C-c-cut me up!?!  Why!?!  I'm not that interesting!  I eat, and breathe, and sleep just like anyone else.  Why are you all doing this to me?  I just wanted to find a way home...  Tetroneaque mentally stated as he burst into another racking fit of sobs, complete with his forlorn howling.

How can you all be so cruel?  Why do you hate me so much when you barely know me?  My kind haven't done anything to you...  It was all true enough, well except for that nagging feeling about hurting Eve.  He was about to apologize again for killing her when he felt something in Neve's mind.  That same odd feeling like an open window, so to speak.

Wait a second... I can still sense Eve through you!  You're still linked to her!  She can't be dead!  You liar!  Tetroneaque severed the mental link to Neve in a fit of sudden anger.  He was quite upset about being made to feel so guilty for something he didn't do.  He would have jumped up and bitten Neve then and there if it didn't mean having to remove his suit's helmet to do so.  Instead he contented himself with an angry growl toward Neve.

If he sensed the link, Eve must have woken up. The fox hadn’t said anything useful in the last few minutes anyway, so it didn’t matter when he severed the link. It was a good thing Reshona couldn’t understand the fox, she probably would have given in by now; she was weak.

Neve typed a command into his communicator to call some guards and have a van made ready. He and Reshona would escort Tetroneaque to Thanatos Inc. then he’d be out of their hair. Then Neve could go home and sleep. Maybe tiredness was making him more cruel and irritable than usual…His and Eve’s mission had been bad enough without having to pick up a stray fox on their way back to base.

The guards entered again and advanced on the purple creature. He didn’t put up a fight and they were able to lift him easily. Neve and Reshona followed them outside to the waiting van.

They pushed Tetroneaque into the back and the two Mordecai climbed in as well, shutting the doors behind them. Inside it was quite dark but there were some slits to see out of let and some light in.

Neve stood up once the vehicle had started moving and looked out. The ‘Fury’ could be seen in the distance with some scientists milling about it, they must have succeeded in getting in.

At least he thought until there was a loud boom and a dark bubble of energy surrounded the ship and scientists…Okay maybe the technicians were stupider than he thought.

Tetroneaque recognized the tell-tale sound of a gravity cannon going off quite well.  His ears went limp and drooped a bit.  He knew that no living thing could take a direct hit from a gravity cannon and live.  Now he really was responsible for someone getting killed.

He let out another sad howl.  He had tried to warn them, but they simply wouldn't listen to him.  To them, he was simply some specimen, a freak of nature for them to poke and prod and dissect, anything he told them seemed to be ignored no matter if it was for their own good or not.

Tetroneaque simply looked out the window and watched the scenery.

His stomach then started to growl.  It had been quite some time since he'd last eaten.  He wished his captors would at least have given him a meal before taking him to where ever they were taking him.

The fox started howling again. It was starting to give him a headache. But it actually had been the cause of someone’s death now. It wasn’t really the fox’s fault though, it was the idiot technicians. And everything that was said in the fox’s cell had been recorded and heard by Mordecai outside the room, so they could have warned the idiots.

Neve sighed and sat down. Thank god his day was almost over.

It didn’t take the van long to reach its destination and it stopped outside the base.

“I’ll go and tell them we’ve arrived,” Reshona said rising.

She opened the door carefully and stepped outside, not leaving any opening for the fox to escape, not that it would.

Neve glanced at the fox. TRIM was not a nice place. But his job was his job. If he didn’t do it he ended up at TRIM as well. For the Mordecai it was the stray mages or them. Like he had heard Eve tell Tetroneaque, they were slaves just as much as the mages were.

Tetroneaque decided that since this was the last time he might see Neve he wanted to tell him one last thing.  He forced the mental link, not taking care to be as gentle as he normally would.  It wouldn't do anything except maybe cause a nasty headache for Neve later.

Neve!  Tell the technicians... any that are still alive... to simply leave the Fury alone.  If they continue to mess with it, the responses will only get worse.  Just please believe me when I tell you this is for your people's own good!  If you all simply leave the thing there, it won't do any harm.  You can think of it as a monument to the day you captured the only Kitsune you're likely to ever see in your life.  At least you should pray I'm the only one you ever see.  If the Empire finds out what you all are doing to me, it would be considered an act of war.  He then severed the link.  He may have been in a hopeless situation right now, but perhaps putting the fear of the Empire into them might do some good.  It was true though.  The only alien race the Kitsunes had met before now were a race of hive mind insectoids.  All attempts at negotiating a peaceful co-existence with the bugs had proved futile.  In the end, the Empire had simply crushed the bug's home world with massed orbital gravity cannons.  He didn't think these 'humans' as they called themselves needed to know that bit of history though.

Neve was taken aback when the fox forced the mental link this time and ranted on about leaving the Fury alone and the kitsunes waging war. Even if he told the scientists to leave it they wouldn’t, they were stubborn. And the fox was right, he was the only Kitsune Neve or Edanith was ever likely to see so they didn’t need to worry about some freaky purple foxes coming from across the galaxy to kill them all. They’d be stupid to do that anyway. Their resources would probably run out not long after they arrived.

He didn’t bother to reply to the fox, he just waited until Reshona reappeared and helped him drag the fox from the van and into the building. Neve wasn’t very keen on the Thanatos Inc building, it smelt of blood and considering not much research went on there, it was strange. It was probably a mental thing.

He went up to the receptionist, “Kitsune mage-psychic.”

They nodded and some more guards appeared. They grabbed the fox and headed into the back area to the holding cells.

Neve sighed, now that was over he could go home. However before he left he sent a message to Tetroneaque. He was officially off duty now so he might as well give the unfortunate creature some advice. If he didn’t listen or chose to ignore him then so be it.

“Tetroneaque, you probably have two days before you’re sent to TRIM’s base and if you have anything on you that will help you escape I advise you use it before then. And failing that if you end up at TRIM, do whatever they say, your life will be easier that way.”

Neve outside of work was not entirely heartless. Even though he desperately wanted to go home and go to sleep he was still going to check on Eve before he did. He didn’t have to but it was the right thing to do.

Maybe the fox would manage to escape, he wasn’t sure what kind of technology it had and if it didn’t…then it was in for a rough ride.

[OOC I'll let you finish Tetro and then COMPLETE! ^^
Good luck in the future to Mr Purple Fox and hopefully I won't have toture myself remembering how to spell his name again ^^]

Tetroneaque had already set up his mental barriers upon being taken from the van, thus missing the message from Neve.  His barriers became even more pronounced as they entered the building.  It smelt awful, like death and decay.  He had a thought that they should at least spray something to mask the awful odor.

His train of thought derailed though once some more guards appeared to escort him away to wherever it was they wanted to take him. They were much rougher than Neve and the other one had been, unnecessarily so.  He growled a little at them, until one cuffed him on the head.  It caused his ears to ring, though his helmet softened the blow.  In fact, the man had probably hurt his hand worse than anything else as he suddenly made a pained noise and shook his hand in the air.  Tetroneaque couldn't be sure, but he thought the man was probably swearing.  The other guard just laughed.

Soon they arrived at a dingy little cell and simply kicked the poor Kitsune into the room and slammed the door behind him.  They said something but he had no idea what it might be, and he had no intention of making contact with either with his psychic skill.  The thought of touching minds with one of those barbarians was unsettling to Tetroneaque.

Tetroneaque looked around his cell.  There wasn't much to see.  Just some stained floor and walls and the door behind him.  He caught the slight shimmer of some sort of energy field on the door as well.  There was no window, and the only light came from a tiny fixture in the center of the ceiling.  He didn't need light to see anyway though, and there was nothing to see.

"Oh what have I gotten myself into..."  Tetroneaque said to himself as he simply plopped down in the center of the barren room.  His stomach continued to growl and he put his hands over it.

"Oh shut up..."  He said to his stomach and then sighed.
