[I'm just gonna leave this here since I was skipped over during my vacation >.> If it's a problem I do not mind this being removed and waiting until the previous arranged order comes back to me]

“Careful Cyrus. If you deafen the Pilots ears, the only way can respond is in your head, and I’m sure you find that oh so appealing” She couldn’t help but tease. Seemed like Cyrus would make it too easy. And yet it could also mean a great many headaches for her, being they were partners now. Perhaps she could report back to the council in a month or so and see about getting out of it. Or purchase some earplugs.

Kimi nodded slightly at the information from their psychics and stopped leaning against the wall for a moment. “Forgive my interruption. I’m all for double agents, the more inside information the better. But this situation is just a tad more complicated.” Her face was impassive as she spoke. “Amnesia is not permanent, and he is not a blank slate. He could be an asset yes, but he could just as easily turn on us if he happened to regain his memory…or if one of us sufficiently pissed him off.” She glanced at Cyrus briefly before continuing.

“Death would probably be the safest solution. But since most of us are opposed to that idea…” She shrugged slightly “We also cannot assume anything. If you are to trust him with anything beyond lying in a stretcher, I don’t think a probation period before doing so is out of the question.”

This was the only suggestion she could put forth really. There were just too many variables. Too many ways this could go horribly wrong.

But it wasn’t her decision.

Conrad felt Alicia stir behind him when Kimi said something about a probationary period. It wasn't out of the realm of possibilities at all. In fact, it made perfect sense. Conrad couldn't afford to make the hard and fast decision here. There was too much opposition in the room. He didn't want to make that decision. He had been brought up always seeing big decision made in the blink of an eye. He always wondered how his father had done it.

Weighing the options wasn't as easy as the old man had always made it look.

Conrad put a hand back to signal Alicia to leave the room. She gave him a look for a second then left. She was too volatile right now, too worried about making things easy on him. She was doing anything but. Conrad looked around the room then at Kimi and finally Temple. He crossed his arms in front of him.

"That's the best course of action right now. We keep an eye on him, see if anything changes." Conrad was aware that Pilots were crafty. He didn't know to what extent obviously, he himself had never lived in Aedolis. He just knew the stories, the pain, the suffering and the brainwashing. He shivered thinking about it. He was always impressed with the people who came from Aedolis with a spirit intact.

"Maybe he wanted to get away just as much as some of our people did." It wasn't like it was unheard of. It was rare but people still made it to Teinar from the bubble city.  Conrad sighed holding the bridge of his nose for a moment.

"We just have to make sure he's under observation most of the time." Conrad looked at Temple again putting his hands in his pockets.

"I apologize for that, but I'm sure you understand my...situation."

Both Temple and Kimi got fixed with a malevolent glare in turn, but it came around full circle to Temple. "Like hell I'm encouragin' your mind-rape!" he snarled, and didn't care if it made him sound like a crazy person because at least he didn't feel like a crazy person! Like he sure would if he actually replied to the voice in his head with thoughts. Somehow, answering out loud was less crazy.

"I ain't answerin' in my head. YOU answer with your mouth!"

Aramae rubbed her temples, trying to repress her annoyance. Ignoring all the yelling as best as she could, she focused on the important part and looked to Conrad and Kimi.

"If he's going to be under probation, I would suggest doing it humanely," Aramae said. "The consensus seems to be that he's done nothing wrong, but we should be careful, and I agree we should be cautious and observe him until we can be completely certain. But I don't see why that should include keeping him locked up. He should have an armed escort, certainly, but he's not some dog needing to be kenneled."

She gave a shrug. "I believe we should be treating him as a refugee rather than as a criminal. Show him hospitality and kindness and treat him with dignity. If we are so concerned with him trying to escape..."

Aramae barked a laugh and opened her arms. "Shit, I'd be trying to escape, too, in conditions such as these. Let's not give him a reason to attempt something desperate."
