Text adventure? Lolwut? It's very simple, anyone can control the player. Type what you want to do and I will describe the scene. First come, first serve.
Oh, and try not to die. That sometimes happens.
Welcome to ATC Text Adventure!
You dimly remember last night. There was definitely pie, too much pie, and maybe some poor decision-making. You don't feel very good, and when your vision returns to normal you realize that you are lying on a bed, on your side. You hear rattling from the vent overhead.
Gabbykins stands next to the door, shuffling his feet uncomfortably.
There is a cup of water on the table next to you.
>

Takes the cup of water.
Goes to Gabeykins.
-
> take cup of water
While lying on your side on the bed, you retrieve the cup of water. The cold metal presses against your fingertips as you add it to your inventory. Also, you hear rattling from the vent overhead.
*** You have gained 1 point! ***
Gabbykins is looking increasingly uncomfortable.

> Talk to Gabbykins.

> talk to Gabbykins
From your spot on the bed, you mumble incoherently to Gabbykins, but you soon discover that your throat is parched. As he can't really understand you, he soon decides it's not worth it and leaves. You hear rattling from the vent overhead, as if something... or someone... is trying to get through.
You are alone.

>examine vent

> examine vent
Groggily, you sit up in bed and look at the vent. You note that it would be an excellent escape route for the would-be adventurer, but soon that will become the least of your worries. Too transfixed with horror to move, you watch the rapidly approaching figure.
As you breathe your last breath of freshly filtered ATC air, you can't help but wonder what moved Roman Rosales to dive down an air vent, stark-naked, holding nothing but a sledgehammer.
*** You have died. ***

And then your eyes snap open, blurry. Through poorly exacuted deus ex machina, you realize that it must have been... just... a dream.

> use cup of water
You bring the metal cup to your lips, drinking it all in one gulp. Your throat must have been particularly dry, and you feel a little better as you slip the cup into your pocket. You hear rattling from the vent overhead, as if something... or someone... is trying to get through..
*** You have gained 1 point! ***
Gabbykins shifts from one foot to the other, obviously quite ready to leave.

> walk to Gabbykins
Your footsteps echo against the riveted metal floor. Only seconds after you climb out of bed, a terrifying crash sounds behind you and you spin around to find a pancake of Roman Rosales, in the nude, crushed by his own sledgehammer. It seems you have narrowly avoided death. This time.
*** You have gained 3 points! This is a restore spot. ***
> talk to Gabbykins
Gabbykins is too busy flipping the frick out to talk. You hear shouting from out in the hallway.
>
-
> take sledgehammer
> examine gabbykins
> examine Corpse/pancake/Roman
> examine room
-
> take sledgehammer
You add the sledgehammer to your inventory, which is really more of a state of being than an actual place. The hammer kind of rests against your shoulder. It would be comforting, almost, if it hadn't just killed your mentor. Oh yeah, you remember. He was your mentor.
> examine Gabbykins
"Oh no, this is bad. This is bad bad bad."
Gabriel looks distinctly horrified at the sight of Roman's lifeless form. He's dressed in a rather dashing Pilot's uniform. The voices out in the hall get louder.
> examine Roman
Roman doesn't look good at all. Then again, he's dead.
Someone rattles at the door, and Gabbykins jumps. Looking around frantically, he says, "we've got to get out of here! Don't you know what this looks like?"
> examine room
Looks like your dorm room. Your roommate's gone, presumably to classes. There's a ventilation shaft above the bed, recently pulverized by a fast-moving sledgehammer. You don't really know why Gabbykins is here, but he's good comic relief.
You hear the sound of metal locks disengaging. The door opens, and Marshal strides in, immediately spotting you with the sledgehammer and Roman's sledgehammer-impaled body. He doesn't like that so much.

> talk to Gabbykins
"Just... go quietly and you should be fine," he mutters nervously, looking at your bloodstained sledgehammer, "...I think."
> walk to Marshal
You do so. Your psychic node falls first, becoming surrounded by a bubble of Marshal's own energy. Then comes your motor functions, the movement of your limbs weakening and dying. Finally, with a sort of cold calm, Marshal reams your mind into liquid... we think he can do that.
*** You have effectively died. ***

I'm sorry. I don't understand what you mean. You hear shouting from out in the hallway.

>exit room
You open the door and stride down the hallway, not even looking back. Marshal pushes past you, an insignificant candidate, and by the time he reaches the room you're running. You frantically make your way back to the candidate dorms, open the door of your own room, and dive under the covers.
There is a Map of the ATC and a Pie Tin on the table next to you.

Thanks to Rhi for blinkytext. I love it!

>examine Map of the ATC

>examine Map of the ATC
You unfold the paper and examine it. After straining your eyes for a little while, you refresh your memory. The ATC's a vast complex, but you are only allowed in a few rooms - namely the Training Hall, the Cafeteria, your Candidate Dorm, and Classrooms 112 and 118. You remember 118 because Roman got a candidate hammered there once, or so the rumors say. Come to think of it, the details might have been changed a bit over the years...
...in any case, you can now Go To any of these locations.
>pick up pie tin
You pick up the Tie Pin. It's a designer synthetic-gold tack which you wore to your first day of mentorship (with a tie!) before you realized that everyone was really laid-back. It's not much of a weapon, but it'll do.
Oh, I'm sorry. You said Pie Tin, right? You pick that up too. It's almost worthless as a shield, but maybe at some point you'll bake a pie for a Pielot or something.
