"No, just uh...I dont know..." What was he thinking it would be? Regardless of his intentions, they knew eachother for what, ten minutes? A date would be too soon. Its like asking a random person to move in with you, no reasons given.

"Its ok if you have plans." he said, knowing that chances were good he just made things awkward.

'They need to teach this kind of stuff in the academy...' Vedrit thought to himself. Its not like he knew what to do in these kinds of situations. It was way out of his comfort zone, and was sure that, as they talked, a blush was blooming on his face.

"Oh! Don't get uncomfortable." She waved as free hand at him while the other was still around the dragon's neck. She felt bad now, she didn't mean to make him nervous. Oops.

"The blush is adorable though." She chuckled not at him, just at the situation. Her laugh was warm as she did.  She liked people who got nervous, well not constantly, that would get annoying. She liked people who were real, sometimes people get nervous and it shows.

"I was just checking! Anyway, I was just gonna hang around and play this all night." She pointed towards the front of the line. "I can always put that off a night though."

Vedrit shrugged "To be honest, I've not visited this map before." he said, doing his best to ease atleast his discomfort. These were the kidns of situations that made him wonder why he ever leaves his quarters or ship. He was never any good when talking to the opposite gender in person. Anything else and he's fine.

"Well, its not like either of us are going anywhere for a while. No need to put off your plans of 10-hour straight gaming for a drink with a stranger." he said, then added "That actually sounds like a very bad idea." after he thought for a moment with a smirk.

"See if I had known I was going to be having a mini party in the line I would have brought my flask. Then we could have done both." She smiled wide then frowned. She should have brought it, even if she was coming to buy the game by herself. It would have made the wait in line much easier. Luckily she had someone to talk to so her time was better occupied then staring into space.

"That would have been a damn good idea." She pouted slightly then turned back towards him.

"Oh well, ya can't win em all. As military you think I'd be prepared for any situation."

Shrugging, Vedrit put his hands in his pockets.
"Again, not like either of us are going anywhere. Neither is the game. If you want to go for drinks after this line party, its up to you." he said as they moved up a step or two.

"Atleast you had plans. I was going to wander the station until something better to do comes up. Which it did." he said with another smirk, wondering now if he was being too flirtatious. He should have thought about the distinct possibility of her being with someone.

"Very true. At least I'm better than wandering around blankly." She smiled up at him. She was contemplating going and getting drinks with the guy. She just didn't want to send the wrong messages, she was rather occupied with Vin. Most of her mind was. The guy did say though that it wasn't a date...

Oh jeez.

It used to be easy to interact with people, now things had all these other meanings to them.

"Well, we'll see if we still like each other when the end of the line comes." She grinned, hiding the uncertainty in her mind. She hated not knowing where she stood with people.

"Yeah, wandering blankly isnt much fun." he replied, even though thats what he often did when on-station. Man, he needed to find a hobby or two.

Vedrit chuckled "Ah, one of the many forms of line tests. Very well. I meet your challenge." he said dramatically.

If there was one good thing of this meeting, its that Vedrit was learning how he tries to lighten the mood. Jokes. Very wierd

They were getting closer, but still so far. She started to tap a foot, she always had the problem of sitting still, she always fussed with something. Probably from the hours spent tapping or the hyper awareness of having to fly Mitty.

"So you ever play any video games?" Aryte seemed to be finding her hobbies very limited with how interesting people found them. When you didn't get out much besides people in the 77s and then gamers you had a fairly limited conversation deck to pull from. I mean, the conversations:

'What armor would you wear in this resistance fight?'

'Did you see how bad that patched nerfed us? Those fuggin noobs.'

'That damn bug man, I could tell you what I'll do the next time we come across him'.

They were just ones you couldn't have with anyone, especially a random person you meet that you don't know much about.

Vedrit shrugged "I keep my head in the 'whats happening', but Im very picky about what I play, though I get in on a lot of betas. I have played some very good games that died becuase they were overlooked." he said, "And I have played some horrid games that were over-hyped."
Gaming was a topic he approached carefully in conversation. He had met too many people that got lost easily in his geek-talk. Oh the worlds the people didnt know about.

"Its obvious you play games, but what genre is your favorite?"

Her eyes went wider with happiness. Maybe they could carry on a conversation! This would be awesome! She squeezed the dragon a little tighter as he talked. She understood him now, and had some responses! This would work much better than searching endlessly for things they might, maybe, possibly have in common.

"Well, I spend the most time playing this game on the computer." She motioned to the event around them. Probably more time than was healthy but that wasn't necessary to share...not at all.

"When I hit the console I like some survival horror, very different sort of genre." She smiles wide at him.

"I just love turning the lights out and being scared out of my wits. Have you played Biojolt? that's one of my favorites. Very original."

"Like I said, Im picky about what I play. I heard a lot about that one, some good, little bad, mostly fan-obsession. But you get that with just about every game out there. I dont own a console, really. I'll play a friends console, co-op ofcourse, but I much prefer computer. Demons and Danger is a good one, a remake of a really, really old game. I've actually been tempted to try and put to gether a game while on long flights." Vedrit said, not noticing he was rambling on. He did that, sometimes. Rarely, actually. Neh.

"Not big on being scared. The 'horror movies' are more gore than scare, and the games are more 'fear whats in the dark'." he added, trying not to talk as much. Some people would think it wierd, but he thought it was abnormal for him to talk so much.
"So, fantasy and horror are top two favorite genre?"

She smiled as he spoke. She was so used to being the one rambling on that when she wasn't she enjoyed it.

"I think I've played that before." She tapped her finger on her chin as she thought and he continued speaking. "Yeah, long flights are killer sometimes. I generally take my handheld." She stopped for a second realizing again what a dork she was.

"Yeah if I had to pick, I mean fighting games are fun, but I wouldn't say Fantasy completely. Maybe just rpgs. I suck hard at shooters. Makes sense though, it's probably why I'm not a gunner." She smiled and shook her head for a second.

((Sorry its been so OMFG long '-_- ))

Vedrit chuckled, "Some people can shoot, some cant. Its just one of those things. Just like how I cant stand the so-called "real-life sims". If I wanted to play real life, I'd go do something, you know?" he didnt mind being a complete geek, since she was too.

"Who knows, we might even play the same games and not know it." he said with a smirk, the line moving up one, measly person.

She grinned at him being free with his geekyness. She liked meeting other people who could relate. There weren't that many.

"Maybe we do play the same games!" she squeezed onto the plushie as she stroked her chin with the other hand.

"We should play games sometime. It's hard to find people around here who like to play to be honest....or they aren't creepy and amazed I'm a girl who plays games." She looked at some of the people as she whispered the last part, like some of them would realize her gender suddenly.

"If the guy is cute I don't mind the amazement but sometimes..." She trailed off and made a face. She wasn't one to judge on outside appearance, she had fairly obvious reasons for that. She was talking more about the open staring, the bad pick up lines. The idea that she didn't really enjoy gaming or "understand" it because she had boobs.

Vedrit nodded "We should. I'm not a fan of running around doing quests alone, so its always good to have someone who would be happy to party with me." he agreed, already making plans in his head.

"Well, its a little understandable. Being locked-in-their-room geeks, the closest they get to women is making a female character. Meeting a real woman in person would be like meeting a real dragon. Add on that you play games, and, well...I'll put it this way; their pants just get tighter." Vedrit himself had a taste of that. During his younger years, he would sometimes not leave his room for days, except to answer the call of nature. The military and being a pilot has, thankfully, gotten rid of that quirk.

"Cute, huh?" Vedrit chuckled, "There are always exceptions, eh?" he teased, gently poking her with his elbow

She grinned, they should really have business cards that listed character names, server names, level, class and things like that. It would help at events like these. It would be much easier to find compatible people for parties. Aryte was about to voice that opinion but...she realized how dorky that whole idea was...it was pretty bad.

"Well, when We get through this line I'll give you my character info and such." She smiled wide at Vedrit, it was always nice to meet a nice person. Sometimes on closed in stations like this people got a little...weird.

"Sometimes I think something like a business card would be handy for situations like these. List the servers one plays on, and the characters most often on." Vedrit chuckled, not knowing Arty had thought just the same thing. Silly or not, Vedrit wasn't too concerned, considering where they were and who was around.
"I dont know which takes longer; looking for a party, or waiting in this line." he joked, really letting his geekiness go. If he was freaking her out with it, he would just brush it off; the chances of them bumping into each other again if he did freak her out would likely be null. If she was cool with it, then he had no problem. He was actually enjoying being a total geek.

She chuckled and shook her head.

"You know, I was just thinking that." She eyed him for a moment. "Of course if you're playing a healer then people grab you up instantly! Then you have a whole other host of issues though. You can easily end up in a PUG that was power leveled by some other gamer for gold and they have no idea how to hold agro and then you pull it off of them and of course you're the one who has to run back cause you're the rezzer...." She trailed off looking at him for a second.

Her nerdyness had slipped out full fledged, not that she really minded at this point he seemed just as bad off as she was. She took a breath.

"Well, you get the idea."

Vedrit nodded in understanding, "I usually play ranged, but I have a healer character, just incase. Ranged is so underestimated," he said, "so people tend to only party with me if they 1) understand the potential of a good ranged spcialist, or 2) have no idea what makes a good party and just invite anything that moves."

He chuckled at a sudden thought, "So, after we get done in this eternal line of waiting, you want to go to my place, or yours?" he asked, trying hard to not laugh at how badly that question could be misinterpreted. Ofcourse, he had no real intention to the question but to make a joke

She snorted a little bit unladylike and shook her head as he asked. She tried to hold in a laugh but couldn't manage it. Some people turned and looked at her as she snorted. She looked back up at Vedrit recovering from the laughter and gave a quick glance around the room at the people staring.

"It's up to you," Her face turned very grave for a second. "I have a crazy space cat at my house...I just adopted him to upset my roommate...but I had to get a casing for almost all the cords at the house...he tried to eat...everything. So if you feel like braving the monster then my house is fine."
