Stranded Hope [open]

The darkened room of Petty officer Dinlu was quiet aside from the rhythm of the her breathing and the unexplainable loss of the low humming of the vessel she is on. she woke herself from her pod opened up and she stepped out, letting her bare feet touch the cold metal flooring. the cold sent a shiver down her spine but she got up and noticed the red blinking light of her Holo-pad which was a sign of reports from her men or the crew. she seated herself and opened the message board to see what had unfolded while she slept.

At 01:00 hours the fleet ran into another fleet and negotiations began. before the negotiations were finished the unknown fleet opened fire and sent the main vessel hurtling onto the nearest planet. 99.9% of the crew was killed in the crash.

After reading it over she had several thoughts pop into her mind. How did she live through the crash? and what now?. she pushed the questions aside and got dressed into her flak uniform and grabbed her rifle on the way out of the small officer's quarters and down the hallway until she came to an opening in the ship's hull. outside it was lush and green and untouched by man until today as she stepped out and turned on her retinal implants. Seeing the air content she became a bit relaxed to find it was very similar to Edanith or other places she's been to.

she retreated back into the ship to find the emergency supply kit before something else on the planet did.

It took her an hour before she found the supplies, some ammunition that could last her a year of shooting and the keys to the Base runner super truck they got from the Wolfen empire a few days back. She packed everything she can into the super truck and closed it's back ramp before sensors started picking up several small unidentified vessels land just outside of the ship. "Ah, crap... Alright Jura, let's get out of here and find a safe place to set up base."

She climbed up into the truck's cockpit and put in the keys hearing the large 60 ton engine roar to life and planted her foot on the peddle and began speeding up toward the broken cargo bay door which the behemoth of a vehicle plowed right through and into a squad of aliens which were crushed under the truck's wheels before accelerating away from the crash site. "Computer, Identify the aliens in that squad, there were at least three different species."

<looking through database, estimate time: 6 hours.>

"Alright... Pull up a geographic map in a 5 mile radius." She ordered as a 3D map appeared next to her which showed a few buildings just 5.5miles to the north. She kept driving until she was on a cliff overlooking a small colony/fort in the distance below. she recognized the flag that flew over the buildings, Aedolian. she cursed at her self knowing how bad her company's reputation is with the pilots and their dragons.

Devie was feeling good. A small colony like this couldn't possibly have the resources to be really dangerous, even if it was Aedolian... Oh he really hoped there weren't any dragons. Something squelched beneath his foot, and he resolutely didn't look down. His boots were waterproof. Sort of. A little bit, at least. The people around him seemed a little, plastic, as though they were just carrying out roles, but that was just his paranoia talking right? He'd been around his crew for so long that he was just put off by normality! Obviously. His hair was literally vertical in the wind, until it changed direction and blew directly down over his face. He continued down the impromptu street, and fell to the ground with an audible thud as he collided with something solid and warm. The wind changed direction just too late, pushing his hair back, and he found himself confronted with someone tall, massively strong, and pissed off. Ah.

"I'm sorry, hope I-"

He dodged as the near-giant took a swing at him, nabbing the guy's belt bag and strange gun-thing as he legged it past him, aware that everyone was yelling some equivalent of 'Thief! Get him!" around him as he ran. That was the advantage of being a shape-shifter though, once you were out of sight and away, you could just change and go straight back! He'd have to get away first... He was used to sprinting, so he knew he wouldn't be too tired to run for another ten minutes at this pace- oh dear, but that looked a little too fast for him... Devie accelerated as the freakishly fast two-headed dog sped towards him, slavering and just longing to eat him, he could tell. Why, oh why, had he decided to do this again? Oh wait, the Cook had been nagging him for food. Who needed to eat, anyway? His stomach grumbled. He really needed to find his way back to a trade route. So he could actually waylay enough ships to get some grub. Or he could just stop getting into trouble long enough to buy some, but that just never seemed to happen.

Finally, the colony settlement came to an end, and with his blood rushing in his ears he darted for the open ground beyond. Open. No hiding places. Great. A cliff stood directly ahead of him though, so he headed for that, hoping desperately for a cave, as he was still being pursued. He was beginning to tire, but he accelerated again as some sort of motor became audible behind him. Luckily, he was near the cliff, and was that a truck up there? He scrambled up the cliff a bit, before looking down, finding his pursuers looking upwards in alarm. He really, really hoped he hadn't arrived just in time for an invasion. On the bright side, he was now being ignored. He managed to reach the top of the cliff, and folded his arms on the top as he grinned and yelled breathlessly:

"Your valuables or your reputation, friend; you're about to get robbed!"

Jura had watched the thief running toward her cliff with her binoculars. "Well, it seems we might be able to prove ourselves to the locals." She said as she got up and spun around with her Assault rifle aimed at the Thief. " Any valuables you're taking is the one behind a prison shield. Now get on the ground or I'll put you down myself."

Her tone was serious and strict and to prove her point, if the thief stepped in any direction he would almost get his leg shot by the Petty officer.

Prison shield? That didn't sound good. Devie smiled nervously as the pale, obviously military woman aimed her gun at him. It wasn't like he couldn't drain it (that was one awesome side-effect of his shape-shifting), but then he'd be in a prison, and he had a bad feeling about that... Also, being shot would suck. Badly. He wasn't even standing up, and she already wanted him on the ground. Somehow, she didn't sound like she was joking, and she didn't look like the type to mess around, but - everyone liked a bit of humour, right? He was sure they'd get along perfectly once she got over her whole 'prison or death' thing! Maybe she even had some supplies with her...

"Look, I know I'm charming, but you don't need to lock me up just to keep me around!"

He tried to look charming, his smile typically manic. If she did have supplies, he might even be willing to pay or trade for them - and he hadn't obtained anything legally for years. He was that desperate. Also, he really didn't want to be shot.

"Just, er, let me finish climbing up..."

Devie scrambled at the last bit of the cliff, attempting to draw himself up, and definitely didn't yelp as the rock gave out beneath his feet, leaving him hanging awkwardly. It was a good thing he wasn't lacking in arm strength, because his feet weren't finding purchase anywhere. He tried a couple of times to swing himself up, or pull himself up to the point where he could get his legs onto the top of the cliff, but only succeeded in dislodging his left hand. Once again, he smiled at the woman awkwardly.

"You know, I would be on the ground but er, you know how it is... Help?"
