Broken little things (Dracy-face)
« on: January 24, 2009, 11:09:43 pm »
There was going to be a new kid in the house. Some boy Jace had found on the street, rather like the tiny pixie or indiscriminate gender that was currently peering around the corner at the door. He was a little nervous about meeting someone new. His world was quite small, just Jares and Jace.

But it might be good. Jace had found him on the street after all. Well, less found then taken home. Pari had approached the guitarist and had lived with him ever sense. It had been about a year and Pari had lost the thin, haunted look he had had. He was still an odd mix of clingy and painfully shy.

He was currently trying to not panic, as there was no one else home and the pixie hated being alone. What if Jace had just left? Or wasn't coming home? Or Jares. Taking deep breaths, Pari struggled to keep from panicking. Jace had promised he was coming back. Pari could do this.

Then a though hit. What if Jace had gotten this new person to replace Pari. Pari wasn't good enough anymore and Jace wanted him gone. Standing upright, the pixie started to hyperventilate. Why wasn't anyone home? Maybe they had all just left him? Because he had been bad!

Gasping for breath, the boy started to cry, huge fat tears. Where was Jace? Pari would do better! He would! He would be a good boy and make Jace happy. So Jace had to come home again!

Jocelyn Hamilton was basically the keeper of the lost kittens.  Jares while he’d been down and out, Pari when he clung to him and told him not to leave him alone. Jace’s house had been so big and so empty he’d let them have a room - He kept his parents room, the only room on the first floor. It felt nice to have people in the house again, they all had their problems, but it was the little bit of warmth and the hugs he knew he could provide.

A home.

Somewhere to call home.

Jace smiled at the short black haired boy. Looked like a spook, spiky black hair and bright odd-yellow orange eyes. Amber. He was slightly worried how the boy would react to living here. Gods, he must seem like such a creepy pedophile. He ignored it though and gave Vaughan a pat on the head, “We’ll go get you some new clothes tomorrow, Pari can help.” He put his hands on Vaughans shoulders and ushered him into the room to stop short and look up to the sound of sobbing.

“Wha...?” Jace froze and gently turned to Vaughan, “Hey, Vaughan? Can you take a seat on the couch?” The black haired boy gave a nod and wandered into the house to sit on the living room couch stifly, his hands clutching at his pants, looking around the unfamiliar room.

“Pari?” The man knelt down and looked up at Pari, pushing the pixies hair behind his ears and wiping the tears off of his cheeks. “What’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Worried he stared at his little friend and didn’t hear the foot-steps come up behind him.

The newest arrival Vaughan was an interesting looking boy, black hair and bright amber eyes. Amber like Pari’s were. The teen leaned against the wall and watched, slightly confused. When ever he had cried his dad had smacked him across the face harder than the initial beating that made him cry. Vaughan didn’t really cry anymore, even when it hurt to keep it in a reaction that would be hard to kill.

It would have to be something horrible to make Vaughan cry.

Licking his lips, Vaughan looked between Jace and Pari, not really wanting to intrude in their moment of random sobbing, but, he really had to take a leak. “Um.. Jace?” Pari. His name was Pari, right? ”Or, Pari? Where’s the bathroom?”

The small pixie almost collapsed with relief when the door opened and Jace came back. He was far to happy to not be alone anymore that he didn't even notice the new arrival. He just threw his arms around Jace's neck, cutting off the poor guitarists air, "Jace! Yolu came pack! Pari was so scared!"

Hiding his face in Jace's neck, Pari just cried. Unlike Vaughan, Pari tended to cry easily. He needed attention and became nervous and afraid when ignored. "P-Pari th-thought that Jace wasn't coming back!"

The sound of Vaughan approaching was hard to hear over Pari's crying and when the boy finally spoke, the pixie startled, the sobbing stopping as he froze, staring at Vaughan with a look of fear. He shrunk back a little, hiding against Jace's shoulder and peeking over it, looking very much like a small child, despite being a legal adult.

He didn't reply to the question, just stared up into eyes almost the same shade as his. Pari's were a bit more of a warm golden color then Vaughan's orange ones, but it was a close match. Sniffling, Pari wiped a hand across his nose, his eyes never leaving Vaughan's face, "You have the same eyes as Pari. They're pretty."

There was something in the boys look, his stance, that Pari understood. The black haired boy was broken too. Like Pari was. Pari tightened his arms around Jace's neck again, whispering in the guitarist ear, "I-is Jace gonna replace Pari?"

“Wasn’t coming back?” Jace had to laugh lightly and hug Pari tighter. It was like taking care of a scared kitten who shook and looked damn cute while they did it. “This is my house, of course I’d come back.” His hand ran soothingly down Pari’s back, careful of the wings and just hugged him. While Jace was hugging Pari and reassuring him, Vaughan just stood there and stared.

This was Pari.

Jace had said stuff about Pari, all of it nice and flattering. He hadn’t been expecting an androgynous crying... Pixie. He was delightfully surprised when Pari finally looked at him, same amber eyes. He smiled a little and put his hands in his pocket and leaned against the wall when Pari compliment his eyes.

Still had to pee.

“Jace? Bathroom?”  Vaughans voice was melodic and spoke of hidden talent, it was as deep as it was going to get and still held a smoothness to it that would be rare when he was grown up. Jace leaned back and looked at Vaughan for a moment before pointing upstairs. “Up there, end of the hallway, door should be open, just yell if there’s stuff on the floor I’ll clean it up later.”

With Vaughan upstairs going pee, Jace just tilted his head and looked at Pari, moving him off from around his neck so he cold stare into Paris golden eyes with his own green ones. “Pari, you’re my family now. You will never be replaced, ever. Okay? Never ever think that.” the noise of the toilet flushing had Jace standing up and wiping at Pari’s cheeks again with his sleeve.

“I’m going to set up Vaughans room, okay? Can you show him around downstairs?” Jace gave Pari a quick kiss on the forehead and Vaughan a shoulder pat when they passed one another in the stairway.

Vaughan cleared his throat awkwardly and stood with his feet together and his shoulders hunched forward, hands in his pockets trying to make himself look at tiny as possible. “Um...” He looked at Pari under thick black eyelashes and messy hair. “I’m Vaughan.” He nodded before licking his lips and looking back at the ground, “I’m going to be... Um... Staying the room next to yours, so... I hope we can be friends.”

It was an awkward greeting, but it was an extended hand of friendship that Vaughan expected to be slapped away with barbed wire and mean words.

Having people back in the house and Jace's reassuring words were helping calm Pari down and he no longer trembled and clung to Jace. His tears gradually slowed and he sniffled, "Really?"

Dealing with Pari was not an easy job, and Pari was aware of it in a sort of vague way. He was clinging and demanding and prone to either panic attacks or temper tantrums. The pixie was a strange mix of spoiled brat and abused kitten who flinched when people raised their voice to loudly.

Vaughan's smile at his compliment had the boy ducking his head behind Jace, cheeks flushed, shy around Vaughan. He would probably not stay that way for long, his bubble personality and hyper active nature would eventually resurface.

He just stared at Vaughan and Jace as Jace explained how to get to the bathroom, not saying anything. When Jace returned his attention to Pari, the boy nodded, hands clutching the hem of his shirt, "Really? Promise promise? P-Pari can be better....really! Pari can...."

Staring up at Jace, Pari desperately wanted to trust Jace. He loved the dark haired musician and would gladly have done anything he asked. And he trusted Jace to take care of him, and to not hurt him, but Pari had been broken far too thoroughly to believe that he wasn't replaceable. That one day Jace wouldn't just start screaming at him that he was a bad boy and to get the fuck out. That he wasn't wanted anymore.

He nodded again, eager to help, to prove that he was good to keep around, "Y-yeah. Pari can do that."

Alone with the new boy, Pari stared up at him. Despite Vaughan's short stature, Pari still managed to be smaller then he was. He shrunk back a little from Vaughan, nervous and unsure what to do. Their pulled in, hunched postures almost mirrored each other, two sets of almost identical eyes staring at the other one.

Then Pari's face broke into a wide smile, perking up a little, "I'm Pari!" The pixie's voice had a lilting, airy quality to it, a bit high pitched then most men, "Pari likes friends! Pari doesn't like being alone!" Then the tiny pixie had attached himself to Vaughan, nuzzling against him, arms wrapped tightly around the soon-to-be singers arms and torso.

Vaughans first reaction was to hiss and push Pari away violently, then it sunk in that this was a hug from a new friend. The young singer melted and he slowly moved his arms from his side to wrap up and around Pari’s shoulders, giving an exchange to the hug a small gasp of air leaving his lips. It was a hug. Vaughan ducked his head down, the few inches difference made him feel bigger, the protector, like he was needed.

Vaughan closed his eyes and sighed, falling more into the hug and snuggling closer. A simple smile was on his lips and he breathed deeply, taking in the smell of his new friend. It was comforting, it smelled like clean clothes and shampoo. Like a home. Vaughan swallowed thickly and leaned back, smiling, his eyes watery before he moved his arm across his face.

Clearing his throat he took a step back and took a deep breath. “Nice to meet you.” A watery smile and he licked his lips and took another breath. “Show me around?” Vaughan looked around and let his eyes rest on the living room, it looked lived in. It looked nice.

Also looked like a great place to nap.

Pari nuzzled his face into Vaughan's chest, clinging to him tightly. It would be okay. Vaughan wasn't going to replace Pari. He was a new addition to Pari's world. So the pixie clung to him like a life line. When he felt Vaughan relax against him, Pari made a happy noise, pressing as close as his small frame could manage.

Vaughan was taller then he was, just a little bit. It made Pari feel safe and protected. All safe and wanted and loved, wrapped up in Vaughan's arms. His small hands curled into fists in the boys shirt, not wanting to let go.

He only very reluctantly let go of the other boy and nodded, smiling brightly up at him, "Pari is happy to meet you too! Pari wants to be friends!" Taking Vaughan's hand, Pari made sure to not lose all contact with him. He was still a little upset after being left alone. But he was still too afraid to leave the house alone. Scared that everyone would be gone of that Jace wouldn't let him back in.

"This is the living room." Pari pointed to a comfortable looking over stuffed chair, "That's Pari's favorite chair. pari can fit his wings in it if he am careful. Sometimes Jace and Jares will watch movies with Pari here." At least his speaking in third person helped clear up any lingering questions about what gender Pari was.

Tugging on the boys wrist, Pari lead him into the kitchen, "Here is the kitchen. Jace cooks a lot. Pari isn't very good at cooking. But Jace makes me lots of yummy food. Pari likes sugar. Jace says its because Pari is a pixie." He then pointed toward the other end of the kitchen, "Jace's room is on the other side. But Vaughany shouldn't go there unless Jace says its okay."

It was kind of hard to let Pari go so they could explore. He’d never met anyone who needed more than he did. Vaughan felt protective, loved, something that was very unfamiliar and the teen smiled brightly for a moment when the feelings sunk in. He was home. Vaughan didn’t feel awkward here, he didn’t know where anything was, but he didn’t feel awkward at al, it was amazing. He’d be able to go into the fridge without asking for something, that was an odd feeling.

Vaughan watched Pair explain everything and smiled slowly before shaking his head and gnawing on his lip. “I... Like friends.” Lame.

Closing his eyes briefly, Vaughan moved around the kitchen at sat at the table, leaning on it slightly before smiling at Pari. “Umm... How old are you? You look younger than me.” Vaughan would giggle if Pari was older than him.

Jace looked like an adult, which was good. Vaughan was still slightly worried there was some hidden motive Jace had to letting him come live here, but he wasn’t all that sure it was... Because he was nice. “ Does Jace use you for sex?” Vaughan’s face was straight, and his lips were thin. If Pari said yes, or looked hesitant in his answering, Vaughan was going to high tail it out of there so far it would leave them all blinking.

(( DDD8 LAME. But it’s 4 am and I can’t think and I wanted to spit something out for you.))

Pari kept a tight grip on Vaughan's hand, afraid he might try and leave. Pari didn't want him to leave, he liked him already. He was like Pari. He needed someone. Lonely like Pari was.

Pari nodded, "Friends. Pari has three friends now." He beamed, thrilled with this number, "And Vaughan will have three friends too! Jace and Jares will love Vaughan too! They are Pari's family!"

Following Vaughan to the kitchen, Pari didn't go to the table as he let Vaughan's hand go. He went to the fridge and pulled out some almost neon colored liquid. It was slightly flavored sugar water pretty much and Pari adored it.

But Vaughan's question stunned Pari and he stared at the dark haired boy for a moment, not totally comprehending the question. Sex and Jace didn't really exist to Pari. The pixie stood staring at Vaughan, jug in on hand, mouth open and eyes wide, "W-what? Jace would never do that to Pari! Jace loves Pari! Why would Vaughan ask that?!" He wasn't angry, just completely shocked.

The proceeding moments left Vaughan slightly red in the face and embarrassed that he’d asked it in the first place. He never got that vibe from Jace. Why would he think that at all? Might be because Pari looked like a girl. Maybe Jace was into boys that looked like girls? Vaughans embarrassment went deeper when none other than Jace walked into the kitchen, his hair down and a soft smile on his lips. Towards Pari. Towards Vaughan.

“ That’s okay Vaughan. I... didn’t bring you here for that. You’re part of the family. Call it instinct.” Jace smiled and ran a hand over the back of Paris neck before reaching into the fridge to get a carton of orange juice. It was technically Jares orange juice, but Jace bought it so he’d have to share it. Pouring a glass, he plunked it in front of Vaughan who sheepishly drank it before looking down at his lap and muttering a quiet sorry.

“ Pari. Want to take Vaughan to his new room?” Jace turned to Vaughan who was swallowing the last of the orange juice, “ Everything you need for the night is there, we can slowly accumulate a wardrobe for you. You’ll have to make do with some old clothes of mine for now.” Jace smiled and snatched a pencil off the table before putting it between his teeth and grabbing a set of binders. “ Pari, I’ll be in the basement writing if you need anything that you guys can’t reach.” Jace flashed a smile at his wonderful teasing before he walked down the hall way to dissapear downstairs.

“I’m sorry...” Vaughan trailed off quietly before standing up and rinsing out the cup in the sink. A sheepish smile with his eyes downcasted and he left his cup in the sink and had his hands in his pockets. “ Um... Can we see your room first?”

It took Pari a moment to get over his shock, staring open mouthed at Vaughan for a few more minutes before closing it and managed to finishing pouring himself a glass of the water. Jace was nice and wonderful! Not for sex. Sex wasn't for people you loved.

Pari's experiences with sex were already quite twisted. And the idea of doing that with Jace or Jares left him feeling slightly ill. Pari returned the pitcher to the fridge and sipped his sugar water, watching Jace reassure Vaughan. He felt a little shy again, not sure if Vaughan was going to be upset with him for his reaction.

He nodded to Jace, before giving the older man a hug before he left, "Okay. P-Pari can show Vaughan his room." Then he huffed, puffing his cheeks out at Jace, "Pari doesn't need your help reaching anything!" He stuck his tongue out at the retreating guitarists back.

"Stupid Jace!" Pari huffed again, then gave Vaughan a nervous glance, clutching the large cup with both hands, unsure if he was still allowed to hug Vaughan, "Um....yes! Pari's room is next to Vaughan's. Pari likes it!"

Pari started toward the stairs, glancing nervously over his shoulder at Vaughan, making sure he was going to follow.

A ghost of a smile pulled at Vaughans lips and he looked down and twisted his fingers in his hands. Jace seemed nice. Vaughan liked that. Amber eyes flicked up to gaze at Pari for a moment. The dynamics between the two was comforting, it set his heart at ease and Vaughan could feel tears burning in his eyes again. Hands clenched at the thighs of his pants and he stood up and licked his lips before lifting his head.

Giving his new friend a smile, Vaughan put his hands into his pockets and followed after Pari. “ Um.. Thanks for showing me around, Pari.” He smiled again and licked his lips before ducking his head.

Pari gave Vaughan a shy smile and nodded, hesitantly reaching back and wrapping his arm around Vaughan's, moving to hug the other boys arm. He liked the contact, it made him feel better. He wasn't alone.

"Pari doesn't mind." At the top of the stairs, Pari pointed to one of the doors, "That is Jares room. Jares is nice. He's a vampire that likes fruit." The other room was empty, so Pari didn't bother with it. Down the small hallway was his room, which had a large and glittery sign with his name on it over the door. Not that he slept in it much, the small pixie tended to crawl into Jace's bed at night, sometimes Jares when the vampire was home.

"That one is Pari's!" Pari beamed at Vaughan, "And Vaughan's room is next to Pari's." The short pixie opened his room and wandered inside. Everything was brightly colored. And as much glitter as he had been able to smuggle in. But other then the vivid colors, it wasn't as girlish as people tended to expect from Pari. It looked rather normal, just dyed neon and sparkly.
