It was a rough time again. She sighed wondering how many times she would have to start over. They always came close to capturing her again. She managed to change her looks yet again hoping that the longer darker hair helped them to forget what she looked like.
It wasn't like she could do much. She was smart, but held nothing that could get her a high job than busing table at the last place. This time she was looking for something more. Nobody was willing to hire her though. Her past looked horrible, and she knew it would only get worse. She bolted from the last job, and couldn't exactly ask for a reference unless she wanted to relocate again.
Mel was about to give up on the job hunt and go home. It didn't look like she was going to have any luck on this one. She thought about opening her own shop of odds and ends, but didn't think it would do well in the long run. She just didn't have enough contacts. Rounding a corner she ran into something or rather looking around it was more of a someone.
