What was everyone's problem with him all the time? It was thirteen years ago. Thirteen years since he stole a lousy ship and ran away with it JUST because he didn't want to become a guinea pig for TRIM. So what was everyone's problem? It's not like he'd be causing some excessive trouble in society... So why it was him that got shot at and chased? Because of a measly sum at his head? What an INCREDIBLE reason!
Who the living hell would come up with such logic? He'd screw that idiot's head off... If he wouldn't be currently running like hell to save his skin from bullets, flying at him in every direction. This was one of the darker, shadier parts of Cancer where no one would bother trying to stop a bunch of people with guns. Or a person. He didn't even know whether it was one person or more, but the moment he got a bullet through his shirt - which luckily missed him, but left a hole in the black fabric - he started running. It was instinct, and instinct never failed him before.
And he trusted his instincts as he bolted blindly forth as fast as he could.
He could hear them, the metallic clinks of bullets that hit both metal and stone around... They were so close behind his back that his heart and breath was threatening him to speed up even more. Was that even possible? It was racing by now, too, so fast that its sound was deafening in his ears, even more deafening than the sound of stomping and bullets.
It was a mistake to go here.
A vent... That was good... He found a vent. Almost immediately he yanked the cover off and forced his body through, climbing as fast as he could. For a moment he stopped, suddenly realizing that one of the bullets must have grazed his leg as his eyes fell on a crimson stream, running down one of the sides of the vent.
Well, whatever, not like he could stop right now. His hands clenched around one of the edges of the plates, forming the vent, and pushed him up, climbing like a cat up a tree. It went up, down, up, down, till he completely lost all sense of direction. Only then did he punch out the other cover, and fell out, catching his breath.
Something told him that he wasn't completely safe yet... He should get up and continue running. But there didn't seem to be anyone around!

The sound of bullets was what Aemilius was following.
"Aemilius, please note that the target is armed and running, terminate with caution, you were expensive after all." The woman talking to him down the comms was his Handler, Amy, matched psychologically to his personality to keep him in check and in chains for the company.
"Of course Amy, thank you." Aemilius followed, seeing the bounty hunter team chasing his target into a vent. He braced his huge four meter form, and his head peeled back, revealing what looked like a star inside his head. And a mere second later, screams resounded as the men were incinerated by the beam.
The whirring of the nanites composing his skin grew loud as his right arm transformed into a cannon, ready to fire bolts at the wall.
Then he began blowing the wall away, walking forward through the newly forming hole.
"Knock knock, Ryutari Haisaru Tatsuku Maeno. Death is here."

What the hell was that? What... No, no, no, this must be a bad dream!
Ryutari's eyes widened even more, almost into a circular shape despite them normally being almond-shaped and narrow. "...The f**k?" he gasped, immediately jumping to his feet and backing up as he unsheathed the sleek blade, hanging by his waist.
There was a mountain of metal standing right there... A mountain of metal that just said his name. And tried to JOKE. Really, this was beyond his brain to comprehend in the current moment. And so, he relied on his instinct to start running again, turned sideways to the... Something.
The black blade flashed with bright light, resembling a lightning, running down the metal. It charged, with a slight hum heated the air around itself to an insane temperature, turning it into plasma. A similar glow surrounded the blade.
Then, a crescent-shaped shot of that heated plasma was sent at a frighteningly high speed at the mountain of metal. It was almost as wide as Ryu was tall, and it tore the ground, leaving a gash when one tip of the crescent touched it.
"Sorry, I didn't arrange a date!" he shouted back.

Aemilius turned to his target, the piercing orange eyes looking at Ryu like targeting lasers.
"Target acquired. Initiating slaughter." The voice resounded as the wave of plasma hit him, knocking him backwards, before his skin rippled, repairing itself, then slowly beginning to morph into a rubbery substance.
"You clearly haven't heard. I'm indestructible. Nice try though. If I had touch, I bet that would have tickled." His hand morphed into the joust like appendage, and he went to stab his target, readying the other one with an altered version of his cannon, designated structure "automatic".
Then he began to fire off bolts at lightning speed, with lethal precision.

So the plasma bolt didn't destroy the metal mountain, as he nicknamed his pursuer in his mind. Nevermind... He still had his legs to run, and maybe he could outrun the big, slow... Thing!
Though, maybe that wasn't such a good idea, either. He clenched his teeth as something tore his shirt at the shoulder, skewing into his skin. It was fortunate that he managed to shift aside at the right time, otherwise he'd already be missing his left arm completely.
He went to leap up and try to climb onto one of the roofs to avoid the shots that followed, but they were too fast. Only narrowly avoiding them, he got the grip of a windowsill with his left hand, and pulled himself up, the blade still in his other hand. The house wasn't too tall, and he managed to climb up, even though almost meeting a bolt on the way, which burned his side, and where several layers of fabric used to cover his side was now just a burned hole.
Pressing his forearm onto the burned skin, he ran further, trying to catch his breath. It was disgusting to run like that, but what could he do against a huge metal creature that could even get hurt by a high-temperature plasma bolt?
At least he still had both legs and arms and was still running... At least that.

Just as the Ryu climbed into the building and ducked out the way, the beam followed him, scorching the wall, and leaving a heat haze in the air.
"Damn. He's fast." The whirring loudened again, and his "lower rib" area turned into vents, and he found himself ascending, flying to catch his prey.
"But no doubt I fly faster." He scanned the surroundings, seeing the movements of fleeing people, and the sight of a building he had set alight to, and inside was a child.
His personality overrode his objective and he immediately crashed through the roof, taking the child to safety, before resuming his search, using a separate scanner to examine where his prey had fled to.
"Where are you going Mr Maeno?"

Bolting forth by the roof, Ryu only narrowly avoided another blast. After that, his pursuer seemed to be gone, but he didn't let up yet. These folks didn't give up on a running and injured prey that easily... He has been that prey for so many years already that he got used to it.
The roof ended, and he leaped off it, landing in a backstreet, narrow between two houses squashed onto each other. As he managed to roll on the ground upon touching it, he left more blood marks on the stones of the streets. Dammit... He could be tracked down by that, but he didn't have the time to do anything else but press one hand on his shoulder and the other one onto his side.
He was searching for another vent, which would lead him to a better hiding place. Though, there wasn't any around!
A dead end. Wow. Today was really lucky... The way was blocked by a wall!
He unsheathed his katana to blast a hole through it. The air around charged with an immense amount of electricity, gathering around the tip, and remained there for longer than usually. Rivers of plasma ran down the metal, to create a crescent shape before the tip.
Then, he released it. It could be a bad idea, as the blazing, huge blast attracted everyone's eyes, but it was easier than running back... And there was a hole in the wall, leaving a way open to another street.

Aemilius set the child down, his rather sinister appearance betraying the gentle, cold touch of his metal hands.
Then when the explosion went off, his head shot in that direction, and he took off, changing his hands to the joust-like appendages, and preparing to fight.
"Ryu dear, I'm home. Come on out, and give your dearest a kiss..." The last word of the phrase was followed by a clearly digital sound as his nanites chirped and produced ridiculous amounts of noise, responding to the energy signature of the plasma blast.
Then he released a hypersonic sound, and several glasses shattered, and the sound of a bat in the local vicinity echoed as it's eardrums burst.
"Come on out, so I can cook some dinner..."

At the sound of that voice, Ryutari only ran faster. "Leave me alone, you sick metallic pervert! I haven't done anything to anyone!" he shouted back. Except for the five guards incapacitated and one stolen personal spaceship thirteen years ago, he really hasn't. And there wasn't any other reason than that for him to be chased!
He pressed his hands onto the wounds tighter, pulling the shirt over around his side in an attempt to wrap it in it and stop the bleeding, but his attempts were mostly futile. The biggest danger from this could be losing conscience due to blood loss... What would make him an easy target.
Tying the sleeve on his right arm around his side he did somehow manage to patch that place up, even though it then exposed his arm. Well, at least he had one hand free to fight with if it would come to that.

"Now stop that." Aemilius crashed down in front of Ryu, his robot form obliterating the concrete.
"I don't think you want to go that way...." Aemilius growled, the chittering and whirring of nanites louder than ever.
"You have a nice name. Don't know if your headline will fit it. But oh well." His face folded back, revealing the reaction fuelling him, the bright sun ready to fire the deathly beam, the heat flowing into the room.
"Don't worry, this will be quick and painless." Aemilius braced for the laser's release.
"Unfortunately."

At the moment Ryu noticed the android's head opening up, he sensed something bad. It was a feeling he just couldn't deny. Bad stuff was about to happen and he should better back up. He instinctively shifted aside, preparing to leap up to climb up the nearest building.
All the muscles in his legs tensed as he bent his knees, and stretched into a great length as he launched himself up, flying good three meters towards the roof. He ignored the sharp pain, shooting from the scratch on his leg, his burned side and shoulder, and stretched himself as much as he could to grip a nearby windowsill on the second floor, get some more time up in the air, and kick himself off the wall again to finish the leap in a large round, landing behind the metal mountain.
Hitting the ground with the soles of his shoes, he immediately turned to make a roll to ease the impact, and avoid breaking anything, to spring back up as fast as possible, and reveal his sword again. A large current started gathering along its blade, and less than a second later fired a strong blast of incredibly heated plasma at his pursuer. In quick succession as he backed up, he managed to fire three. Three. Hopefully the high voltage and temperature would slow the machine down.

The laser hit the floor, melting the concrete into a molten rock, and then the blasts hit Aemilius, and some nanites screamed as the were superheated.
Then the nanites changed, this time forming into a diamond-like substance, heat resistant and non conductive. He could adapt infinitely, so a meagre three blasts was now nothing.
He smashed the wall down, knowing that he couldn't fly like this. He had even lost the majority of his shape shifting, apart from the laser. This new compound was restrictive, and he disliked that, and so he began working on a way round it as he smashed through walls and windows to reach his prey.
"Come here, poppet."

The creature changed its surface... Ryutari knew that his blasts would no longer work against him as the last one was simply deflected, but this new material allowed him to strike more efficiently. It seemed like pretty easy to shatter...
He charged forwards, running towards the android from the back at full speed. He was ready to release a horizontal strike at it, which would, would he be lucky, end up shattering him from the side. If he'd be lucky...

The strike struck true, and the sound of cracking crystal echoed. Then the material changed, altering itself to a smooth, shiny, almost liquid metal.
But the issue was that it was unstable, and parts of the skin fell off, as the nanites worked to replicate, and began calculating yet another material, trying to conserve nanite replication material.
Again, it changed, this time, to a rock-like material, and he found it hard to move again. He was struggling to find a compound with the right properties. And for a minute, he froze, stuck in indecision.

Immediately spotting an opportunity as the android struggled to create a surface not susceptible to any damage from his attacks, Ryutari charged another blast, but instead or releasing it, he let it wrap around the blade of the sword, heat the metal itself, and create an immensely hot and dangerous layer of plasma, pulsing and shifting along the blade.
He leaped up to strike again, swinging the blade down onto the head of the... Thing, whatever it was. If the material it was currently made of was fragile, it should shatter, and if it was conductive, it would most likely burn out all its circuits. If it was neither...
He was screwed that way, and he'd land on the ground like a sack of potatoes if he wouldn't manage to flip over quickly.

The program finished before the strike hit, but the transformation didn't, and the blade cut through one arm, before hitting the new carbon-like material.
"Now I'm pissed." The head unfolded fast, faster than it had before, and it was this point that Aemilius' game turned into a true hunt, with every intent of slaughtering Ryu as fast as possible.
The laser was propelled out of the robot's head, at blinding speed, aimed straight for Ryu, the angry sound of the laser expanding, pumping out more energy and heat than before, becoming wider and more bright.

Hurling out of the way of the blast as fast as he could, Ryu quickly raised his arms to protect his head, and rolled down onto the side of the road. He clenched his teeth in pain after feeling the heat, soaring from the beam, and he was only fast enough to get most of himself away from danger.
Most of the skin on the upper sides of his forearms and the backs of his hands ended up burned, though successfully avoiding any damage done to his head. Climbing to his feet surprisingly fast for the amount of burns he had on his body, he grabbed the sword by both hands once more. At least he didn't miss an arm like his opponent.
"Looks like your aim isn't so amazing!" he commented through his gritted teeth, charging another blast on the tip of the sword.

The nanites formed a stump, before a loud whir signalled the beginning of repair, and the nanites began rebuilding the arm.
Now his whole body was a matte black metal, and his eyes glowed brighter than before.
"Die!" The other arm formed the spike, and he thrust it at Ryu, hoping that he could swing sideways if he didn't impale him.

The blast was released at the spike as Ryutari put all his strength into the next leap, launching himself rather high, and grabbing onto the closest roof. His muscles protested against the strain pulling himself up in an almost insane speed put on them, but he kept his mouth shut.
"What the f*** have I ever done to you that you're chasing me?" he asked, clutching the blade once again. "I'm not a mass murderer or a drug smuggler. You better go to TRIM and start off a mass slaughter, because if someone deserves to get their brain blasted off, it's them. But you don't give a f*** about that, right?" he burst out.
"What am I thinking? You can't think for yourself..." he growled, and started charging another blast, remaining light on his feet to be able to evade any hit that might be launched at him.

"I'm in it for the money. I have no need for money, for anything, but your demise. And besides. Nothing can stop me if I choose to leave." Aemilius' arm burst out in full, repaired with the last of his resources.
"And besides. TRIM built me. TRIM gave me everything I have. I consider killing you as returning the favour." Aemilius charged up another laser blast, ready to try and obliterate this puny human. His new material was enough, and the nanites had consumed all their resources. Now he just had to fight.

TRIM built it... All the blood started boiling in Ryu's veins. Little strands of plasma appeared in the air around him, cracking and disappearing. If that was how it was, all remorse or holding back in him was gone, and it wouldn't return. It was built by TRIM, it had to be destroyed!
He gripped the handle of his sword, and the moment he saw the mountain of metal charging, he leaped up, his muscles tensing up and stretching like thousands of bowstrings, woven into the figure of a man. And he flew like an arrow, making a turn in the air and leaving a trace of shimmering, heated air behind him.
Landing on the roof on the other side of the street, he begun charging a blast as huge as possible. It didn't only envelop his sword, but also crept up his hands and arms. It was so hot that even he started sweating, though it hovered above his skin and didn't touch him directly. The moment it would be released, it would be an enormous blast. If it would hit the house on the other side instead of the android, it could destroy it completely...

The nanites on the outer layer of Aemilius' skin turned to their original liquid form, and a circuit in his head activated, allowing him more power to servos and motor control. He would be stronger, faster, more agile.
The nanites sectioned, and an orange light crept through the section gaps, getting brighter and brighter, until Aemilius released a beam that collided midway with the plasma burst, creating a gargantuan explosion, with the shockwave knocking Aemilius flying.
"Gah, dammit!"

When Ryutari released the blow, it knocked his own self back. He hit the roof with his back, further tearing his clothes. It was massive, as it crashed against the beam that the android released. He instinctively covered his face with his left arm - getting it even more burned - and pressed himself onto the surface of the roof, breathing heavily.
He would have sworn that his clothes got burned right onto his skin. It hurt, and it was hella difficult to get back up, but he refused to just give up like that. The explosion destroyed a quite large area, five, ten meters around them?
He wasn't even sure if he can charge another blast. His legs felt like rubber, he was barely standing.

Aemilius found himself inside a pile of rubble, and data feeding from his body now indicated he was armless, and his left leg was severely damage.
Deciding that this mission was do or die right now, he broke free of the rubble tearing one leg off and damaging the other, before flying over to Ryutari, and facing the man.
"You are the most skilled adversary I have ever faced. You fight with the ferocity of a man wronged, and I can't help but wonder... Did you really commit the crimes they say you did?"
Aemilius was using his flight mode to support himself, trying to avoid falling over.

"All I did was steal a fighter ship to get out of the way when I was supposed to become another lab rat for TRIM. All I did was defend my own rights." Ryutari replied, wiping off the blood and sweat, flowing down his temples on the right side of his face. His right hand was still clenched around his sword.
Even his vision was getting blurred. It seemed like he really did some damage to his opponent, too, but he himself wasn't exactly in a good shape...
"I don't know what shit they told you, but I'm not a thief, murderer, or anything along the lines."

"You're tone and body language don't indicate that you're lying, neither do your homeostatic static signs. TRIM can't shut me down. Go, I've got some bounty hunters to hurt." Aemilius turned round, having already detected another bounty hunter that had caught on.
The mecha (http://images.wikia.com/codegeassfanon/images/5/5e/DH-11_Basilisk_Knightmare_frame.png) was huge, standing at the same size as Aemilius, and it had its swords drawn, ready to fight.
"Go. I've decided you're innocent, and TRIM can't stop me. I'm allowed to make calls on the battlefield, it's part of my data collection."

Ryutari couldn't do anything but stare through the red veil, slowly falling onto his vision. His own blood was burning him in his eyes, and thinking prove to be rather difficult, even. This thing let him go? But... But why? It could think for itself?
The pieces didn't fit together.
He made a step forwards, but his body collapsed under his own weight, falling onto the broken and burned surface of the roof.

The mecha went to stab Ryu, but Aemilius threw himself in the way, opening up his core at the front, and uploading his consciousness to the TRIM ship.
As the core was exposed to more elements, a runaway reaction began, and suddenly a directed explosion went off, vaporising the heavy mecha, and leaving the smell of metal in the air.
Somewhere nearby, another TRIM bounty hunter closed in, but the sound of something nearby frightened them, and from the elevator, stepped another Aemilius, the body fresh and new, built in the event that Aemilius' original form was damaged or destroyed, and his consciousness could be uploaded.

For a moment, Ryu regained his consciousness among the rubble, to notice the new robot. His hazy sight didn't recognize the android he fought before in that shape, and he naturally assumed it was another bounty-hunter going after him.
He raised himself to his knees and elbows as he could, smearing the blood from his forearms all around himself, and attempted to stand up, though still shaking. He was in no condition to fight now... Running would be the best choice.

A low sound (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qJQlfMMNmw) emanated from the new version of Aemilius, and it's whole nature was different. It was an entirely different character.
But before it could move, it was ripped apart by a rocket blast from behind it. This blast had resulted from the bounty hunter (http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/061/c/4/Female_Bounty_Hunter_Design_by_JakeGreen.jpg) behind the robot. Albeit with a different mission.
To protect Ryu.
Her jetpack ignited, and she soared to the heights of the cavern, scanning for her targets. Ever bounty hunter after Ryu was scouring the rooftops. And one by one, her sniper took them all out, each one outfitted for the close quarters of the city below.

All the noise behind him made Ryu turn around. He watched the bounty hunter as he attempted to quickly escape, however, in the state he was in 'quickly' meant 'slower than walking pace'. But that was just what he was like - he'd keep crawling even if he'd be on the verge of death.
There was nothing like giving up. That bounty hunter gave him enough time to crawl into a backstreet, where could finally drop down with his back to the wall of a house, and catch his breath. With the corner of his eye, he still watched the strange figure that appeared out of nowhere, though - the strange figure that, by some strange accident, just saved his ass.

She saw something move in the corner of her scope, a flicker, and as she adjusted, she saw Ryu. She had to protect him. She had to.
"Found you." She said.
As if on cue, a bounty hunter rounded the corner, and as he drew his gun, the sound of the laser searing a hole in him would be the world Ryu experienced. Except for the loud sound of the sniper rifle, splattering the insides of the bounty hunter over concrete.
"Boom. Headshot."

It was nothing but instinct that made Ryutari raise his arms before his head at the expected attack, which he noticed in the last moment. But there was no attack. All he saw was that weird bounty hunter... Why was that person helping him?
It's not like he had anyone that would send her after him.
Butterfly?
No, definitely not Butterfly. She was gone for ages and hasn't contacted him since. Besides, she's already done enough for him. But then who...?
He was getting too old for this shit.

A bounty hunter ran past her, and her data-tracker told her the man's name.
"Hey, Bosy, catch." She threw her sniper to the man, who caught it.
Just in time for it to go into meltdown, as the searing heat made the air around it ignite, engulfing Bosy in a ball of flame.
She watched, before drawing her pistols and flying by another bounty hunter, and riddling him with bullets, leaving him floating in shell casings and blood.
Finally, she landed by Ryu.
"Oh my gawd! I am so excited to meet you, I'm Skarlett, big fan by the way, got hired to help you, someone said they want you alive, well and working, just doing my job, but oh my god, you're hurt..." The words spewed from her mouth at blinding pace, as if she had drunk loads of coffee and now it had kicked her system into overdrive.
"Oh no... They hurt you..."

For a moment, Ryutarinonly stared at her. That woman sure talked fast... Big fan? Got hired to get him? Wow. Nothing made sense at all... Well, guess that cluelessness would have happened. He only managed to stop giving her a completely blank stare when she mentioned his beat-up state.
"Uh. It's nothing." Just two moderately deep cuts, three large burns, blood loss and countless smaller bruises and scratches. "I'm fine." Not in the slightest.
He held onto the wall behind him to demonstrate he really was fine, but it somehow... Took more effort than he expected, and he was forced back down. Damn.
"Maybe not completely, but I have yet to kick the bucket."

"OOOOOH, I got this cool new gel that a friend suggested, she says that it's great for aging and stuff, and she buys loads cause she wants to stay looking all young and stuff, but she also said it's really good for helping heal injuries, and it can do lots of other stuff, it's really good polish, and surprisingly nice to flavour food with, and it's completely safe to eat and stuff, so like, I use it for everything, so you can have some for your burns and cuts!" She blurted out, spewing her tale in a matter of seconds, and producing a canister, attaching it to a nozzle on her wrist bracer.
"I wonder how the canister will work with my flamethrower nozzle, it should be fine, I mean, the canister says inflammable, and that means it can't get set on fire right? Or does it? WAIT. I think it means it can be set on fire. No, it can't mean that, it has an "in-" prefix, it has to mean it can't be set on fire." She pressed a release, and a small burst of flame came out.
"OH SHITE." She panicked, letting the button go, and taking the canister out.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry."

"God help me. "Ryu muttered, giving her another almost-blank stare of his narrow eyes. "Geez, just let it be." This girl was a fast talker but oh, lord, did she seem dumb!
He untied the shirt that he has lousily placed around his shoulder and side in combat, and tore it to a few smaller pieces. He wasn't a kid anymore, he could take care of himself... With a few cautious moves - as not to move his body too much to avoid more pain - he took even the tight (and largely destroyed) tank top off, quite well getting all of his body from just waist up exposed, and tied the pieces of his shirt around the biggest wounds. There was t enough... Even after tearing up the top, most of his arms was still exposed.
"Do you have any clothes you don't need?" he asked the girl bleakly.

"Um, I would give you my cape, but my cape is far too valuable for that. See, this cape cost me 400 creds, and it was on a recommendation from a friend who thought that it would match my old armour, but I didn't like it, so I thought, I can't let the cape go to waste, so I got myself this armour, and it works so much better with this look." Without even looking, she drew her pistol, and domed a bounty hunter one rooftop over.
"And besides, the colour was way off, this cape is more of a violet, while my old armour had royal purple under the plating, so the colours didn't match at all, it was terrible, and my friend said it looked good, and I was like "Only if rainbow is the new fashion". God, some people just don't understand that armour is about looks. If you're armour isn't cool and/or intimidating, what is the damned point of wearing it?!" With one hand, she manually applied the gel, while a bounty hunter tried to sneak up on her and Ryu, and got a face full of flamethrower.
"Ugh, and my old armour was more gun metal grey, while this is more gun metal silver, I just love this so much more, it's even got worn steel highlights!"

"Uhm... Fine... I don't care what it is, I just need something to tear up and wrap around my arms." he muttered, rolling his eyes over. How could she talk so much, and about something so irrelevant when they were in a serious situation?
Though... The way she casually disposed of all the bounty-hunters was nearly amazing.

"I know!" She dropped everything she was doing and took a sprinting leap off the rooftop, flying over to the bounty hunter who had been shot, and bringing him back to Ryu.
"He doesn't need his clothes anymore, and besides, he has no taste in fashion. Oh my god, those shoes DO NOT match that belt, and the colours are just off. The trousers are a concrete grey but the t-shirt is cement grey. And the armour plating isn't a bright enough white. Ugh, people have no sense these days." She heard a bounty hunter cock a gun, and instantly huffed.
"Can you give me a minute with my target, honestly, do you people not have any decency? I know someone just like you, who interrupts every sentence with something she just HAS to say, no respect for what anyone says." She spun round, shooting one of his knee caps, throwing the knife from the corpse she had brought over into the other, and shooting a grapple cord into him, pulling him over, punching him in the stomach and throwing him to the ground before torching him.

"Whatever..." Ryu mumbled to himself as she finally finished talking, and quickly took off all the bounty-hunter's softer clothes that he could use. It was enough, and less damages than his own - in the end, he ended up not only managing to somewhat bandage his wounds, but also wipe the blood and sweat off the rest of himself and pull the T-shirt he used to do that over his head. After all, it would be too suspicious - even more than a bloodied T-shirt - to go around shirtless in that state.
Finally, he managed to stand up and approach her, although he kept a hand on the wall - just to be sure.
"Do you have any water?" he asked her silently.

"Water, that's the liquid stuff isn't it? Oh, yeah, sorry, I had a dumb moment there, yeah, I have water, just let me find it in my pack." She reached into her bag, and sighed.
"For gods sake, that's the last time I let her choose a bag for me, everything has moved around. I told her, Maureen, Varia bags aren't good, they don't freeze your stuff kinetically to avoid breakages, they just compress, but no, she insisted on getting me a Varia bag that suited my armour. And the colour has faded on it too, so it's not even the same colour anymore, and it's just the worst." She pulled out a bottle of water and handed it to Ryu.
She suddenly armed a grenade, and bounced it round a corner, listening to the explosion and scream as someone got plasma burns from a high energy plasma grenade.
"Oh, good to know that they do work."

Already having given up on listening to that fashion nonsense, Ryu simply downed the bottle of water as it was, and handed it back. "Thanks. We should get a move on... This is a bad place to fight, at least for me." he uttered then. The narrow street with its walls close to each other was not at all good for the blasts of plasma he used.
Though, if she could get an advantage in such a terrain, he'd back off. Even though he wanted to fight back... No. There was t a chance.

The sound of a group of bounty hunters approaching filled the alleyway where she had thrown the grenade, and she sighed.
"Well, this is a dead end. Cover your ears, this is gonna get LOUDDDD!" She bent over, and the head of her jetpack flew at the wall, revealing itself to be a missile, and it shattered the wall.

"Oh boyyyssss... Come give your new toy a play with..."

"How can I trust you about going there?" Ryu muttered, giving her a wary glance of his narrow eyes. He knew nothing about this girl... He couldn't trust her.
His hand sled down to the hilt of the sword he carried. He has already recovered enough to make a stand, though not for long... If anything attacked him right now, he was on his guard, and could defend himself.

A laser bolt cut her shoulder open, and she screamed.
"OH NOW YOU'VE DONE IT, ASSHOLES, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH THIS STUFF COSTS ME EVERY YEAR?! DO YOU EVEN HAVE A CONCEPT OF MONEY CONSERVATION OR DO YOU SPEND IT ON WHORES, DRUGS, BOOZE AND CHEAP THRILLS YOU COMPLETE TWATS?!" As she spoke, she drew her pistols.
"NOW YOU PAY, WITH YOUR LIVES!" She blasted them with bullets, the unbelievably loud sound of her pistols firing off a ridiculous amount of laser bolts and shredding the four bounty hunters to pieces, leaving little more than holes with strings of flesh.
"Now do you trust me?"

Narrowing his eyes further, till they became little more than thin slits, Ryutari shook his head. "No. But I can't be picky." he responded, pulling the blade out of its sheath. It cracked with electricity as his hand clenched around it a little tighter, and he made a step forth. He wasn't in a position to let his guard down...
"Let's go. I know this place well enough..." he urged her to hurry up, backing down the alley with a speed really surprising for someone that beat-up.

She smiled under her helmet, ignoring the plasma burn on her arm, and flying upwards, following him over the city, shooting anyone she deemed a threat, and just generally wreaking havoc, watching her wrist rockets wreak mayhem, using her grappling cord to throw people off roof tops and flying shoulder first into people to try and take out the rather large number of bounty hunters that TRIM had sent after them.
"How about now sweetheart? You trust your future wife now?" She shouted down as she sniped an oncoming enemy.

Future wife? Man, that girl must have been crazy...
He ignored the question and kept rushing through the streets. It was more exerting than expected, but he could feel the improvement of his body through training and experience. If this would have happened even two years ago, he wouldn't be able to run. Yes, it was definitely better.
But the number of bounty-hunters after him was unnerving. He wasn't that valuable a target at all... Well, his electrogenesis was a rare ability, but he was still only one man.
What was going on?

Unbeknownst to Ryu, a price now lay on his head. One far higher than the TRIM price. A price set by an organisation with vast amounts of money. The private outfit of Noradien, owner or the Mandalore Corporation, and private contractor for security.
"Let's just hope my family don't catch up. If they do, then we'll both die pretty quickly." She shouted, using her flamethrower to incinerate an enemy.
She took to the air again, and saw that she was too late. More people, of varying sizes, had arrived, all donning the same armour as her.
"Oh shit."

It was only a matter of a few moments before Ryutari noticed the commotion... This wasn't natural.
"F***. F***!" he shouted, speeding up to the maximum he could reach. The electricity, cracking along his sword, grew. He could set some stuff on fire and get away like that... Or attempt to damage the lights around...
The metal was charged completely, to the point where it became white-hot and the very air around it shimmered. It took a considerable amount of energy to do that, but if this would succeed...
"Girl! Get down!" he shouted, before leaping up to the window of one of the houses around, and using its windowsill to launch himself to the nearest street lamp.
All of the insane amount of electricity was passed onto the lamp. And it burned out.
That was, or so it looked, all. He landed in a not-too-graceful roll on the ground, hitting his shoulder. So it didn't work... Damn.
At that moment, he wished he would have listened more at school.

The four other men, all in identical armour to Suzy, took flight, focusing on her.
Soon enough the air was a mix of jet packs, lasers, rockets, flame throwers and other weapons. When all weapons were exhausted and no-one was injured, and jet packs had run out of fuel, Suzy stood off against the men in the street, her Photonium Blade humming and glowing.
"You shouldn't have sold the boss out, it wouldn't have had to come to this Suzanna. You made a bad mistake, and now you will pay with your life. The boss will reward me handsomely for making sure you don't talk." The man activated his blade, which is bright green, while the other three drew theirs, the mix of blue, green, orange and purple glowing brightly in the street.
Suzy drew her blades. "My name is Skarlett." She turned her second blade on, both red blades glowing brightly.
"And I won't die today."

Ryutari grabbed her by the shoulder. "Hey. Step back. I don't need you to do this..."
He gripped his blade tightly, and surprisingly gently made his way before Skarlett, shielding her with his own body. "Go now. I'll entertain them." he muttered towards her.
"You trash think so highly of yourselves that you'd attack a woman, and all at once?" he growled, taking a stance, ready to fight. He could get her a few minutes to run away...
"Just a scum would slaughter her like that. And for a piece of trash like that, there isn't a difference between life and death."
He drew a sharp breath in. "I don't give a shit about what is between you. Talk it out while you die here like the worthless scum you are, can you?"

Skarlett stood her ground.
"Appreciate the help Ryu." She set the cables on her wrists to her blades and then she charged them.
"Slaves to your master's will, and what is there to show for it?" She struck out, parrying two different attacks, and striking back at them, clipping one on the leg, and missing the other.
"Hah, sister, you forget, you were always the weakest." The one in red said, before throwing his sword at her, the blade spinning, and his hand controlling it telekinetically.

The hilt was met with something different than a sword.
Ryu's blade was held across a portion of air, shimmering in the heat of the red-hot metal. A wide crescent of extremely heated plasma left several burned armor pieces, and a moment of hesitation.
It was bigger than he maybe should have released, and left his head spinning for a moment, leaving him hardly able to avoid the attack that was charged at him, but in the last moment before a blade would come crashing at him, he hit the arm that wielded it with the hard tip of his boot, and spinning created some distance between himself and his attacker once again.
A number of plasma bolts, smaller, but in a very fast succession, were fired at anything that dared make its way and attack him, or Skarlett.

Skarlett saw the one person with the dual ended blade, and decided that he was the one she needed to attack.
"Let me attack the green one, keep the others occupied." She said to Ryu, running and using the last of her jetpack fuel to jump over the others.
Her two separate blades collided with his double blade, and a frenzy of light ensued as he and her fought rapidly, their blades colliding time after time. That was before the leader of them all pulled her second blade away, leaving her to fend of a double blade with one sword.

With a nod, Ryu turned around to face the closest adversary that came to fight him. These bounty hunters were just humans, and not too skilled, either...
He came at him with a strike that seemed awfully obvious at first, to be blocked, but immediately after followed with his left fist, covered in a layer of hot plasma. It was burning his own skin, and he was on the verge of howling in pain, but it worked well as a surprise attack, and disposed of three men in a rather fast succession.
No one would expect him to go this far... For a moment, the plasma disappeared, but instead his blade started to heat up. Too many people were coming at him at once... After releasing a large blast, he leaped up, to get himself as high as possible above them, and get somewhere, anywhere, where he'd avoid being attacked from all directions. He succeeded in jumping over them, and landing behind their ranks...
He could entertain them and take them away from Skarlett for some time, but not long...

The one Skarlett now faced was as skilled as she was, and the majority of the battle was merely a stalemate, and clashing of blades. No one gained an advantage as they performed an intricate dance.
Eventually, when both combatants felt their energy fading, they began to make near fatal mistakes, until by luck, Skarlett saw an opening, and using the last of her strength, swung upwards past his blade, cutting him in half, her blade cutting straight through his armour.
"Nice try... Ass... Hole..." She tried to catch her breath, before deciding she had no choice but to jump into the fray again. Not if she wanted her husband to survive.
"I'm coming... Honey... Give me a minute..."

The large group of bounty-hunters was giving Ryu a hard time. He was far more skilled than them, but they had strength in numbers, and he was tired. After some time, they started getting to him despite their thinning numbers, and he was bleeding again.
Luckily, Skarlett has defeated her opponent. He bought her enough time to do that... The rest was just a few men that needed to be dealt with. Nothing serious...
A blade brushed against his shoulderblade, and he ducked just in time to avoid having it sliced off, stabbing the attacker with his own sword. Nice. Another one dealt with...
But the time was running out... He didn't know for how much longer he can last fighting like this.

Skarlett ran over, using energy she didn't have to get to Ryu, slicing up her old comrades like they were mere paper.
"No-one hurts my Ryu!" She took the blade from one of the corpses of the dead, and began her dual wielding spree, killing most of the bounty hunters with sheer speed and ferocity, feeling her muscles begin to tear and snap.
That was, until a bounty hunter who had only just arrived flamed her. Her armour caught fire, and she began to drop piece of it, eventually throwing away her helmet to reveal her face (http://media.animevice.com/uploads/0/4479/490508-kallen_2.png).
"Gah! I didn't need that armour anyway..."

Ryu took his chance when the bounty-hunter was too busy with Skarlett to step before her, and release a large bolt of plasma straight into his figure. The repulse from the release sent him back - and he only narrowly avoided hitting her.
He stumbled, to regain his balance shortly after.
She was quite good-looking, to tell the truth...

She tried to stand, but the multitude of torn and damaged muscles meant she had no chance. Instead she just looked at her hands, and began to remember the things that her former comrades had once called her.
Defective, useless, a waste of cloning material, no match for the original, helpless, weak, wrong. And she felt tears come to her eyes.
She couldn't move, she couldn't fight and all she could think of was every name she'd been called.

Even without knowing what is happening, Ryu acted instinctively, and grabbed Skarlett by the shoulder to hold her and protect her while he himself was making his way further back in order to get some distance between himself and his attackers. Even despite the protests of his burned arm, he clutched her, and sending blast after blast of shimmering crescents of plasma, the number of those after him gradually descended.
Gradually... Too slowly. At this rate, he wasn't going to...
No. There was nothing like that. He grit his teeth and raised his sword once again, gathering his strength to send a huge blast to block the way and burn his remaining opponents. The moment it left the blade, he could feel it pushing him back, and he collapsed to his knees, still holding Skarlett in his arms.
A single man was left, in the scraps of what used to be armour, from about eight.

Forcing herself to raise her pistol, she aimed at the last man, and let the blaster bolt fly.
For a split second, it seemed to her that she had hit, and that now she was going to live, along with Ryu. She felt her spirits drop as the bullet flew past the bounty hunter, and hit a wall, leaving a signature scorch mark.
Then, before she could say her final prayer, Aemilius let his laser fly at the bounty hunter, incinerating the man.
"You're both safe now..."

The mountain of metal again? What was this now? It appeared to be helping, but... Could they really be that sure?
He didn't stop holding his sword before himself and Skarlett, and gave the android a long and rather suspicious gaze. "What is it now? Did you come to help, or try to kill me?" he asked. The ways this thing acted were straight-out confusing for him.

"Aemilius! I take it you decided TRIM weren't worth it?" Skarlett went to stand, but found herself weak kneed, so instead stayed where she was.
"Yes, they aren't worth the time really, and the small group you are part of is good, so I'll stick with you guys for now." He held out his hand, incinerating another oncoming bounty hunter.
"TRIM didn't count on me being able to hack and delve into my base code."

"So you've decided to tell TRIM to f*** off, or are you just playing this?" Ryu questioned him. He tried hard not to let on what a bad state he was in, and despite kneeling on the ground, he tried to keep his composure.
It didn't look like Aemilius was there to get him and bring him to TRIM, but if 13 years of a runaway's life taught him something, it was to never trust anyone.
