Emrys functions as an actual diplomat overseeing and being involved in maintaining the peace between Aedolis and other planets and nations, and sharing and acquiring knowledge of space/space travel with and from them, at least on the surface. In reality, he is tasked with threat assessment and assessing the weaknesses of the foreign planets and nations threw which he moves.
Residence He keeps a family home in the Citadel of Haviah, on Aedolis. This is where he keeps his family, though one would be hard-pressed to call his familial relationships close or even warm. He also has permanent residence on the Stellarium, the point from which he often comes and goes and reports in.
__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF
Physical Description Emrys is, in a word, beautiful… one could also call him handsome or simply attractive, but his clearly Elven heritage has blessed him with elegant and delicate features. One might mistake his lithe and graceful appearance for physical weakness, but it would be to their likely doom. He is tall at 6’4” and weighs in around 170lbs. Despite being slender, Emrys is strong, but not layered in bulky muscle. He has sky-blue eyes, ivory skin, and blonde hair that has a slight blueish tint to it. He has high cheek bones and delicately pointed ears.
Emrys wears his hair short clipped and neat in a military style (high and tight) and his face clean shaven. His appearance is always impeccable weather in uniform or civilian clothing. When wearing civilian clothing he prefers suits that have layers (shirts, ties, vests, jackets, overcoats, scarves, hats, fancy shoes, etc.) and clothing with sharp pressed and tailored vertical lines that make him appear even taller and slenderer than he already is. Emrys walks and moves with the grace of an acrobat.
Personality Emrys exudes confidence and self-assured-ness with his every breath and movement. He is egotistical and quite sure he is indeed better than the general population of most places he has ever been. He’s silver tongue-ed and uses his empathic abilities in subtle and not-so-subtle, but often devastating ways, to his great advantage. He has no qualms about the emotional wreckage he leaves behind him in the minds of others.
Emrys is a true believer. He believes that Aedolis should be the supreme power in the universe. Just as he believes that he, as a Pilot, is better than most other people, he believes that Aedolians as a people are better than all other peoples. He believes that protecting and serving Aedolis, and maintaining her power are the most important mission. He would, without question, sacrifice himself or his own children to meet those ends. No means is unjustified when the ends are maintaining Aedolis’ supremacy.
Despite his actual emotional distance and coldness, he often comes off as warm, friendly, sociable, and approachable. This is in part because he acts the part very well, and partly because he is very good at applying subtle empathic manipulation on those around him.
Magic/Abilities Emrys is a very powerful Telepath, his ability to read minds comes as easily as breath, and he is subtle enough about it to go unnoticed except by someone as skilled as he. More specifically, he is a skilled Empath. His abilities with Empathy allow him to not only sense what emotions others are having, but to manipulate what emotions they are feeling. He could ease the worries of a scared person, bring someone into a fit of rage, or convince someone they were attracted to him... these effects only work while he's actively putting effort into it, and fade over a few minutes after he's stopped or left. He has to be close within about five feet of a person to manipulate their emotions, however he only needs to be in eyesight to sense them.

Extended family: He is emotionally distant from them, but keeps in touch, and continues occasional social interaction with them. His family are Upper Cast members, and this affords him social, political, and financial connections. His mother was pretty crushed by the change in his personality after he graduated. The little boy she had doted on no longer existed.
Immediate family: Emrys rules his immediate family with an iron fist. He’s not married, and he has had many ‘romantic’ relationships over the years (with men and women), but doesn’t remain permanently attached to any of them. His children, however; are his and he keeps them at his home in Haviah, under the care of nannies and tutors, and other hired help. He expects great things from his children. They want for nothing and receive an expensive education; he hopes most of them will eventually qualify for the Pilot program themselves. However, even if they don’t, he expects them to become contributing, productive members of society. At current, Emrys has three sons and four daughters ranging in age from 3 to 17.
*Jillana is 13, she has shown no psychic abilities so far. Emrys has aimed her education in a direction which will benefit a regular military carer. She is intelligent, has a sharp wit, and enjoys contact sports and marshal arts.
*Bevyn is 14, and often the focus of his father's ire. He would tell you there's no point in working hard if you don't have to, and is happy to get by on his father's good name and excellent credit. He'd tell you he's here for a good time, not for a long time. He shows some very weak psychic abilities, but was quickly denied entrance to the Pilot Candidate Program, due to his devil-may-care attitude and lack of dedication, care, or desire to join. His father is greatly disappointed in him, and does not keep it a secret. He enjoys drinking, smoking, and club drugs. Emrys has, on many occasions considered putting the brat out of his misery.

They are very close, given their mental link... Emrys has literally never been "alone" sense being bonded to Rojgher, except in the confines of the led rooms. This is a comforting, constant presence for him, and there's some emotional attachment as well, though Emrys is still unsure how to actually describe their relationship. He would define it as close and intimate, and he would also describe himself as feeling that he belonged to Rojgher. He defiantly has no delusions that they are or ever would be equals, but their relationship is not entirely one-sided either. He senses some form of Rojgher caring for or about him, but he also understands that if he ever stepped out of line, he wouldn't hesitate to correct him - swiftly and unpleasantly. Emrys makes a serious effort to never upset Rojgher. He has a firm understanding that he is Rojgher's Pilot, and Rojgher is not his dragon.
History Emrys was not always as cold and distant from people as he is now. Neither was he always so calculating in his actions. A long time ago, Emrys was a joy-filled, well-off, Upper Cast child. He always had great pride in being Aedlian and his parents encouraged this pride in him. His mother was a low tier psychic who had a good, but not glamorous job in military logistics. His father, however; was a skilled psychic, and a Pilot himself. Emrys practically worshipped the ground his father walked on. He wanted to be the man. He wanted to server and protect his home, and he was equally attracted to the shine and sparkle of the fame and glory of being a Pilot.
Emrys was an only child, his mother contracted a severe illness shortly after giving birth to him, which made her infertile, assuring that she only had one child to dote on, and dote on him she did. Emrys and his parents were very close during his childhood.
Emrys psychic abilities showed early, and he was tracked by the government, per protocol. At the age of thirteen, Emrys got his wish, and was accepted into the Candidate program. The physical rigors were particularly difficult during Gracies, given the fact that he was much younger than many of the others going through Basic, which made him physically weaker. The hazing he experienced was particularly viscous. Being different and not excelling in any area was a cause for him to come under attack. However, he made it through… with a few broken bones, a sometimes-bruised ego, and a strong determination to out preform all those who ever crossed him. Finishing Gracies gave him a new goal: to beat everyone who ever sought to harm him, to outsmart and outmaneuver them and eventually out rank them, as they started to be trimmed and he remained. His survival would be the biggest ‘fuck you’ he could give them.
The Candidate training program was brutal and it took him six years to complete it. Partly because he couldn’t graduate before his eighteenth birthday, and partly because, being so young, he had a lot of catching up to do with some of the older candidates in general life experience and, especially, physical ability.
As a Candidate, Emrys had seen, done, and experienced things that could only be described as horrific. When he graduated, he did not leave as the same exuberant youth he had entered. The then nineteen-year-old Emrys was a man, and quite emotionally distanced from others. He had lost his ability to easily connect to people, and gained the ability to employ subtle manipulation of others’ emotions to bend them to his will. He had lost his vibrant excitement for life, and gained the belief that protecting and serving Aedolis was worth any price of sacrifice.
The Candidate program had left many scars on him, and the physical ones were the least of it. Among other things, the long string of brief romantic encounters which he has added more beads to over the years is a direct reaction to his time spent in Candidate training. The lovers he’s taken (man or woman) he’s never kept around for long, though he used his abilities and power as a Pilot, to collect any children that have come from such trysts, so that he could ensure their futures were not wasted. He is searching for close, intimate relationships - he knows he's missing out on them, but he can no longer connect in that way, and it leaves a void in a part of him that he is continually trying to fill.
Immediately after graduation, Emrys began working as an Intelligence officer out in the field. His empathic abilities were particularly suited for this line of work, and were used to benefit Aedolis in the Edani War. After the war officially ended, and the Aedolis Stellar Invasion Force [ASIF] was re-branded the AEDA… and official diplomatic positions were made real, Emrys was transferred to the AEDA to put his skills to use as a "diplomat".
