Her mouth was dry. Had she been gawking? Perhaps. Her mouth curved a frown, from beneath the hooded wrap of a black shawl she cast a look down the narrow street. She had never seen slums. Her work had taken her to more ... politically powerful environments. Her dead-eye saw the ghost of something up the street, a whisper of something to come, and sure enough a boy darted around the corner, chased by two men.
Seven watched, disinterested, then turned and continued to wander up the street. She had found her temporary home some time ago, but found it ... unsatisfactory and instead had settled to wander aimlessly through the street. Clad in black, boots to her knees, and pants that fit like another skin, the shawl covered her chest and draped like a dark wave across her shoulders.
"This place," she hissed low like a serpent, "will have to do." A reluctant surrender. She stopped on the corner and tipped a look toward the sky. "Nothing." She thought, for a moment, she may have felt disappointment, but it was gone in a flash and she resigned herself to a starless night.
On the corner she stood, hand on hip, staring at where the sky should have been, seemingly lost in a trance.
