Remnants of the Earth

Here's the place where you can let loose and RP whatever you like (well, as long as it's with your own original characters of course) without it affecting your actual in-game plots. Anything goes, and whatever happens on this board stays on this board! Consider this a sort of AU (Alternate Universe) setting. Anything and everything is fair game here.

Wanna blow up TRIM and play out the consequences without actually destroying TRIM in-game? Do it here! Wanna explore hypothetical "what if" scenarios that may or may not happen in game? Do it here! Threads work the same way here as anywhere else on RotE. You may do open threads or closed threads, stuff like that. However, you can write your posts however you like. Personality
I'm not quite sure yet until I play her and get a feel for her. But I envision her as assertive with a rather take-charge personality. Cocky. Confident. Proud. Doesn't know when to back down; even when she's losing, she's the type that'll insist she can still win. She comes across as fearless and a bit of a daredevil, and she can also be quite ruthless. She has her own agenda and she'll stick to it, and her only loyalties lie with her own race. She has no qualms about making a promise so long as it suits her needs, and then breaking it later when it no longer does--if it's a promise made to someone outside her race, it's not really "valid". Hmm...again, she'll come to life when I actually play her.

Appearance
Kyori is humanoid in basic form, but there are, of course, a lot of differences. For one, her ears are long, thin, and stand straight up when alert. They are furred, but there are thicker tufts of fur at the tips. Her hair is turquoise green in color with a few random white stripes running through it. Her hair is kept cut short, wild, and rather spikey, though she does have some bangs that fall into her eyes and travel down the sides of her face. Her eyes are a pale pink color--or eye, rather. Her right eye is covered by a brown leather eyepatch...mainly to hide some rather hideous scarring and the fact that she has no right eye.

Her tail is long, slender, and prehensile, covered in thick turquoise fur. It's also a tufted tail, and the "tuft" takes up about a third of her tail from the tip of it, the hair there long and silky. She tends to keep it braided so it doesn't get in the way too much.

Her legs are long and built for speed and power, and instead of a human's feet she has paws and walks on her toes like a canine. The ankle bone is long and graceful, the paws rather large and built for walking through snow, and thick fur grows from below her knees down to her feet to protect them from the cold. Each foot has four toes and one dewclaw, and her claws are retractable, each one a good inch long when unsheathed. Her hands, humanoid in shape, also possess retractable claws which extend to about an inch long. Her teeth are also nice and sharp, large canines and all.

As for her skin...it's a sort of bronze color, save for a few patches of turquoise scales here and there. There's a patch on her brow, below her left eye, on her belly, and a few on her back and legs and arms.

Kyori stands at about 5'8". Muscular build, though not to the point of being bulky--she is built for speed as well as strength. Her hearing is excellent, though her eyesight is better in the dark than during the day. Her eyes are a bit sensitive to sunlight, and sudden bright lights can temporarilly blind her.

Abilities
Iannu are deadly predators not just because of their speed, strength, and claws and teeth, but because they pack two other tricks in their arsenal. All Iannu have a special gland under their tongue, separate from their saliva gland, which produces venom. Iannu are known to spit venom into the eyes of their victims, which produces an intense burning sensation and temporary blindness. They can spit up to ten feet. They may also coat weapons (including their claws) with their venom; it doesn't produce any paralyzing neurotoxins, but the added burning sensation can make even a scratch excruciating.

However, their venom can be used against them, so they have to be careful. Their own saliva neutralizes it, though.

Their second trump card is camouflage. The only magic the Iannu have is a sort of...cloaking magic. It enables them to blend in with their surroundings, their skin and fur changing color and pattern to match. It's not perfect; when they move, there is a slight delay in the magic as it shifts to match the background. Thus, if someone were looking, they'd be able to see the Iannu. Still, it's very effective, and it can be turned on and off as the Iannu pleases.

She was born on Ren'Unis...and...er...that's all I know yet.

Yup yup! Her species is what the Tuathi often refer to as "Others" or "Predators". Still fleshing out the species. Iannu are more technologically advanced than the Tuathi. Less magically powerful, but they make up for it as they're basically living weapons. A long time ago the Iannu and Tuathi got along and were even friends, but as the planet went through some cataclysmic changes and eventually sank into an ice age, they severed ties. Not originally out of spite or anything. but just because they became focused on their own survival. The Iannu hoarded a lot of the surviving technology and work extensively to create new things and revive old technology while the Tuathi became more earthy. The Tuathi were pretty much cut off from a lot of technology as the Iannu took it for themselves--and guarded it fiercely.

Not to mention the Tuathi became far more interested simply in surviving when other creatures whose main sources of food had died off started to prey on the Tuathi.

The Iannu eventually became one such predator when they started to run out of options.

Appearance:
Terra is humanoid in shape and form, about 5'6". Her skin is white; not the fair, peachy color of a light-skinned human, but a literal bleached white in color, unless you count the speckles and patches of black and ginger color that's splashed onto her in various places like paint. The calico pattern isn't too prominant on her skin, though she does have a ginger ring around her right eye with splashes of black at the outer corner, and there are some black and ginger speckles on her belly, left shoulder, and down her back. Her hair is white and falls down to mid-back, though the calico coloration and pattern continues there in larger patches, and it continues onto her ears as well, which are indeed a cat's ears. She also has a long, feline tail that's also calico colored.

Her eyes are a yellow-green in color with vertical, cat-like pupils, and she possesses sharp canines and equally sharp, retractable claws on her feet and hands. Her body is sleek and willowly more than voluptuous, though she still has a feminine figure--even if she tends to cover it up. Her usual clothes of choice are cargo pants and shirts with high collars, sometimes turtlenecks, though she'll also sometimes wear scarves. She doesn't like showing off her neck because of the nasty series of uneven scars on her throat. Basically, it looks like someone had tried multiple times to slit her throat but had horribly botched the job as the scars are far from clean. Which...well...is actually the truth.

As a result of the injury, she can't speak. Her larynx was badly damaged from the blunt trauma and then further damaged by the anesthetic that was later administered to her by the medics that saved her life.

Personality:

Terra is guarded, that much is certain, and she does have some trust issues. It's difficult to earn, and difficult to get back if broken. She does have issues from what happened to her, and even if some things make her skittish, she also doesn't live her life in fear nor does she let what happened rule her life. She's moving past it and healing, and she does what she can to help other people, contribute, and feel useful. She's a refugee in Teinar, but she's also a freedom fighter in a sense and finds working with the rebels there empowering, because she's doing something to get back at the people that nearly killed her while also helping other people who have fallen prey to all the wars.

On the whole she's gentle and rather patient (with other people), a good listener, though she can be severely judgmental as she relies a lot upon initial instincts and first impressions. She also has a tendency to hold grudges and not let go of things easily. She's not patient with herself; she can get easily frustrated, especially if she can't effectively communicate what she wants to get across.

On the whole she's friendly and optimistic for the most part. She has a purpose in Teinar, and that gives her hope, even if she has seen and experienced some nasty things.

"Come along now, Eve," Luka called over his shoulder to the blue-haired girl that was his mage. It was a rather nice day out and though he was off duty for the day, he still felt it'd be a good time to take his mage out for some fresh air. He figured she deserved it. She was a friendly mage even though she hadn't been born into servitude and she completed her tasks well. She didn't give him much of a hastle or much lip, and Luka was always a believer in giving rewards and priviledges where they were deserved and earned. Of course, he was also a believer in discipline where that was also deserved.

Mage or no mage, he liked to be fair. Fairness bred more effective and happy workers, after all, and he couldn't help but shake his head at those Mordecai who were a bit too unreasonably hard on their mages. It seemed irresponsible to him, though he also understood having a bad day. He wasn't without fault; he'd snapped at his own mages before out of anger. That was his own problem, though, and he tried to rein himself in because that certainly didn't reflect well upon himself. If he couldn't keep himself under control, how could he keep his mage in line? Control always began with the master, and if the master could not control himself, then that put the slave in control.

After a few minutes of walking, Luka paused beside a fountain and turned to regard his mage with a pleasant smile on his youthful face. "So, is there anywhere you wanna go today, Eve? I thought it'd just be nice to just get out, you must be going stir crazy. You eat yet?" he asked lightly, absently brushing some messy brown bangs out of his eyes. Some other Mordecai might think he was too lenient by giving her this much leeway, but he didn't care. His methods had worked so far, and he had didn't mind buying her a few things, either, if it would keep her happy. Besides, wasn't like he had anything else planned for today.

Because it was his day off, he wasn't in uniform and was instead dressed in a pair of casual, loose-fitting, dark blue jeans and a simple shirt, and he had allowed her to wear whatever she wanted, as well. Still, there would be no mistaking them for what they were--her silver headband, and his matching one, kind of gave them away.

Well...after a long time of not using AIM, I have now revived it! With a new screen name and everything.

Anyone wanna do a thread or two? :3 Both are up for separate threads! And I'm open to anything. They just, of course, have to at least start out in Aedolis and if they leave, they'd have to have a good reason. That's it!

I have decided that we probably need one or two. :3 And on RotE, it can be easy enough to implement one! There are already some plans in the future for a big plot involving TRIM, but in order for that to work we need more scientists/doctors and mage/psychic subjects! A lot more. So that won't be happening for a while. ^_^

Anyway! Back to the subject of big plots. Some possibilities to get things rollin' are:

Uno
An attack on Teinar or one of the outposts by beasts/mutants. Yay seiges! Especially by icky beasts. It would be a plot that would deal a lot with not only the fighting and whatnot, but with pure survival (survival horror genre? >:3], especially if Teinarians were taken off guard, lost equipment, and had to deal with the elements which, as we all know, are in and of themselves nasty because the air is toxic.

Dos
Teinar and the Cancer coordinate with the Gospels to get some people out of Aedolis. It could be fun and tricky, because everyone would have to be very sneaky. >:3 And there would be combat and espionage to appeal to all sorts of players, depending on your preference. It would be a more subtle plot, though, I imagine, and would probably focus heavily on politics and sneakiness. Which is always fun!

Tres
An attack on the Cancer or Libra, either by a new force or by, say, Aedolis or Edanith. Good ol' combat, spacecraft dogfights a-la Star Wars, you know the drill! Gotta defend the home-base!

Anyway! These are just some ideas I'm throwing out there, there are many more of course, feel free to suggest some or expand upon mine. ^_^ I've been observing and noticed a lot of people are joining more independent characters than characters that live in a specific country, and I'd really like to see all the locations interacting more with one another. The game really sets it up so that the interaction between areas is a big focus, so I think we should begin! I'd also love to see more characters that do live in specific countries/colonies. The Cancer is the most popular location thus far, so it's time to branch out a little! ^_~

All just suggestions, of course! Throwing out ideas and all that. What does everyone think?

And of course, for any of these ideas to really work well, we will need more characters from specific areas. Pilots, Mordecai, all that fun stuff! 8D

I think we did this in SotE ages ago, but...now I'm resurrecting it!

Okay! So the whole idea of this game is "be careful what you wish for." One person will make a wish, and it's the job of the next poster to grant that wish--but make it go horribly wrong--and then make a wish of their own. Then the next person corrupts their wish, makes another wish, and so on.

So for example, if I posted "I wish for a dog," the next person could post, "wish granted, but it has rabies and it bites you." Stuff like that!

So, let's begin, shall we?
