa!"

Now that got Bryant up on his feet and moving for the ladder. "Alright, alright! I'm going!"

Bri smirked.Mentioning their father always made her brother move twice as fast!

At midday, Siorus was quite bustling but compared to most towns it was quite small and its population just barely broke a thousand people. Most of the people worked from dawn until dusk, shaping and nurturing the land , breathing life into it with the help of the government's terraforming technology and with the aid of the mages's magic to power the technology.

"You're the meanest sister in the galaxy. Just so you know that. I should probably warn the whole town about how mean you are, " Bryant stuck his tongue out his sister as they walked together side by side through town.

Bri rolled her eyes at him, "Oh, stop being such a drama king. "

They reached the family's farmstead and wandered over the stables where the horses , cows and a goat were kept. Bri grabbed her brother's arm and pulled him a step back.

Frowning , he looked at her, "What's wrong?"

"I don't remember leaving the door open." She told him with a frown.

Bryant shrugged and tugged his arm free with a laugh, " You probably just forgot- woah! What the-!?" He saw a shadow in the doorway. "Pa? Ma? " That silhouette that had passed by the doorway didn't look about the right size to be either of them.

"Dammit! Maybe it's Billy or one of the boys playing another prank on us. Well, I'll teach them not to mess with us!" And then, in the loudest voice possible he announced, "Alright you little punks! I'm comin' in there and when I catch ya, I'm gonna whoop your asses from here all the way to the capital! " He stormed through the doorway and into the stable.

((If you've ever seen an old US Western town, that's pretty much what Siorus is. Also, I don't mind if Robbie or Tuesday is the 'shadow' that Bryant thinks he sees in the stables. If not, it's okay! I have an alternative idea ready just in case. <3  Feel free to appear in Siorus however you like! ))

The drop to insertion would be quick and efficient, utilising orbital drop technology to bring Robbie to the surface of the planet. There would be more preparation if the being inside wasn't made of self repairing alloys, with nanobot filled tubing in case of permanent damage to the outer plates.

Robbie had uploaded three new modules, a scene construction module, which would allow him to reconstruct crime scenes in hologram form, to allow for more detailed views of the crime scene as evidence was added. There was also a new multi target sorting module, which allowed for facial recognition and feature sorting, as if it were a game of Guess Who. And finally, he had a new shield cycling module, which put the shield at a cycle rate which allowed him protection from most conventional weapons of older design, like those he would encounter in this town.

The drop was pretty noisy, and he entered the atmosphere at hypersonic speeds, causing several explosions to resound as the sonic booms occurred, before his pod his the floor, and a large shockwave shook the ground for about 3 miles around as the kinetic energy that would have crushed the pod under it's own weight was redirected back into the ground.

The townspeople had panicked, most hiding in their homes. Siorus' furthest structure would have heard the message which was transmitted across the town by specialised sound waves that were designed to only resonate in the ears of a living organism.

"Attention citizens of the town known as Siorus.
This is a warning to all citizens."

The pod containing Robbie began to shift, with rods and parts moving, as Robbie stepped out, armed to the teeth in plasma and energy weapons. When the pod had finished changing shape, an orb appeared round it, before another beam of shielding projected into the air, where it formed a dome around the town, stretching further than the farthest structure.

"A dangerous criminal is hidden among you.
Do not panic.
The shielding around town cannot be traversed.
Do not attempt to leave town.
A constant message will be played around the town to any who wish to enter warning them of the shield.
Please provide your co-operation to Robbie, our ground agent.
He has permission to kill those who present a threat to him.
He will kill the criminal upon discovery, and any who conspire to protect said criminal.
Do not resist Robbie, as we understand that your town relies on trade to provide the majority of food, and the shield has also cut off your communications outside of town.
This was a message from Gorgon Bounty Hunters.
Thank you for listening."

Robbie stepped through the shield, and began to speak.

"Do not be alarmed. Provided with full co-operation I calculate that I will be able to find the criminal in..." Robbie paused as the calculation finalised.

"6 weeks, 3 days." The news sounded good, but the town likely did not have enough food for that long without the outside world.

"It must be noted that the shield will remain active until the search is completed and the target is identified as dead." Robbie took a few steps forward before the sound of a gunshot resounded, coinciding with a loud metal clang as the bullet struck the metal of Robbie's outer plating.

"Hostile identified. Eliminating." The rifle was raised instantly, and a beam of energy appeared, vaporising the man who had shot at Robbie.

"Hostility will be met with death."

Tuesday was going about one of her usual exploration when she spotted a farm. Her stomach grumbled as she looked upon it. Hopefully there would be some sort of food in there. Maybe apples or carrots; she would even go for some cow's milk. However, she was hesitant due to the two people he saw near the place. If they spotted her, it probably wouldn't end well for Tuesday.

Her stomached growled in protest. Grasping her aching stomach, she decided to take a quick look around. If she was quick enough, she would be able to steal some food and get out before the two people noticed. Making up her mind, Tuesday snuck into the barn as quietly as possible and began looking around for something to eat.

Unfortunately, she didn't get to have a good look around. She suddenly heard voices coming from the door she accidentally left open. Tuesday gasped and looked around frantically for somewhere to hide. She chose jumping into the hay pile near the back of the stables. Hopefully they didn't see her. She stayed as quiet as possible as they came in.
