Commissions and Conversations (BLUE! 8D)
« on: August 17, 2012, 03:33:32 pm »
It wasn't a way that Torsten normally chose to spend his days, and actually despite living in Aurora his whole life he couldn't really recall being at one before, but today he was roaming around a theme park. He was partially trying to get a feel for the place since he had been commissioned to make a sculpture for the entrance, and partially watching the weird people that inhabited the park. He chuckled to himself thinking how weird they all were for going on rides to get a rush of adrenaline or whatever other masochistic reason they had for doing so. He was already high and therefore had no reason to go on a large machine that could kill him.

Though he did have to admit that the calamity of screams, laughter, and general chatter was somewhat amusing. That and the various smells and colors everywhere. It was odd that he finally got a commission for something left entirely up to his own artistic sense, nothing specific, the kind of job he'd dreamed of doing cause everyone could see it... and he had no idea what to sculpt. After walking around like a lonely, weird creep for about twenty minutes he sat down on a bench and pulled a sketchbook out of his bag, trying to at least make an effort at designing something for the place before leaving.

Lonely weird creepsters were just what Chase loved to find~! Especially when they were creepering around places full of kids - that just added a whole new level of creepy to their already creeper status. So when his blue eye spotted one lonely weird creeper in the amusement park, he couldn’t help but happily prance along after him! No matter what happened, it was bound to be interesting - at least his logic said so!
Oooo and it looked like the man was an artist to boot! Weren’t artists usually strange folk? Bonus points!!

Without warning, there was a warm pressure on Torsten’s back - one young man had taken to leaning on him, gazing over his head at the drawing pad on the artist’s lap. Baw, nothing interesting on it yet…but that would probably change, right?
“What’re you gonna draw hmm?”

Torsten had been so busy staring at the blank page in front of him that he didn't even notice the other until that warm pressure was on his back. He was a bit startled but calmed down relatively fast for having a stranger leaning on him.

"I'm trying to design a sculpture for the park entrance, any ideas?" He didn't know the guy but anyone at the park was good enough to ask an opinion from. He looked over his shoulder at the strange looking guy with an eye patch and everything. Rather interesting to look at actually...

Since neither of them seemed to particularly mind Chase’s choice of perch, he continued to lean comfortably on Torsten, as if the man was not in fact a complete stranger. Then again…he’d likely have persisted no matter how the artist reacted…
Amusingly enough though, his current target seemed to be enviously calm about the entire situation - he even asked for Chase’s opinion!
What a wonderfully different person! He’d picked a good one~!

Grinning brightly down at Torsten, Chase wasted no time in answering him.
“Weeeell…mascot characters are always a good choice! Gotta put a face to the name, right? If they don’t have one, you can make one up! It can be aaaaaaaaaanything~!”
With the last sentence, which was of course said in a very sing-song voice, he leaned forward onto Torsten as if to accentuate his point.

So the eye patch guy just leaned on him more. Oh well it wasn't a big deal, people leaned on statues quite often and Torsten wasn't any better than the statues. "I don't think they have mascots here, that's why they said I could do anything I wanted for the sculpture..." Maybe the sculpture should have an eye patch?

He started to sketch a cute little fluffy creature with butterfly wings, an eye patch and a big smile. "Something like this maybe?" He asked looking back at the stranger.

"Face and name huh? What is your name then?"

He nodded vigorously in agreement, now rocking back and forth slightly against Torsten. How funny that he really didn’t seem to mind at all! Now he just wanted to see how much he could get away with, heehee!
As soon as the man started to sketch, Chase stopped to lean in again, eagerly watching with a bright blue eye. So coooool~!

And then Torsten did the magical thing.
Chase’s face was eaten up by surprise, and then glee quickly came in behind it. Torsten may regret having turned to look back at Chase, because no sooner did he come in range, and the eye-patched stranger was giving him a smooch right on the lips.
“You gave it butterfly wings! I love butterflies! You wanna see mine!?”

Without waiting to hear one way or the other, Chase was clambering over the back of the bench, sliding into a pile next to Torsten. He bounced back up onto his knees then, and though his slick little black shorts were already pretty low riding to begin with, he yanked them down a few good inches so that the blue butterfly tattooed just inward of his hip could be seen in it’s entirety (along with a generous amount of neon green underwear).
“And the name is Chase, my artistic friend!”

The rocking against him was one thing, it made him feel a bit like he was on one of the crazy rides around him, not a roller coaster, but there were plenty of other ones he had seen, but then suddenly his lips were met with Chase's as soon as he looked back. The kiss only lasted a second but it made him grin and chuckle. What an affectionate guy, and so animated! How did he manage to scramble over the bench like that?

And there was apparently not a shy bone in his entire body, especially since Torsten was just granted a lovely view of the other's hip and pelvic bone as well as a pretty butterfly tattoo. "That's pretty..." Torsten reached out to trace a wing without thinking about it. "Those are great colors too... where'd you get it done?"

He looked up with a peaceful happy smile at the strange eye patched guy. "I'm Torsten by the way, Torsten Roark Wright. It's cool to meet you Chase, hey what do you think I should call this guy?" He asked looking down at his sketch.

This guy was definitely looking like a keeper! Even after all that, he responded as though nothing odd had happened at all - he even reached out and touched his hip! A nice shiver ran through Chase at the light touch, and he briefly lamented the fact that public sex was generally a hard thing to pull off.
“That’s a secret~!” Was his sing-song reply to Torsten’s question. The man wouldn’t have believed him even if he’d told him anyway!

Not bothering to really fix his askew shorts, Chase sat nice and snuggly close to his new ‘friend’ - he’d probably have ended up in the man’s lap if not for the sketchbook in the way.
“Cool to meet you too! I like your name! Torsten - don’t hear that very often!”
Resting his head comfortably on Torsten’s shoulder, he gave a considering look down at the picture.
“It’s so small and cute and fluffy…something short and simple maybe? Hm, like…Oz!”

Torsten had already busied himself with sketching the creature from different angles to get a better feel for it. It would be cool to do the butterfly wings in glass... or maybe crystal? Would the park pay for that? It had been a while since he has worked with either of those mediums and never on such a large scale... he'd have to see what they said about it since it would cost more than normal. Without a word he wrote 'Oz' at the top of the page once Chase suggested it. It was a cute name, and he was already heavily influenced by Chase for this design, especially now that he saw the pretty tattoo.

"A secret? Alright."

He was so engrossed in his thoughts and sketching the dimensions and possible concepts for Oz's pose that it took him a minute or so to even respond to the other, who was now snuggling to his side- an unexpectedly pleasant thing. He had never minded people clinging to him as long as he could still work.

"So why are you here today?" He asked, though his eyes never left his sketchbook as he drew the little thing punching the air excitedly.

Chase wasn’t used to seeing creation in motion. It was sort of the opposite of his life up til now, to be honest. But here he was, watching this little creature sharing his name (as Oz was one of his nicknames once upon a time) being developed and created on paper. It really was like breathing life into it…each little pose and study created more dimension and a sense of personality.
He grinned at the last pose, fist in the air. It was enthusiastic, just like him!

“Meee?”
Chase tilted his head up as if thinking hard about that, still curled against Torsten comfortably. There were certainly a lot of ways he could say the truth, but all sounded about as devious as they were. Lying seemed the best bet for the moment - after all, one couldn’t very well say ‘shopping’ without having to explain. And to explain would be to give away the surprise!
“I like places with lots of people! It’s so busy and lively. And sometimes I get lucky and get to meet neat guys like you!”
Hm, well, close enough!
