A meeting in the library
« on: December 27, 2010, 09:43:53 pm »
The spine of a book rested on the underside of her arm while she held it open from the top with one hand. Her other hand was occupied by a juice box she had nabbed from the cafeteria on her way to the library. Technically she probably shouldn't be drinking around the books or anything else in the library but she couldn't help it. The juice boxes were just so damn good. If she was told to throw it out though she would. It hadn't happened yet so she was content to continue drinking the contents of the small box.

There was nothing in particular she was focusing on either. She was just looking. She never went to the library much and when she did she usually just used the ebooks. They were much faster to flip through. The normal books always look so fragile, like they would turn to dust when you touched them. That was an exaggeration of course but sometimes one couldn't be too sure. The one she held now hadn't turned to dust but it seemed to still be falling apart slightly. The pages were worn and yellow, corners were missing and some pages were ripped a little. Even the binding didn't seem to be holding the pages in place completely. It was a book that had definitely been through a lot.

Looking through books was not why she was in the library though. It was just a time passer. In fact she was only in the library at the moment to meet the mentor she had been assigned to. He had emailed her earlier on with the time and place and she and ended up showing up early, to make a good first impression of course. She hadn't had a mentor up until that point and she never really questioned why not. So since this was her first one she wanted to make sure to seem like the best candidate she could be.

Felicity turned her arm slightly so that the book closed. She placed it back on the shelf where she had gotten it and took a long sip from her juice box. The small girl glanced around, wondering if she could find the person she was supposed to be meeting. It was surely almost the right time. But that was just a guess.

Either way once she was done she wanted to have some time to find Oliver. She wasn't giving the poor boy as much attention as he deserved and surely he needed some.
