Where do old space ships go when they are out of date and will be replaced?
you see i figured there would exist ship engineers and wreckers. When ships are too old or tossed aside. They go to a Scrapheap planet and get recycleled, then ship designers take care of the rest and TADA old ship parts can become new. Or atleast thats the general idea. This is where pirates could get their ships from although pirates in general end up simply comandeering vessels there must be a black market for military grade ones too.. Like for example a corrupt or private Scrapheap planet and then this and that could happen. But again its an idea, dunno if it has any base in reality cuz i couldnt find any info about it.
While i figure Edanith etc. would have their own recycle plans, civillians might opt for private owned ones because they actually get paid more to scrap them there.
