Physical Description
[description revamp is in progress. Please be patient.]
Drake is a tall, muscular, olive-skinned pirate with as many scars as his beloved Warmonger, most notably the one running diagonally across his left eye. His left arm is a rust-colored prosthetic which he usually keeps covered with synthetic skin, though the rust color of the metal is intended to strike fear into his opponents. The arm itself is loaded with hidden weaponry and defensive systems. As to his attire, he typically wears combat boots, plain black pants, a torn and frayed navy blue jacket (one that shows quite plainly how he got most of his torso and arm scars), and a simple blood-colored shirt, a tradition for the captain of his band. His hat, when he cares to wear it, is a black beret of the sort worn by Tartarian special forces soldiers, and, curiously enough, has faintly visible bloodstains on the front, as if its previous owner had been shot in the forehead prior to being relieved of it. His face is clean shaven, with deoxygenated-blood-red irises (a common racial trait of Tartarian human 'basics') and his hair is a shade darker. Drake's ears are slightly pointed.

Personality
Cold-hearted villain who cares nothing for anyone but himself. Nothing stands in Drake's way, nothing keeps him from what he wants. Even those he has feelings for are secondary concerns to him, and he's not afraid to let them know it. Drake, despite this, does have a harsh temper, provided you know how to provoke him, and is very violent when angered.

Magic/Abilities
None, really. He's a great shot, a good hand-to-hand combatant and his left arm is tough and strong and loaded with hidden weapons, but he isn't really magical. Oh, and, he can cook.
In preparation for a recently-received job, Drake has added a device to his prosthetic arm that cancels any psionic abilities within 50 feet of him. The device is activated via a microchip implanted in his brain.

Relationships
None currently

History
Drake grew up on the human/Draconian joint colony of Tartarus, the third planet of the Ophiucus system of the Gamma-Phi nebula of the Andromeda galaxy. He was an orphan, but that never bothered him, being that he liked having no one telling him what to do outside of the human school he attended. His first crush was on the daughter of a ship's captain, but that ended not so well (before it even began) when said female's father found out. There may have also been the fact that Drake didn't realise the girl, who had been as tall as him, was a Draconian of only five years of age, something that shocked him deeply when he found out. At age 20, he joined his first pirate crew, only to take it over three years later, during a rather ambitious raid on a human military dry dock in the outer reaches of the Ophiucus system. It was during the next few years that he would earn death sentences not only on nearly every human colony in the Andromeda galaxy, but also within the Draconian Empire [for multiple date rapes, no less].

<Great. Tell you what: Get out of here alive, then we'll talk about what you do or don't owe me for me doing my job. I'm guessing your ship has an FTL drive of some sort? Use it. Your shields aren't going to hold for long against that thing's weapons.>, Eva replied. As she did, a ring of light formed in front of the ship pursuing the White Witch. <He's going to warp over that short a distance? I had no idea human tech was that precise!>, Eva thought to herself. She had to warn the White Witch, <That ring of light is a warp gate. It's what the humans who built that ship use for FTL travel, and, if I recall those pirates' tactics correctly, the captain of that ship's going to try to cut you off.>. <Klingewyrm, protect the White Witch. Klingewyrm-2, 3, you're with me. We need to stop that super.>, she ordered her wing, turning her fighter onto an intercept course with the enemy ship.

Meanwhile, the three Draconian ships had managed to keep the other pirate vessel at a distance, though not before it had broken through one of the three layers of Rahulik Vari's shielding.

"Edanith and Aedolis? Are they aggressive? And what are you afraid of? Draconians do not strike first. At least, Draconian soldiers don't strike first. Seeing as you've no weapons, you've nothing to worry about.", Heilung Engel said, hoping to get more info and calm the nervous pilot. Which was why it didn't help when Trotzige Schwert noticed the sudden appearance of two Nova-class Tartarian super-transports loaded with after-market weaponry and a full complement of fighters each. Andromedian human ships, this pair being infamous for their pirate crews.

<I know. We're on it.>, Eva said, <Loner-1, go back to the ship. Klingewyrm, form up and follow me. Our priority is protecting the White Witch.>, she ordered, sending the transport back to the Rahulik Vari. As she did, Säule der Schatten and Klinge an Mut oriented themselves in preparation to fire their main batteries at the enemy vessels as fighters deployed from both heavy frigates as well as from Rahulik Vari.

The two super-transports began moving, one heading toward the Rahulik Vari, the other, faster ship on an intercept course for the White Witch, both ships opening fire on their targets, with the second ship aiming for the engines of its target. Both ships also began deploying their own fighters.

<Crud. White Witch, this is Imperial Knight Eva von Draconis. You might want to make a Leere Läuft while you still have engines, those newcomers are pirates with Destroyer-class weapons.>, Eva snapped, hijacking Heilung Engel's line in order to do so. Meanwhile, Trotzige Schwert send a request for assistance as the three Draconian ships returned fire on the pirate vessels.

Also, as a side note, feel free to do artist's renderings of any AI units I mention in my posts if you feel like it. It'd be interesting to see what people come up with, and, if there are any I find singularly fitting/awesome, I might just make them canon to the AI's descriptions.

    [Ah.]

Eva led her wing to the ship. <There's no reason to scan, Captain... That thing couldn't possibly have better than pea shooters. It's about the size of my 117C.>, she reported over the radio.

<Scan it anyway, Klingewyrm-1. And, when you get back, you can read up on the weapons your fighter is armed with.>, Adelheid chided, slightly annoyed.

<Point taken.>, Eva responded, <Klingewyrm-5, proceed with scan. You'll have to break formation. We'll have you covered.>, she commanded, 'braking' her fighter by firing the forward engines just enough to bring it to a stop. Behind her, each of the fighters of Klingewyrm wing did the same, while the transport dropped below them, then proceeded forward to scan the White Witch. <Trotzige Schwert, Captain, either of you in the mood to get permission for me to board? I'd like to take a look at the inside of that ship.>.

<Denied. You're claustrophobic, and that's likely a human vessel.>, Adelheid replied. It wasn't accurate, but it was close enough.

<With all due respect, Captain, I am not claustrophobic. I'm just not a fan of enclosed, tight spaces.>, Eva replied, her tone as automatic and impersonal the fact she'd responded.

"No, but you did, in your request for your 117 Custom, specify an enlarged cockpit. I believe the Captain is wise to not let you board when there's no need for you to.", Trotzige Schwert interjected. Eva had no response.

<Scan complete, Klingewyrm-1. No weapons detected. Shall we return to the ship?>, the transport's pilot responded.

<Please do. I think we've scared our friend quite enough.>, Adelheid said, though her tone suggested it was an order not to be refused. Eva immediately led the wing back to the Rahulik Vari.

Meanwhile, "Would you perhaps know of any uninhabited worlds in this system? Also, what are the major governments? Anyone in particular we should steer clear of?", Heilung Engel asked, "Answer in any order you like, and feel free to add in anything you think might be of value. We're currently looking for a world to colonise.", she continued. As the scan finished, "Thanks for cooperating with the scan. It would seem there was no need to worry after all. I'm sorry for any trouble...", she added.

Otays... so... Here's the thing: I'm not really good at making art. At least, not drawings. So I was wondering if anyone'd be willing to do their impression of Eva? If you need any information, I'd be happy to post it here or PM it to you... One thing, though... I'm broke. So, assuming you aren't doing it for free, I can't pay money. I am okay (read have-the-ability-but-I-prally-suck-even-though-people-tend-to-like-them) at writing short stories and I dabble in some simply poetry, if you want to do a trade...

"Greetings, White Witch. I am Heilung Engel von Rahulik Vari. I have been tasked by the ship's captain, Imperial Fleet Commander Adelheid von Draconis, with ensuring the unknown signature on our radar does not have hostile intentions. It would seem, though, that you do not. While we're communicating, though, would you mind giving us some information? We are, as it were, the new species on the block.", Heilung Engel said.

<Klingewyrm-1, take Klingewyrm and do a once-over of the enemy ship. We don't have any data for that vessel, so I'm sending a transport with a ship scanner along with you.>, Captain Adelheid's 'voice' barked, causing Eva to jump.

<Yes Ma'am.>, Eva responded quickly, <Klingewyrm, form up behind me, standard tri formation.>, she commanded, then steered toward the unknown's location as the wing formed up behind her, tens ships in triangle formation with the transport in the center, and Eva taking point.

"White Witch, be advised we are sending a scanner crew with fighter escort to scan your ship for ship-to-ship weapons. Do not fire upon them. I repeat, we are sending a scanner transport and fighters to scan your ship, do not fire upon them. We have no intention of harming you, but we also have no intention of being ambushed.", Heilung Engel said, her voice taking on a reassuring, calm tone, one meant to be non-threatening.

[OOC: How big is the White Witch, compared to any sci-fi ships you know of?]

"Rahulik Vari hailing unknown vessel. I repeat, Rahulik Vari hailing unknown vessel. Come in, unknown vessel. Rahulik Vari hailing unkinown vessel, request response.", Heilung Engel said, running the message on all available frequencies.

<Heilung Engel, still requesting permission to check out the unknown.>, Eva requested.

"Eva, do not go over my head.", Trotzige Schwert chided, her tone slightly annoyed.

<Sorry. It's just a little unnerving is all.>, Eva replied.

"In any case, the answer's not yet. Captain Adelheid may order a recon/patrol if the unknown fails to respond. We will advise, Klingewyrm-1, so please stop asking.", Heilung Engel responded.

    <Yes, Ma'am.>, Eva replied, <Will wait for further orders.>.

All considered too petty for an all-out war. See this thread for more information. Bear in mind that any arguement made would have to be flawless. This isn't humanity, wars don't just happen because 'someone got mad and had connections'. Basically, they'd either have to seriously pissed off a god or goddess, become a very clear and imminent threat (as in, intend to attack Draconis or a Draconian colony world), be committing inexcusable atrocities, or have wrecked the balance of their world (so Aedolis would be a prime candidate should war be considered.) in order for the Draconian Empire to be willing to go to war with them.

Depending on the circumstances, I might be up for that. Just remember that my character's race doesn't go to war lightly, and there'd have to be a very good reason for their involvement.

Communication / Eva von Draconis Mission Log
    « on: June 03, 2011, 01:47:54 pm »
[WARNING! DO NOT POST DATES, TIMES, OR SHIP NAMES IN ANY PRIVATE BLOGS DURING A COLONY SEARCH. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS DIRECTIVE MAY BE TRIED AS TREASON!]

    Entry One Hundred Twenty Seven:
    Mood: Annoyed. Very annoyed.
[EDIT: PER USER REQUEST, THIS LOG HAS BEEN MOVED TO A PRIVATE DATABASE.]

Yeah, yeah, Frau Pingulkruvi, [EDIT: I AM WELL AWARE OF THE MEANING OF 99.9% OF ALL ORIGINAL STOCK SLURS, EPITHETS, SLANG, INSULTS, AND OATHS, IMPERIAL KNIGHT EVA VON DRACONIS.] we all were briefed on the regs before we left. Would you please excuse yourself from my private mission log? [EDIT: YOU ARE LOGGING THIS ON A PUBLIC CHANNEL, EVA. THIS IS HARDLY PRIVATE.] ... Light's fangs, Posten von Zahnrädern, we're not on alert, and this hardly qualifies as suspicious activity. Go screw Heilung Engel [EDIT, I AM NOT INVOLVED WITH THAT AI. FURTHERMORE, YOUR ISSUES WITH IMPERIAL LIEUTENANT BERTHA DO NOT EXCUSE YOUR RUDENESS.] already and let me log in peace. You know what? Command Code 0-855713, switch code Sword of Courage. [EDIT: [SIGH] VERY WELL. I'LL HAVE TROTZIGE SCHWERT MONITOR THIS. AT LEAST YOU DON'T HATE HER.] She didn't nearly crush my Custom after screwing up a simple training mission. [EDIT: YOU REALLY SHOULD LET THAT GO, EVA. ALSO, I'D APPRECIATE IT IF YOU DIDN'T WAKE ME UP EVERY TIME POSTEN VON ZAHNRADERN SCREWS UP. IT ISN'T MY FAULT SHE IS INEPT AT MILITARY COMMAND PROTOCOLS, ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE IS A SYSAD AI.] Sorry. H.E. is a bit busy, and none of the other AI's have administrative duties. Moving along...

Well... It all started with a bang, namely a certain incompetent AI [EDIT: EVA...] screwing up the training orders. ...Sorry... As I was saying... Said unnamed AI nearly got half a wing killed by managing to mix up 'live fire' and 'dummy fire'. Seriously. An AI screwed up that big. Yeah. Let's just say the repair crews weren't happy about that one. After that royal screwup, at which point (T.Z. will probably edit here to remind me of discipline... *sighs* I really should calm down...) she should have been taken off MiCo duty, she managed to somehow compound her incompetence by nearly crushing my Schatten Falken 117C! Does that tühi kahur have any clue how hard those are to come by? 122C's are almost standard issue, but 117C's would be a year's combat pay for me if it weren't for the unusually high compensation (Seriously? No edit?) [EDIT: I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO TOUCH THAT ONE.] (Too bad you're an AI...) [EDIT: I PREFER TO THINK OF YOU AS A LITTLE SISTER, EVA. NO OFFENSE.] (None taken.), and yet she was throwing that talon around like it was one of those claw-skill things humans used to have way back whenever it was... (If it isn't Draconian, history is forever beyond my grasp...) while my Custom was in it! So then, by this time, the AI's incompetence had gotten the attention of nearly all the pilots on the ship, and several of us went to file a formal complaint. Except that an Imperial Lieutenant decided we weren't. She spouted some toorikud about her being the only available AI and using the maintenence on Trotzige Zchwert as an excuse, despite having two backup MiCo's doing nothing, and ordered us to drop it. I have already filed a report on the matter, as have a few of the other pilots. At least the whole ordeal got the AI sent in for maintenance. Turns out she'd been on the Tartarus undernet and gotten herself sick while looking for some bedtime stories to read, which makes me glad yet again for the fact that AI's are on standalone servers, and annoyed that no one noticed the sudden Command Restriction. My guess? [EDIT: REDACTED. FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.]

    End.

PS: T.Z., when you get a chance, could you have P.v.D. contact me? I think I should apologise for snapping at her... Not her fault her mainenance was improperly scheduled. [EDIT: WILL DO, EVA.]
