An Arrival and a Meeting (Glenn and Ash)
« on: May 02, 2012, 07:10:14 pm »
Glenn had been traveling through space for months now, stopping and exploring at various planets, space stations and talking to other ships that he came across. It was in his nature to explore and with a scientific inclined mind he couldn't help but take advantage of discovering new things, how they worked and who they were. Anything and everything he came across was like a new toy, it turned him into a kid in a candy shop. to him this was the best adventure that he could have and it provided him with the ability to forget about his best friend and ex-girlfriend a topic that he tried not to think about at all, to be betrayed by them like that hurt a lot especially when he had planned to propose to her after they had graduated.

Now he was on his own, traveling space in his small ship off to start a new life somewhere, perhaps in Space never settling down anywhere. All Glenn new was that this was what he needed and he loved it.

He had been in this Solar System for the past few days and had been flying around trying to get a feel for it before deciding if it was worth landing or not. Most of all he didn't want to land somewhere that didn't have space exploration, he didn't want to contaminate their timeline. He had seen some space stations around but he had to figure out if they were related to these planets first but it seemed that they were, that allowed him the personal go ahead to land on one of the planets.

Doing so, he wandered around for awhile before he spotted something in the distance. Making his way towards it he noticed it was a large tent before he noticed someone outside it, smoking. "Hello?" he called out as he approached them.

Ash did all her smoking outside. One, because she didn't want cigarette smell all over her stuff, and two, because Briar would get all over and she liked him lots but the fussing over the imaginary knee scrape had been enough. Besides, she'd told her she was going to try and quit. So while everybody else did the usual after-after-show shtick (which was sort of a toned-down version of a party, which she didn't want to go to anyway, thanks for asking) she stepped outside and lit a cigarette and ignored the way the cold was going to her leg.

Ash turned at the sound of the voice, coiling up her hair and pulling the cigarette away from her mouth. One man (or something that looked like one). He didn't look like he was armed, but you never knew.

She coughed once, to get her lungs clear (her voice rasped after she smoked, and she hated it). "What do you want?"

Glenn looked at the woman critically, he couldn't tell much about her and she looked like any other woman too as it was. Her tone gave nothing away, the words could just be blunt she didn't sound rude but that didn't mean anything, he hoped she wasn't at least. "I've just arrived here, this planet that is, and I was looking for the nearest town? Also could you perhaps tell me what planet this is exactly? I have been traveling for some time..." he trailed off not wanting to inundate her with questions or seem overly pushy, he was just curious when it came down to it.

Friendly, he had to come across as friendly but not too friendly, that was something he had learned early on his travels. He'd been run out of places for being to friendly - he had no way of knowing that shaking their hands was a way of flirting with them or that being too serious with the next race was a serious offense. He had to tread carefully, follow the signs that he was given and just be careful, he did want to come out of this alive after all.

"'s Edanith," said Ash. How did he not know where he was? It was pretty obvious, being one of two planets people could live on and the redder one at that. Either he was some kind of dangerous or from really far out.

She wanted him gone.

"Tynova's right there," she said, jerking her thumb at the city back behind the camp. "Biggest city on the planet. I think that'll do."

Glenn wasn't all that surprised he hadn't heard of the place given how long he had been traveling for. He wouldn't be surprised if he was in a completely different galaxy let alone solar system. It was probably closer to a year than anything since he had left his home world. Sure he had spent some time on some of the planets he had come across as well as observing various spacial phenomenon's that he had encountered but nonetheless he knew he had travelled an awful long way. "Thank you," he replied with a nod. "I appreciate it, do you know the best place to stay?" he asked curiously.

Unfortunately she seemed to being rude to him, meaning Glenn would get out of there soon before he aggravated her too much, he didn't want anything untoward to happen. The last time he had pushed someone too far for information on where he was he had ended up in prison an experience he really didn't want to repeat.
