[center:3eyrirye]Class[/center:3eyrirye]
[center:3eyrirye]Type-II Military Frigate[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Model[/center:3eyrirye]
[center:3eyrirye]Otter, Modular-Type[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Allegiance[/center:3eyrirye]
[center:3eyrirye]Freelance[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Purpose / Spec[/center:3eyrirye]
[center:3eyrirye]Formerly an orbital research vessel, specialized in spectrum analysis[/center:3eyrirye]
[center:3eyrirye]Recently retrofitted the storage bay for prison transport and supply[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Description[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]External[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]A larger frigate, but in linear length, the Amber Wave comes across as quite streamlined for a science vessel.  Her hull is very angular and clean, with white plating covering her frame with very smooth and clean panels.  The mid-hull is the only place where the clean look falters, out of necessity.  Her two large engine pods are built into wing-shaped diffusers that may angle and retract freely in flight.  There are similar winglets and plating pieces that may extend for weight distribution, additional control in atmosphere, and to protect the otherwise exposed fuselage beneath the engines.  In full flight the Amber Wave may sometimes resemble a bird of prey swooping in for a kill.

The large wing-pod engines expel thrust out the rear, long edge in a very controlled manner, but because they hang below the rest of the ship counter-thrusters are mounted above the tail.  These are fixed in place, but within atmo two large panels over the upper hull may extend to protect and balance the smaller engines.  These top panels also cover a clear roof of the Amber Wave, a custom component that allows observational equipment to function from within the ship rather than be mounted inaccessibly outside the hull.[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Main Deck[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]The Amber Wave definitely looks bigger on the inside.  There's a default hatch to either side of the hull just forward of the ship's wing joints.  Nearby is the small cockpit, which is more like an open work desk with a really good view and a damn fancy computer than a traditional control chair setup.  Looking closely one could see ports in the chair that were added manually, allowing compatible users to link to the ship's systems.  Most of the faux-glass front is actually made of holographic screens, with a reinforced window as a strip in the mid section in case the electronics fail.

Looking the opposite direction one would spot the medical bay behind a holographic curtain.  For a vessel designed to have a small crew, the medical equipment really is limited to a scanning and treatment combination bed built into a wall and a desk for the attending doctor.  Since it isn't exactly used much at the moment the medical bay has been used as a damaged and spare parts storage area, the floor and desk littered with various doodads that have lost their original purposes.

The starboard side of the ship holds the crew quarters and bathroom.  The quarters appear rather spacious at a glance, but only after one spots the stacked dressers, bunk beds, and fold-out closets does it come to light as to from where room comes.  Mostly unused due to a general lack of crew, the space remains fresh and tidy.  The attached bathroom on the other hand is a cluttered mess.  The entire room is one large shower that happens to have a toilet and sink mounted in the far corner.  Scattered about the floor are various toiletries, perfumes, and the occasional bit of discarded clothing hanging from a rack or two.  Perhaps that would change with a living crew using the facilities.

The port side of the ship holds a workshop that has been converted into a robotics lab.  A nanite foundry sits along the aft wall of the room and humms with blue light whenever something is being constructed on various occasions.  More traditional tools and a workbench are on the far port wall, which also holds a blacked-out window and a damn powerful lamp.  Scattered about the floor are some larger assemblies that seem to be part of the everlasting repairs to the Amber Wave.

Next to the workshop is a gravity shaft, inside of which gravity both natural and artificial becomes nullified.  Between all of the sections of the main deck reside various consoles used for auxiliary systems and data analysis.  An elliptical table with a holographic display for a surface sits dead in the center of the deck for use as both a meeting center and an information center.[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Cargo Deck[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Following the grav-shaft downward leads to an unlit but massively open deck.  Slamming a large physical switch flickers the lights on, showing the deck to actually be a storage hangar.  It's mostly empty, save the occasional crate of supplies or restraint harness bolted to the grated floor.  The fore wall looks to actually be a large set of airlock doors that are powered down most of the time.  Opposite the doors is an empty light shuttle pod bay, which appears to at one point held emergency escape equipment[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Observation Deck[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Upwards on the gravity shaft is a bit stranger as a person has to flip upside down midway if they wish their feet to meet the floor on the other end.  The gravity in the observation deck is reverse-vectored so that one can walk on the large window panels and simply look down to see outward.  It's a bit awkward, but upon spotting the science equipment scattered about it makes a bit more sense to peer down into the devices rather than strain one's neck and back by lifting it up all day.  Gazing down through the windows can either become a moment of beauty or an unbalancing and disorienting affair, depending on if the Amber Wave is on a planet or not.  A makeshift bed akin to a futon rests against the aft wall and is surrounded by the captain's personal belongings, signaling that she prefers using this room as her quarters in the off hours.  During working hours the observation deck makes for a fine common area however, various comforts and furniture pieces moved into the room after the ship was converted from a science vessel.[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Systems[/center:3eyrirye]
[center:3eyrirye]Shipboard Virtual Persona, responds to any humanized form of the ship proper.  SVP has full redundant control of the Amber Wave and can perform most tasks by command.  Safeguards prevent her from piloting the ship directly, manipulating life support or external hatches while lifeforms are aboard, and utilizing soft-linked equipment.[/center:3eyrirye]

[center:3eyrirye]Crew[/center:3eyrirye]
[center:3eyrirye]Ilaria Rivet, Captain by Trial and Chief Engineer

There's currently adequate room for four on the ship, supposing the captain remains in the Observation Deck.  Other areas may be commandeered as living spaces in a similar fashion however.[/center:3eyrirye]
