Advanced Training Complex / Re: A Different Kind of Dance
« on: September 03, 2017, 02:46:01 pm »
Training was always calming to Rodion, if anything was. He found it helped him control his anger some and more often than not he could be found in the Harpies' favored training halls at the ATC. Maybe he liked being here because it was still the ATC. Sure it was pretty far removed from the sections that candidates frequented, but it was still home.

Home. Is that how he felt about it? He certainly preferred the ATC to anywhere else. He certainly had spent a good portion of his life here. He felt like this was his place, where he could be in control, even if it was only a small amount of control now. Perhaps it was because in the back of his mind, in the most locked away dark recesses of his brain, there was a nagging stabbing little feeling that he wasn't cut out to be a Pilot after all. He was great as a candidate but adjusting to life outside the ATC was an entirely different subject.

He almost hated it. He wanted that sense of control back. He wanted to run things again. He wanted to excel and be great again. Being a Cardinal was like a slap in the face to him. Was that why he was lashing out at Quirin so hard? Because he was actually envious?

He had said some pretty awful things and Rhema was mad at him. He was on lock out, again, but as long as he could come here- even though he was not allowed into the candidate sectors, as long as he could come train, punch some things, let out some telekinetic aggression, he would be fine.

What was not fine was being caught of guard by a surprise flying tackle by a desk riding precog.

Rodion telekinetically shoved Rhys off him with a bit more worked up power than he intended. The shove was hard, but he didn't send the other flying or anything. His adrenaline was really pumping now, almost like when squadron leader Kiers worked his gifts during simulations. Rodion got to his feet and glared at his 'friend'.

"You want to spar Pilot Argel?" It was not a sparring match, but calling it anything else would mean this was not training, which meant it could hurt his career. "Because I told you the truth and you couldn't man the fuck up and handle it?"

As long as we are not involved, I don't care who is behind the disturbance as long as they are dealt with. If it was one of us. I pray for them.

I wish to do a role call to ensure none of us is involved with anything related to the current disturbance.

Angels descending bring from above

If you are afraid of checking in I understand your hesitance in these troubling times and why going deeper underground may seem safer but with certain preoccupations by leaDership, now may be in actuality the safest time for a check in.

Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

If you do not speak up I will assume you are involved in that which you should not be. I agree with what Prosper said not long ago. Now is not the time.

Perfect submission, all is at rest

Please my siblings. Let me know you are here and you are true to our cause in the only way that ensures our survival.

I in my Saviour am happy and blest, watching and waiting, looking above.

Aedolis Characters / Kurush Suhail, Pilot Noble (WIP)
« on: August 20, 2017, 08:01:31 am »
{NAME}
Kurush Suhail
{ALIASES}
"Krush", "Sweet Fig" (only one being calls him this) "Kourt" (Only the Scorpions call him this), formerly "Kourtney" (NEVER EVER CALL HIM THIS)
{AGE}
36
{GENDER, SEXUALITY}
Male
...
{SPECIES/ETHNICITY}
All human as far as he knows.
Aedolian (of old Essyrni blood)
{HEIGHT/BUILD}
5'9
Well built and very muscular.
{OCCUPATION}
Pilot Noble and Squadron Leader for the Adsreia Hellions
{RESIDENCE}
Adstreia, originally from Haviah
___________
IN DEPTH STUFF
___________

{PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION}
Kurush is well built and has a lot of muscular toning, especially in his arms. He has long reddish-black hair with a few streaks of grey at his hair line. Lately he wears most of his hair down in loose waves with a few small braids with little glass beads on them mixed in. His chocolate skin is marred with a few scars, mostly small and barely noticeable, except for one on the underside of his chin and a particularly nasty one on his inner left thigh. His eyes are hazel but seem much more brown than green, in fact the green is only noticeable if one really stares at them up close.

Kurush has his septum pierced and usually wears a pretty black and green jeweled clicker in it when off duty. He also has a few tattoos. One is of the Hellions' mascot breaking chains on the upper section of his left arm. The chains wrap around to the inner part of his left arm where the they twist around a bird cage with a scorpion on top of it and an anatomical heart inside it.

Another one of his tattoos is a large bouquet of flowers on his back that consists of baby breath, delphinium, forget me nots, three begonias and a single dahlia.

{PERSONALITY}

THE QUIET ONE
Often silent, obedient and reserved. Much of Kurush's personality is closed off even to those he is close with. He will speak when addressed, or offer advice when needed, but often keeps his opinions to himself.

I ALWAYS FEEL LIKE SOMEBODY'S WATCHING ME
Less in the paranoid sense and more because it is true. His dragon Deneb often imposes his will on even Kurush's daily tasks and it is hard for Kurush to assert his own needs over it. After all, that could be deadly for him. It also seems that Deneb is not the only one watching Kurush.

I AM ONLY TRYING TO HELP
His base personality is one of generosity and compliance. He wants to do well and do well for the sake of others. He will do what is needed of him and will try to save as many as he can in the process.

ARE WE STRANGERS, OR AM I YOU, ARE I?
Assorted feelings of strange familiarity with someone he has just met, and a sense of not being himself have silently plagued Kurush as of late. It is exceedingly hard to comprehend given his own traumatic past and the suppression of his own will by his dragon.

DECOMPRESSION IS HARD WITH A VOICE INSIDE YOUR HEAD
Like all the Scorpions' old guard, Kurush has a therapist and makes fairly regular trips to DoSaM for his sessions, something only his current commander and his fellow survivors know. It is very difficult for him to speak with his therapist about his trauma because in his case much of it was exacerbated and inflicted by his own dragon who he can constantly feel the connection with in his head.

Fun Facts!:
  • Loves music. All kinds. Is usually listening to something on his headphones or even in the com system of his helmet. Sometimes he listens to music even during drills and missions as it helps trigger his visions. It does not distract him from his duty or hinder his communication with other squadron members.

{SPECIAL ABILITIES}
Telepathy- Strong enough to converse over long distances.

Precognition- Kurush can only see things that may happen in the near future (the furthest he has ever seen into the future is two hours) and near to where he is (the furthest vision was of something that could happen 500 feet away). The limits on his precognition are strange but they are useful for combat scenarios, especially since he has learned to trigger visions. Triggered visions have a lower rate of accuracy, however they are still useful for seeing what options an enemy has available.

I am relaying this on behalf of Pilot Cardinal Rheeves.

Retrocog vision report-

Pilot Echo Rook is likely to have been in the lower levels, possibly sector 431d or in the vicinity of it. Reports of playground equipment near or in the area Pilot Echo Rook was held in.

The suspect is not human and should be approached with caution and should not be startled. This was most likely not an attack on our ranks but motivated by hunger. The suspect is possibly mentally unstable and is unpredictable and possess some sort of suppressant / hypnotic abilities.

Will update with Pilot Cardinal Rheeves' full report.

The Citadel / Re: A Good Day to be (Temporarily) Reinstated
« on: August 07, 2017, 10:08:50 pm »
Jon was officially 37 seconds late. Not that Lufti had been counting.

However, when the younger Pilot arrived, well, Lufti really was glad to see him. He had been working solo since the partners they tried to stick him with after Jon did not work out. At all. He thought he wanted solo work. He didn't. He hated it.

"You're late." The blue Pilot grumbled as he gestured for Jon to follow him, not waiting to see if Jon offered an excuse. He didn't.

The headed in silence to a small conference room where Pilot Noble Darrin Rogers, one of the lead detectives in the department, stood in front of a table and gestured for them both to sit with a small huff.

Lufti saluted and sat down on in the end chair while Jon sat next to the room's only other occupant. Pilot Echo Estrada.

"You three have been selected to aid Inquiry with a very sensitive case." He said simply, sliding over tablets preloaded with the relevant case data. "Familiarize yourself with the information and report to your assigned contacts on this case. You have also been granted clearance for the com channel for this case." He said gruffly, his eyes mostly on Jon who was making sure to carefully read over the case.

Lufti had almost forgotten how much Pilot Noble Rogers hated Jon. It had no place now though. Lufti scrolled through the information and then looked at his listed contact. Pilot Noble Hektor Hecates.

"You all have different contacts you will answer to directly. Pilot Echo Estrada, you will be assisting with the search and sweep of sectors. Report to Pilot Noble Isabel Kiers. Pilot Echo Lufti, you will report to Pilot Noble Hecates and will be corresponding between our databases and Inquiry's to identify and unsubs. Rheeves."

Jon's head raised as his last name was uttered with distain."You will report to Pilot Noble Matthers. She requested you on this case specifically. Be sure to thank her for your reinstatement."

Lufti had never felt the urge to punch a superior Pilot before. This was hardly the time for any of this. A Pilot was missing. Yet, Jon just nodded and responded with a "Yes sick."

Rogers dismissed them and Lufti looked at Jon's serious and hardened face. It was not the first time he has seen such an expression on his face, but it always felt wrong not seeing some semblance of a smile on that face.

"I am going to contact Pilot Noble Matthers directly for orders." Jon said as they headed towards the elevator. Lufti looked over to see if Lorraine was following them.

"I will do the same with Hecates." Lufti said simply. It was of course the most efficient way to receive orders.

The elevator pinged. The doors opened.

The Pilot Chat is currently only available to those of us that have clearance here and Pilot Echo Rook's device. Since there is something interfering with the tracking chip we need to try and keep the signal on to get a location. Please try to calmly engage the suspect to prolong device activity.

If any of you are involved in any illegal activities and acting on your own I highly suggest you stop it now.

No one should be taking radical action. Our survival is still tenuous at best and we need to protect what we have built. If any of you have resorted to drastic action-

No. I will not react rashly towards rash behavior. Still. Please know our numbers are small. We need to stick together there is so much at play right now that can jeopardize everything. This is not the time for action.

I was on my way to Sector Ca, Midsection 126B to see the evidence. Where should I be redirected to?

UPDATE- There is no signal from Pilot Echo Rook's device and there seems to be some sort of interference in tracking it's chip.

I will persist in trying to locate the device until I receive further orders.

The Citadel / A Good Day to be (Temporarily) Reinstated
« on: August 07, 2017, 07:22:19 am »
[OPEN BY REQUEST!]

The first thing that woke Omajon Rheeves was a nudging grunting voice in his head, no gentleness in the cold mechanic tone only a blunt 'Get up'.

His eyes fluttered open. What time was it? It still seemed so dark. Was that his alarm going off already? That blaring noise from his phone was definitely going to wake up Chance if he left it unchecked. He groped the end table for his phone to shut off the cacophonous ring of-

That wasn't his alarm. This was an alert.

Jon bolted upright and stared at his phone, at the alert message as he jolted out of bed. He turned to see if Chance had gotten an alert too. But his side of the bed was empty. Jon scrambled out from the covers and grabbed his uniform out of Chance's closet getting dressed as the words from his alert message sunk over him.

Pilot Cardinal Omajon Rheeves:

You are hereby reinstated on probationary terms to the Seeker Department.
Report immediately for further instructions.

Adrenaline was coursing through him. He felt like a rookie all over again. Things sounded bad and. No they were bad if he was being reinstated like this. Was this about-

His phone buzzed again. Chance. Well not Chance. Lufti.

Pilot Echo Lufti: Pilot Rheeves I am glad you are being reinstated as my partner for the time being. Have you been briefed on the situation?

Jon wasn't sure what was more terrifying, the severity of all this or the fact that Lufti had used the word glad. There wasn't time to think about that though. He was dressed and no. Not armed. He had his firearms confiscated when he was demoted and-

It didn't matter. He was probably just going to be at his old desk in the Seeker department anyway.

He had meant to call out, to say goodbye to Chance as he left the apartment. Justt in case the other Pilot was still home. But he didn't. He was replying to Lufti instead.

Jon: No. My instructions were to report in. What is happening?

Pilot Echo Lufti: It is better to brief you here then. ETA?

Jon: ETA- 3 minutes.

Pilot Noble All Matthers, Credentials Verified, Message 22g-Q106802

I know we want to keep this internal since an Pilot Echo Zyanense is involved but has anyone thought to send the picture of the second unidentified subject to the Seeker Department? If this subject is working with an AWOL Pilot they may be a subject of investigation or interest to the Seekers already.

Tynova / Re: Things Fall Apart

Sevrin's facial muscles may as well have been a roller coaster.

When Glover said what he had been ready to repeat himself, and then came that resounding 'Of course you can!'

His mouth had pulled itself into such a big smile he was sure he could sell it as a capital U to whoever still printed books and stuff. Especially ones for little kids. He could live with uncle Glover and the two of them would be a family and-

And then his smile faultered, broke and fell, swinging on one hinge till it was upside down. No. No uncle Glover didn't understand. A week? That wasn't enough time. Forever was barely enough time. He just wanted to stay with his uncle and not deal with yelling all the time. He was about to open his mouth to protest but his uncle kept going, proposing something real. Something plausible.

An actual week. Not hypothetical. He could stay with Uncle Glover and hang out and do fun stuff like parents were supposed to. Sevrin snuggled closer to his uncle, closing his eyes again. The frown evened out to a small, cautiously hopeful smile. It was something at least.

"You think she will say yes?" He asked softly, having trouble staying awake.
