The Feeling Of Eyes On Your Back [Vixus]
« on: May 27, 2014, 12:43:08 pm »
Day off or not. What did it matter? Toshi didn't give a solitary damn about not being on duty, even though there were many other pilots that loved it. He didn't care. The society of Aedolis was dirty and spoiled. Since he was a child, he showed very little interest in the world around. Every person, passing by in a hasty manner, chasing after their little pleasures, was to his eyes nothing but trash. Useless junk. They will never be of any importance, just replaceable masses of human blood and flesh.

Something in the brain beneath the mess of black hair and a dark hood of a sweatshirt must have been damaged in the car crash 21 years ago. Pilot Noble Sorai Toshi Naito wasn't your ordinary Aedolian citizen... He looked constantly bored and disinterested in everything, rugged dark clothes and a gloomy expression on his face, simply not fit for this country and its people, obsessed with entertainment. He never laid a hand on a girl except for his classmates and coworkers when he was professionally obliged to. And he hated clubs.

Right now, he was standing like a black column in a queue in a coffee shop. People standing around gave him strange looks, as he was surrounded by their colorful figures, standing there in a pair of ripped pants, tucked into tall boots, loosely laced, and his sweatshirt looked to be three sizes too big for the skinny figure it concealed. Its dark hood shadowed his face enough to hide his identity, but showed enough to not make him seem suspicious. He didn't seem like he fit there.

Finally, it was his turn. He made his way to one of the machines, ordered an extra large, extra strong black coffee with half a ton of sugar, and proceeded to roll one of his gloves down to expose his wrist to the machine. His name blinked on the screen for a moment, followed by the amount of credit, and he paid for the coffee. Just as he got the plastic cup into his hand and turned on his heel to walk away, the hood sled of his silky hair, and exposed his face to everyone around. A sigh escaped his mouth. He knew very well what would follow.

A young girl standing behind him squealed excitedly. "That's Pilot Naito!" she muttered to her companion, similarly small and overly plastic as herself, and they both attempted to follow him, squealing and making other annoying noises. Toshi growled, giving them a cold glance over his shoulder. "Leave me alone. I'm out of duty. Get lost." he spoke coldly, and with long steps made his way out. The girls were better left like that - thunderstruck from his cold, gloomy self. He didn't like the attention and he didn't want it at all. Screw them all. Can't he just have his coffee in peace?

Outside the shop, he stopped walking, and took a drink from his hot coffee. It was on the verge between being too bitter and too sweet, but it woke him up. He didn't look like it, not with his ghostly, paper-pale skin and dark rings under his eyes, but it actually did.

Screw this day out. Screw this crappy coffee. Screw it all. Maybe he should just sleep more, just like Reijingusan advised him to. When something 400 years older advises you to sleep, you definitely should sleep, right? Instead of overdosing yourself with caffeine at eight in the morning...

Mikey was on his typical rotation to the modern "sin city" of Aedolis. He hated this rotation out of all of them... The people here were sick and filthy, and had no respect for society- or themselves. He was on top of a tall building, out of site to anyone on the ground. The people down there were in a sort of town square... but there aren't many places where people arent interacting, meeting up, and/or meating up. And the thing he thought was the worst: they expected people not to judge others... or go against such a disturbing way of life.

Mikey scowled at the idea and spat. When he scanned the crowd for the umpteenth time, someone squealed something almost inaudible from his distance, that also caused a weird feed-back in his intelligence equipment. A man in dark clothing stepped out of a coffee shop holding something that looked quite potent. He looked suspicious... "Home base, this is night crawler, I have a target... confirm."

(ooc: not that long next time please.)

Taking another drink from the coffee, Toshi made a disgusted face. The more of it he drank the worse it tasted. He couldn't take the low quality anymore. He downed as much as he could in a desperate attempt to get the levels of caffeine inside him back into normal, and tossed the still half-full coffee into garbage. Disgusting.

With long steps he passed through the street, ignoring all the people around. It seemed that he will have to go to a genuine restaurant to get a coffee that was consumable. With a sigh, he pulled his hood back up, and made his way to the nearest point of vertical travel. The best restaurants were in the upper city levels... Not that he'd be, as a pilot, restricted when it came to residence and travel, off course.

It wasn't too usual to see someone like him in the upper levels of the city, though. He was standing out like a boulder in the middle of the sea. A bit of dark colors, moving through the colorful masses...

The man in dark clothing began to move, and Mikey packed up his equipment an followed him. "Well that's interesting" he said to himself when he saw the man grimace at a deep thought of society "someone who hates it here too." He didn't know weather the look was from the coffee of the crowd or both.

After some time, he got to the restaurant he was searching for. How fortunate it wasn't too full... He hurried inside, seemingly out of place even here, and sat by a small table, far enough from the window to hide him from people that walked by. A waiter stepped towards him - in such a high-class restaurant, machines would be an insult, though he was most likely an android, anyway...

He ordered a coffee, and lazily put his elbows down onto the table to support his chin with his hands while waiting. The dark color of his irises flashed in the dim light as they scanned the people around, but satisfaction wasn't coming even then... People were such a bunch of cattle. Unbelievable.
