Haviah Harpies - Hard Corps

The Haviah Harpies
Combat Specialist Pilot Squadron

...So it's been, and shall be weighed: though many are born, few are "made".
Faithful Always, they shall remain dogs to loose when war is waged.

I. About the Harpies

The Haviah Harpies are a specialist combat-oriented Pilot group. During the war they acted as shock-troops, hitting the enemy hard and fast to devastating effect. Presently, with the treaties in place, they typically run missions that require the heavy application of muscle, or otherwise are tapped for one or more members to act as seconds for more important missions where there is a higher chance of danger.

The Harpies are, at their core, a team. As such, any Pilot looking to join their ranks must be capable of working in sync with others, as well as having exceeded expectations during their combat/weapons training.

IV.Squad Roles
These are specific sub-roles that are fulfilled by specific members of the squadron to form the full unit. The basic structure is that of a ten man squadron, headed by the two commanding officers, the Squadron Commander and Squadron Leader. This particular role structure differs wildly from team to team, based on that particular team's specific modus operandi (ie. a stealth based team will have far more supporting/stealth based operatives versus heavy weapons experts).

For the Harpies, there are two "teams"!

The Aerial Team, which stays mounted on their dragons at all times barring extenuating circumstances:

  • Commander: Isabel Kiers
  • Communications: Liselotte Hestersen
  • Technician: open!
  • Ranged (Weapons Specialist/Crowd Control): Rodion Voronin
  • Ranged (Weapons Specialist/Crowd Control): Lladre Opielar
  • Ranged (Heavy Weapons/Explosives Expert): open!
  • Ranged (Heavy Weapons/Explosives Expert): open!
The Drop Team, who will disengage from their dragons via specialised jump-packs, and decimate ground forces while their dragons continue an aerial assault:
  • Squad Leader (Close-Range Heavy Assault): Chance Kiers
  • Close-Range Heavy Assault: Kanani Makana
  • Medium-range assault: Cinnamon Rook
  • Medium-range assault (Heavy Weapons): Vander Huxley
  • Medic: Royal Bloom
If you have any questions as to what each specific role "means", drop me a PM or ask here and I'll go into more detail!

V. General History

The squadron has existed in an unofficial capacity for some time now, but found itself a reputation during the worst of the Edani war. Specializing in working together to hit the enemy hard and out of nowhere, the group earned the nickname "Harpies of Haviah"; calling on the fact that they came screaming out of the wind and disappeared into nothing in much the same way, bringing vengeance upon their foes.

The current international climate and peace treaties don't leave the Harpies with very much to do. They spend their time running drills and practicing, acting as escorts for high-level missions, or guards if needs necessitate. They are also called upon as "guest lecturers", assisting in combat-oriented training in the ATC when requested. Every now and then Weapons R&D has them field-test whatever latest horror-story they've concocted up.
