It was well past evening and well into night by the time Yamato finally tottered tiredly back to the dorm room he had located earlier in the day. Wow. One day here, and he was already wiped. What was it going to be like once he actually started his classes?
And he hadn't even really done all that much today, other than meet his mentor and look around the ATC a little. It was the information overload. One day and he already had so much new information to take in that his brain was spinning trying to process it all. And yet, he was going to have to make sense of it - and adapt to this new lifestyle, overwhelming as the change might be - soon. Or face the music.
He'd reached his room. Yamato slipped in and closed the door behind him, leaning back for it for a moment with eyes closed. He opened them to take in the small, spartan room with its twin beds, twin desks and single terminal - sparse and unwelcoming as ever, that much hadn't changed since the morning. With one major difference.
This time, his roommate was in.
Yamato stared with interest at the other boy for a moment before raising a hand in a small wave. "Hi?" he said tentatively.
