Knights of The Round Table (Teinar Council Members Roll Out!
« on: September 21, 2008, 08:24:41 pm »
Thanos was sitting in the council room at the round table that had the map of Teinar in the middle. He was wearing a purple looking vest and dark blue pants. His suit jacket was hung over the back of his chair. He was moving purple hair back from his face as his fingers played moved across the large table.

The table looked black but had a glass covering over the top part. Underneath it was a holographic map of Teinar which zoomed in and moved around as he ran his fingers around on the table playing with it. He was sitting and waiting for the other members to show up. He normally got there earlier than almost everyone. This time though Conrad wasn't even there yet.

The map moved around underneath his fingers. He clicked through a menu with his index finger. The different places popped up and then would fade away as he clicked through. Aedolis., he stopped on that one his fingers hovering above the glass. This pilot was a severe problem. They didn't know how far his psychic powers reached. Though he doubted it was all the way to Aedolis. With them combing all over everywhere to find this guy there was no guarantee how far the pilot would actually have to reach.

This meeting could change the history of Teinar, and most likely would. It could turn Teinar into history, no future. The simplest thing would seem to kill the Pilot. However...Teinar was a place of new beginnings and it may not be that simple. The Pilot would be going through hell when he woke up. Being away from his dragon. Thanos shook his head. Aedolis, what a horrible place. His brow furrowed.

He slid a pack of clove cigarettes out of his vest pocket and a little metal tin he pulled out of the little nook under the table in front of him. He always kept it by his seat in the council room. He knocked a cigarette out of his pack then dropped the pack on the table. Putting the cigarette in his mouth he focused on the tip of it. A small flame appeared on it then promptly went out lighting the cigarette.

Thanos looked around the room remembering the history of Teinar. He had been there for most of it. Started from a damn dust bowl. He still couldn't believe it sometimes. Flags were draped over all the chairs around the table. A dark brown and yellow, the Teinar colors. He breathed in deep on the cigarette then let the smoke billow out in a cloud. Sometimes he was glad he had given up love for immortality. Now he could enjoy the finer things in life, as often as he wanted to. He hoped when Conrad showed up he had planned on drinks, because Thanos could already tell this was going to be one of those days.

Conrad was walking through the hall towards the council room. He knew this place like the back of his hand so he didn't understand why they always sent some soldier to walk with him. He sometimes thought it was just to scare kids new into their little session. He remembered when he was younger, running around these halls completely oblivious to all the dangers that faced Teinar.

He dreaded this meeting and looked forward to it. This would work towards actually making a decision. It was good to know he wouldn't be on his own in it. The weight slowly sliding off his shoulders was nice. They'd finally be addressing the problem. He knew it would be back as soon as he walked into that room. The temporary relief was nice. Such a delicate situation.

The young soldier walking behind him looked very lost and sort of nervous. His eyes moving constantly around the hallway like he was afraid a dragon had hidden behind a door or something. Conrad stopped and the soles of the kid's boots squeaked as he put his feet out to stop him from running into the leader.

"Son, I have a job for you." The kid's eyes went wide at him. Looking terrifying. "It's very important, It will make this day go very smoothly Charlie. Are you ready?" The kid nodded looking very serious.

"Yes, sir."

"I want you to go tell the chef, Vince, to get the council drinks ready." The kid looked confused but Conrad smiled at him and the kid started heading towards the kitchen.

Staring through half lidded eyes, she maneuvered her way through the halls towards the room she should've been at quite a while ago. She had accidentally slept in longer than she should've. It wasn't entirely her fault though. Sometimes being a spirit controller put a bit of strain on her body, making her ill. It probably didn't help that she was trying to teach herself how to seal a spirit into a stuffed animal. For one it wasn't an easy task trying to find a book or a person to teach her out to do it. There just weren't too many spirit controllers. At least she didn't think there were. Even if there were she couldn't leave so the person would have to live in Teinar. Just not very likely. On top of that teaching oneself was a crude way to learn and mistakes happened often, leaving said person tired and in Reva's case ill. It was a very long process.

She very well couldn't skip out on an important meeting like this so she had no option but to go. Tori could go but she wasn't stupid enough to send him out on his own. He'd probably cause problems and she didn't want to be the one to get scolded for it later. Yes..being a younger member she was not able to get past scoldings from other members. It was okay though.

Speaking of Tori, the little koala stuffed animal was held in her arms, not looking too happy. He was worried about her and upset with her for pushing herself too hard. He really was too much like a parent or older brother to her sometimes. Not like she listened to what he said anyway. After all she was the one that told him what to do.

Reva was taken from her thoughts when she nearly ran into the doors that would led to the council room. She took a couple of steps back and stared at them for a second before quickly going inside, glancing around automatically. Thanos was there already, as usual. She couldn't say anything so of course Tori was left to do the talking for her. He knew what to say and if he went off subject or anything, she could tell him to get back on topic because she could talk to him through a mind link they shared.

Tori glanced up at Reva as she walked, almost as if she were in a daze. Luckily she knew the halls well enough that she could probably walk the halls blind folded if need be. Despite that though...he was worried about her. She was pushing herself so hard and as a result she kept getting sick so easily. In fact he had to wake her up today for the meeting she had to attend because she was up most of the night coughing.

So crazy. What was he going to do with her? He knew better than bother her like he normally would while she was in this state. It was better for her not to argue or have to get on him anyway. He just shook his head and looked forward again. That was a good thing because he was able to see that he was just about to be squished between Reva and the door to the room they had to be at. "Jeez Reva." he said with a small sigh.

When she went into the room he looked straight to the person he knew would already be there. "Sorry we're late. Reva accidentally slept in."

There was a bang as the one of the doors was flung open. Apparently someone was very upset.

"We should all be sleeping in late, there is absolutely no reason to be having this meeting."

The deep feminene voice belonged to Illyanna, and she was quite upset about this entire situation.  Her black hair was loose around her shoulders, bright yellow reptile eyes looking at the other council members. A long black scaled tail twitched angrily behind her, the ridge of scales over her brow was furrowed in agitation.

As she walked past everyone to take her seat, one could see the large dark purple spikes that protruded from her elbows along with a few smaller ones on the back of her neck. Down the sides of her neck, leading all the way down her arms where dark iridescent scales that moved down the sides of her body offsetting the pale color of her skin.

She moved with a predatory grace to sit at her chair, propping her feet up on the table. She wore a pair of  dark leather pants, the sides of which continued to show off her reptilian features because the sides where sewn up in a criss-cross pattern to leave the sides of her legs open for all to see. Her matching shirt had no sleeves and she crossed her arms over her chest while she eyed everyone.

“Conrad is a complete fool.  I do not have time to be puttering around in these damned meetings! I have much more important things that I need to attend to.” She pointed a slender finger at Thanos. “And you, if you don’t put out that stinking cancer stick, I will put it out in your eye, sir.”

Thanos looked up at Reva and Tori as she walked them in. She still had the aura of sleep clinging to her around her eyes. Thanos was a little jealous, it was hard for him to sleep anymore. He looked between the two of them for a moment a smile appearing on his face. He was always confused about which one he should address, the bear or the girl.

"You two aren't late. I am just here early as usual. Conrad isn't even here yet." He stood up and pulled out a seat for Reva and smiled at her. Then the doors slammed open and he barely lent a glance to them. He already knew who it was coming through them. Thanos felt the prickle of irritation the minute the thought of her entered his head. He wasn't sure whether her bad attitude was part of the cold-blooded thing or just her. It was a shame, Thanos really thought she had a gorgeous regal quality to her, only on the outside though. On the inside it had aged to a fine spoiled wealthy attitude.

"Really Illyana, when had commanding me ever worked?" He sat back down in his seat flicking the ash into the little metal container. He hid his irritation well his voice taking on a bored quality as he spoke to her. He took a long drag on his cigarette looking straight at Illyana. She really thought her opinion was so much more important than theirs.  He really didn't understand why Conrad even allowed her on the council. She never took the time to think about anything.

Conrad was standing at the door that Illyana had left thrown open and grinning at her and Thanos. Those two could never really get along. She was an aggravating but very necessary part of the council. She wouldn't be the only one who thought he was a fool, however she may be the only one who actually said it to him.

"I may be the the fool Illyana but a fool who appreciates your attendance." He walked by her touching her shoulder, then he leaned down closer to her, careful of her spikes.

"Plus, your drinks are on the way."  He walked away from her sitting down in his normal seat. He slid his hand under into the little compartment taking out a data pad and a pack of cigarettes. Thanos could always be counted on to bring those for him. Conrad lit one with a metal light that had the Teinar colors across it. He didn't smoke except for when he was in these meetings or trapped long nights as the office. Made everything easier to deal with. He looked over towards Thanos with a smile.

"Thank you Thanos." It was so hard to know what that Mage was ever thinking. Conrad always valued his opinion. He had been with Teinar for so long and seen so much that when he spoke it was like he was the country's voice. He also made Conrad nervous though. He always seemed to have a strange dark aura that Conrad could barely feel, but for some reason it just bothered him.

He looked to Reva and Tori with a smile, a warm sort of smile. He really had no idea what they would think of the whole thing. The only one who was really transparent was Illyana. The rest he could guess at. Though the council always surprised him somehow.

"Why do you get here so early, exactly?" Tori asked. He had always been meaning to ask Thanos that. If there was no one there what was the purpose of being so early? Wouldn't he just get bored? Other than those questions though...he was just being nosey.

Reva shook her head a little at Tori's question. She wouldn't say anything to him about it though. He had his right to be curious or nosey..whichever he prefered. When she noticed Thanos get up and pull out a seat for her, a small smile crossed her lips. She had just started heading over there too when Illyanna suddenly burst through the doors. She took her seat and glanced over at the woman for a second before seating Tori up onto the table. If she put him in her lap he'd never be able to see over the table and would probably complain about it until she moved him anyway. Best save everyone a headache.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning....again." Tori mumbled, just loud enough for Illyanna to hear. So soon and he was already trying to get on everyone's nerves. Ah well if he didn't do that then he wouldn't be Tori. He blinked when Reva pulled on his ear a little as a warning to tell him to stop. He crossed his stubby little arms in a pouting like way and huffed slightly. "Fine fine." he mumbled. He narrowed his eyes and sighed though when Reva pat him on the head. He grumbled something under his breath and batted her hand away.

Reva just laughed a little on the inside when Tori batted her hand away. Even though she was the one that got very little sleep and should be cranky it was the complete opposite. It was probably just one of those days for him though. He'd be better off later on in the day. When Conrad finally arrived and sat down, giving her and Tori both a smile, she returned it. She wasn't surprised when Tori's irritated expression still remained.

"Reva says you'll have to forgive the way I act. I'm just being a grumpy little bea- HEY! Wait!" He looked back at her and narrowed his eyes a little, not surprised that she wasn't smiling or anything. She only did that when she had to, like when Thanos and Conrad had smiled at her. Through their mind link though, he knew she was laughing.

Illyanna took her feet of the table, eyes following Conrad as he walked past her and an almost invisible smile was on her lips. No matter how terrible a mood she was in when she would come to these meetings Conrad always seemed to take no notice.

Her gaze went to Thanos, eyes narrowing. "One day, I will stop threatining and actually do it, mage." She waved her hand in front of her face, swishing the smoke away from her. Leaning back into her chair, Illyanna watched him for a few more seconds. She did enjoy the little spats they would get into, it made her day a little more interesting. Perhaps one day she would have to see him outside the Council....

She did, however, give a warm smile to Reva. She had a soft spot for the girl, though she hated that little bear. She understood that Tori was nessecary for Reva, but that didn't mean that she couldn't want to rip of his little koala head and place it on a pike just outside of her house. "Yes Tori, I did get up on the wrong side of the bed, perhaps if you were to come over here and give me a hug I would feel better?" She grinned wickedly and crooked a finger at him.

The door came open again and a guard was holding it open for Alicia Kane. Her heels clicked against the floor as she walked in. She had a tray of drink in one hand and a silver suitcase in the other. She was wearing all white, a tight white skirt that pushed her knees closer together and a white suit coat. She had her glasses on her head pushing back her hair from falling into place.

She placed the tray in front of Thanos who normally tended to the drink side of things. Alicia looked pleased. Thanos watched her walk over to her chair. He gave a mental shiver. That woman gave off an icy aura like absolute no other. Sometimes Alicia even made Illyanna look like a cookie baking mother. He already knew her well enough to know what her vote would be. She even already had her silver case with her. Which never went well.

Conrad rose out of his seat and pulled out the one on his left side for Alicia.

"Ms. Kane." He said it professionally and he guarded his voice as he watched her sit down. Perhaps it would have been less obvious if they had shown up separately? Not that the Council would judge them based on something so trivial. Conrad shook his head and sat back down. She slid the silver case onto the table and it made a scratching noise and it moved across the table.

Thanos started to mix the drinks for everyone moving things around. Alicia always seemed to quiet whatever room she happened to enter no matter how joyful things were. Conrad cleared his throat to pull everyone's attention to him. He looked around the room feeling some weight come off of him. It felt much better to know he didn't have to hold this decision on his own. Though he had a feeling he already knew what it would be.

Reva blinked when Illyanna gave her a soft smile, completely different than how she had been acting towards Tori. Then again it was pretty much always like this between the two of them. Tori just like to start the arguments and honestly if she wasn't there she was sure he'd try to attack the other woman. Not that it would get him very far but still..it was best that he was kept under control. She didn't want to have to sew him back together because he got torn up or something.

Tori cringed a little when after giving Reva a smile, Illyanna gave him a sort of creepy smile. "How about I stay right here and you go buy yourself a bear to fix that problem. The day I hug you is the day the world ends." he said, crossing his stuffed arms.

Both Reva and Tori glanced over at the door when someone else came in. Reva just watched the woman and Tori just made an odd face. "Bleh..." he mumbled. This one creeped him out too. She had an icy air about her and she almost always had that sliver case with her. She just looked like some sort of prissed up mad scientist or something. He stayed away from her also.

Reva tapped Tori on the head to stop his thoughts before he decided to say something that would get himself in trouble and glanced over at Conrad when he cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. "So we're starting now?" Tori asked, tilting his head.
