Physical Description
Bronze skinned, with dark hair and eyes, Nova's sharp features give her a rather intense look at first glance--a bit too intense to be filed as classically "pretty", but a word that's typically used to describe her is "striking". Her height probably adds to the impression, and she's learned to carry herself in such a way that she can take command of the space she occupies almost by her presence alone.

Or she can fold herself into the shadows, and you would never even remember she was there. It's quite an intriguing dichotomy.

On a semi-technicality, Nova is not classified as a cyborg; however, she has a cybernetic arm and leg on opposite sides of her body (the left arm and the right leg). She also has more than the average number of implants: a general port at her temple, a translator as part of a cochlear implant, and a military-grade chip behind her left eye that allows her to see the world in all sorts of nifty ways.

Personality
Nova was born in a lower-middle caste, and she learned quickly to be shrewd, calculating, and never show exactly what she was feeling. Her psychic abilites did not fully manifest themselves until she was nearly seventeen, so she doesn't quite have the same "raised to the military" air that some of her fellow pilot candidates do. She tends to be a little less formal, and a lot less zealous.

This is not to say that she's entirely unapproachable; she may be a little standoffish, but she's not an unpleasant or unreasonable person, just a cautious one.

Magic/Abilities
When Nova was fifteen, Mother augmented her natural, rather weak psychic abilities to both strengthen them and give her the added skill of telekinesis.

Beyond these abilities, she is trained in the manner of every other pilot candidate, and has gained the skills therein.

Relationships
Her parents, Aaron and Viki Erinsri, and her younger brother Andreas. All three were moved up through the caste system when she completed her initial training, and now live in the upper levels of the city. She loves them, but doesn't see them often, and can't really say they're particularly close anymore.

History
Nova was drafted as a Pilot Candidate on the later end of the scale, having just turned twenty. Growing up in a lower caste, she'd mostly used her psychic abilities to help keep food on the table--occasionally that meant doing something a little on the "gray" side of legal, so when the Pilot recruiters first tracked her down she was pretty convinced she was going to prison. Or worse.

But no. It turned out what she'd always thought of as a minor talent, an odd "quirk" or "hunch" now and then, was actually a fairly formidable psychic gift. Apparently she'd caught the eye of someone among the Powers That Be--she never found out who--and they had recommended her for Candidacy.

Training was brutal. Nova lost all function in her left arm from a training accident within her first year, and was grafted a cybernetic replacement to join the one that replaced most of her right leg (though that was from an accident working in her mother's mechanic shop as a younger girl--it just got updated once she became a Candidate).

Despite the hardship, she was grateful for the opportunity. She saw her family less and less as her duties became heavier, more time consuming, but she knew that they were safe and happy, and that was all that mattered.

She's had three different mentors over the course of her training, and she's convinced that that is at least partially the reason why it's taken her so long to advance through stages, and why she's been stuck at Stage Three for nearly three and a half years. There was nothing wrong with any of her previous mentors, she just...has always had a bit of an issue with authority.
