"Guh..." Vedrit grumbled, his stomach rumbling, reminding him of the missed meals.
He had never been on-station for so long since leaving the academy.
"Food..." he mumbled, heading off to the cafeteria. He had had enough of the pubs, cafes, restaurants, and just wanted food. Nothing fancy, so catchy music playing in a partying atmosphere. He just wanted something...boring.

When Vedrit got to the cafeteria, he just stood in line, not really looking at what he was getting, and he really didnt care, so long as it was edible.
Add a cup of water, and Vedrit was set, Earth-style sandwich and all. With all the other places to grab a bite, it was no suprise that the cafeteria had a lot of room, a few tables completely empty.

"Food..." Vedrit mumbled again, sitting down to eat

Luci walked in the general direction of the cafeteria, her ears perked forward and her tail swishing slowly behind her; she had been trying to fix a pilot's plane but after an argument and a few flying objects she had decided that food was the answer.

"FOOOOOOOOOOOD!" she burst into the cafeteria with a loud shout before casually walking to the line Hmm i hope they've got curry...though there arn't many here so there should be some left luci thaught to herself a wide grin set on her face, she swiftly glanced around checking her surroundings for nothing in particular.
After assulting the room with her hungry stare she grabbed a tray and loaded it up with curry, rice balls, an apple and a can of relentless "Mmm they sure have stocked up good! all the best earth classics!" her laughed to herself and began walking to a random table, she sat down next to an average looking man "Hey" she waved at the man before eating her curry, her pupils now streched out into slits.

Vedrit raised an eyebrow to the spontaneous company. Another "interesting" person. So many of them on Libra.
"Yo." was Vedrit simple reply, then kept eating. Not that he was against the company, its just he was hungry, and the company was female. He always became more withdrawn around women. Especially when they looked like cat-people. Fetishes, *giggle giggle*
"They had curry?" he asked, seeing what he was eating. He liked curry, especially really spicy curry. He even went so far as to learn the history of the dish. An Idian dish, adopted by Asian cultures.

Luci smiled and opened the can of relentless taking a quick sip before replying "Yeah they had curry! chicken madras to be precise" her smile widened to a smirk as she eyed up what the man has been eating "Hmm seems you got short changed with your uhh...sandwich" she giggled and started eating one of the rice balls.
Damn this guy must of been half asleep when he got his food..a sandwich is not a meal... she thaught to herself pulling a face when she realised that it was kind'of mean to critisize someones food choice.
"Hey umm a random question! whats your name?" she looked at the man and tilted her head to the side slightly, her fringe swishing across her face to cover her green eye and reveal her blue one.

"I should have payed more attention..." he mummbled, although chicken madras didnt sound like a familiar curry dish, "Oh well. A sandwich is still food."

Again, Vedrit raised his eyebrow. This chick was preatty energetic. Good thing it wasnt contagious. "Vedrit. Some call me V, some Ved. You?" he asked. It was only fitting he ask her name. If he was going to make new friends *cough* he should atleast know the persons name. Otherwise, it would get awkward, always calling the other person by "Hey!" or "Pal" or something.

"Im luci! but you can call me lu or umm 'c'? or just luci if you want" she laughed at her lack of nicknames and pushed her plate in vedrits direction "If you get bored of the sandwich you could try some! i know im not going to eat all that, well not until i want to kill all my taste buds" she grinned and picked up her apple;taking a quick bite out of it, her eyes lighting up as the sweetness filled her mouth. Mmmm i love apples! im so glad that we have them here in libra! she thaught to herself her tail swishing from side to side slowly.

Vedrit was beggining to wonder if Luci was too energetic for him. It was like trying to mix water and heavy oil; It just doesnt work.

"I think I'll go with Lu." Vedrit said, then smiling as a joke came to mind "Lu zer." he mumbled, hoping Luci didnt hear. It wasnt nice, but it was funny.
"Have you seen a show called Wolf Spice? You remind me of one of the characters in it." What? Small talk? OMGNOWAY!
"But I think I'll stick with my sandwich. Its not bad, in a classic old-Earth kind of way. Maybe we can share a meal later." he said dismissivly, completely unaware that it could be interpreted as a requset for a "date"

Luci looked at vedrit her eyes looking somewhat darker "What was that ved? hmm?" she narrowed her eyes at the man, a smirk placed on her lips.
She shook her head at his question and smiled happily her previous look completly gone "If theres a character you think is like me then i might have to watch it, just too see if i'll like what im being compared too" she grinned and pulled her plate back, taking another bite of her apple "Sure thing! i hope you know im holding that meal too you" she giggled and continued to munch on her apple.

"Oh, Im sure you'll like being compared to her. Witty, energetic, and a god." He explained, purposfully leaving out a select few other adjectives.
"So Lu. What do you like to do?" Ved asked, popping the last bit of his sandwich into his mouth, and wondering, in the back of his mind, what he was going to do with the rest of his "day". Probably find another freighter to escort, maybe do some meintenance. It didnt help that he was bored with the station already.

"Witty! energetic and a god! il love her already!" she grinned her ears perking forward.
"Umm...well i like fixing things! thats why i became a mechanic and uhh i love drawing and painting! its calming after a stressful day" she finnished the last of her apple and laughed quietly to herself as somthing popped into her head "I hope you dont mind but i like to eat the apple cores too" she took a bite of the apple core and swallowed it down with ease "So how about you? what do you like to do?" she asked wondering what sort of person ved was.

"Im something of a mechanic myself," he leaned forward a bit, "but its more for my own ship, rather than fixing others. I love flying, mostly out in space."
He didnt mind her eating apple cores. Sure, it was wierd, but its not like it hasnt been done before.
"I dont think there is anything as great as flying. The freedom, the smooth, complete control over the ship, its grace as it speeds along. You dont know what your missing." he said, unable to restrain a smile

"Hmm it does sound rather nice! you'll have to take me flying somtime" she finnished off the last of the core and looked around at her suroundings; she had never really looked at the cafeteria, it was just a place were she ate curry and occasionally just sat to think about things.
"So how long have you lived on libra?" she asked looking at vedrit curiously.

"Lived on? Eh...About 18 standard years. The last 8 have been spent out and about. I call my ship home more than Libra." Vedrit answered, "And if your done, we can go flying now. Im not doing anything." he added, wanting to show off his ship, skills, and ego.

"oh i see, sounds like fun! sorta' like an adventure" she grinned and streched her arms out so she didnt get stiff from sitting in the same position "Really? flying now! hell yes!" she jumped up out of her seat and grabbed her can of relentless, downing it quickly before throwing the can in the trash and putting her plate in the wash up pile "Lets go! i've never been flying before, it sounds pretty silly right? but i just never have" she tilted her head to the side and began daydreaming about what it would be like, her tail wagging happily behind her.

"One condition though," Vedrit said as he stood, "Its a tight fit for two people, so you'll have to calm down a bit." he didnt design his ship to fit two comfortably, only make two fit.
"Follow me." he said, trying to snap her out of her obvious day-dreaming session to lead her to the docking deck.

"Ok i'll calm down" she smiled and rubbed the back of her neck slightly embarrassed at how excited she could get.
She followed him obediently her eyes wide and curious "so how did you get into being a pilot? was it somthing you always wanted to do?" lilly asked thinking about how she had gotten into mechanics; it was really an accident...but it was a good one none the less.
I bet being a pilot is really exciting...

"Origionally," Vedrit began, leading the way, "I joined the Libra Academy. A youngling like me was easily drawn by the glamor and glory the military puts on. They found I had sufficient skill, or showed enough potential, to be trained as a pilot, so they did. When it came time to decide to further my military career, or pick something else, I found that military life wasnt for me, so I picked something else."
As they entered the docking bay, Vedrit checked in, and informed the officer he would be leaving station, then led the way to his ship, continuing his answer "But yeah, I always wanted to be a pilot. The reasons why I love it are the reasons I pursued it. But I didnt want to fly stock, standard ships. I wanted to fly a ship that was made for me, by me. A ship that fit me like a glove, and that I understood. Ontop of flying, I know about spaceship mechanics and maintenance. Not as much as you, no doubt, but enough to make sure my baby doesnt fall apart in the vacuum or entering atmosphere."

His ship wasnt much to look at. It was no sportscar of spaceships, but it certainly ran like one, and with the carrying capacity of a small frieghter. Two v-shaped wings held twin large-calibor ballistic machine guns.

"Hmm..so the militry is nothing like it looks then? thats so weird.." lucia smiled slightly as she listened to vedrit "So is flying like super fast and scary? do you have to dodge rocks and stuff? in space yanno' like astroids?" she asked thinking about stories other people had told her "To me it sounds pretty scary..i mean if your going really fast and you have to suddenly stop or swerve around somthing you've got to have really good reflexes!" she looked at vedrit her eyes wide and filled with admiration.

"Wow! cool ship!" lucia looked at the ship, her mind assessing the quality of the ship "Definately looks like a good one, like one of those ships that dont look completely amazing but run perfectly and are generally super awesome" her smile faultered slightly as a wave of nervousness washed over her "Um...i know you probably like to zoom along as fast as you can but...could you take it abit easier...im quite nervous.." she bit her lip and looked down at her feet feeling ashamed of showing such an emotion.

Vedrit smirked, and when he couldnt hold it back anylonger, laughed outloud.
"No, its not like that, unless you fly into an asteroid belt or something, otherwise, the armor can take a beating. Something about the forces of the vacuum of space pulling on the hull canceling the impact of space dust. Reflexes are good for tight spaces, like asteroid belts, or crowded space, or fights. Otherwise, I just let auto-pilot zoom me around, as you put it." Vedrit said, hoping he didnt come across as angry or something. For him, flying was like walking. You can twist your ankle, or the flooring could be poor and you could fall to your death, but people dont think about it because it rarely happens.
"Though stopping or suddenly turning at high speeds can cause issues. No matter how good our technology is, our insides tend to slow down slower than the rest of us. But I dont mind taking it slower. Just a leisurely trip around the station. Im guessing you've never been out side the station." he opened the cockpit and motioned for Luci to climb into the second seat, "There wont be much leg room, but this isnt exactly a luxury cruiser. I'll have to help you with the straps. They are kinda complicated."

Luci crossed her arms and pouted as he began to laugh "Its not that funny...i only build and fix the ships i dont fly them" she poked her tongue out and blew a raspberry "and no i have never been off the station, i was born and raised here" she smiled and climbed into the cockpit sitting in the second seat "You were right about the straps and the leg room, you really did build this with luxary out of mind" she began to look carefully at the structure around her, it looked pretty good for somthing he had built himself.

"So were abouts do you usually travel then? you said you spent the last 8 years out and about.." she looked at ved waiting for him to answer her question.
