Experiment 781-012-332 [Closed]

"Interesting."

The capsule had been picked up about a week ago Earth time. The diagnostics that were run on the mysterious projectile were unlike anything that had been seen before. It was definitely not something made by human hands. It wasn't all that different, but it was traced to outside of the galaxy. Very unusual.

A few days ago, the diagnostics had gotten to the center of the capsule and found something even more shocking than the capsule. There was a life form in the middle of it, and, after a few hours messing with it, the life form was able to be extracted and moved into the medical bay for study, which is where it was now.

"Very interesting." Cis muttered. It was very similar to a human male, even looked the same as one. It's genetic structure was also the same as a human's...except in one little spot. Well that was for later. Right now, the task was to get it's bodily function levels up to acceptable levels.

Cis raised her head and looked at the form held in suspended animation encased in the regenerative liquid. There were about a hundred wires running off his body, including dozens attached to the head monitoring brain waves. It was all so perplexing. How did a human get so far outside of the solar system? What was with the little DNA gap?

No matter, those questions and more could be answered after everything was all said and done with.

It had been weeks since the subject had been placed into the recovery chamber and things were moving slowly. Very slowly. Even though he was alive, the subject's brain wave patterns and heart and breathing rates were such that he seemed to be sleeping.

Normally, this would not be a problem, TRIM had performed experiments on sleeping subjects before, but if even the slightest thing went wrong, his chances of living might as well be zero. This, of course, frustrated Cis to no end.
"Damnit!" She exclaimed for  at least the tenth time. "So many years of research, so much planning, and, when we finally get a subject that can be experimented on, he will not wake up! Damnit!"

Cis moved from the computer terminal she was standing in front of to stand in front of to stand in front of, and glare at, the recovery chamber. "What do you want from us?" She muttered. "We've done everything humanly possible, went to extremely great lengths, I've even put my job on the line for this. So why won't you wake up?!" Her last sentence went from her quiet muttering and built up until the last two words were a shout."

As if on cue, one of her assistants spoke up. "Ma'am, he readings are picking up. He's just below consciousness. Experimentation should be safe now." Cis turned back to the chamber and looked at it thoughtfully. Was it chance? Or did you hear me? She thought.
"Right." She said. "Let's get ready to experiment."
