He wears his brown hair messy and shaggy and he usually dyes it whenever the inclination strikes. Used to have longer hair but recently cut it. Currently, he's dyed his longer bangs red while keeping the rest its natural color. His eyes are a golden brown in color, and he's pierced his left eyebrow and bottom lip. There is also a red tattoo near each eye, the right side designed to look like an animal clawed him while the left is simply a triangular red mark. He got those when he was young (12) and stupid (that hasn't changed) because he thought they made him look badass. When not in uniform, Shiloh usually sticks to skinny jeans and a t-shirt, though he often likes sporting the cargo-pants and boots look. PersonalityIf asked, Shiloh would claim he was a misanthrope--though it's not fully true. It's true that he's a paranoid individual and dislikes people in general (and even finds reasons to dislike people he might otherwise get along with), but it's mostly because he finds it difficult to trust others and is afraid of getting too close. Thus, he keeps other people at a distance because he doesn't trust them and thus doesn't let them in, and his signature way of shoving people out is by being an asshole. He's rude, crude, bitter, and snarky--and he knows he is, too. He has no delusions regarding his own behavior. He even has a history of being a bully, though the worst of it was during his candidate years where he took on a "get them before they get you" attitude--preemptive self-defense. He's since calmed down and has mostly just defaulted to verbal assaults over physical ones. Still, he is aggressive and prone to violence in the right circumstances with the right triggers. (Read: situations that he doesn't know how to fix with words.) Shiloh, to be blunt, is not very smart. He passed the classroom portion of the Pilot Candidate Program by the skin of his teeth, but it was hard work that got him through it, because what he lacks in intelligence he tries to make up with sheer determination. He's gullible, not at all book smart, many jokes and social nuances are completely lost on him, and spell check is his friend (though sometimes not even that can save him). Simply put: he's a fighter, not a thinker. Surrounded by intelligent people, Shiloh is painfully aware of his own inadequacies and it's a huge source of insecurity for him--which he displays through defensiveness and hostility. He doesn't take teasing well; most of the time, he doesn't understand it, and even good-natured teasing can be perceived as a jab at his intelligence. For all that Shiloh is a hostile asshole on the outside, he's very sensitive at the heart of it all; he takes things personally and is painfully insecure. He can't always differentiate the teasing comments from the serious ones, and either way, they hit a little too close to home. In fact, he tends to lash out at other people about issues he's insecure about himself. Shiloh cares about what other people think about him, even if he hides that under a devil-may-care facade. All this isn't to say he doesn't have friends. He has a couple, and to those people who manage to worm their way in, he's loyal and even sweet. In his own way. He would do anything for them and would willingly die for them--because, frankly, he values them over himself. Truly, it's not that difficult to befriend Shiloh because for all that he pushes people away and claims he hates people, he is desperately lonely. Treat him well, don't baby or patronize or talk down to him, talk to him like an adult, and he'll be a loyal friend that will go down fighting for you. It can take time to gain his trust, because he is paranoid (and sometimes perceives random acts of kindness as having a hidden motive, for example), but with persistence and time it's possible to break down those barriers. This also isn't to say he can't work in a team, because he can. He's been through the Pilot training and he doesn't have to like his team-mates to work with them to get the job done. Similarly, for all that Shiloh is hostile, he's highly respectful of authority and chain-of-command. Part of it is thanks to his paranoia--hell no he's not gonna piss off someone ranked higher than him! The people he lashes out at tend to be those who are lower on the social ladder than him--and thus less capable of fighting back. Power Pyrokinesis and cryokinesis, average telepathy. He's a taaank of a fighter. DragonShiloh belongs to an older female dragon named Amaranth. RelationshipsBest friends with Finaa and Rhys. Hates pretty much everyone else. HistoryShiloh grew up in the Lower Caste in a particularly rough neighborhood. He never knew his father and his mother, though she loved him, spent most of her time in front of a TV, strung up on drugs, or entertaining the men that were always coming in and out of their home. She was there for him when she could be, but she was a product of the Lower Caste system and a classic addict. The drugs were number one in her life. With no real outlet, Shiloh fell in with a rag-tag street gang at a young age, most of them young kids like himself. He took care of his mother as best as he could and spent the rest of his time living a life of petty crime and delinquency. When he was fourteen, he was dragged into the Pilot Candidate program. He had always been on the watch list, as his uncle on his father's side was a Pilot, but Shiloh never cared to find out who that was. As they'd never been part of his life, they weren't family, so he just wasn't interested in knowing. The program was hard on Shiloh, not because he didn't have the drive, but because he didn't have the education. He was illiterate, and so the classroom portions were where he struggled, and it was that area that slowed him down. He excelled at the physical portions and, for all his aggression and hostility toward other candidates, he was excellent at following orders. Frankly, he was too frightened of the Pilots, the system, and TRIM to have an insubordinate bone in his body. They said jump, he asked how high. Candidacy Chart- Stage 1: Age 14

Yep yep! Aedolis has had its information all updated! The biggest update lies in the cultural information. Namely, in the way Haviah is built. :3 There was also a slight change made in the candidate section: Pilots cannot harshly discipline other Pilots' candidates except in the case of outright insubordination. There was also a note made about flesh and blood dragons in the section about dragons: normal flesh dragons are very, very rare if they even still exist on Earth at all. When discovered by Aedolian dragons, they are indeed assimilated. Yep, that's about it for now! More updates are on the way, though!

A few people have had login problems, but don't fret! There is a solution! If you login to the site and then suddenly find that once you click anywhere after logging in you're suddenly logged out, well, here is the solution for you: - Clear your browser's cookies. In Internet Explorer, you can do this by going into Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History > Delete.
- Once your cookies are cleared, close your browser and then boot it back up.
- Login.
- Voila! The login issue should be fixed! 8D
Hope this helps! Shizzy Edit: For Firefox Users just press Ctrl+Shift+Del and it'll bring a pop up box allowing you to clear the chosen items like cookies, the save cache, etc.

Something was beeping, a persistant sound evenly spaced apart, and it was really starting to get on his nerves. It was worse because it was predictable so he'd start to anticipate the next beep, and that made it all the more annoying. Stupid thing. What the hell was it, anyway? He'd open his eyes to look if keeping his eyes shut didn't feel so good, and right now it felt as though it would be a huge and exhausting effort to do that much. His head felt fuzzy, thoughts filtering down to him through a thick mess of...something. Grogginess. Yeah, that.
He was fine with that. Right now it felt like he could sleep forever, and if it weren't for the beeping and an uncomfortable, growing ache in his legs like growing pains he might have been able to do just that. But since neither the ache nor the beep showed any signs of going away, he finally just groaned in irritation and cracked his gray eyes open, blinking against the white, blinding light that overwhelmed his vision.
Val's head swam, still only half awake, so he just waited patiently for his eyes to adjust, blinking and staring up at the equally white ceiling and avoiding the flourescent white celing lights. White, white, white. Why the hell was everything white? His eyes should have adjusted by now and this was a little creepy, like something out of one of those corny alien movies where an abductee wakes up in some lab, about to be probed. Ech. Not that he watched trash like that but seriously, where the hell was he? In a bed, obviously; he could feel a squishy pillow under his head and when he looked down he saw a blanket covering him, which his hands were tightly gripping. More white.
Where the hell...?
Truth be told, he was kind of dreading what he'd see if he turned his head and looked around the actual room, but he could hear someone moving around doing something in there, and the need to know outweighed the nervousness so he finally peeled his eyes away from the ceiling and the blankets and actually looked.
A hospital room. It was unmistakeable. Equipment was set up around the bed, a door was off to the side with the universal symbol on it to show it was a bathroom for both sexes, and there was a ugly blue curtain around his bed, half drawn. Hospital. Why...why the hell was he in a hospital...?
The ache in his legs was starting to bother him more, not because it was actually growing worse but because something was starting to tug at his groggy, drugged mind, something familiar, something his mind didn't want to remember but his body already did. His hands tightened on the blanket, sweat beading on his palms, pulse beating at his temples. His legs hurt. Why did his legs hurt? Val tried to move his right leg but it wouldn't budge, didn't want to cooperate for some reason, and the effort only made it throb more. He tried his left with the same result and, starting to feel panicky, struggled to sit up. The world swayed, no doubt an effect of the anesthetic, and he had to grip both sides of the bed and close his eyes to wait for it to pass and feel grounded again.
His legs...why couldn't he move them? Memories started to flicker across his mind but his brain quickly shut them out, not wanting to accept them as truth, and with shaking hands he fumbled at the blanket, opened his eyes again. Oh gods, oh gods...no...that wasn't real. That hadn't happened. That was a nightmare...
He pulled back the blanket and screamed.

Physical Description
Kestrel isn't a tall guy. He's built petite and thin at around 5'6" with black hair and yellow-gold eyes. His skin tone is somewhere between tan and fair, and he has two black bands of color marking his face, one coming down from just under both eyes and stopping at his jaw, and another coming down from his temples by his eyebrows and also going down to his jaw. If he were to pull his hair up in the back, one would also notice that there is a black spot at both sides of his neck at the nape.
A pair of sleek, narrow wings grow from his back. The tops are blue-gray with a black and white patterning that becomes more prominent toward the flight feathers, which are black. The undersides of the wings are white with black barring.

Meanwhile, 10 has kidnapped 8 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 4, they seek out 2, who gives them what they need to complete their quest.
