"I was making sure you were responsive," Gabriel said with a roll of his eyes. "Don't be such a baby."
He got serious soon after, though, and helped her down. He wasn't trying to jar and jolt her--nor was he making a huge effort not to, and he didn't feel all that terrible when he did. He finally got her down to ground level and helped her out of her helmet, putting his away with it.
The infirmary was ready for Sabela, according to Siren, so Gabriel slung an arm around her and helped her along, taking the brunt of her weight. This was it. This was the only time he'd be caught this close to Sabela, and only because he had to.
