Aedolis Available Ranks
« on: February 09, 2011, 04:16:00 pm »
A quick list of the current leaders and any open slots, for easy finding. ;D Click on the location name for more information on the setting, and remember that you are not necessarily limited to just what you see here. :3

Ranks that are always open and can be filled by an unlimited number of characters are colored and marked with an *asterisks* like so.  Individual characters for these ranks will not be listed here.

If a position requires approval, it will state so.  Otherwise, feel free to claim it right away!

Aedolis has overtaken and controls much of the Earth. Aedolis's government is a stratocracy, in which the military and the government are one and the same. Biomechanical dragons and their bonded Pilots rule over the nation and control the Network, that which connects to, controls, and gathers information from every digital system and device in Aedolis.

There is little poverty, and the people are paid well and encouraged to indulge themselves. Hedonism and pleasure are seen as healthy, and Aedolis society believes that anything that makes you happy, gives you pleasure, and harms no one is good and should be celebrated. The people live within mega metropolisis, protected from the elements and the harsh wasteland radiation by electromagnet domes. Most of these cities are built to rise rather than sprawl, and buildings are rarely fewer than two hundred stories tall. Most citizens use public transportation.

RANKS

Pilot Imperial
*Pilot Royals*
  • Only after years of exemplary service and unblemished record might a Pilot achieve this rank.  Royals are second in power only to the Imperial.  Most Imperials are chosen from the Royal ranks when it comes time to fill that position. Characters of this rank should be in their mid-to-late thirties at least.
*Pilot Nobles*
  • Pilots with an impressive record of service and several years behind them can aspire to Noble rank.  Imperials are occasionally chosen from this group. Characters of this rank should be at least in their late twenties.
*Pilot Echoes*
  • The second largest group in terms of number of Pilots.  Echoes enjoy more power and perks than Cardinals, but also gain more responsibility.
*Pilot Cardinals*
  • Cardinals make up the majority of Pilots.  All Pilots begin at this rank and are promoted or not based on merit and years served.
*Pilot Candidates *
  • Click above for more information. All psychics in Aedolis are drafted into Pilot training, an intensive military program that takes years to complete.  Success means joining the ranks of the most powerful people in Aedolis.  Failure means a one-way trip to TRIM as a test subject.
*Soldiers*
  • Aedolis boasts the largest standing army in the known universe.  Officers and soldiers of all ranks and professions are always available for play. They can be stationed all throughout Aedolis as well as in space, working within Aedolis's growing fleet.
*Citizens*
  • Aedolis is populated by millions of unique, strange, and interesting people, ranging from high caste to low caste.  The population of its cities is so great that it is impossible to exact the kind of complete control Aedolis seeks to maintain, and opportunity for contraband and small-time illegal business is everywhere. Black market chips are a lucrative trade for anyone brave enough to take advantage.
