Boys Will Be Boys [Catalina]
« on: August 24, 2017, 06:59:21 pm »
@Catalina

Zephire was bored. Well, maybe bored wasn't the right word. He was doing something, after all, so it wasn't like he had nothing to capture his attention. It was just that it was so...mundane. Routine. Boring.

Okay, yes, he was bored.

Clicking his tongue against his teeth, he leaned back in his chair and let his head hang over the backrest, glaring at his upside-down apartment. He'd already spent the morning cleaning it, shifting the rest of the furniture after the goldmine he had found hidden under his couch. He snorted slightly at the thought, lifting his head back to glower at the half typed report in front of him, sighing in remembered exasperation. These things were so dull.

Dropping his comm onto his desk, he spun his chair away, glancing at the clock on the wall and grinning slightly to himself. He could finish the report later; right now, he had a rail to catch.

He grabbed a coat and his keys on the way out, locking his apartment while he pulled the coat on, before jogging down the hall at a brisk trot. He wasn't quite sure when it had happened, but sometime during his chats with Keithen for the last few days, they had agreed to meet up when Keithen returned from Sol at long last. He smiled a little in anticipation. If nothing else, this would be interesting

Keithen sat on the rail looking at his comm. Skimming through various sites thinking of what special kind of hell he could put Garza through. Maybe a new type of technique. Still he was itching from a slight sun burn and just excited to get back to Haviah away from the the desert heat which he spent most of his time in Razykin's apartment for save for going out a buying a few dresses to try on there for the hell of it, he got a few dresses for Kate to give to the kids atleast which made him happy.

He had some meeting up to do though with Zephy first. The two did agree to meet up when he got back so that is what they were going to do. He looked out the window relizing how close the rail was to the station. Finally after eight hours he was finally to familiar grounds. The door opened and he sighed with releif putting his comm away into his pocket steping out of the rail and finds a little place out of the way to wait for Zephire standing as much as he can enjoying everything taking off his glasses and cleaning them off as he waited humming with AuRron in his mind.

Zephire arrived roughly five minutes after the rail, jogging into the station and letting his eyes scan the crowds. He knew roughly what Keithen looked like, but amidst all the other strangers milling about in the area, it was like finding a needle in a stack of needles. Sighing softly, he stepped out of the way of the steady influx of traffic moving in and out of the station, pulling out his comm and opening the channel with Keithen.

'Here. You?'

Keithen felt his comm buzz and saw that Zephire had sent him asking, Here, You? Keithen looks around...... he hated bit a bit shorter he felt he was tiny here and could only see people's heads. Tsking a deep breath he replied, Yep, I'm jumping and sent it out. Than began to jump up and down. If this didn't work he was gonna die laughing.

Zephire snorted a laugh as he read Keithen's reply, stuffing the comm back in his pocket and glancing around the station once more. He caught a flash of blue hair and sunlight glinting off spectacles and chuckled, pushing his way through the crowd towards the bobbing blue head. His own stature towered over most of the other people in the station, though tall people weren't exactly a rarity these days, and he could see Keithen properly after only a few strides. He raised a hand in greeting.

Keithen lost it anyways. He started to laugh within a few jumps. And finally he caught site of the waving hand of Zephire and he quit his jumping up and down still giggling. He walks up to him and waves his hand slghtly in greeting. This Pilot was much taller then him, he was basically a tower to him. But st this point he got used to other Pilots and civilians towering over him at times..... Garza was definetly one of those cases. "How's it going Zeph?" He asks still looking like a kid who saw fireworks for the first time and a but gigglely still.

Zephire grinned, Keithen's laughter was infectious, not to mention the sight of the short Pilot bouncing up and down like a pogo was more than a little entertaining. And to think the Pilots had such great reputations. Well, most of them anyway. Some were just reputed assholes.

"Boringly." He half-shouted around the constant stream of chatter and noise around them. Stations were always so noisy. He made a face, blocking his ears half-heartedly, "You can choose between burgers or noodles, or else I ain't paying."

Keithen tilted his head not quite being able to hear Zeph but was just able to make out what he was saying. "How about some noodles?" He stifled a laugh when Zeph covered his ears. He wasn't the one with enhanced everything and he was still covering his ears. Just pure gold for him.

Zephire only made another face in response to Keithen's laughter, nodding in agreement to the choice and turning to push a way through the thick crowds. At least they were beginning to thin a little, he noted, as the influx of passengers from the recent rail trickled out into the streets.

Keithen followed Zephire closely trying not to get lost in the crowd again like he did that one night while at the Synthetsia. That was a fun nightmare even funnier when they crashed out drunk. Nothing to worry about he wasn't drunk this time with beer. At least the crowd was thinning out and it was easier to get around. Still he felt the urge to get a drink, but he fought it off. "So which noodle place we going to?" He asks Zeph scratching his shoulder feeling it burn a bit still making his cringe a bit on the inside.

(Ooc: A tiny heads up, if you wanna do a time skip go ahead XD I am always fine with those)

Zephire grinned conspiratorially, glancing over to the other pilot."There's this little place off Keens I know. My mentor used to take me there sometimes," He explained, ignoring the part of his brain that wanted to tack another sentence on the end, "Unless you have a different preference?"

Place off Keens huh? Keithen had never heard of it. "Nah. No other preference, can't wait to try it." He usually cooked his own meals at home. He smiles, "To be honest I never really heard of this place. Usually I don't eat out much. Probably missing out on a lot of places." He shurgs keeping his eyes looking forward, as if trying not to run into anyone out of habit and watching the ground intently as if he had his glasses off at home.

Zephire only nodded, weaving his way through the crowds with a practiced ease. Soon enough, thry came to a quieter, more calming sector, Zephire guiding the way to a quiet little noodle shack with a habitual route. It was a cute little place, red and gold overlapping in pleasant colours. Quiet music played in thd background as they entered, Zephire nodding politely to the few patrons whk looked up.

Keithen looked around the joint. It was nice, he was mesmerized with the colors though. Golds and red were very nice together. He nodded his head a bit with a slight hand wave to the other customers in the place who looked up. When the two took their seats Keithen looked at the menu thinking what he was going to get. All the choices looked so good to him, "What would you recommend Zeph?" He finally asked not being able to decide. AuRron told him what was cheapest he should get out of respect but she also said it was his choice. Which he was glad about personally. She was a great dragon to him.

Zephire hummed, thinking about the question for a moment before he tapped one of the dish names, the price below pretty average. "This one's pretty good; if you don't mind a bit of spice. Otherwise maybe try one of these." He advised, pointing out some of the plainer selections further down the menu. After that, he went back to perusing his own choices,

Keith nods and goes with the spicey dish. Spice was always good for the heart and soul every once in a while in his books. Keithen looks at the decor in the restraunt some more. As far as he could tell this was a cheap place, perfect for anyone really, in the upper or lower cast system. Also everyone seemed happy and content. Just what he likes to see.

Zephire soon made his own choice, folding up the menu and setting it aside in favour of folding his hands over the table between them. It felt a little weird being here with somebody other than his mentor, or nobody at all. Still, it was weird in a good way. Keithen was a nice guy, that he knew confidently, and it might be nice to actually get to know someone outside his work shift. Nocturnal duty was a bitch sometimes.

By all rights, he should have been sleeping then, catching up on some much needed sleeps after the crappy day, but he had promised to meet Keithen when the Pilot returned from Solarta, and rest had hardly been coning easy for...a while. The recent fritz on his brain hadn't helped any either.

He sighed softly, twisting his pale hands together, and focused on his new friend. "So. Solarta. Still as dusty and hellish as always?"

Keithen double checks what he wanted and closed the menu using his finger as a temporary bookmark. Turning his attention to Zeph once again with a slight smile and answers his question, "Pretty much. It felt like I was in a roatisory oven." He laughs a bit. "How's it been here lately?" He wanted to refrain frommsaying snything about the intense headache from a few nights before when he arrived in Solarta. He felt as though AuRron and the Inqury would definetly not be happy if he did plus he'd be in deep trouble probably.

Zephire chuckled, amused, and nodded. "Sounds about normal." He agreed, glancing around the small food joint to try and spot one of the waiters. "Pretty much same old same old here. Crappy work, tiring people, etcetera." He quipped

"Ahhh, good to hear not much changed." Keithen smiles. This was such a nice break everything. One of the waiters come over asking them what they would be ordering, he seemed to be wearing the normal outfit for the establishment. Keithen orders his spicey noodles and a glass of water. He waits for Zeph to order his meal. The smell of fresh noodles went by the trio as they were delivered. Damn they smelt good! He just couldn't wait to try them. But he remained calm and not looking excited, though a Pilot might be able to tell how excited he was he kept it very well masked out in public.
