The Toxins within (Catalina)

It was roughly halfway through the morning when Gage walked through Upper Haviah. He stretched his arms up into the air and yawned. It was a sunny day but not overly warm, with a cloudless, soft blue sky. Despite this, Gage felt completely drained; he had stayed up far too late into the morning, finally going to sleep around 4:10 AM. He decided that the only remedy to the stupor he was in was a hot cup of coffee, and perhaps a muffin. He pulled up his com and ran through a list of directions to the nearest cafe; a Manolins. Gage began to stroll down the street, taking occasional glances at his directions, but mostly looking around and taking in the scenery. It had been a while since he walked down this specific street. He began noticing recent changes to buildings around where he was. It seemed that with the culture constantly evolving, so did the architecture.

So it's a left then two rights and one last left...

In a few minutes he stood outside the store. It looked like there were very few people in this particular shop and yet, all the people inside looked like citizens of high social standing. Gage pushed open the door and walked over to the line. He took a deep breath and exhaled deeply. He had had a stressful week, and he was thankful for any rest he could get. When it was his turn to order, he gave a tired smile and asked for a quad white mocha and a blueberry muffin. It wasn't long before his order was ready. He thanked the person working the register, grabbed his food and went to take a seat at at table. Gage took a small bite of the muffin and washed it down with a sip of mocha. He sighed and took a moment to closely examine the people that were in the shop, most of which seemed to have taken to the recent fad of bio modification. They all seemed relatively happy. However, it was most likely the kind of happiness that comes from buying something new; fleeting and shallow.

Such is our decadent way of life

After looking over the patrons, Gage turned inwards and mulled over his thoughts. He wished that he could be as carefree as everyone else here. Recently, he had been working around the clock trying to find an antidote to a previously undiscovered and extremely deadly poison secreted by an exotic plant that was found on Lorophon. It was challenging, especially so due to the fact that Gage had only one specimen of the plant to work with. He sighed internally, he had taken a break to clear his mind, he needed something else to think about. He took another bite of his muffin and sighed. He needed to do something different today. He had had too much monotony recently. He hoped something interesting would happen soon.

Keithen walks into Manolins stifling a yawn. He had a rough night with Pepper trying to get into everything. His fridge, cabinets, pillow. Nothing was safe from that fluffy thing. He also went through a vigorous training session with Garza again and he was still getting off the alcohol poisoning from the Potion he drank. Then he got stuck in the DoSaM after that. Just a rough few weeks man with not being a hundred percent yet.

He grabbed a large straight black coffee and a wild berry bagel. Sitting down to eat it he hums with AuRron in his mind a playful tune. Making her a bit happy which made him a bit happier also helping him deal with the headache, aches and craving for a drink his body so desperately wanted. Sighing he splits the bagel in half and drinks his coffee.

As he looked idly over the patrons, a newcomer caught Gage's attention. He could feel poison within them. That wasn't all too uncommon, this was Aedolis after all, it was most likely alcohol. What attracted his gaze was how old the poisoning appeared to be. Gage shuddered to think how bad it must have been a few weeks ago. Now that Gage was getting a solid look at this individual, he realized that he could recognize them from somewhere; he had seen them around the Citadel! Gage bowed his head and took a long sip of his coffee. Without moving, he reached out telepathically to them, "I hope you've consulted someone about that nasty case of liquid pain you have floating around in there." While he meant this to sound genuinely concerned, it came off slightly pretentious.

Gage finished his coffee with one large swig and began absentmindedly tapping his fingers against the table. "I heard a whisper about you in DoSaM, but unfortunately, when I showed up to see the situation, you had been released. I am dumbfounded that someone let you go running around like this."
