Ghost in the System [M] (Cheesi)

If finding Carter Huxley was anything less than a pain in the ass, Luca Aario wanted nothing to do with it. Finding hacker like Huxley on a space station like Libra was a rare opportunity to finally get out of the city. That's the way Luca saw it. The shuttle pulled into the station with no hiccups, thankfully, and while he loved Aedolis, it was always nice to take a vacation.

Luca was just well-known enough have the right people recognize him as the right one for the job. The task was simple, find Huxley, detain him, and bring him back to Aedolis. In truth, Luca didn't care what he did or why he wanted, but the price was right and his expenses would be paid in full. Routine job, that promised a sizeable increase to his bank account.

Libra was probably the last place he'd want to find himself. The man could adapt, and he'd do whatever he had to to drag Huxley out of whatever dark corner he was hiding in. The son of a bitch wouldn't even know what hit him. His last coordinates indicated some warehouse in the commercial district, possibly rooted out of some vain attempt that no one would bother looking for him there, maybe hiding as some lowly IT support chump.  It wouldn't be a bad disguise, it just wasn't a good one.

“You bring him back by the weekend, and I'll send you a bonus,” his contractor blurted over the com. It was an encrypted line. Luca wasn't any hacker by any means, but he knew how to keep his business from prying eyes. The messages were scrambled and each unique code was nearly untraceable.  And in the event it was traced, it would spell out nothing more than muddled garbage, making no sense.

“You ready to have that in writing?” Luca laughed.  Of course, Victoria wasn't going to go back on her word if in fact he did bring his target in early. But it never hurt to tease the CEO of Nexagen Corporate.  Just another faceless entity within the mesmerizing backdrop of sex and advertising.   She laughed and closed the line.

Luca left his hotel room with confidence in tow. The way to the commercial district was faster by shuttle, and he found himself before the warehouse in question. Dank, depressing and as dilapidated as he imagined. Really?  An abandoned warehouse, this couldn't be more cliché. Luca hid in dark, a fine beige suit, suspenders and new boots. He didn't exactly stand out as much as this building did. He was surprised it wasn't quickly repurposed yet in a locale like Libra.

He pulled off his sunglasses once, the heat read off the building from the UV application was telling. Even techies couldn't keep their hands clean forever. A cat's sinister sneer over took him as he ventured forth. It was easy to find his way inside, and he could manage a climb, even in a dusky damp stairwell that hadn't been cleaned in years. Water dripped somewhere off in the distance, a leaky pipe. Putting his sunglasses back on, Luca switched the light settings to a high contrast, making everything green as he approached the heat signals on another reader on his palm. He may have liked finer things, but he was never without his tech where it would prove useful.

He stepped quietly, climbing another flight to the third level where he found a series of over turned desks, workman's clear tarp, and panels of the ceiling that had fallen down. Old computers were collecting dust on a few of the desks. And it was there that he saw Vander Huxley, sleeping under a desk on a ripped sleeping mat.  Yup, the picture matched the bastard's snake-like greasy form.

A kick to his side woke him up right quick and Huxley twitched, stirring and quickly panicking and trying to scramble for the gun that had been tucked under his pillow.  Luca's foot pressed at his wrist and he tsked with his tongue.  “I wouldn't do that, if I were you. I came here with the best of intentions, Huxley. I came to take you back to Aedolis.  Now don't make a fuss and it will be a lot less painful for the both of us, mmkay, pumpkin?” he mumured and knelt down to pull the gun away from him.  He examined the piece.  “.22 caliber. Nice.  Small, concealable. I'll take that as collateral. Luca tucked it into his back pants. He wasn't much of a guns person, but it could prove useful on occasion.

“H-how!?  I-I left no.....fff-f-fucking trace!”

“Those really, are moot questions.  Now come on, dear. We have a shuttle to catch.”  Luca clapped his hands.  “Up, up!”

“Do you even know why you're doing this?  You don't even know who I am!  Just let me go, leave me alone.  I promise I'll go away and you'll never hear from me again.”  Vander shuddered, trying to keep his nerves in check.  Boy did he wish he bought something else too along with that gun...  Except he did....  But the taser was in his backpack.

“Huxley, look, you're making my patience wear very thin, darling. I want to help you, not hurt you. I know you're a hacker, you made a neat little ICEbreaker program that has interested a lot of people. And I know that if I let you go, someone else is just going to find you.”  Luca tilted his head and pulled gloves out of his coat pocket. Just in case there was a struggle. “So really, you have only now until the count of ten...nine....eight ...”

And the count of drips in the back of his head was quietly interrupted. That leaky pipe didn't let up, but when a droplet didn't hit the ground, Luca knew he was no longer alone. And he turned around swiftly to duck below a hail of rifle fire!

Hound's sharp eyes flashed as the light hit them in just the right way before she leaned in to look through her scope after finishing setting up her rifle. She always kept her jobs simple, and to what she was best at: killing. Capture missions were definitely not her thing, and she was more than happy to get paid for putting a bullet in someone's head.

She let out a soft sigh as she paid close attention to the heat signatures in the building; there were already other people converging on the same location, it was a race to see who would get the hacker Vander Huxley first. She searched the heat signatures with her scope, squinting through it and grinning when she found a form curled up and alone in the center of the shitty warehouse, visible through the window. Bingo. She had such a good sense for these things; and just as she was about to pull the trigger another person entered the room and she hissed under breath, "Shit!"

All she could do was wait patiently for the moment that person #2's form stepped aside and she had a clear shot; but he sure was doing a good job of hovering. She had to time this perfectly otherwise she'd lose her chance; if she could do this quickly and cleanly then she would, all too happily.

Other people were closing on the scene, and the second figure whipped around; she took her shot, snarling as she realized she missed; Huxley screamed like a little girl as a bullet shattered the glass of a nearby window, the shot missing his leg by an inch.

She snarled as too many bodies started appearing at once; she sniped a few as they entered her range, and while it was satisfying to watch them flail and fall to the ground like excitable sacks of potatoes, it was now impossible to tell which of them was Huxley. Which meant she was gonna have to get her hands dirty with this one, damn. She abruptly pulled back, pulling a few triggers and switches on her rifle as it started to transform into something much smaller she could sling into a holster across her back. She grabbed her long white vest and threw it on over her black leather catsuit as she darted out the room of the neighboring building she'd set herself up in, finding the stairway and skipping steps as she busted down the door and got onto the roof.

The distance between the two buildings wasn't too far, and the warehouse's roof was slightly lower. She only took a split second to judge the distance before she backed up to the other side and got a running start, the wind whipping in her ears before she flattened them against her head and jumped. It was a good fifteen foot fall, and she landed on the metal roof with a heavy clatter as she tucked and rolled, grabbing onto the edge of the roof as she rolled backwards off of it, straightening her legs as she kicked in another glass window with her heels and used the propulsion of her fall and gravity to swing herself inside.

She landed on her feet in a crouching position, her legs singing with pain from the impacts but what did she care? She instantly stood up straight and jumped on the nearest guy who wasn't her target.

If there was one way to describe how Hound fought, it was acrobatic. Every movement was deadly and with purpose--a swift hit with the butt of one of her favorite pistols to the side of a man's skull would then turn into a twisting turn as she performed a high kick and caught another guy in the chest, shooting him at point-blank with the gun on her heel. The momentum from the movement would propel her into another spin as she jumped and shot three more guys mid-air, landing on her feet every time in a mesmerizing dance that sent the other hunters and assassins scurrying back in surprise, confusion and fear. She left no one behind of course; one managed to shoot her in the leg but it went largely ignored as she pulled another man's sword from his hands and spun it, slicing the guy who shot her and giving him a nice view of his own guts as they started spilling out onto the floor.

She mowed through them as quickly as she could, allthewhile looking around for the hacker--and there she spotted him, with some guy with blonde hair and purple eyes, and they were fucking getting away! Not easily of course--there were men already after them and she certainly wouldn't be able to get to them quick enough when she still had so many other assassins she was fighting. One clocked her in the jaw and caught her by surprise in the moment she allowed herself to be distracted by her target; he knocked her to the ground and she laughed, spitting blood from her mouth as she kicked him off and shot him, jumping back to her feet as she darted after her prey with a positively wolfish grin on her face.

Getting her hands dirty was so much more of a pain in the ass but gosh it sure was fun.

The rifle fire struck the outer edges of a metal desk and Luca hunkered down with Huxley. Their enemies poured in by the dozens and with their sheer numbers, it was impossible to tell where they were and how to maneuver around them without exposing his head to their bullets. And Luca very much liked not having his head shot off. No, no, this wouldn't do by a long shot.

And the sounds of bullets all muddled together into one, and he only vaguely noticed the shattered glass behind Huxley and the bullet hole that was embedded into the ground. For fuck's sake. The were getting closer and when a pair approached, Luca stayed low and shoved a desk forward, knocking them back and quickly throwing his legs over the metal, ass sliding across and landing on top of them to swiftly break their necks.

He turned and took a rifle, raining bullets into a swarm of them that came through the left hallway, until the clip was empty and clicked off. One down.  He snatched the other rifle, raised it to fire only to narrowly dodge bullets that burned off his hair.  The fuck were these guys thinking!  They were luckly they didn't hit his face!

Luca stayed low and shot those bullets down below, taking out their ankles until a leg popped off a man screamed, dropping and tending to his leg.  All the while, Huxley snatched his backpack, crawling for his life to Luca's side.  If there was anything that was going to save it at this time, it was this guy. He was the the only one not aiming a gun at him right now.

“They're going to the right!  Cut 'em off!” someone screamed.

Five moved fast, one of them already out of rounds and reached for his knife instead. Luca filled two with what remained in the clip in hand and threw the rifle forward, slamming it into one man's face, knocking his helmet off and as it rolled to the ground, Luca snatched his body and used him as a human shield. “Go!” he cried out and Vander shuffled off, just as someone else was joining the party.

He slammed a fist into another's neck and he twisted the other's knife into his own chest after a slash across his shirt.  This was his favorite fucking jacket too!

What in the actual fuck. He only stayed watching for a few seconds, pulling that knife out and taking whatever clips he found on the dead men.  She killed fast that was for fucking sure.  And her ass wasn't hurting anything either. Damn, it was too bad he couldn't stay longer to appreciate it.  But sooner than later he dashed for the stairs off to the right side and followed Huxley.

Some of the others ignored the newcomer, instead going after their target. Luca was just collateral damage.  And fuck if he wasn't making that total go higher and higher.

Luca ran down the other way, the second floor much like the third, only with slightly less blood. Swarms were coming soon, black armored and with even more guns.  It was good thing Luca picked up those extra bullets.  He tucked the knife into his belt and reloaded his rifle.  He wasn't about to give Huxley a weapon.  All he needed was for that sack of shit to stay put and wait until the way was clear.

Luca smacked Huxley hard on the neck, knocking him out and dragging the poor bastard along with the backpack he'd adjusted on his shoulders, pulling him over to a desk and dropping it over him. The metal would provide enough cover, and as their assailants came into view, it was Luca that was the first to fire.

With her eyes on the prize, Hound was right after them as Purple Eyes and the hacker went down a flight of stairs. She was only several moments behind them, but those seconds added up and all of them counted, because there were plenty of others ahead of her, and more pouring in by the second she was sure. What a ride, how all of them found this hacker in the same place at the same time. Funny, how things worked out like that.

A man grabbed her from behind and she reached back and yanked him forward with a roaring battle cry, hurling him down the stairs and shooting him, then turning and getting a few others. The perks of having four guns was that she had to reload a lot less, which was also why it was so important to her that all of her shots were kill shots. That being said, she couldn't avoid it forever, and she darted down the stairs and jumped around a corner as she dropped the empty clips and reloaded with the fresh ones conveniently strapped to the belt on her hips for just such occasions. It only took her a matter of seconds and she was back out into the fray.

After she'd dropped the last guy in a group of five she ran to where she heard gunfire, and saw a bunch of men crowded around a doorway to a room like a bunch of pigs trying to get through the farm gate at dinner time. It was kind of amusing to watch and she admired it for a moment, as someone inside, presumably Purple Eyes, shot them as they forced their way through the door. She held up one pistol and shot the ones that remained outside, getting them in either their heads or their necks.

With the doorway cleared she approached, heels clicking formidably on the concrete; their echoes cut short by the sounds of men yelling and more gunfire in other parts of the warehouse. She wouldn't get long; she flattened herself against the wall and peaked just around the edge of the door frame, her sense of smell picking up Huxley and presumably Purple Eyes with him. Utterly annoying. There were already men running down the stairs, she didn't have time to play games with this guy like she might've wanted to.

With incredibly fast reflexes she leaned around the door frame and opened fire on where she'd seen Purple Eyes, quickly taking cover again after firing a few rounds.

Luca figured it out. It wasn't hard. If he had found Huxley this easily, there was no doubt others followed the same trail.  Or fuck, maybe they followed him. Either way this was bad, and the chances of them getting out alive were getting slimmer and slimmer. The doorway would funnel them into a killzone, but Luca only had so many bullets, and he couldn't afford to waste any of them.  Spare clips were there, but far away, and he'd have expose himself to get more.

Huxley, you piece of garbage, he thought, You better be worth it..  Because ten minutes into the job and already he'd been shot at, his jacket cut with a knife, and he wasn't about to let his quarry go so easily. Luckily the man wasn't very heavy. His gaunt features and skinny arms made him easy to drag around. Even with the added weight of the pack on him.

There was a temporary pause in the gunfire as Luca crouched behind the overturned desk. His ears rung with the screech of bullet fire. Even his breathing felt loud, and already he was sweating through his shirt. “Fuck,” he cursed and turned his back to the desk when another set of bullets rang out.

But it wasn't rifle fire.  Who the hell was that!?  Oh it was Bouncy Bum running into the room.  What the fuck did she want!  If it was anything to do with Huxley, she better just drop dead right now, that was for sure.  Luca looked up only briefly as more men came pouring into the second level offices.

Luca snatched Huxley by the collar, and pushed against the leg of the overturned desk, running and shoving with all the strength he could muster to make it to the next exit on the opposite end of the hallway.  The metal scraped and sparked against the concrete. Adrenaline gave him all that he required to get them to the other side, although he scuffed his shoes in the process.

“Huxley is mine, bitch,” he shouted, although it seemed counterproductive in hindsight.  “Get your own hacker!”  And when he saw her exposed side at an angle he pulled the .22 from his belt and fired at her.  Just then the others were joining the party.

She dodged the bullet he fired at her and grit her teeth as the other hunters all came pouring in by the dozen; fuck just how much was this Huxley guy worth? It was a free-for-all up in here, what a pain in the ass!

She snarled before she laughed at Purple Eyes' comment, running after him after firing a few shots into the oncoming men, barely dodging a few bullets herself.

"Yeah, yours for now until I kill you, and then I'll kill him too!" She called back to him, right before another merc; he literally ran into her and he immediately drew his knife; she caught his wrist and bent it, grabbing onto it with her other hand and breaking his arm over his knee as he let out a scream of pain; she shot him in the nuts and then again in the gut as she went after the guy who had her target.

"Whole lotta good it's doing you dragging him around like a sack of potatoes!" She yelled around her gunfire, focused on the other guys pouring in as she realized she needed cover; well, this would either go really well or really bad. She sincerely doubted he had silver bullets in any of those guns she suspected he'd pilfered, so she took a chance and sprinted, jumping over the desk the guy was using as a shield and crouching behind it.

"What a fantastic situation you've gotten yourself in--why don't you let a real merc do this next time, huh? I can at least carry a pipsqueak hacker!" She sneered as she kept her focus on the men pouring in around them; it wouldn't do her any good if she killed this hacker here and now, she needed to get him out of here with her so she could at least bring his head back or something. If she was going to complete this mission now she wanted to do it in style, dammit, and beheading a guy was definitely stylish. And if this guy, bodyguard or whatever, decided to start shooting at her then big fucking deal--she'd stick the muzzle of her pistol in his mouth and tell him to suck it, regular bullets hurt like a bitch sure but they didn't do shit. She wasn't afraid of them, or him.

Though she had to admit upon closer inspection he was kinda good looking.

What!? Did she just imply that he was weak and was unable to carry his target!  He could stick her with a needle and have her soiling herself on the floor if he even remembered the band of pins around his wrist. Luca scowled at this beastly woman.  But fuck if she couldn't fight. And right now he was running out of options. A momentary frown later and he snarled into something that looked like a smile.

Because this was the perfect time to be smiling.  He just couldn't help himself then and there, admiring her cleavage and general badassery.  But mostly the cleavage. The metal desk rang out behind him with bullets smacking against it and he scootched up to wave the rifle over the top and sprayed out three others that poured in from the bottom this time.

The swarm wasn't going to stop any time soon and when Luca heard and felt the last click of the last bullet fired from the gun, he launched it at another goon, knocking him down. He exposed himself for only a second as two others made their way over to the desk and pulled Luca up from the side.  The remembered the knife in his belt, snatching the combat blade and sticking it once into a neck, then against into a chest, twisting and kicking the man off.

“If you're going to carry him, do it!  I'll cover you!”  And held the dead body of one of them, and took the rifle still in his hands, mowing down six others that crowded the entrance way.  When the way was momentarily clear, Luca pulled a belt of grenades from the corpse shield and bounded after them. A stray bullet grazed him and he winced, feeling the burn.

“You fucks!  This is suede!” he hissed and kept going. A quick pull from a pin and he tossed it back the way they came.

He lunged ahead of Gunmetal Heels and held onto both sides of the railing, kicking both legs up and out and hitting two of them in the chest. Luca landed with a roll and nutpunched a third that was in front, using make short work of him with the knife in hand.  The man on the left recovered and came after him with his own blade, the edge of which tattered the his back. Luca screamed, falling forward and rolling in time to avoid being stabbed. Kicking in a knee, he dropped the one bearing the knife and got to his knees, turning his own blade underhand and stabbing him once in each thigh, then again in the gut.

Sweat made everything cling to him, and his wounds stung even worse. The most he could do however was to avoid getting blood in his eyes.

He snatched his felled opponent's knife and throwing it at another, square into his head.

Huxley groaned on Hound's shoulder, stirring somewhat at the feel of being carried. Well, having him out was better than having him wetting himself in fear.

Then the grenade went off from upstairs, blowing dust out and cracking the concrete behind them.  “Fuck, they just don't quit do they.”

Luca pulled another grenade from the stolen belt, ripping the pin with his teeth and throwing it out to the other doorway.  A few seconds, a blast, then a scream.  And  that's when Huxley woke up, and stuck his taser into Hound's neck, slipping from her grasp long enough to throw himself out of a first floor window.

The moment Luca offered to cover her she didn't hesitate; scooping up Huxley, she threw him over her shoulder in a fireman's carry, surprisingly strong for so lithe a woman, and as Purple Eyes went to town on the other hunters, she focused all her efforts on making sure she didn't get shot up too bad.

"Oh get over the clothes, boy, we've got problems!" She yelled at him with a grin as she dove for some cover behind another desk while her temporary accomplice took out another throng of men; she watched for a moment, and licked her lips, canines showing as she grinned. Well, okay so maybe he wasn't completely useless. He looked good when he was in action.

She didn't let herself get distracted for long though, using Blonde Boy to her full advantage as she ran--if they could get out of this building that would just be grand, but they definitely weren't going to have an easy time of it. She heard her companion's scream but didn't bother taking the time to look over her shoulder and see how he was faring; it was kill or be killed and she definitely wasn't feeling like it was her time to test the latter today.

An explosion went off upstairs and made the floor shake; Hound did a good job keeping her balance and managing to not falter--that was, until she felt a white-hot sensation against her neck and she let out a scream, the electric shock that seized her body causing her legs to buckle as she went down on the floor, muscles numb and twitching as Huxley threw himself out of a window.

Oh. Oh fuck no.

Now she was mad.

"YOU LITTLE FUCKING SACK OF SHIT I'LL SKIN YOU ALIVE--" She started to roar, and there was just something about the savage tone in her voice, the wild fury in her eyes and the posture of her body as she forced herself to her feet that suggested she really, really meant it, and would definitely follow through on it.

But unfortunately before she could give immediate chase, another merc threw himself at her; his bullet caught her shoulder and he slammed into her. She let him take her to the floor, using the momentum to throw them into a roll as she straddled him and shoved one of her pistols in his face, firing and then focusing on the others starting to surround them. Her livid anger knew no bounds, and none of these men would be seeing any mercy from her now that that little jackass had gotten away.

The calm and collected grace of her lethal dance she'd displayed before was twisted now; she used more hand-to-hand combat than her guns, partially to conserve ammo, but mostly because she was fucking pissed. She held no hesitation in holstering her pistols and grabbing one man by the neck, forcing her hands into his mouth and literally ripping his jaw off of its hinges and tossing him like a rag doll while another came up behind her. She whipped around and delivered a swift kick to his side, shooting another man directly behind him with the gun on her heel before she jumped and did another spinning kick onto another, launching herself at a fourth and tackling him to the floor as she punched his fucking lights out, grabbed his assault rifle and shot up another good handful as they ran at her and Luca from god knows where.

Her breaths were heavy and her skin was coated in a light sheen of sweat as she lowered the gun for a brief moment in the sudden quietness of the area; she reached up with a hand and threw her hair back out of her face, throwing her head back in the movement and somehow managing to pull it off better than an over-edited hair dye commercial.

She tossed the now empty assault rifle to the floor, stepping over the bodies with a natural sway in her hips as she looked out the broken window; Huxley was nowhere in sight, but her nose would definitely be able to pick up his scent if she was fast enough.

Luca pried off his jacket to save whatever tattered remains were left of it.  Such as it was. Damn and if that wasn't his favorite one too. Obviously casual clothing was probably better suited for going around and shooting up empty warehouse buildings. As ever, Luca was dressed to kill. But he could just kiss this outfit goodbye.

Which he promptly did when he slammed his jacket onto the floor and rolled up his sleeves. He would let whatever maelstrom that gravitated toward that beastly woman to remain intact as she ripped apart an entire squadron of men.  He rolled his shoulders and his neck and struck fists with the first hunter that came his way, kicking his legs out from underneath him and raising a leg to crush his heel into his neck. New boots came in hand in a time like this.

Breaking some eggs was a great way to break them in. Luca braced himself for a forthcoming tackle, and wrapped his arms around the other's neck, pulling upward and hearing a crack.  He screamed and pulled it up again, throwing him off and launching the other knife into another's chest.  Luca could feel the stinging wound along his back begin to throb and his shirt gave way, ripping up to the collar.

Nothing could be saved!  It was hopeless.

Luca took the tattered shirt off him and instead used it as a weapon, maneuvering out of a dagger's path and wrapping the cloth around his wrists, twisting and turning the joint of his shoulder inside out with a pop.  A kick to the nuts, the ribs and he was down.  And Luca was on him, slamming his head hard into the ground until noodles came out.

Then it was over and he looked up to his temporary ally.  That threat, and everything in her stance made it true.  But damn if she didn't look fine doing it, her hair down draped back and ragged, out of her face.  His fingers felt over a pin and he shifted over to her quietly before ramming his body into hers and pressing the pin into a semi-paralyzing point in her collarbone to keep her still.  Or so he was betting on.  Already the rage was burning in her eyes, and she made short work of that group of hunters, guns and all.

“You're not killing him!” he growled.  “Huxley is worth more alive than dead.  And like I said before. He's mine!”

In the moment she had been about to haul herself out that window to go after him, she was unexpectedly interrupted by a weight suddenly against her and a sharp pain in her neck. Before she knew it she was on the ground and Sir Shirtless was now on top of her, growling about how Huxley was his.

She let out a harsh laugh.

"Well he's not either of ours, now. Little shit's long gone," She hissed, finding herself incapable of moving.

Her gaze flickered down to his hand, where he held the pin in her. So he used pressure points, well that was interesting and new. She bared her teeth at him in a fierce grin, a challenging and defiant look in her gaze.

"Dead or alive doesn't matter right now, we're both after the same thing, right?" She licked her lips, casting her gaze to the broken window before looking back at him. "Yknow what they say, two heads are better than one. If we're smart I can catch his scent and track him down, and then when we get him we can fight over who gets to keep him, sound fair and square?"

She didn't try to struggle right now, she couldn't, and although she could have easily escaped if she had changed form and made him lose the pressure point, she decided not to. He was pretty, and interesting, and it'd make both their jobs a lot easier if they didn't have to worry about trying to fight each other to the death while other hunters were out there going after their target.

As he had her pinned, one hand was on her shoulder, holding the pin in place and the other was on her chest. And was feeling up her breast.  Goddammit.  Luca dragged his hand away and instead placed it beside her head. Something primal radiated off of her, and he felt it in his blood. Forcing himself to focus was harder than he thought.

Luca growled, but he wasn't an unreasonable man. The longer they argued the further Huxley would get away from them.  Or worse yet be taken by those hunters as their quarry.  Whatever Huxley did to make himself such a highly valued asset boggled something on Luca's mind. He wasn't that interesting of a person, and the man almost pissed his pants – or would have if Luca hadn't knocked him out.

He got off of her, pulling the pin with it and settling it back within the braid on his wrist.  He snatched up his ripped jacket, throwing it over his shoulders and settling into it. “Very well, go and sniff him out. I'll follow.  Then we duke it out. Those hunters don't give a shit who they kill.”

And if the managed to kill her, one less thing to worry about.

Luca jumped out the window, landing in a roll and scouring where Huxley might have gone off too.  “There's a tram up that way,” he pointed down the block and around another building.  “That's where I'd go if I were him. Fuck's scared shitless.”

And for good reason, he supposed.

Luca was off at a run, although part of him preferred to stay behind, letting her lead.  It wasn't a bad view either.

There was a moment where she realized he'd been groping one of her breasts, though she admittedly didn't really care all that much; he moved his hand and got off of her. As soon as the pin was out she took in a breath and felt her muscles tingle, but they were at least movable now.

She watched him carefully with those icy aqua eyes of hers; if he made a wrong move she could've killed him in an instant, as she was sure he could do the same to her. She nimbly jumped back onto her feet, baring her teeth again as he agreed to her proposal and jumped out the window. She followed suit, landing gracefully on the ground to follow after him, pausing for a moment as he explained his theory to scent the air, her lips slightly parted before she refocused on him, her tail wagging lazily as her ears stood up, attentive.

"Huxley's not a hard man to figure out, so far it looks like you're right." She said, having no problem in taking the lead, at the moment unaware of Luca's staring at her ass. There was a keyhole cut in the back of her suit for her tail to push through, and sometimes he could catch a glimpse of that porcelain pale skin underneath her suit, but nothing more interesting than that.

It wasn't often she ever paired up with anyone, let alone for a job like this with their interests were so much the same yet also still so contrasting. She glanced at him over her shoulder, smirking a little.

"If we're going to be working together it'd be helpful to know your name." She pointed out. "You can call me Hound, that's my name in the business." A name she was starting to become well known by.

Huxley's scent trail was easy to pick up; it reeked of fear, and it was the only scent around to do so here in Libra. It led them to the tram like Luca had predicted, and from there it took them on a rather short ride to a red light district. She rolled her eyes as she stepped out onto the platform, putting a hand on her hip as she looked at the people in the streets, prostitutes soliciting their services. How quaint. Reminded her a little bit of home.

"This guy's watched too many action movies." She growled as she took the stairs down from the platform; there was no need to not act like a civilized person, for now. Getting civilians wrapped up in your work was always bad business as far as she was concerned. She found it interesting he'd picked such a nearby place to hide in--he likely thought they wouldn't think to check this close by, considering he was on the run. Maybe he thought he could wait it out a few days until the coast was a little more clear, and then try running away for real.

Tsch. Yeah right, like they'd be that easy to throw off.

Oh they were going to share names now. Didn't seem relevant, honestly since they probably weren't going to see each other again any time after this. He'd go back to his stable and luxurious apartment back in Haviah, and she'd probably go back to baying at the moon and picking fleas. Or whatever it was that she did. She mentioned being a mercenary.

At least she had one thing she was good at it, and it wasn't capturing her target. In fairness, neither had he, but he wasn't going to point that out at any rate.

"Hound...  Hound. Nice," he murmured, rolling her name over on his tongue.

"Luca," he murmured, taking one last admiration of her ass before getting on the tram. He knew out of place he looked now. Bloodied and bruised, covered in dust, and with no shirt. The jacket really wasn't helping much, even as he brushed off a piece of concrete from his shoulder.

Coming down from the platform to the red light district, Luca had to say he was impressed with what he saw. It wasn't anything compared to Aedolis, but for Libra, it was a sight to see. The whores in particular were interesting, make up smeared across their face, looking lush, vibrant. Except that one on the corner, she looked like she forgot to shave...legs and face.

Luca tilted his head, pulling something cold and round out of his pocket, moving toward one of the whores and whispering something in her ear.  She smirked, glancing between Hound and he then at the object in his hand.  She nodded and pointed off toward an alleyway.  He grinned congenially and kissed her cheek gently, as if she were a glass doll, and dropped it into her hand.  He gestured for Hound to follow him, stepping into the alley where steam billowed up from exhaust pipes.

"She said she'd seen Huxley before. Or someone looking like him come this way," he muttered, looking up to the buildings above them.  "That window there.  By the scaffolding.  The curtains are moving, seemingly freshly so.  Not like there's wind here in Libra station."  A grunt and he made his way up the side of the building, until he was high enough to reach the fire escape and made his way up toward the window, slipping inside when he was level with it.

While Luca was impressed by the girls on the street, Hound didn't bat an eyelash at any of them. She came from Teinar, a place where women were congratulated with pats on the back for sleeping with outsiders and getting knocked up, which she found fairly disgusting. At least these women were doing it for themselves rather than 'the good of their people.' Ugh.

She raised her eyebrows when Shirtless, er, Luca, eagerly took the chance to sidle up to a hooker and give her some coin to tell him information Hound could have told him for free. She rolled her eyes when he wasn't looking, but said nothing--if he wanted to fritter away his money on the girls on these streets then that was his business, not hers.

At least it seemed like the woman wasn't lying; she could smell Huxley's scent the entire way as they reached the building he'd chosen to hide in, some cheap motel, by the looks and smell of it. They always smelled the same. Luca wasted no time in hauling his ass up the fire escape, and that was all fine and dandy--she took note of where the window was and went around to the front of the building, letting herself in and finding her way up to the same floor, to cover the front door to the room. It was locked, but that wouldn't be a problem, because as she leaned against the frame, the door was swung open by a certain horrified hacker Huxley who then literally ran into her--trapped now between the two mercenaries in his own room.

She delivered a swift knee to his crotch and then kicked him back into the room, following after him and shutting and locking the door behind herself, licking her lips with a wicked smile on her face.

"Well hey there Huxley you slimy little shit, I think you owe me for tasering me earlier. And here I was just trying to help you." She said, feigning hurt as she rested a hand on her sternum, throwing a glance at Luca over Huxley's shoulder. "You're in for a world of hurt now, little boy."

A sliver of the anger she'd expressed earlier was starting to creep back into her voice, it was a threatening tone in there as she growled her words at him, and it usually either had the effect of intimidating people in the same way as an aggressive dog about to bite your hand off, or for some it was a turn on. Or a mix of both. She didn't care which, so long as she got a chance to make Huxley pay, and that was very clear in the look in her eyes and the tenseness of her muscles as she took a threatening step towards him.

Luca didn’t tell his new accomplice that what he’d given the whore was a small ball of a drug called Rockitt, but that was neither here nor there. Better she have fun with it than he did. After the trouble in the warehouse, there were likely to be Libran patrol swarming the location, and asking anyone nearby if they’d seen anything.

He noted that Hound did not follow him. Which was just fine. She could cover the door and as he slipped into the bedroom window, he caught a glance at Huxley trying to stuff things into his backpack. When the skinny hacker saw him, the smaller man yelped and he flew for the door. Luca was on him faster than flies on shit. And although he bolted, he turned abruptly to head for the front door. He still had his taser with him and there wasn’t any way he was going to let himself get stung with that.

“It’s no use, Hux!  You’ve got nowhere to run!” Luca hissed, darting after him.  He was about to grab a small end table and fling it at him, when the door opened and there was Hound, kneeing him hard in the nuts.  Oh good.

Huxley tumbled to the ground, and Luca cracked his knuckles. Saved him the effort that was good, as the skinny punk rolled on the ground, holding his nuts, and only partly scrambling for the taser in his backpack. Luca kicked it away and looked up to Hound noting the tone in her voice.  The timbre of it sent a shiver down his spine, and felt his pants grow hard and made what were already fitted trousers, even tighter.  Funny. Threats of violence didn’t normally turn him on.  But he needed Huxley alive, and she was very intent on making him very dead.

He swooped in between them.  “Oh no you don’t.  The swift knee to the nuts was good enough.  He’s down and he’s not going anywhere except back to Aedolis,” he muttered. “So cool your jets, Sugartits.”

When Luca got in her face like that she bared her teeth at him in a feral snarl. Of course, he wouldn't just let he beat the little guy senseless here. She stared at him defiantly, a white-hot rage boiling under the surface of her eyes. Her only response was to pull one of the belts she wore on her white vest from its loops, giving it a threatening crack as she looked at Huxley and stepped around Luca to face him.

With frighteningly fast movements she grabbed the hacker by his hair and twisted, forcing him to roll on his stomach as she slammed her high heeled boot into his back, grabbing his wrists and wrenching them painfully tight behind his back as she used the belt as a restraint to keep them cinched together. The way she did so with speed and precision suggested she had done this many times before, but in those cases she usually wasn't about to kill the man she was tying up--no, usually they were FAR luckier than Huxley right now.

Grabbing him by the wrists she pulled him up to his feet, staring at Luca with that same bloodlust in her eyes, barely held back.

"Fine, I have a proposal. We take him back to Aedolis and once you've dropped him off and been paid and your job is over, then I cut his head off." She made the offer because she was feeling generous, and perhaps because she was a little intrigued with Luca and wanted go see how long he'd play along. "Then we both get our money and everybody wins, hm?"

She happened to glance down and noticed the tightness in Luca's pants, eyebrows raising a bit as her gaze flickered back up to his, that energy built up from her anger still fighting inside of her to escape somehow.

Only Huxley winced at the crack of that belt. Luca was only rarely shaken, and even more rarely stirred. Eying the belt sent a vague shiver down his leg and he felt his body twitch at the thought of it. He wasn’t unaccustomed to roughhousing of the sensual kind. Still, there was a job to finish, and leaving Libra quickly and quietly was much preferred to sticking around and making himself stand out even more than he was.

Still, that grin played on his lips, that primal sensation radiating off of Hound the way mist radiated off of dry ice and billowed out all around her. For Huxley sensed it too, and for him he was just trying to keep his bladder in check, and keep her from snapping his neck. The belt was secure around his wrist and he whimpered. Luca sucked air in through his teeth. For a second thought he might have actually been jealous of the skinny gnat of a hacker.

Luca stuck his hands into his pocket, casually striding over to Huxley’s backpack and opening it for a second, finding the taser, a wristdeck and a laptop along with various cords and phones.  He zipped it back up abruptly and shrugged the thing over his shoulders securing it and making a scowl at the smell. Huxley needed a shower all right.  Even if that was the least of his worries.

“If you keep your word, I’ll keep mine,” Luca murmured and reached across to hold his hand out to Hound, shaking it firmly, maybe even strongly to see if she’d buckle. “In the meantime we go back to my hotel, hideout.  And you, Mr. Huxley, darling, are going to answer some questions.  You’ve gotten lucky enough today.”  He winked at him, then at her and moved to the hacker’s other side, taking his other arm and pulling back along down to the street’s level.

They took the tram back, further up to a luxury district, and up to Luca’s hotel room. It wasn’t all that posh as he was used to, but it would do, and the room service was satisfactory.  He shoved Huxley through the door.  “Make yourself at home, friend.  You hungry?  Need something to drink?  Oh, and Hound, you’re good with a needle and thread right?”

Because his back was stinging something awful, and his jacket was already bloodsoaked.  His hardness wouldn’t go away, but he could ignore it for the moment.  Luca moved back into his room, setting his jacket aside and pulling out a med kit. It had the right equipment for extraction.  He went back to Hound, directing her to an ottoman in the center of the room and sat in the chair behind her.  “Sit still,” he directed.  And stuck tweezers in her without so much as a warning.

Hound glanced down at his hand, arching an eyebrow before she reached out and shook his hand in a grip as strong as iron. Luca could ask Huxley all the questions he wanted, so long as she got the hacker's severed head in the end, she'd be happy as a clam.

They were an odd sight, the three of them. It was amazing they weren't caught by a patrol as civilians backed as far away from them as their awkward shuffling on the little tram cars could allow: Luca, dirty, dusty, shirtless, with the back of his jacket covered in blood; Huxley, having gone without a shower for several days, each arm in the strong vice-like grips of each mercenary, visibly petrified; and Hound, a tall woman with guns strapped to her heels and very obvious bullets lodged in her in various places, standing there as stoic and straight-faced as ever, giving a hard stare to anyone who dared look at them too long, making the civilians flinch and look away, terrified to speak.

The sight of the other assassin's hotel room was a welcome one, and as she stepped through the door she shouldered Huxley a good one, making him lose his balance and fall on his fucking face which made her snort with laughter.

"Yeh sure, needles and thread. Got it. Good enough." She said with a wave of her hand over her shoulder, before Luca suddenly told her to sit, even going so far as to guide her to the ottoman himself, and she did so more out of confusion than anything. It was when he told her to sit still and stuck some tweezers in her that she realized what she'd forgotten--the bullets. She had bullets still in her.

He got absolutely no response as he started to pull one out of her shoulder, but he'd find he wouldn't have to work that hard at it. All it took was a little focus as she clenched her fists a little, and the bullets were pushed out of her skin by some unseen force, her body already healing and repairing the holes after they dropped to the floor, still covered in her blood.

She threw Luca a look over her shoulder, the same wildness that surrounded her being like a cloak shining in her eyes. It was like he was sitting there gazing at a feral wolf.

"Thanks, but that's not necessary." She got up, dusting a bit of dirt that had clung to her suit off as she looked down at Luca, nodding for him to take her spot on the ottoman instead.

She found the med kit and pulled it open, digging through it and finding the needle and thread; she disappeared into the bathroom for a moment, the sound of the water running being very brief before she came back out with a damp rag and sat down behind Luca. She wiped as much of the dirt and crusty blood off of him as possible before she threaded the needle and got back to work stitching him up. She'd had to sew herself up plenty of times after fights that were too nasty for her to immediately walk off, so she'd had a fair amount of practice doing this sort of thing, sometimes one handed, so it didn't take her very long at all to pull the wound closed, tie off the thread and snip it, having remained silent the entire time while she focused.

She stood up then, packing everything back into the med kit and closing it, tossing the rag into the wastebasket and stretching her arms up over her head, back arching gracefully for a moment as she let herself relax a little. She glanced over at Huxley, still fighting the urge to beat him black and blue, but she figured that could wait for later, and instead set herself busy with other things, like pulling her phone out from a zipped up pocket on her side, calling her own hotel and arranging to have her things delivered within the hour. She usually traveled extremely light, as she really didn't own a whole lot of personal possessions outside of her guns and clothes, so that was all that was being brought over--clothes. She shrugged out of her vest, tossing it into a chair and unzipped her catsuit to where the zipper stopped just below her naval. She wanted to strip naked but figured that perhaps right now wasn't the time; Shirtless over there already had a problem in his pants to deal with.

Luca wasn’t adverse to causing pain. In fact, he was curious to where and how she’d been shot, and why it didn’t seem to bother her.  It became clear it was the result of her primal condition.  The tail, the ears, the stern demeanor, the way she threatened to tear Huxley’s head to clean off.  That lack of remorse was telling.  Respect, even just an ounce of it, was worth more than pretense.

And Luca found there wasn’t any point in pretending around this woman. She didn’t seem to have patience for bullshit, which was just fine. Neither did he.  Picking up the bullets, he collected them and set them aside on the table and took her place on the ottoman while she returned and cleaned up his back.

He made a soft grunt when the needle pierced him but there wasn’t anything else that came out of him as she finished her work. Her hands were deft, and callouses left goosebumps on his skin. Luca could appreciate the workmanship, and stood up when she began to undress.  Purple eyes watched her from the corner of his vision, trying not to make it obvious he was staring.

But he was staring.  And it was getting harder to ignore the hard on in his pants.  Still, he chuckled and moved over to Huxley, dragging the poor man off toward the bedroom.  He had some cuffs handy in his luggage, just for moments like this, and he pulled him over toward a post at the foot of the bed.  The bed itself was secured to the flooring but with plenty of room underneath for storage or a body…  He strapped him to the base however and cuffed the belt around his wrists to the foot of the bed.

“What are you doing!?  I-I gotta pee!”

“Yeah? I’ve heard that one before,” he mumbled.  “Just be quiet and you’ll be taken care of.”

“Listen! You look like a reasonable guy!  C’mon, have a heart!”

“Shut the fuck up,” he replied calmly again, securing his feet.

“Oh, don’t do this-“

And a rag was promptly shoved into his mouth and taped over.  Luca sighed and kicked him hard in his belly before moving back into the sitting room.  “I’m going to take a shower.  Make yourself comfortable.”  Even if she already was.  Phew, no need for her to hide anything here.  Luca looked her over, lingering on the curvature of her breasts and belly, the exposed flesh between the unzipped sides of her catsuit, and he felt his belly warm again.

“Or you could join me instead,” he offered, looking her over and flashing a grin at her.  Or she could just do whatever she wanted. She didn't look like she was in the mood anyway.

So he cleared his throat and moving toward the bathroom.  Good gods, she was something else. Sure sure, he could find something just as good on Aedolis. He had some good lays.  There was one girl. Violet, he thought as he stepped into the shower and ran the hot water down on him.  Soap and suds followed, but he couldn’t help himself, and stroked his dick firmly in hand.  Damn, she had a mouth like lava. Except without the flesh-melting part.  He fit his girth within a frim grip, squeezing and running his turgid cock from base to tip, leaning forward in the shower.

He needed a release after a day like today, and he released a groan, rolling his thumb over the tip, starting back to the base.

Hound was perfectly well aware of the other mercenary staring at her, and at the moment she decided she was going to play hard to get, so his looks went ignored. She'd have been lying though, if she said she wasn't interested. Or that she didn't like the distressed comments coming from Huxley as he was bound and gagged. Mm. She licked her lips, gods she really loved torturing boys. It was so much fun--and this time she wasn't even the one doing it.

Luca came back out and announced his intention to shower, offering her to join him, to which her only response was to stare at him before she turned to get the tv remote, feigning disinterest. He awkwardly cleared his throat and went into the bathroom, and she smirked to herself, dropping the remote on the couch as she set to undressing. It was one thing she liked about one-piece catsuits like this, they were pretty easy to take off when they weren't made of latex. She loved latex, don't get her wrong, but it took forever to get in and out of. You weren't supposed to try and get out of it in a hurry.

Once she was stripped down to her black boy shorts with corset lacing up the back and matching bra with decorative straps that arched over her breasts and the sides of her rib cage, and she heard Luca's moans in the bathroom, she decided now would be a perfect time to come and get familiar. So she snuck into the bathroom, completely silent as she perched up on the bathroom sink, crossing her legs at the knees and waiting ever so patiently for him to finish. She deeply enjoyed the sounds he made, wondering if his hard-on was from the fight itself, or if she had something to do with it. Either option was completely fine with her--it was one of the many reasons she enjoyed being a woman, because it meant she could get off on violence and fights and not have awkward boners on display all the time. It made her seem a lot more professional than she actually was.

When Luca finally finished both his personal time and the shower, and finally pulled back the curtain, he'd see her sitting there on the edge of the sink, a sultry smirk on her face as she watched him with those piercing eyes of hers and asked,

"Had fun, big guy?~"
