Fightership: Zephyr Strike
« on: December 20, 2007, 03:44:59 pm »
Name: Zephyr Strike
Model: Custom
Creator: Using slowly acquired parts and adaptations of Vantr's blueprints, Capt. Pierce, with the help of Vantr, created this ship.
Pilot: Capt. Pierce, Vantr
Design: Sleek and stealthy, all weapons are internally housed and must be deployed to be of use.

Specs:
Physical:
- black, woven, self-repairing nanotech tantalum-tungsten alloy armor (conductivity, EMP shielding, heat dispersion, and radar absorption)
- Inner workings are coated to resist freezing and work under cold temps
- Twin Mark X Darkflame propulsion systems
- Nanobot repair system
- Liquid nitrogen cooling system
- AVD - (Advanced Visionary Display) allows for scanning and identifying of targets, infrared, heat tracking, and x ray vision modes.
- ASA - (Adaptive Shield Array) various points on the ships hull can emit a barrier.  This barrier can take one of three forms:  Energy Shield - a general all purpose barrier.  Heat Sync - barrier for the sole purpose of deflecting heat energy.  Used primarily for entering atmospheres, but combat usefulness has been noted.  Cloaking - barrier that bends light around the ship, making it invisible.  It also serves to block the heat signature of the ship.

Cyber:
- integrated psychic connectivity
- ability to sync with Vantr
- ASA adaptation software (if the ship detects nearby heat it will switch the sheild to Heat Sync mode
- psychic missile guidance uplink (allows for psychic guidance of missiles)
- anti-diagnostic software (returns faulty data to a diagnostic program to insure the protection of experimental systems and weapons data)

Weaponry:
Type-H Missiles - one of three custom missile types equipped to Zephyr.  The missile is about two feet long, but it packs a punch.  All missiles can be psychically guided to their target.  The missile's piercing tip is able to pierce many known armor types.  Once inside the target's hull, the missile explodes, releasing a large amount of compressed liquid hydrogen.  The intense cold cools down the inner workings of the target to the point of near, or actually, freezing.  In this state they simply cease to work correctly...if at all.

Type-T Missiles - one of three custom missile types equipped to Zephyr.  The missile is about two feet long, but it packs a punch. All missiles can be psychically guided to their target.  The missile's piercing tip is able to pierce many known armor types.  Once inside the target's hull, the missile explodes, releasing a large amount of thermite.  The explosion ignites the thermite which in turn welds the inner workings of the ship together, stopping them completely.

Type-N Missiles - one of three custom missile types equipped to Zephyr.  The missile is about two feet long, but it packs a punch. All missiles can be psychically guided to their target.  The missile's piercing tip is able to pierce many known armor types.  Once inside the missile, unlike the other types, does not explode.  Instead it releases a mist of nanomachines that aim to infect the system, crashing the computerized systems of the target.

Variable Plasma Cannons - These plasma cannons, once deployed, reside on either side of the cockpit.  They have two modes:  Disk - the cannons concentrate plasma energy into a disk, and launch it (at any angle) to sever weapons, wings, etc from the target ship.  Auto - the cannons convert to a normal firing mode.  They shoot concentrated plasma rounds at a rate of about 235 rounds/minute.  However, they quickly overheat and are only able to fire at a constant rate for about 1.75 minutes.

Shrapnel Mine - deployed from under the ship, these mines aim to disable small pursuing ships by force.  After being deployed, if a ship travels by them they explode, launching over a hundred pieces of shrapnel at the target.  The detonation is meant to weaken armor to allow the special shrapnel to gain entrance.  The shrapnel attaches to the ship's hull magnetically before deploying.  After that it begins to burrow into the hull.  Once all the shrapnel is inside they detonate in unison to cause a cataclysmic shutdown of the ship's internal systems.
