__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF

Physical Description Setiae  is slightly above average height as compared to a human, a bit short for a Ka’naen, and as Fae vary in size from less than a foot to in excess of 8ft tall, she can’t really be compared in height to the ‘average’ Fae.

Her Fae ancestry has gifted her with immense beauty and a youthful appearance, even into her sixties she looks to be a very well aging woman somewhere in her 30s-40s. She has fiery red hair, cream skin with a clear completion, and stunning green eyes.

Her alien heritage has gifted her with and sensitive senses of smell and hearing.

Personality Setiae is cold and distant from most people, but highly obedient to her Dragon, Oqkeh, though she has little respect for any other authority, she does follow orders – unless they contradict Oqkeh’s will. In an effort to forget and/or ignore the horrors she inflicts on others, she’s delved deep into the science of her work and she spends most of her free time either pampering herself at high-end spas or engaging in any pleasure that will keep her mind from wondering to that place that used to want to heal people.

Out of frank vanity and sometimes a desire to irritate those who she feels superior to, she is prone to making people address her as Dr. Raeonihnb e’Orgn Alkfin, the ridiculously ornamental name of her high cast adoptive parents.

Magic/Abilities
Sense of smell: As compared to a human, Setiae had a very sensitive sense of smell. She can recognize a person (and could track them, if she wanted) by their smell alone. From a person’s scent she can pick up their mood, gender, reproductive cycles, species, state of general health, etc. She can also detect these things to varying degrees after a person has recently left the area, though this ability diminishes with time and with other factors such as wind and rain.
Hearing: As compared to a human, Setiae’s sense of hearing is very strong. She can hear pitches both lower and higher than humans. She can also hear sounds much quieter than humans can detect.
Fae longevity: Setiae is expected to have a long life (as compared to a human) and maintain her youthful beauty long into old age. She may live hundreds of years, but it's anyone's guess around what age she might naturally expire, given her mixed decent.
Psychic Abilities: As, is the requirement to become a pilot, Setiae is a telepath, though only a moderately strong one. More impressive is her abilities with telekinesis. She’s quite strong in her ability to move and manipulate physical objects, so much so that it’s common for her to simply call something near-by to hand than to move across a room to retrieve it.

Relationships
Oqkeh: Dragon, Male, 200 years old. Oqkeh is likely to be first described as harsh and cruel by anyone who knows him at all. He’s unbending, unkind, and cold. His relationship with Setiae is entirely one sided. She does what he wants and he gets what he wants, and if she doesn’t the punishments, he deals out are swift and severe and always in excess compared to the transgression.
Adoptive parents: Navi and Rekna Raeonihnb e’Orgn Alkfin. Setiae’s relationship with her adoptive parents is distant and cool, but she still makes the occasional social appearance for them.
Lovers: Setiae hasn’t has a proper lover in many years, though she has had a few one night stands. It would take some effort for someone to get past her either party and forget mode or her distant and cool outer shell.
Frinds: Setiae doesn’t really have any friends.

History
Setiae was born poor and moved in and out of the foster system as a young child, and has no knowledge of her birth parents. She only knows the make-up of her species because of genetic testing done in the course of medical treatment.

Some of her foster parents were kind, but she never bonded with them, others were abusive, and she was intelligent enough to learn how to keep them happy or avoid them well enough to minimize the abuse she had to endure. However, even with changing schools, changing homes, and changing caretakers, she proved an intelligent child. She loved science, and eventually got turned onto medicine. She excelled in all academic subjects, and found her schooling and studying a safe place for her to hide away from the worries and dangers that riddled the other parts of her life.

During her ninth year, Setiae’s life changed forever. This was when she first showed signs of having psychic abilities. The foster parents chosen for her then, were chosen more carefully, and those who cared for her, did so with more attention to the fact she would likely one day be a Pilot. By the time she was twelve she was both in college and had been adopted by a high cast couple who had found they couldn’t have children, and who were looking for a proper charity to poor their money into. They couldn’t be more proud of the pet project they had adopted. She was enrolled in a better, privet university, dressed up, taught how to act in high society, and shown off regularly by her adopted parents. Never having been social, and never having developed many deep relationships, Setiae didn’t really care – she took full advantage of her windfall, though, and dove headlong into her studies.

By the time she was eighteen, Setiae had graduated from Medical School with a degree in neurology. Four days after she graduated from the university, Satiae shipped off the Candidate training. Like all other things she threw herself into, Setiar excelled in training. She moved through the levels quickly and graduated in four years at the age of twenty-two.

The dragon, Oqkeh, who chose her is severe and cruel and keeps her in line with the promise of the harshest punishments. On their first encounter he plugged her directly into the network and kept her there for days getting her sufficiently addicted to the information stream before cutting her off for a weak to watch her suffer. When he though she’d suffered and begged enough, he finally relinquished and let her reconnect. Now, Oqkeh closely monitors and polices her time on the network allowing her enough time to keep symptoms at bay, and allowing her access when she has a need to gather knowledge for her work. He allows extra time in return for her pleasing him and cuts of access to punish her. However, the need for such punishment hasn’t arisen in decades. Setiae is wholly obedient.

Once Oqkeh and Setiae had worked out the boundaries and expectations of their relationship, she was put into the Department of Science and Medicine (DoSaM), under R&D, and sent to TRIM to work with their scientists. She was to experiment on those trimmed from candidate training. Setiae had hoped to work on healing the minds of those who had been broken physically or mentally by training, and to help give more control to those who found their powers too unwieldy to handle. Oqkeh had other plans for her though. He wanted her to explore ways to make psychics more powerful, threw physical and chemical manipulation, and technological augmentation. For a brief time, Setiae resisted this – she wanted to heal, not experiment. She protested by stating her case, and asking permission – she attempted to reason with Oqkeh that if she could help those unable to control their powers, those who’s minds were scarred or broken physically, that they would have more Pilots in the world. Oqkeh promptly cut her off from the network and submitted her to a number of other punishments until she submitted to his will. It took less than a day before she was apologizing for her suggestion and begging his forgiveness. But he didn’t relent, not for days.

Setiae has never made so much as a suggestion contrary to his wishes sense. She threw herself into the science of her work and attempted to ignore the people she worked on. The science was fascinating, and it was easy to let herself forget there were real people suffering. Over time she became more and more engrossed in her work and less and less concerned about the suffering she caused.

Now, almost forty years later, Setiae remains immersed in her work. Though she can occasionally be seen at social events hosted by her adoptive parents, she really enjoys activities that allow her to let go and not think about anything at all. The echos or screams and the horrors she's inflicted on others - people dying in great balls of fire, and impressive electrical storms, for example, still haunt her dreams though.
