Neurotic Robot in Need of Family....

Ok, my character Lana, the inept wandering bounty hunter and escaped experiment is in need of someone to rp her parent. (I know her history says that a woman created her, but that can be changed. Her information is right here: http://remnants.spiritsoftheearth.net/f ... .php?t=442

I'm curious why you're wanting someone to play her parent. As the history stands at the moment, the parent is kind of out of play. Are you going to rp with the parent, or you just want her to be there?

I am planning to rp with the person who plays the parent. I thought it would be make for interesting dynamics, and be a nice opening plot for Lana.(Family is always fun to rp, and even more fun when the family members are played by two different people.) The parent is out of the picture now, but that doesn't mean they would be out of the picture forever, since they could be anywhere...It is a fairly nebulous plot, but that's because I want the other person to have the freedom to rp the parent anyway they want. I don't want to force their character into being, or acting in any certain way.

hmm, so pretty much the parent would be a scientist who created a human-like robot. Anything else about the parent a potentual character creater should know? Minor guidelines or anything?

No, actually. It's open ended as to how they want the character to be, and what they plan for their species, location, or backstory. I don't want to infringe of the creativity of whoever wants to create a character. That doesn't mean I won't be willing to help someone if they want guidelines, it just means I don't require them.

Okay, good to know. I'd kind of like a couple of guidelines, something to build off of/inspire me (since you said you don't want to stiffle, they might or might not be stuck to closely, but they could give me a spring board at least.)

Hmmm, the parent should be at least 54 years old, be human, and live in space. Here are a few different ideas for the character's story:
They could work at Space Station Libra, or they could be wanted by the law, or they could be working for one of the many governments. They could even be all three, but that would just be sillyXD

My characters tend to grow as I go, so if you can stand a few inconsistancies as I work her out, I'm ready to start whenever you are. Did you have a plot in mind?

I'm fine with thatXD The only reason Lana is so well fleshed out is because I use her on another forum. As for a plot, I was thinking of having my first post being Lana when she first gets on Libra. Most of my plots just build as I rp, with a little structure. I was thinking of eventually having Lana have some sort of break down, and causing a disturbance than ended up with her in the brig...

Lana's been gone for a while. After she escaped from the lab, she went on the run, and has no idea where her mother is. She's now wandering around, trying to be a bounty hunter. She's never been on Libra before, and will just be getting there when the rp starts. I think that I'll have it that her stun wand is against the rules, and she gets in a confrontation with Libra security.

Of course, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do that. I don't want to write things about Libra that aren't true or use NPC characters I shouldn't.

From what I've seen, it's pretty laid back around here. If we wanted to say that stun guns weren't allowed, I don' think it woudl be a problem unless we went jumping into other people's rps going "no stun guns!"
