Eggs!
« on: October 06, 2007, 03:06:53 pm »
I gave my pair of lovebirds a next box last summer, there were no eggs and so I thought they were males. However today they have proved me wrong! I had given them a coke box to chew and they(The female, Tora) had mad a nest. I dismissed it, thinking that nothing would happen. However lately one would always be in there and when I held her, her stomach/bottom area seemed swollen. Lo and behold when I checked in their this morning, there were eggs! Hours later she came out for a few mins to have something to eat and stretch her wings, I counted them. There a 4 eggs  :D

They are peach faced love birds, just search it on Google for images of them. They are both the normal color. As a wrote before the female's name is Tora (means tiger in Japanese, I named her this because of her aggressive personality) and the male is Tori. (Bird in Japanese, original right? :roll: )

Tora is also a letter away from Torah, which is a pretty cool word, I think ^^;

Tora also means Torpedo Attack... That suites her, she was always very aggressive and protective. once she had a toy that she was so protective of, she'd dive onto my had a attack it.

 I only know Japanese I've picked up from the few anime shows I've watched. I got 'tora' from fruits basket.

I know a few other words and how to call someone an idiot... It is [insert name] no baka, I believe.

I'm not sure how many will actually hatch, I read on a site that says that it is not uncommon for one or 2 eggs to be infertile. However when/if any hatch I shall make a post for you guys to suggest names.
