The criminal Element (Zombie)
« on: May 21, 2009, 03:22:32 pm »
Jorn had drawn the short straw, along with a couple of other pilot's. There had been rumours that a couple of the packs might be banding together, and planning something. It was probably nothing, and that was why the higher ups had dispatched a couple of lower Pilot's to go see what was up. They were sent down with full armor and a battle helmet as a precaution. So to the people of the Midhaven who had never seen them before, they wouldn't look human.

The groups were supposed to stick together, but the Midhaven was confusing, and Jorn had gotten lost. That was bad, as under here it was complete darkness. His helmet helped here because it gave him a limited night vision. Basically it lighten the world a bit more, to where instead of twilight, it looked like a night with a full moon, but it was still dark. To tell the truth, Jorn was a bit scared, he had never been down here before, and he hope dto never come back again.

He walked around Midhaven, totally aware. He noticed that as he passed, people would withdraw into the alleyway's and leave him alone. He liked it better that way. Even though, nobody seemed to be bothering him, he still walked with his hand lightly resting on his gun, out of habit. He was also reassured by the weight of the shotgun strapped to his back. It was getting darker, and he needed to be more alert. He wondered if anything was going to happen to him.

Corentin loved Midhaven. He had been around a very long time. He had watched the city be built. Then he had watched it go higher and higher, leaving it's garbage behind. And the creature had chosen to stay there, among the darkness and the rubble. It suited him better there. So much fear and flesh down there.

He didn't look much like a monster. He looked to be one of those ageless people, who could be anywhere from 30-50, with long, pale hair he wore combed back from his face. And unlike most of the people living there, Corentin was well dressed, his clothes clean. Nothing like a little glamor to make life bearable.

And there was a rather interesting prey today. Some little soldier boy from above, lost and alone. How tragic. Really. It brought a tear to his eye. Turning in the direction of the new scent, the fae made his way slowly along. No need to rush. He was in no hurry at all.

Moving through the dark passageways, Corentin had nothing to fear from the other things that lurked there. He was stronger then they were, above them and they knew it. And as he moved, his body shifted, twisting. Sharp bone spikes appeared along his body, and a thin tail lashed behind him. His hunting form was made to be sleek and effective.

He wanted to test his prey. See what he was made off. So Corentin began to circle around him, just close enough to be seen out of the corner of the mans eye. And the helmet would only further limit his visibility. Soft tapping sounds accompanied him as he moved, and the rustling of his clothes.

Jorn was getting even more freaked out. He was hearing this strange tapping coming from the shadows, and kept seeing a shadow in the corner of his eyesight, but every time he looked, there was no one there. Come on Jorn, keep it together. Just find the group and get out of here. He thought to himself.

Jorn felt as if there was someone watching him, but he couldn't see because it was too dark here. Jorn needed some light. He clenched his left fist and opened it, and all of a sudden his hand was engulfed by fame, and a fireball formed in his hand. IT threw light around him, but it was a flickering light, making even more shadows at the edges of the fireballs range.

He continued to walk forward, hoping he would find the other pilots.

Fire. How primitive. Corentin smiled to himself, teeth pointed and sharp. The dancing firelight just made his job easier. The creature started to make the circle a little tighter, getting closer.

No longer was me making quick darting runs. He was moving slower now, letting the little human know there was something out there. The light from the fireball danced off the bone spikes that covered him, causing them to gleam before he slipped back into deeper shadows.

The fear from the man was as much the fae's food as the actual flesh. He waned more of it, stronger fear. Humans were so used to being at the top of the chain, that when things started to hunt them, they didn't know what to do.

Jorn's fear was getting worse. His pulse quickened, his heart rate rose, and his eyes darted back and forth. He knew there was something out there, as he could tell y the gleamings in the shadows. The fire light was bouncing of something, and that something was toying with him. Jorn knew he had to calm down.

Calm, just stay calm. Jorn stopped moving, and took a couple of deep breath's, dropping his pulse and calming himself down. He reached down to his holster, and pulled out the pistol. He took the safety off, but kept it facing the ground. He amped up the fire which created more light.

Stupid little human. Guns were so ineffective. At least these modern blasters were. They no longer encased their bullets in steel. The fire the man controlled posed much more of a threat then that worthless little gun.

Corentin licked his lips, tasting that lovely fear. Perfect. It was always the highest on the food chain that gave the best fear. So used to being in charge, in control. And when that was taken from them it was lovely. He flexed his hands, the fingers ending to sharp taloned points. They scraped along the wall of one of the ruined buildings, sparking for a moment before he darted away, no longer there.

Soon. Soon the fear would peak and he could move in. Taste the mans flesh as well as his emotions. Corentin had no fear of the brighter light. The fear of not knowing what was out there would only be replaced by the horror of what he was facing.
