"Disabled the ship's alarm system?"
Her voice was quiet, but she didn't need to be loud when she was only a few feet away from her twin brother.

"Check."
There was a triumphant click from an enter button being pressed harder than it needed to be to register the keystroke.

"Acquired control of the intercom system onto the handhelds?"
"Check."
The sound of multiple quick taps to the arrow key. Who needed laptop touchpads when the GUI wasn't being used at the moment?

"Acquired control of the internal defense system onto the handhelds, as well?"
"Check."

"Laserproof vests?"
"Check."

"Miniature EMP disabling device?"
"Check."

"Awesome and functional outfits?"
"Obviously."

Vega was still typing away at the larger portable computer, entering the last commands to allow their handhelds to quietly and undetectably access and control everything they needed. He and Juno had thought this through to almost every last detail, and all in just a short time. However, they weren't finished with preparations yet.
Because Juno was applying the last of the slightly smudged line on her cheeks. She had done the same for Vega first, but she was nearly finished now, anyway.

"We're set," Juno confirmed, as she pushed her wireless headphones to her shoulders and put away the eyeshadow back in the lightweight bag.  They didn't travel particularly heavily when they were out and about, just enough to carry their laptops and other electronics. Didn't really need much else, honestly.

"And all we have to do is wait for our opportunity," her brother said -- the same thing she was thinking.

"Then we will be... "

Glancing at each other, they nodded, perfectly in tandem.

"... Heroes," Vega finished Juno's sentence, as any good set of creepy twins would do.
On the computer, they watched multiple feeds from various security cameras around the relatively large military ship they were currently hiding out on. Waiting.

Then they spoke to the monitor in perfect unison.
"Sassy Juice crew, we've come to save you."

They really hadn't stood a chance.

The Edani vessel far outclassed them. It was faster, bigger, and it had come upon them with little warning; by the time they'd realized it was there, it had already seized them. There wasn't even a fight involved--because if there was, they would be space debris right about now, not locked away in a cell to think about what they'd done.

And while Ari was a lot of things, he knew when to throw up the white flag. Better detained than dead.

At least here, he could try and think of a way to get them out of this bloody mess.

So far, nothing was coming to him.

He was too busy fuming.

"Sunovabitch!" Ari said, not for the first time, as he paced the small space and raked his hands through his rainbow-white hair. He gave the steel wall a frustrated kick as he reached it before pivoting and pacing back the way he'd come. "Seriously, those motherfuckers scratch Sassy an' I'll kill 'em. Just...just what the fuck. Goddamn fuckin' Edani cuntwaffles!"

“…Cuntwaffles?” The dry, deadpan voice was soft but very easily heard in their little tin box of a cell. That was an interesting one…he’d have to remember that for the future. As much as he truly despised humanoids native to this solar system, their ‘curse words’ were highly amusing to him.
“As I recall, aren’t you from Edanith yourself?” He pointed out blankly, his slender arms crossed over his chest.
Since being led away from the Puke Juice and settled into this prison, the tiny alien had simply plopped onto the slender bench provided and given the entire situation his usual apathetic stare. His long tail was wrapped around his waist, under his oversized shirt - all of his clothes were oversized to be honest, the sleeves of his black shirt hanging over his hands and the hems of his gray pants rolled up many times so that his paw like feet could be used without fear of tripping. Large deer like ears were currently flipped back, probably the only outward display of his displeasure.

He was freezing.

His world was a warm one, and space was always lacking in heat as one might imagine. All of his heating lamps were currently back in the med bay where he’d installed them, well out of his reach. By now, hours later, he was seriously beginning to feel the effects of the constant chill deep in his skinny body.
Everything was aching and throbbing even more than usual, but as per usual he showed no signs of it. There was nothing to be done for it anyway, they were all in the same boat - he just happened to handle the cold far worse than the other humanoids.
“Perhaps if you stopped trying to break your toe on the wall, you could clear your mind enough to think of  a way to escape. And speaking of that…I will not patch you up if you do injure yourself in such a retarded way.”

"Hehehe, I think it's time."

"I think so, too."
Even though that confirmation was entirely useless, since they usually thought the same thing at the same time, it didn't really mean they weren't going to do it. Vega closed his laptop and pushed it back into the bag on his back, while Juno stood up.

"All right, lock it up," he told his sister, who nodded with a smile, and touched a few things on her handheld. The doors were successfully locked, as told by the green text on the miniature computer.

"Ready to make the announcement?"

A nod from Juno, and another couple of virtual button clicks only made noticeable by the sound of her fingernail tapping the glass. He stepped closer after accurately guessing that she'd opened up the announcement system by then.

"Greetings, everyone aboard this vessel," Vega spoke to the handheld's built-in microphone, in a calm and smooth tone of voice reminiscent of artificially intelligent ones. They could hear the words being played on the speakers outside of their hiding place, but it wasn't close enough to be picked up and echoed again by the microphone.

"We're here today to take the Sassy Juice off your hands."
Juno's voice was equally calm as she spoke, with the only change being the obvious pitch difference due to gender.

"Or, should we say... rescue them?"

"Perhaps," she answered, while feeling and hearing the faint vibration and sounds of feet moving quickly above the room they stood in. "Do not panic. We will work fast to leave just as quickly as we have arrived."

"Please enjoy the music while the operation is underway."
Another couple of pokes to the screen, and the microphone was no longer connected to the ship, replaced by the beginning of the looped eight-minute song outside the little room.

They figured that the alarm-like quality and feel of the rhythm guitar's part of the song would suit the situation very well.

"Let's head out," they said together, only to themselves, once more with spot-on timing, as they headed to the door.

The room was now empty.

Alia was starting to get a headache. Admittedly, that was probably the second-rate psychic dampers that came with the cell, but Ari and his beef with the wall certainly weren't helping.

It hadn't been the best moment of her life, that surrender. The Sassy's sensors hadn't picked up anything until it was way too late for even basic jiving. (So she'd spent too much time with an ex-Ozzie and picked up some of the guy's slang. Sue her.) Even if they'd seen the ship in time for her to get her ass in gear, the thing was big enough that even her best flying wouldn't have saved them from a tractor beam. Plus from what the sensors had told her before they'd been boarded, the thing had serious cannon.

And now the entire crew was in a cell, with no weapons of any kind and no way out in sight. Not exactly her favorite set of circumstances.

"Ari," she said when he started his circuit for about the fifth time, prepared to tell him to knock it the fuck off, please, and then she heard it. Somebody talking. Over the intercom, sounded like. Muffled, cause the nearest speaker was about ten feet away, outside of the cell, but still pretty understandable.

Or maybe not, because whoever was talking had just said something about a rescue. For them.

"You guys hear that too?" Alia asked. She hoped they had, because the only other option was that the dampers were driving her crazy.

Ari came to a stop then, swinging around to face Bjarte and hooking his thumbs in his belt-loops. He was shirtless, just in old cargo pants and boots, but the pacing had kept his blood pumping and his temperature up. Now stopped, he could feel the chill more and shivered, but did his best to ignore it as he fixed his eyes on Bjarte.

"I am not one of those assholes," he said, jerking his head toward the door. "I'm my own asshole. A free one, at that. A free asshole." He threw up his hands and shrugged. "There we go." Fuck Edanith. The only good place was space. Maybe the Cancer. No politics, no crap, no...let-downs. He might be Edani by birth, but he didn't identify with any of it.

"Now shut up. I'm tryin' to think."

Ignoring Bjarte's warning, Ari started to make another circuit of the place when a voice through the intercom made him freeze.

...What?

For a second, he swore his heart stopped. What the--was someone trolling them? Rescue them? How the--?

Alia snapped him back to reality and he shot her a confused look, brow furrowed. "Uh...yeah," he said just as the music came on. Rock music?

"The hell...?"

He had a lot of feelings about this situation and wasn't sure what to settle on. Relief was the obvious one; he knew what happened to criminals on Edanith and it wasn't good. Shame was another, for needing rescuing to begin with, for letting down his crew. And beneath all that was a trickle of fear because who the hell rescued a group of pirates...not to mention, who had the power to rescue them from an Edani military vessel?

Someone powerful, that was who, and there had to be some insidious motive.

Bjart just slowly arched the large scale that served as an eyebrow, blinking blandly at the large shirtless ape in front of him.
“A free asshole. Of course.” He mused dryly, actually quite amused though his face was perfectly deadpan as usual.
“Trying being the key word.” The quip was equally flat, but at least poking fun at the big idiot was making him feel somewhat better. Honestly, how could that man be walking around shirtless in this soulless cold?? Then again, the rainbow head seemed to have a habit of it…he was always wandering around in some state of undress. To be honest, Bjarte really hated him for it - the tiny alien generally had to remain camped out in his medical bay where the large heating lamps kept him at a comfortable temperature.

Unlike now, where his temperature had dropped three degrees and everything in him was aching in the worst of ways. He wondered vaguely if he might die here and now, from the cold seeping into him rather than from the tumors spreading throughout his body cavity. Wouldn’t that be ironic.
Taking a deep breath, he slowly curled himself up more on the bench, each movement agonizing for him, but he reflected little on his face. He was fairly certain these giants were too oblivious to notice the tiny signs of acute pain rippling across his features.

Then again that overhead announcement was probably enough to catch their attention anyway. Blinking, Bjarte tilted his head quizzically.
“No, I think we all heard that.”
Like Ari, the medic of the Puke Juice was not entirely sure how to feel about the entire situation. Honestly, who saved pirates? His first inclination was to believe it was somebody who knew one of the other crew members - a fairly reasonable thread of logic for saving them. Tilting his head the other way slightly, he didn’t ponder it for very long.
Considering they were all still stuck in a cell, it wasn’t like there was anything they could do about the situation. And honestly, even were they not trapped right then, Bjarte’s biggest concern was whether or not he’d be able to actually stand up. Personally, that was a much bigger problem than figuring out the ‘hows’ and ‘whys’ of their supposed rescue.
