The dragon retreated as soon as the toxins were released. He wasn’t going to risk either of their lives for Bevyn.

I will find you.The psychic message was delivered to Bevyn with such intensity that he stirred slightly from his slumber.

Emrys was all rage. Not exactly sad, but fucking pissed off. This was his son’s fault, but he still wanted the idiot back. No one fucked with his family. He was going to fucking kill that nanny who’d lost him.

Not surprisingly, Emrys answered the phone call, also not supervising you, it wasn’t his son who answered.

That demand was... What fucking priestess? Also, they clearly didn’t understand the situation properly. Pilots while they lived very privileged lives, were essentially slaves. They were subject to torture or death if they weren’t perfectly obedient to the dragon that for all intents and purposes owned them. Not only did Emrys not know what the abductors wanted to know, he couldn’t give them anything.

Emrys felt a threat from Hojgher that wasn’t given real words or definition. Of course, he knew what that phone call entailed. Emrys sent what he hoped was interpreted as a soothing and reassuring response. It was difficult to transmit anything other than rage at the moment. I’m loyal. They will get nothing from me. They wouldn’t even if he could, he simply did not believe that they would return his son unharmed either way.

Maybe we can use this to our advantage though... if they intend to contact me again.

Hojgher flew straight for the citadel, and landed in the airy at the top. He'd never been allowed up there before. This was... dragon only territory. It made him nervous. When he climbed off or Hojgher, his hands and legs had several cuts on them. There were places that scales and bits of tech had torn threw his clothes, even the rubber and leather of his shoes were cut threw in some places, though they had protected his feet enough to leave them free of injury. Without a proper flight suit, dragon riding could be dangerous if all you were doing was riding. Especially without a saddle.

There were several other dragons on the landing. They closed in on him threateningly. Despite himself, Emrys moved instinctual so that Hojgher was between him and them. Not that that would do him any good, if they meant him harm. What came next was a mental barrage of questions, almost too rapid for him to answer. He sorted them out in his head and then answered them one by one.

The interrogation was mentally and emotionally draining, and it lasted a few hours. When he was finally released, he headed for the lead rooms. He needed some silence to think.
