"Yeah, he's a saint," Temple said, letting his annoyance come through even though it was probably a bad idea. He needed to suck up to him right now, not antagonize him.

"I thought we were past this," he said, aware of how long this was taking. That guy wouldn't wait forever. "Can I go or not?"

Cyrus let out a long sigh, shooting a glower down at his half-finished drink, and then looking back up to Temple. "Yeah, fine," he grumbled. "Just don't be too long, and..."

He trailed off, a frustrated look crossing his face.

Temple wheeled to go as soon as Cyrus answered in the affirmative, but apparently it wasn't going to be that easy. He hovered, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Cyrus didn't answer with words. Instead he grabbed Temple by the wrist and tugged him down to be on his level--so he could smash his lips to Temple's.

Temple allowed it longer than he should have. Maybe it made him a terrible person, but he'd wondered so many times what it would be like to kiss Cyrus breathless, and Cyrus had that grip on his wrist, that demanding, possessive grip...

It was the heavy taste of alcohol on Cyrus's mouth that reminded him. He didn't pull out of Cyrus's grasp, but he did turn his head away to break the kiss.

"You're so drunk right now."

"Well I know that," Temple said, trying to keep it light and keep the conversation going so Cyrus didn't do anything else he would regret in the morning. Cyrus's hand clamped around his wrist was sending unfortunate signals to his body, but he ignored that.

He sighed, resigning himself to a lost evening, and used Cyrus's grip on him to try and get the man to his feet. "Let's just go home."

Cyrus stumbled to his feet and staggered, bumping into Temple and thrusting a hand out to catch them both before they toppled. He wrapped his arm around Temple's shoulders and pressed in close--which, unfortunately for Temple, meant he had to bear the brunt of Cyrus's weight.

Because man was the ground rocking, the moment he stood up. He'd felt so stable sitting down.

"Shit...I guess I am drunk," he said, and snorted a laugh. "Fuck. Ya smell great."

"It's just the scent of desperation," Temple muttered. He got a hold of Cyrus's arm, braced his own feet, and managed to get them walking. Hopefully the cold cave air outside would help clear Cyrus's head.

Cyrus leaned in and took a draft of his hair, nose tickling against Temple's ear. "...Well...my shampoo."

"Huh, weird. Almost like I've been using your shampoo for weeks, isn't it?"

Outside, finally! Supporting Cyrus was way easier without the milling bodies of the club all around them. "Nighttime" in Teinar meant most of the artificial sunlight was off, the heat dissipating upward to leave the city chilly and damp.

Gods alive. Cyrus was so gone he didn't even know what he was doing. And Temple was starting to wonder just how much Cyrus actually needed his support to walk.

Another sigh. "Why couldn't you have done this when you were sober?"

Not really a question for Cyrus to answer. More rhetorical. More aimed at the universe that kept screwing him over. This was all just part of his shit luck. Go out to get laid, fail at that, go home with the one guy he really wanted to mess around with when he was too drunk to accept the offer.

But since Cyrus could walk mostly on his own, Temple at least was able to get out from under his weight and pick up their pace. Thankfully Cyrus's place wasn't that far away, now.
