Motorailers In School? Blasphemy (Open to Motorailers!)

Makani stood in a line with the rest of the students in her age group. Her hair was done up in a tight bun as she stood in the rather boring camo pants and brown wife beater. She had a scratch across her cheek from a recent fall through a course. They were going to dismiss them for the night and she'd have to go back to one of the rooms they had given her.

Not everyone got a room, but her the girl from the streets had gotten one. She should be happy right? Then why did she feel caged and trapped? She hated this military bullshit. She had been born with a severe authority problem. It might have been the reason she was on the streets now, or had been before all of this. She kept her face straight though as the person in charge of their group spoke, only sneering every so often.

The only thing she liked about this place was that they had let them drive four wheelers. It was one of the few things she had an attitude of actual excitement about. Riding those was like feeling free, she'd never gone that fast in her life. She felt like it was just her the four wheeler and a long road of dirt. Not these other students around her, none of the people telling her what to do. It felt good, perfect.

Then the commanding officer told them that they had to go another round through the exercise course, they'd been looking sloppy today. Makani felt a twitch in her eye and a slight hiss in her mouth. She held the hiss in.

"Now get moving!"

At least they could talk during drills.
