The Travica Titans
Mechanized Emergency Defense Squad

You will be shown
How we've become indestructible
Determination that is incorruptible
From the other side a terror to behold
Annihilation will be unavoidable
Every broken enemy will know
That their opponent had to be invincible
Take a last look around while you're alive
We're the indestructible masters of war!

I. About the Titans

The Travica Titans are a mechanized Squad that deploy to key, critical locations in need of immediate, emergency defense. The Titans are the last, unmoving bulwark in the time of a crisis, defending key locations with overwhelming firepower and nigh impenetrable armor.

The Pilots that make up this squad are those with the unshakeable resolve and indomitable will to get the job done, no matter the cost and no matter the odds - they are the last line of defense, the last wall between the enemy and utter annihilation.

Members of the Titans are expected to be capable combatants, in and out of their Mechs, as well as have the knowledge and know-how to maintain their hardware and keep it battle-ready - no emergency is planned, after all. Group cohesion is also an absolute must.

  • Form a line
  • Hold above mentioned line
  • Blow the hell out of anything vaguely resembling the enemy
  • Repeat steps 1-3 as necessary

To join: Send me the profile link to the character you wish to join, and Commander Volk will be in touch.

PRESENT MEMBERS:

Squadron Command

Squadron Leader

Asst. Squadron Leader Limited positions available depending on squad size overall
[Acts as Squad Leader in the event that the present Squad Leader is unable to perform their duties, or helps to facilitate group cohesion in the event of large-scale deployment. Otherwise is simply part of the squadron regular. Should either be a senior Pilot Cardinal or newly minted Pilot Echo with good leadership skills.]

    PAST MEMBERS:
Whether because they're dead or something more sinister... To be added as necessary.

    IV.Squad Roles
[These are specific sub-roles that are fulfilled by specific members of the squadron to form the full unit. The basic structure is that of a ten man squadron, headed by the two commanding officers, the Squadron Commander and Squadron Leader. This particular role structure differs wildly from team to team, based on that particular team's specific modus operandi (ie. a stealth based team will have far more supporting/stealth based operatives versus heavy weapons experts).]

All Titans are expected to be able to do general repair and maintenance on their respective MARBs. However, there are a select group of individuals chosen for their exemplary mechanical skills, and they are the ones responsible for field repairs in the event of catastrophic damage. These same individuals are also responsible for the extensive repairs that heavily damaged mechs require.

    V. The MARBs

MARB - Mechanical Armored Robotic Biped. These are the Mechs, the evolution of the tanks of the past, and the armor that gave the Titans their fame. Most MARBs range between fifteen to twenty feet tall, depending on armor and weapon loads, with the biggest generally carrying the largest arsenal. While these machines are mobile, they are very slow due to their extreme weight. However, despite their slow speed, it would be folly to assume that they are at all clumsy. While the legs are slow, supporting all the weight of the machine, the limbs and torso are very maneuverable and quite dextrous, and the upper torso can turn and swivel in 360 degrees, independently of the lower frame.

All MARBs or shaped in a way that vaguely resembles what can be described as a headless humanoid, with powerful and heavy hydraulic arm and leg frames, with the joints and inner workings being heavily armored with two-inch thick metal plates. The cockpit, making up the greater mass of the torso, is very heavily armored to protect the pilot within. Shielded, high resolution cameras on the exterior of the cockpit provide the pilot with a field of view close to 145 degrees.

These machines, with their complex hardware and sophisticated programming, are powered entirely by electricity - therefore, the risk of an extra target, i.e. a fuel tank, has been completely negated. All systems, including locomotion, targeting, and weapon systems have their power provided by a single high efficiency, high voltage battery. All MARBs are equipped with an emergency solar charger, so that field-charging is possible in the case of a drawn-out sortie.

All MARBs also have several nodes for weapons or othrt equipment, namely on the shoulders and both arms. However, a clever, mechanically minded Pilot may be inventive enough to install even more, so long as they don't overtax the legs of their MARB. Typical weapon loadouts include, but are not limited to:

    - One or two arm mounted, belt-fed .50 caliber machine guns, with a close range weapon on the other arm being a secondary option

    - Shoulder mounted rocket batteries, or long-range anti-armor 'rifle'

    VI. General History

Even as the Aedolis-Edanith war raged on in space and upon the red planets surface, brilliant minds - those of both soldiers and scientists alike - were always seeking a better weapon, better armor, better everything. Anything it took to smash the enemy and blow them to pieces, turn their soldiers into red stains and their war machines into just so much scrap metal.

Just before the war came to its unfortunate stalemate and ended, a select group of Pilots and regular military were chosen to field test brand new machines of war,
large humanoid robots armed to the teeth with bullets and high yield ordinance.

This group of Pilots were the first Titans, die-hard men and women dedicated wholly to Aedolis, flown in and dropped in enemy holdings singly or in pairs for the singular purpose of fucking shit up. Battle reports were very consistent - machinery would take only minimal to moderate damage, whereas their surroundings would be left in flames and pieces.

When the war came to an end, and the decision had to be made to either disband or reintegrate the squad into the regular military, those previous observations were brought to the table very quickly. And so, the mission has changed - explosive assault has given way to perfect defense.

However, the Titans remain the same.
