Something Something Milkshakes and Yards

[ Goblin! ]

Teal had done himself up for the event.

A house call. More unusual these days. But it was extra credits in his metaphorical pocket and damn if he didn't need those. It was hard to make rent. Had to keep up with appearances. Top level Haviah apartment.  Decent job. Sort of. He wasn't famous but he was a head liner kind of. Sometimes he got paid extra for things. There was the occasional cam show - though people generally preferred the boobied ones for cam shows. Teal made sure to fix his tie as he hit the button on the elevator.

Performance jitters. All he had to do was wiggle his butt and put on a good show right? Right? Another fix of his suit. Wiggle the tie. He pushed his hair over his shoulder and rubbed the stubble behind his ear. Ears perked up. He caught a glance of himself in mirror and paused to fix his hair, smudge the makeup a little. More smokey? He blinked at himself and licked his lips, making sure his hair fell just so, made sure his eyes looked extra golden against his pretty scales.

Teal smoothed his fingers over his scales, making sure they were extra shiny. A glance at his com for the location, he was on the right floor, he'd finished his preening aaaand.... There it was. A deep breath and his heartbeat picked up and he felt his body zing with anticipation. Two knocks on the door. There it is. Work time.

He smiled wolfishly at the girl who opened the door and she blinked up at him, looking worried for a moment before recognition bloomed on her face. "Hi," she whispered before she pushed the door open. Gem was entertained when he had to duck slightly to get into the room, fixing his tie and looking around. Bachelorette party. Easy credits.

"Hello Ladies," He smiled a small smile, pleasant. He twitched his ears up like a bunny before he pulled his com out of his pocket and put it into the sound system dock. The music was gentle at first while he started to undo his tie, eyes falling closed and he gave a gentle frown when something just felt right. Gem's eyes flicked open and he focused on a little quiet girl. Woman? Lady. In the corner. All big fluffy ears and he had to force his gaze away to the girl wearing the silly crown.

"So, you're the tax evader?" He said, voice husky before he started to pull his tie off and undo the buttons of his suit. His coat went across the room followed by his shirt and his pants were convenient tearaways because then it was nothing but a special pair of underpants and his tail waved behind him. "Well," He said voice husky while he moved to the music that was slowly turning from its soothing slow melody and turning into a dull throb.

Gem closed his eyes and moved for the enjoyment of his audience. Every time he opened them up from being closed though they were on the little puffy eared lady. Quickly they flicked back to the star of the night who pet at his sides and stroked up and down his scales. Gem didn't like how she was petting at his thighs and how she grabbed his ass but... It was his job. He didn't know why he didn't like it though.

It was the fluffy eared girl.

Gem danced his almost literal pants off as the night progressed. Only two of the ladies touched his dick through his shiny underwear and as the music slowed and his pants were back on he sauntered over to the quiet one with the fluffy ears. Instead of kneeling down he simply bent over at the waist, golden eyes wide. "Do I intimidate you?" He purred, letting his eyes close for a moment before a strange overwhelming sensation of something pushed through his gut. It wasn't lust - Or rather it wasn't just lust. It was... So much. Gem - Teal - didn't even understand. "My name is Gem," He had said smiling softly, "What's your name? Care for a dance?"

She was running completely and unforgivably late. Nyree knew running one more sample set through the centrifuge was going to cut it close but she had not accounted for the damn thing deciding to finally give up the ghost and projectile shoot samples about the lab. It certainly was not one of her finer moments as the Kitsuni had struggled to clear up the mess and pack up her things all at once.

It was for this reason that she was whipping out of her professional-wear and into the little black dress Charlene had made her buy and promise to wear tonight. Nyree was not overly fond of the dress. She felt that the cleavage plunged too low and her tail was too much at risk of flipping up the knee-length skirt. But, what was she to do when faced with the pleading, begging eyes of the bride-to-be? Not a damn thing after putting on the monstrosity of a dress, donning her slinky high heels, and booking it to where she was supposed to be helping setup for the bachelorette party thirty-seven minutes ago.

By the time, Nyree had gotten there the ladies had already broken into the bottles of wine and were giggling and gossiping like loons. They eagerly welcomed the late arrival before ushering her into a seat on the couch and dropping a generously filled glass into her delicate hand. Her attempts at apologizing were easily brushed aside as the focus once more returned to the lady of honor who sat on a chair in the middle of the room with a sparkly tiara precariously balanced upon her head.

Nyree wondered why she had even come as she adjusted her skirt and half-sat, half-lounged against the arm of the couch. For the most part she did not know these people. Charlene was one of her coworkers sure but beyond that the pair were hardly what Nyree would call fast friends. Yet, despite that the boisterous woman had insisted on asking the Kitsuni to be her flowergirl at the wedding. Nyree suspected it was because of the ears.

She was saved from entertaining further thoughts of that as a pair of knocks to the door sent Riza scuttling to her feet and giddily welcoming someone in. Nyree's eyes widened as she watched the male duck into the room and take charge of the proceedings. She sat completely frozen in her seat. They had hired a stripper. It felt like a code orange to her as she watched him cater to each of the women his own special brand of oozing charisma.

The grabbing hands at his person did not escape her notice, and Nyree could not help but feel embarrassment for the way the women in the room were behaving and pawing at him. She gulped down her wine, praying for the strength to survive the ordeal. Nyree even entertained the idea of slipping out before anyone noticed her trying to let the couch swallow her whole. Sadly though, her sense of obligation kept her from following through with it.

So there she continued to sit until in the moments where she had allowed her mind to wander to other things she suddenly found a face bent down to her level. Nyree's ears went flat against her skull in surprise as she sharply lifted her gaze to meet his. Her mouth felt dry and her cheeks flushed for all the attention she was getting. It was painfully obvious to her how the room had quieted to watch this.

"Uh thank you," she fumbled, squirming deeper into her seat, "but I don't reall-"

"Oh hush, Nyree!" the crowned blonde declared loudly. "I promised you some fun tonight and you don't look like you've had any. Let Gem here show you a good time," Charlene encouraged to the raucous cheers of the other girls. One of them, Nyree still did not know her name, reached passed the Kulshedra and dragged the tiny Kitsuni to her feet so that she could sit in the "best" seat in the house.

"Show our girl Nyree here a good time, yeah," Riza slurred, boldly slapping him on the ass as she took the Kitsuni's former seat.

Nyree sat up straight with her hands tucked under her thighs and her legs pressed tightly together as she looked nervously between the girls and the dancer. Behind her, her tail had curled up under the chair as close it could get. She wanted to just disappear into the floor, but she kept her eyes focused on him. It was not his fault they had hired him to do his job. It was all just work for him, a performance art if you would. Nyree clung to that thought as she did her best to relax. The sooner he started the sooner it would be over and she could grab her purse for an immediate exit.

Yeah. Let Gem here show you a good time.

He echoed in his head. Sometimes he liked his job. When he didn't think about it he liked his job. The house calls were because he had no life outside of work. If he wasn't stripping he was at home doing nothing. He didn't even really need the credits anymore. The tips and the regular pay from the actual physical location where he shed his manties was more than enough to keep him set. Even had a nice little nest egg going if he ever decided to take a vacation or something.  Teal closed his eyes for a moment while he moved, getting out of his head and into the motions.

He wasn't Teal. He was Gem. Giant fancy stripper at your service.

His scales glittered in the light. He'd made sure to keep extra good care. Made sure so that he looked really pretty in the light because if he wasn't pretty what else was he going to do?  The woman, Nyree, was tiny and adorable and he finally opened up his eyes, gently guiding her hands to rest on his thighs while he undulated and moved in front of her.

Her scent above all else permeated the room and he knew he'd remember her forever. So shy. So unsure. Before he realized it, his tail was waving behind him a little more enthusiastically and he struck that last pose and his eyes opened again. Of course, he moved to leaned in real close, foreheads touching. "Hi," he whispered looking surprised that he'd done it but he smiled at her all the same, ears perking up. Lost in the moment, "You're really pretty."

He had gently pried her hands out from under her and placed them on the warm, bare flesh of his thighs. Despite that though, Nyree flexed her hands, the fingers splayed and raised so that only her palms remained exactly where he had placed them. Throughout his entire act she remained still and tense. It had disgusted her the way the other ladies had pawed him and while he had invited her to touch him, she much preferred to keep her hands to herself.

Gem, as he had called himself, was beautiful to watch. Shining scales, rippling muscles, perfect body control; it was enough to make every woman in the room drool. Nyree was not unaffected herself. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment and interest. Her entire body warmed as he stoked the fire within her soul. As much as she wanted to she could not take her eyes off him. The more he danced, the more mesmerized she became. Her hands relaxed and soon tensed in the opposite direction, this time gripping his thighs firmly. They did not move but she felt like she was burning where their skin met.

What was this feeling? Was she losing control? Was it her pyrokinesis flaring to life? Her heart hammered in her chest as those few minutes felt like an eternity. When it came to an end she did not know whether she felt relief or regret. Nyree had forgotten about everyone else in the room in those moments. With his forehead pressed against hers, his golden eyes seeming so much warmer now that they were so close to her own. Her ears stood at attention as her lips parted slightly and she breathed him in. Nyree's little nose twitched as she took in cologne and sweat and something that was just so entirely him and male that she could not place it.

Then he called her pretty and the spell was broken. The corners of her lips wobbled in a joyless smile and her gaze lowered. He probably said that to all his clients. Nyree did not begrudge him his job, everyone had the right to do as they pleased. But, she did not like the fakeness of it all. He made her uncomfortable and she hated that even more. She lifted her hands off his legs, feeling the pads of her fingers peel from his skin from having clutched him so tightly.

"Thank you," she murmured automatically, her voice sounding thick and crackly even to her own ears. Nyree swallowed dryly, not knowing what to do with her hands now that they were not touching him. Right then the doorbell rang and Nyree all but leaped out of the chair, blushing deeply as she slide past the massive Kulshedra. Perhaps with more space between them she could start to cool off. "I'll get it!"

The other women laughed at her and poured more drinks while Nyree handled paying for the pizzas. She ignored the others as she carried the pile of boxes into the kitchen and worked at setting it all up. It was the least she could do for being late tot he party and setup to begin with. Her heart continued to thud heavily in her chest and the warmth of her body had yet to dissipate. Pressing a hand to her forehead, Nyree could not help but wonder if she was getting sick. Perhaps her outfit choice was a mistake with cooler weather setting in.

Taking a deep breath, the Kitsuni squared her shoulders and returned to the living room. She kept herself from looking at the only man in the room and instead made to collect her purse and slink out. Nyree did not stop for one second as she all but bolted from the bachelorette party. She needed to get home. It had been miserable aside from those heavy moments with "Gem," if that even really was his name, and those had just been agonizing. The door clicked softly closed behind her, but she did not stop until she had slipped into the elevator and frantically pressed the button for the ground floor.

Exhausted, she slumped back against the cool metal wall, letting it seep into her skin and ease the burning she felt she was undergoing. Her reflection stared back at her from the back of the elevator making Nyree shudder. She looked nothing like herself. Too much of her was exposed for her liking. The skirt rippled with the movement of her tail and the heels made her appear taller. But it was the complete dusting of red that went from her ears all the way down her chest that made her look away.

'Definitely getting sick,' she excused, rubbing at her shoulders with her hands. 'Just have to get home and then you can crawl into bed and sleep it all off.'

Teal felt creepy because he noticed it.

Who noticed a complete stranger leave a party? Besides him. No one. Her friends didn't notice because they were too busy staring at him. An exotic animal. Non-human. Built. Pretty teal scales. He closed his eyes and went through the motions and through the music he almost didn't notice the beeping. His ear twitched and he felt a hand smooth down his chest, over his hip, squeezing his thigh.

He needed to go.

Not just because the few hours they paid for were up but because he needed to follow that tiny red fluff thing. Teal had never had his breath catch like that or his attention stolen so thoroughly. Luckily, they were mostly pretty fucking drunk and once one of them noticed there was pizza... Off they went.

Ouch.

The last remaining lady gave his leg a nibble before he backed off and slipped his clothes back on, leaving his tunes behind-- But Teal didn't notice. There were other things to get. His street clothes were pretty normal and except for the made up face he could pass as a regular plain old guy. As it was, he was a little sweaty, a little overheated and he really wanted to nibble on someone elses legs and what was wrong with him?

Teal sucked in a breath, throwing his backpack over his shoulder and looking around the hall way. Elevator was closed. Was she leaving? Did she go outside to take a breath of fresh(ish) air? His heart was thumping in terrible ways because he knew that if he lost her he'd never find her again and she was just so perfect he had to do something - anything.

He thanked the fire that there were stairs in case of fires because he went down them as fast as he could, jumping whole flights and landing with a grunt, his tail slapping heavily onto the concrete steps behind him. Why were these apartments so huge. Holy fuck. By the time he got to ground level - swear to all fires he'd go into that elevator and track her scent if he had to - he was slightly more sweaty, his black and teal hair a mess and falling into his face. Cheeks flushed. Mouth open. He didn't smell her in the lobby. Maybe she was still in the elevator?

The attempt to look non-nonchalant was comical, his arm rested heavily on the wall and he took in deep steady breaths, eyes intent on the elevator door. Please come out. Please. The idea of never seeing her again made his chest hurt but the idea of her coming out of them made his heart flutter and the fuck was going on but she was amazing and... Teal sucked in a breath when the door dinged and he stared perhaps a little intently at them while they opened.

She was still leaning against the side of the elevator and out of sight as it reached the ground flower with a slight shudder and the doors opened with a faint ding. Nyree paused to straighten herself out and made to exit, but as she came around the corner the sight of the Kulshedra from upstairs made her squeak in surprise, her ears snapping to attention as she froze and the doors closed between them. As the initial shock of being startled by his unexpected presence rapidly wore off, the Kitsuni began to excessively punch the open doors button before the elevator decides to take her back upstairs again.

Stepping out with flushed cheeks, Nyree bobbed her head in greeting to the teal-scaled performer. "Hello again," she tried, proud to note her voice was relatively steady all misadventures considered. It was a shame her ears could not say the same as they danced forwards and backwards apprehensively.

"Everything alright upstairs?" She had no idea he was done his set and for a moment worried that one of the girls had done something stupid. It would be so like Charlene to drunkenly get herself hurt at her own bachelorette party. Then a thought popped into her head and Nyree sighed. "They didn't forget to pay you, did they?"

As the only sober one at the party, she could certainly understand his hurried appearance at her leaving if it meant he could ensure payment for his livelihood. She was already moving her purse off her arm so that she could free up the chip in it to exchange credits with him because surely that had to be his reason for being there.

Forget to?

Teal's breath caught in his throat and he just stared at her. Was it possible to get your heartbroken when the person breaking it didn't even really know you existed? Teal sucked in a breath and closed his eyes for a moment before he shifted his stance and plucked at his clothing. A hand through his hair and a twitch of his ears. What could he say? "Everything was fine upstairs..." He said, voice soft and he wanted to be soothing but he knew he was just being really creepy because he ran all the way down here and... It was fine. This would be fine.

"You left so quickly," Teal said lamely, doing his best to look more concerned than eager. Was he doing okay? Where were his ears supposed to go? He did his best to keep them neutral but he knew they were slowly climbing up in a sort of alert fashion. Moving back down when he noticed he'd been perking them up. "Are you okay?" He tried to keep his tone normal but he was anxious. "My name is Teal," he said quickly, it rushing out of him like a gust of air before he flushed and looked down and away. He Who Wagged His Ass for money was flushed. This was a crush. Nothing more. Right?

Right?

"I really was just worried about you. I didn't offend you, right? When i called you pretty?"

"Oh," she replied softly, relief evident in her voice even if she felt a bit awkward about assuming the worst of her coworker and her friends. Her bag was quickly re-shouldered again as she smiled faintly. Nyree's cheeks flushed again to hear his worry as her own ears swiveled nervously.

"Teal, well it's nice to meet you. I'm Nyree," she told him without thinking on whether she should or not. Her fingers wiggled in a small wave before she dropped her her and and mentally kicked herself for being so awkward. "I'm very sorry to have worried you though! You did not offend me at all." Nyree's cheeks burned nearly as brightly as her hair as she recalled the warmth of his closeness and the look in his eyes as he had called her pretty.

Soft, furred ears flattened against her head as the Kitsuni ducked her head and tried hide her shy, embarrassment. 'He says that to all his clients,' she was quick to remind herself. 'This is his job, Nyree. Nothing special. And look, you upset him too making him feel bad like he did something wrong.'

She played with the strap of her bag while worrying the inside of her cheek beneath her teeth. She felt completely out of her element and the heat currently dyeing her skin a bright, cherry red was only making it worse. For the second time that night she wondered if she was falling ill. 'Well I haven't been eating well. That could do it. All those extra hours and skipped lunches add up at some point. I should have grabbed some pizza before I took off.'

Right on cue her stomach rumbled making her eyes bulge in surprise. Nyree covered her mouth and glanced up in apology. "Sorry. Umm have you eaten? I mean would you like to? Or well I suppose you have more work after this. Sorry, I don't mean to keep you. Thank you for checking on me. That was very kind of you." The words just came all rattling out of her in one breath without even giving the poor man a chance to respond. In the space of a moment she had invited him to eat and then decided for him that he was too busy to join her.

"Well, thanks again. Have a good night then, Teal?" Nyree moved to take a step around him, feeling entirely humiliated by her own awkwardness and assumptions.
