Thankfully, Aspen appeared to be feeling a little better, which was a huge relief to Vanessa. It was in her best interest to make sure that everyone was feeling comfortable, partly because she simply wanted everyone to be happy, and also because anything that the other candidates felt would eventually start affecting her. Plus, using her abilities to put other people in a better mood was good practice for her. Empathy wasn't exactly something you could practice by yourself, so taking this chance to work on it was probably a good idea.

That being said, she was definitely going to try to have fun at this party, too. Not much point in showing up to a party if you weren't going to... well, party. So, when Aspen invited her to go and grab some pizza, Vanessa happily went along with her. For a few moments, she just kinda stared at the pizza and took it all in- the sight, the smell, everything. Real pizza. It was like something out of a dream, and she half expected to wake up from it at any moment, but nope. Pizza was still there.

The presence of a towering being snapped her out of her thoughts, and she nearly let out a squeak as she took in the full size of the person who was now standing next to her. Garza. Gods, this guy could probably lift her with one hand without breaking a sweat. The sheer size of him was honestly a little scary, but as far as she could tell, he had no intention of hurting her. No reason to get freaked out, then.

"Oh! Uh, hey there! Sorry, I'll be outta your way in a second. After all, I couldn't possibly deny someone pizza, especially if it's calling to them. Yeah."

With that, she quickly turned around and grabbed a slice before slipping out from the gathering crowd. She really didn't want to get squished in there, which was certainly a possibility when most of the people present were more than capable of plowing straight through her. Afterwards, she went to take a seat in one of the front chairs- probably wouldn't be able to see a damn thing in the back- and promptly turned around to check on the person behind her, resting her arms on the back of the chair. Candidate Matthew Wright. She couldn't really tell for sure, but he seemed to be feeling a little down.

"Heya, Matt. Is something the matter? You're looking a little... bummed out."
