Tetroneaque couldn't quite understand why anyone would be uncomfortable around the use of psychics.  After all, everyone on his planet could talk with their minds if they wanted to... then again everyone on his planet was also a Kitsune.  He made a mental note that not all of these beings (which he still had not asked what they were called as a race yet) were not all blessed with the ability to commune with their minds.

Then the twins seemed to be delighted as he showed off his limited use of fox-fire.  He was starting to like all the attention, as it made him feel quite special.  He couldn't understand a single word the two said but he could understand the tone they were using.  It was the same tone he had used a kit when we wanted something from his parents and thought he could get away with it.  Somethings were the same no matter where you went he supposed.

Is that woman their mother?  What are they asking her?  He questioned, simply curious about the situation.  Since he was no longer feeling threatened he and the atmosphere inside the city was registering as comfortably breathable, he decided to deactivate his exo-suit.

He held up his left hand in front of himself, like someone checking a wristwatch, and manipulated the large green gem like object implanted in the back of the gauntlet.  Then with a little whoosh, the exo-suit began to slide in on itself until it was simply just an armored looking glove on his left hand.  The rest of him was now visible and exposed to the world.  He was wearing a white lab coat and pants, and nothing else it seemed.  His three large bushy tails seemed larger now that they were no longer confined to the exo-suit and his paw like feet were bare, tiny little claws tipping each toe.  His right hand, the one without the exo-suit control glove, also had the neatly trimmed claws tipping each finger.

His smile was a toothy grin, even though it showed a few fangs it hardly looked threatening.  His eyes were giving off a faint light too, making him look like some sort of playful alien puppy.  One of his ears flicked forward involuntarily as a slight breeze passed through.

Eve laughed at the implication Reshona was Kasu and Sithon’s mother, sometimes she acted like it but she didn’t look anything like them, her hair was blue and their’s were blonde for a start…

“No, she’s their Mordecai, she is to Kasu and Sithon what Neve is to me,” she replied, “But because they’re younger they have to ask Reshona to use their magic, otherwise they could really do some damage with it. They’re not really responsible enough with their powers yet.”

It wasn’t exactly lying…What she had said was true of the twins, they were really irresponsible with their magic if Reshona didn’t stop them.

When the fox removed his suit Eve had to admit he was rather cuddly looking, just like a big puppy…except he was wearing clothes and looked like a scientist of some sort. Though he had mentioned his lab had exploded.

Reshona eyed Neve then said, “Alright then.”

She obviously thought they couldn’t get up to much mischief if another Mordecai was there. Neve however looked like he was getting impatient but it would suspicious if they hurried the fox along. He could do nothing and he was very annoyed by that fact.

Kasu closed his eyes, then little fireballs began swirling round him, they were larger than Tetroneaque’s though and emitted heat as well. Sithon meanwhile created a spiralling flame which snaked around his body.

Tetroneaque was rather impressed with the fiery display from the two young mages.  It was quite the show for the Kitsune and it showed on his face.  He had a delighted smile across his muzzle and clapped happily too, just like a child himself enjoying some fireworks.

Please offer my thanks for letting me see such a splendid display of pyromancy.  That was quite impressive!  I doubt I could muster anything like that myself.  He admitted.  It was true though, his own fox-fire was nothing compared to the brilliant flames the two young firemages were creating.  And the control was phenomenal.

They certainly look responsible enough to me with their flame control.  Then again I don't have any children of my own so I guess I don't really know much about raising them.  He let out that strange laugh of his again.  He really had no problem admitting when he didn't know about something, otherwise how would one learn?

“He liked your display kids,” Eve said to the twins though they could already tell from his clapping that he had.

They were beaming at the compliment and the fox looked really cute with his goofy doglike expression. It really was adorable.

“They can be little hell-raisers when they want to be.”

Reshona and Neve’s communicators beeped in unison then. They both looked at them and frowned, though Neve was already frowning so his expression didn’t change all that much. Then she received a psychic message from her Mordecai.

“It said, ‘You’re wasting time, deal with him now. Eve’s magic should work because he has taken his protective suit off. Reshona, Kasu and Sithon will assist’.”

She wasn’t sure if the fox had heard that but she kind of hoped he had so he could put his suit on again. Reshona had obviously just told the twins because all of a sudden they looked really sullen.

Eve then heard Neve’s voice in her heard again, but this time it was obviously directed at the fox, “Tetroneaque Swiftpaw Tailchaser, you are arrested in the name of Edanith on counts of being a mage, a psychic and a creature of a magical nature.”

She hated when Neve said that, though he didn’t usually say all three of those things at once. Poor Tetroneaque.

Oh all children can be that way.  I think it's just the nature of kits.  He replied in response of the twins being little hell-raisers.  He was still in a rather good mood.  He'd found a city with some interesting beings that were willing to help him out.  The two 'bodyguards' had their communicators beep then.  He figured it must be some business or another, nothing to concern him.  Apparently he was wrong.  He felt a tickle in his head, as the two beings he was linked to communicated.  He didn't know what was exchanged though as he respected their privacy.  If they wanted to share their thoughts with him they knew how.  Then he was informed of his arrest.

His eyes went wide in shock.  Suddenly everything was changing!

Surely you can't be serious!?  Arrested simply for being as I was born?  What kind of law is that?  I can't help what and who I am!  Can't we negotiate?  He pleaded mentally, his confusion over the sudden change in his guides' attitude was so bizarre to him.  He didn't even think about putting his exo-suit back on.  All he would have needed to do is press the large green gem on the back of the glove on his left hand, but he didn't.  He truly believed he would be able to talk some sense into them and avoid any violence.

“We will escort you back to the base where you will be questioned. Should you try and escape will we be forced to take drastic measures.”

The twins couldn’t even look at the fox but this was the nature of their job, nay their very existence. And since Tetroneaque was probably going to be forced into such an existence as well she might as well tell him. What was Neve going to do? The fox already knew they had betrayed him.

”Tetroneaque…Edanith hates mages. It forces them into its military, like me Kasu and Sithon were. Reshona and Neve…control and suppress our powers to the military’s needs…It isn’t their fault though, anyone born with their abilities are forced into the military as well…And if any of us refuse we end up dead or in a lab somewhere being experimented on…I’m really sorry…”

Neve turned to her, “If he tries to escape, shock him.”

The look on Tetroneaque's face could only be described as horrified.

Th-that's... That's HORRIBLE!  Tetroneaque practically screamed through the mental link.  His fright and horror over the ordeal was so much that the emotions of it washed through the link and slammed into Eve and Neve almost like a physical blow, though Tetroneaque hadn't intended it to.  He was still unused to communicating to a non-Kitsune in this manner.  He did however take the opportunity to re-activate his exo-suit though, giving him some protection.  The exo-suit rapidly grew out from the glove and encased his body once more in nearly the blink of an eye.

I could make a run for it!  My suit can withstand the fire or lightning.  To where would I run though... my lab's resources are exhausted, I have no space ship... I'm stuck here one way or another.  As the grim reality sank in, Tetroneaque suddenly just sank to the floor as his legs seemed to simply give out.  He was just shocked such a barbaric practice could happen anywhere, and not just happen but seemingly have an entire civilization thrive on it.

Tetroneaque shut the mental link, effectively sealing himself off from everyone else.  He just sat there, his tails curled around him as he rocked back and forth emitting a pitiful little sound.  It was enough to break your heart.  It didn't seem like he was going anywhere.

Neve was taken by surprise by the psychic blow from the fox, he had felt such a thing before so it didn’t take him long to recover. Eve however was thrown backwards by it…and she wasn’t moving. That could not be good. Kasu and Sithon could render him unconscious with their magic but when he managed to activate his suit again it became impossible. Now what should they do?

The fox however didn’t run away or even put up a fight, he just sat on the on the ground rocking backwards and forwards. Maybe he wouldn’t be so difficult to get back to base after all.

     “Reshona.”

The pair each grabbed an arm and basically dragged him across the ground.

     “Atara, wake Eve up.”

Saying Kasu and Sithon all the time was tiresome so occasionally, Neve would refer to them collectively as Atara which was their surname. It was three syllables instead of five.

The pair nodded meekly and ran across to her.

Meanwhile the two Mordecai dragged the fox creature into the base. He wasn’t very heavy so it wasn’t a problem that Reshona wasn’t the strongest of females. When they entered they indicated a cell door to a passing guard who instantly opened it. Reshona let go of Tetroneaque carefully whereas Neve just pushed the purple fox into the room.

     “We’ll be back shortly.”

When questioning mages it was always two Mordecai, obviously he’d be with Reshona but there was no way in hell he was letting the demon children in. If Eve couldn’t do it they’d manage without a mage to restrain him. He didn’t seem dangerous but he might suddenly get the idea he could escape. If that was possible many of the mages and Mordecai would have done so a long time ago.

Tetroneaque only seemed to more horrified of what he had done to the female.  She looked unconscious after his emotional backlash hit her and Never.  He hadn't meant to do it though.  That feeling didn't help though.  He simply didn't know what he was going to do now.  If he ran he might get away, but he had no where to go to.  He'd starve to death long before he found some way to get home, or even signal them to what happened to him.

He simply let himself be carried away, not even struggling.  He couldn't hurt his new captors even if he wanted to.  Fox-fire wasn't hot enough to melt wax, and his physical attributes rendered him about as dangerous as an eight year old human child.  He didn't want to be used as a weapon for war... and he didn't think they'd be able to force him to anyway as long as he kept his mental barriers in place.  That meant he wouldn't be able to communicate with anyone though... not that he was in a really chatty mood then anyway.

They tossed him into a cell, not being gentle about it all it seemed.  Luckily his exo-suit cushioned him so he didn't bruise.  He didn't understand what Neve said, since he had severed his link to the aliens.  Once he was alone he let out a mournful howl.

"Oh what am I going to do now?  This place is horrible!  Surely there must be someplace that doesn't endorse slavery... if only I knew where."  He lamented.  He spoke out loud now, just wanting to hear the familiar sound of his native language.  It was a little comforting, but not much.

[OOC Time skip ^^....only of an hour or so though]

     “Damn paperwork,” Neve thought.

They couldn’t even begin to question Tetroneaque until they’d filled out a report and that had taken an hour. In that time some technicians had gone to seize the fox’s ship and no doubt the creature had become more and more sorry for its self. The howls coming from his cell certainly seemed to suggest that.

Neve pushed the button to open the cell door and stepped inside, followed by Reshona. Eve was still unconscious, she just wasn’t used to psychic attacks, she’d be fine when she woke up. The fox had seemed a little guilty about hurting her though so maybe they could use it to their advantage.

After they entered, Neve pressed a few buttons on the keypad to activate the recorder. Not only did it record speech it recorded psychic waves as well, something they’d need with Tetroneaque.

     “State your name.”

Of course they already knew his name, but it was a formality.

Tetroneaque simply sat in the corner, totally ignoring the two that entered his cell.  He refused to openly communicate with them physically anymore.  He didn't trust them anymore and wouldn't bring down his mental barriers.  He may not have been the strongest when it came to using physic attacks, but his barriers had yet to taken down ever.  Tetroneaque simply glared at the two, his ears laid down flat against his head.  It was an obvious sign of how betrayed he felt and his anger toward these odd aliens and their evil ways.

"If you want to talk you can go ahead, but I'm not communicating with you mind to mind anymore...you...you furless liar!"  Tetroneaque literally growled out the reply.  Of course it would be incomprehensible to them, but he didn't care.  He wasn't taking his mental barriers down again anywhere near these people.

"If you want to converse then you can learn my language... or bring me some materials to learn your own."  He added in his strange language.

Great…it seemed he wasn’t communicating with them telepathically anymore. And he only knew ‘Eve’ and ‘Neve’ in their language…Though maybe that was all you needed…Hmm…What was one more lie.

“Reshona, I want you to play along.”

She looked at him suspiciously, “What are you going to do?”

“Pretend Eve is dead and I’m really angry about it.”

She sighed exasperatedly at him, “You are a bastard.”

What else could they do? They didn’t have any other plan.

“For someone who claims to come in peace, you’re probably as big a liar as we are!” Neve spat, “You killed Eve you bastard!”

     Hopefully this would work…

Tetroneaque merely stayed sitting in the corner, glaring the two.  He hadn't done anything wrong!  They arrested him for simply existing it seemed.  What kind of law was that?  He was only half listening to them, since he couldn't really understand anything they said anyway.

Then Neve seemed to get rather angry suddenly, as if something just couldn't be held back any longer.  Tetroneaque's ears perked up at the word "Eve" since it was the only one he understood, and the fact that Eve had seemed genuinely sorry about arresting Tetroneaque.  He felt bad for knocking her out, but it had just been a reflex coupled with the lack of experience with dealing with more than one person at a time in that form of communication.  He hoped she was all right.  Then he had a terrible thought.

What if I hurt her really bad?  She didn't do anything to me... Is that what Neve is yelling about?  Did I hurt Even?  He wondered to himself.  His ears were standing up straight now instead of laying flat against his head in a hostile gesture.  He was paying attention now, but not much else.

The fox didn’t seem to be paying attention until Neve said the word ‘Eve’. Now he was listening, but would he allow psychic contact? It was worth a try.

“I don’t know if you’re listening but your psychic attack killed Eve. Psychics are rare here and most of the mages can’t handle them. Even if you didn’t know that, any psychic should to be careful with their powers!”]/i]

The fox seemed to have morals so hopefully that little statement might get him talking. And if he ignored them again…then he was all out of ideas aside from physical pain.

Tetroneaque decided to take a risk and re-establish his mental communication with Neve.  After all, even though he felt betrayed and used he couldn't isolate himself forever.  Eventually he'd need food, and water, and other things that he had no means of obtaining without assistance.  He established the link just in time to hear, "...your psychic attack killed Eve.  Psychics are rare here and most of the mages can’t handle them. Even if you didn’t know that, any psychic should to be careful with their powers!"

He was utterly shocked.  He didn't think he'd be able to kill anyone!  It wasn't even an attack, just a flood of emotions.

I'm sorry!  I didn't mean to hurt her!  I wasn't even trying to hurt her, you just surprised me with the arrest and my emotions just sort of flooded out toward you both!  Tetroneaque was crying a little now too.  To top of how horrible it felt to be put in prison for something he had no control over, now he had killed someone...at least he thought he had.

He curled his tails about himself tighter and started to weep more loudly.

I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry...  It just repeated over and over, and the emotions coming with it were only amplifying the sincerity of the message.

[OOC We really need someone to come save him o.O My posts keep getting shorter >.<]

As used to psychics attacks as the Mordecai were, this fox’ bordered on inhuman…but then he wasn’t human. Either his powers were very strong or he was an emotional wreck…probably the latter. It was communicating now but just kept saying ‘I’m sorry…’ over and over.

If it wasn’t one problem it was another. He had to try talking to Tetroneaque though.

“You said you came from the Kitsune Empire’ where exactly is that?”

His manner seemed to have changed quickly but he doubted the fox would notice.

[OOC This really is the last one tonight, I'm going to bed now]

Tetroneaque was sniffling a bit since he was crying.  He was sending wave after wave of emotions at Neve, though he really wasn't trying to do it.  It might have been because Neve had that odd link with Eve, or simply because Neve wasn't a Kitsune like Tetroneaque.

Tetroneaque was too distraught to care though at the moment and answered the question.  It wouldn't hurt anyway since neither of them had a way to get there.

The Kitsune Empire is the name for the Empire of my people.  It spans several systems, including over forty planets and hundreds of space stations in the Vulpes Nebula.  Our home planet is Vulpes Prime and is ruled by the Council of Nine.  As to where it is located in relation to this planet... I couldn't tell you since I only came here by accident when my matter transporter overloaded.  The reply was surprisingly composed considering his emotional state at the moment.  After his reply though he just went back to the,  I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry...  mode again.

Suddenly his bout of "I'm sorry" stopped and his eyes went wide.

Oh no... your technicians are going to try to get into the Fury aren't they?  YOU HAVE TO STOP THEM!!!  His mental shouting was powerful enough, fueled by his emotions as it was, that every non-Kitsune within a mile would have suddenly heard the last part in their mind without knowing why.

The fox’ explanation of his home wasn’t helpful since Neve had never heard of it before and he doubted Reshona or any of his superiors would have either. The creature’s answer had been fairly coherent then, once a scientist always a scientist probably.

Tetroneaque’s sudden change in attitude surprised him however and with his burst of emotions, Neve found himself slammed into the nearby wall. That was not fun. This fox was actually quite dangerous. Though the wave hadn’t affected him too badly he suspected that such a force may have been able to really kill Eve, and possibly Reshona as well. Making him become a military mage was probably too dangerous. Neve hadn’t been seriously harmed because…well he wasn’t really human.

That only left two options, death or TRIM. More likely TRIM…Maybe he could kill the fox here and now and save him the torment later. He doubted that he’d get in too much trouble for it as the fox was potentially dangerous after all. The suit prevented it however, and in the system it was likely only the scientists at TRIM could forcefully remove it. Besides he might be lucky, they might take him on working there rather than experimenting on him. Tetroneaque was probably too moral for that though and likely to be too precious a specimen.

“That wave of psychic energy or emotions or what ever it was, could have probably killed a lot of the mages and it might have been able to kill Reshona as well if she was in contact with you. The only reason I wasn’t killed is because I’m not human. You’re too dangerous so I doubt you’ll be forced to work for the military. You’ll probably be shipped off to TRIM. And trust me; that’s much worse.”

I'm sorry!  I'm sorry!  I'm not used to dealing with your kind or humans, as you call them.  You need to make sure your technicians don't try to force their way into my Fury!  They'll die if they try to, and I don't want anyone else getting hurt because of me!  Kitsune technology is a mix of regular science, our natural magic, and our psychic force.  Without an understanding of all three anyone trying to get inside is likely to be labeled a hostile life form and hurt badly.  At the least they'll suffer a blast from the sonic disruptor, which will merely render them unconscious.  However continued tries to get in will be met with harsher and harsher responses until they unwittingly activate the gravity cannon!  Trust me, you don't want to see what that gravity cannon can do to a living being.  Since the warnings are all in my language they won't be able to understand!  Please warn them before something happens to them!  Tetroneaque pleaded, getting his emotions under control a bit.  Even though these people would probably kill him, he didn't want to be responsible for hurting more of them.  He was convinced if he simply had enough time he might be able to reason with them to let him go.

You have to warn them now!  Tetroneaque wrapped his tails tighter around himself, showing just how anxious he was.  He knew these people were rather impatient, now recognizing the earlier electrical attack as them simply trying to capture him then.  They were too impatient and likely to get themselves hurt by hurrying along.

Now Tetroneaque was having horrible visions running through his head of these people accidentally get caught in a blast from the gravity cannon, one of his races most powerful weapons.  These humans and other species being reduced to a liquefied state was enough to make him nauseous.

“The technicians aren’t stupid, they’ll try to force their way in once and then resort to subtler methods.”

The fox’ craft might be as dangerous as he claimed but that was for the technicians to deal with. And like he had said they weren’t stupid, if they couldn’t force their way in, they’d try hacking, probably from a distance. The fox was just paranoid.

Tetroneaque hadn’t made much of what he said about TRIM. He probably hadn’t taken it in. Oh well. He’d have to when he was there.

“In case you weren’t listening. You are going to be sent to Thanatos Research Institute of Metaphysics. There you’ll probably be experimented on. Or if you’re really lucky they might let you be a researcher. They’ll probably still want to cut you up and see just actually how you work though.”

He was being a little mean now, but he was annoyed and just wanted to get rid of the fox so he could go off duty.
