Introducing Plot Arch No. 2

Location: Deep Forest (random planet), moving to Greenwood (Maine, Earth)
Season: Winter (Deep Forest), Spring (Earth)

RULES

1.] The most obvious. No godmodding, or I’ll kick yer buts. (Of course, controlling Terry isn’t godmodding … He’s our free-for-all-controlled-by-all bitch).
2.] This thread is going to be long. And I mean LONG. And probably slow … in the sense that we won’t come to the conclusion for a couple of months, most like. Hope you’re up for the commitment. :]
3.] Any powers allowed~
4.] Like my last Plot Arch, everybody is allowed to implicate bits of their own plot in here. If you need/want something to happen, by all means, proceed! If it involves all of us, or one, or two … just let us know ahead of time, yes?
5.] In this thread, your character may be able to gain a few powers. I'll let you know when, and will give you the option to accept or decline the offer.
6.] All filters are off! I don't give a flying fuck if you curse or swear. :P

I'll give you guys a week or two to initially settle in. No need to post right away for the first go!

So it continues …

The war between Deep Forest and Necrosis is over. Danger has encountered the residents and promptly ran off with its tail tucked tightly between its legs. Returned to its pacifist mannerisms, the Wood of Deep slumbers in solitude and exalts in celebration. So what now? All is over. The only thing left to do is to go back to where we left off – living life day-by-day: learning, thriving, exploring, loving … you name it. Trouble’s shadow no longer looms … for some. But not for others.

And there were many others. One of which lingered within the depths of Deep Forest, hanging on the periphery of Silvertree Grove and the Edge. With one half of her illuminated by the din of silver from the mystical patch of trees to her left, the silver-tailed fae trotted from this spot to that one. A tongue stuck out of her mouth, both eyes (for the headband was off, temporarily) narrowed in concentration. Clenched in one hand was a small, metallic object with two buttons. And clasped in the other was the world’s tiniest Philip’s head screwdriver, which Naira was quickly beginning to learn was a pain in the ass to maneuver and an even larger pain if you happened to drop it on the forest floor, where it could be lost within the grasses and fallen leaves long lost to decay …

It had taken her long enough to assemble the damned thing. Now to get it back together … How in the hell was that supposed to work? With every ‘last turn’, one object or the other fumbled out of her grip. Naira blamed it on her cold fingers. Yeah, some parts of Deep were nice and toasty because of unicorn magic and all the what-have-yous. But this bit was chilled, untouched by enchantments. All of her extremities had gained a pale-blue hue over the last few hours. She could no longer feel her face. Everything else was frozen over, which was why she adorned a long coat. Lucky for the Soul Reaver, the draconic-half of her body was tempered for harsh weather conditions such as this. They stayed comfortable no matter the hassle. And –

”Aha!” yelped she as something clicked into place. ”Gotcha!”

Naira held the object high. Its hatch sheened in the soft sunlight, dulled by the unfavorable season. She rolled it in her palm. Stashing the screwdriver in her pocket and bringing the buttons-thing down to eye-level to look for malfunction, she bobbed her head once and glanced around. What now? All the supplies she would need were packed up and at Greenwood already. Bana’s dragon egg had been picked up, handed to Scarlet for safekeeping – she told the V-ACT 32 to keep it by hot coals in the Caverns, and trusted the Juggernaut to do so. Scarlet was nuts, yes. But when given a command she would see it to the end without failure.

Weapons … weapons. Well the grappling hook was back at Bana’s old den. It would have been preferable for the half-dragon to work on her precious buttons-thing there but she’d declined. It gave her the heebie-jeebies. True, Naira had cleared out all the macabre head trophies (and given the to Scarlet, of course, who burst into tears of happiness at the … gifts … before crushing Nemo of any remaining oxygen) and scrubbed the walls clean of congealed blood and moldy masses. But it stank of a death she was not fond of. Being within ten feet of the ‘home’ made the hair on the back of her neck raise up. She would not be surprised if it ended up being haunted by Bana’s tormented soul, if any remained after the whole murder scene …

It suddenly came to Naira’s attention that there was snow around her and further on she could hear the crunch of footsteps. She stuck the buttons-thing in her mouth, clenching it with sharpened teeth, and kneeled down. A ball of snow rolled into her hands. The first thing that came into sight was gonna get blammied …

Pinstripes.

That's what wandered through the forest, well one of them anyway. It was a little hard to tell due to the shadows of the trees at this hour of the day. But there it was, the crunch of snow as feet fell in unison.

There were three males, two females. The first one, was a man that stood about seven feet tall with the body of a tank. Yellow skinned, Strong, muscular, built like a tank and balder than an egg. His facial features were somewhat masked due to the mirrored sunglasses he wore. His apparel consisted of a black suit with red vertical pinstripes, a matching crimson tie and a white dress shirt, besides the dark leather gloves he wore as his belt line hung two freshly sharpened executioner swords, about as wide and longer than a baseball bat, each pierced with a cut out of a club near the end.

An average sized female also wore a similar outfit but had traded the pinstripe jacket for a vest. With piercing blue eyes and shoulder cut purple hair she truly projected the look of 'Ice queen.' Instead of having two swords at her side, the only really unique trait was that she wore her hair in a bun with two fans tucked neatly into them in an X pattern.

The other female wore what appeared to be a joggers outfit and looked quite feeble. Old and wrinkled, quite tiny. The outstanding feature was the fact that she reminded an onlooker of peppermint, with her joggers outfit of red lined with white and her matching beehive hairdo of red and white swirl and cane... she looked like something from a fairy tail. Like Santa Claus's grandma.

Another man wore an outfit that looked like it came out of the 17th century. Skintight and hugging, made mostly of leather for protection and a long black cape. He wore black fur lined boots and pants that provided comfort and flexibility. His eyes were cat like and yellow, but his hair was a hue of red that reminded one of cherries that should be on a sundae. Then there was that hat... a long wide brimmed one with a feather in it. Overall exotic looking with a bit of dark attraction. This man looked like a witch hunter.

Now the fifth and final member of the crew who was walking in unison but at the lead was wearing a suit of black armor. Pale skin and cat eared, pink hair flowing in the wind... it was Juno. Leading the group of... well what ever they were.

The whole group looked like a circus of misfits, or rather very unlikely people to be hanging out at one point. Juno however turned around and a began to talk, unaware of the person behind him armed with a snowball.

"Crew..."

And saaaaa-WEEEENG batter batter! Naira revved up for the pitch. Fingerless-gloved digits curled about the mound of snow. Ice melted between the cracks, seeping down and dripping out. One eye was closed - the bad eye, not like she could close the good eye and hope to see anything that way. But she aimed for the prospective target - a gleam of blackened metal like onyx: sun reflecting off the shiny material to make it the most obvious thing in existence. What was it? A Balraa? They were probably still around Deep. She didn't know. And it would be entertaining to get one riled up ... for the sake of riling one up. Curiosity welled up and her tail coiled into a spring. Sharpened spade dove into the snow, piercing its heart to the very core. Now for the pitch ... Muscles taut, arm lurched forth at rapid-speeds -

"Crew ... "

Crew .... Crew? The term itself did not stop the Soul Reaver in mid-swing, but the voice. Feminine, but definitely male on some plane. Familiarity. Too late! Her fingers let go of the snowball and with her mouth forming an 'o' Nemo bounced backwards. Her back hit a tree. She spun and climbed it, nearing the uppermost branch where a backpack had been fastened. Nothing like an aerial ambush when the pirate entered the clearing below ...

She didn't see the Cardigans. She didn't see the Succubus.

And the buttons-thing ... slipped from her pocket, fell ... She reached for it. Not a chance. "Shit."

Entropy had somehow survived the war and kept from being captured by Rekka, but there still seemed to be a noose tightening around her neck. She'd heard that there was a new person around who was looking for her. A vampire, and a rather dangerous one at that. It seemed that the glimmer of hope she'd had when she learned that the incubus wasn't working with Bana anymore hadn't amounted to anything.

Luckily, Nei had been hanging around the succubus a lot more lately. The newman girl had noticed that keeping Entropy company went a long way towards keeping her from being as depressed as she could otherwise get. At the very least, it kept her mind off her troubles.

Currently, the two were heading south towards the Swamps. Entropy needed to retrieve one of the spellbooks she had left stashed in her cabin down there. As they passed under one particular tree, though, something fell from above and struck Entropy on top of the head.

"Ouch!" Entropy squeaked in surprise, drawing Nei's attention.

Seeing the thing that was falling, Nei reflexively caught it in her hands. Looking over the small metal object, she saw a few buttons and immediately tucked it away from Entropy's view. She then looked up and saw Naira above.

"Hey there Na--" she started to greet the half-dragon.

"Owww..." Entropy cut the newman off, continuing to whine and rubbing her head. She then happened to notice that Nei was hiding something from her. "Hey, whatch'a got there?"

"Oh, nothing important," the newman responded.

Entropy was getting interested, though, and suddenly jumped around to Nei's other side too quickly for the newman to even realize she was moving.

"Hey, buttons!" the succubus exclaimed, then proceeded to reach for the thing.

Nei reacted quickly enough this time though, holding the metal thing out of Entropy's reach and holding her free hand against Entropy to keep her back.

"Come ooooonnnnn," Entropy whined, trying to push past the hand. "Lemme push iiiiit!"

It looked like the two were going to keep horsing around with whatever the thing was if they weren't stopped.

There came the crunch of footsteps in the snow from the direction of the Village about the same time the Neko-lead group arrived, as well. Or rather, hoofsteps, as soon became apparent as a pure white figure trotted into view from among the trees, gold legs lifting high above the snow as golden mane and tail flowed gently with the equine's graceful movements. The mare's head stretched low as she slowed to a walk, sniffing the snow as she picked her way through a deeper drift.

The unicorn stopped to paw at the ground, then promptly jumped away with a startled squeal at the spray of cold snow that pelted her belly. "Coooooohhhhhhllllll d!" Crystal half yelped, half giggled - which sounded very odd coming from her equine mouth - and bounded and skittered through the white powder away from the drift, tossing and shaking her head. Sudden changes in temperature tended to make horses rather frisky; The young Unican was no different, and she was feeling playful and full of energy after leaving the green inner parts of the forest for the snowbound Silvertree Grove. Crys was curious to visit the silvered wood, and so, having nothing better to do at the time, she decided to treat herself to a sort-of-vacation and go see it.

Kicking up her heels, the mare broke into a lope, arching her neck and flagging her tail behind her. Her spirits were high, to say the least. But a moment later she hit a patch of hidden ice, and with another laughing yelp, she slipped and fell on her rump, sliding several more feet before coming to a stop not from from the other side of the tree Naira and the other two women were gathered in and around.

Grumbling good-naturedly, Crystal stood carefully and proceeded to shake, starting at her nose and ending with a flip of her tail. Then she came closer and peeked around the trunk of the tree, ears pricked as she looked first at Entropy, then up at Naira. "I thought I heard some familiar voices!" she exclaimed in her oddly-accented English, her tone happily surprised. She wasn't sure about how they'd react to a mental voice, so she continued speaking aloud. "Entropy, Naira! I wasn't sure when I'd see you two again! All healed up all right, I hope?" The mare herself wasn't quite sure whether this last was addressing when she'd come upon the two out in the Wastes during the blizzard, or from whatever injuries - physical, mental or emotional - they may have sustained during the war, and would settle for an answer to either.

"Hello," she added to Nei, looking at her curiously; She decided to wait until the other... Rather strange... Group was closer to address them.

Think Fast.

That was the word that jutted and bounded around in Juno's skull as he realized that they weren't alone. There was one quick way out of this. He snapped his fingers, and the witch hunter worked his magic.

Lights and illusions sprouted out of the man's fingers replacing Juno's out fit with one of pinstripes. Taylored and made to make him look like a dubious double, namely Roze. glassy eyed and pale expression. While the hunter himself took on the look of a green skinned elf, sickly and green looking. All this done in an orchestrated movement even while the bald man unsheathed his swords, lit the ends of them and fizzled the snowball in one swoosh.

The other two of the group of cardians however used themselves as a makeshift screen while the hunter did his magic.

Before was Juno and the four of them... this time it looked different. Sure five bodies but what appeared to be two different people, if anyone was really paying attention to them. To anyone who knew them, even remotely... well there they were. The full deck of cards, the Cardians.

The hunter, or rather the elf began to talk.

Desperate beyond desperate, Naira has resorted to slipping off of the tree branch and wrapping her legs upon the frail piece of fauna. Arms extended, fingers stretching with vain determination to grab and be rewarded. All of the woman's attempts were futile in the very end. The buttons-thing slipped between a hungry grip and faltered to the ground below ... caught by Nei, accompanied by Entropy. Dangling upside-down for a while, Nemo was surprised to see both demons here and now. Surely they'd been caught up in the war, somehow or another? Regardless. Nei was holding the remote high while the oblivious Succubus dove and jumped and whined to touch and push it. Naira shuddered at this. If either button was poked prematurely ...

Just as the half-dragon forumlated a plan, in came a familiar equine by means of a natural Slip-and-Slide. Crystal went flying on thick ice, her hooves unable to support her weight on such a slick surface. She just missed the tree. Good. There was one less injury for today ... Still awed by the visage of three - and a group of strange folk not too far from this peculiar gathering - Naira waved, dumbfounded, at them. "En, Nei, Crys ... 'sup?" Arms had loosened. They dangled with weight, straight; affixed. Her legs went to work twisted into a more lax position. "Doin' good," she answered the Healing Unisus' inqury. "Better than going comatose in the Wastes, at least. Yourself?"

Without warning, Naira released her grip. The fae fell in silence, her body twisting in mid-air. She was close. One second later and there would be nothing but a red splatter on the snow. But by that point, Nemo was turned so that her belly was down, hands and legs out: she pounced Entropy's back, tail flailing out so as to decrease the weight of impact, thus greatly reducing the Succubus' risk to getting crushed. Snow ploomed out around the duo, briefly clouding them from view. When it settled, Naira was shaking her head from side-to-side.

"Bad Entropy. Didn't anybody tell you that pushing red buttons leads to nukes being set off?" It wasn't far from the truth. Keeping the demoness pinned, Naira held out her hand, grinning sheepishly at Nei. "Can I have that back, pretty please with a cherry on top? It's ... well, I need it. For stuff - "

"Who dares to strike at my patronage?"

"CANNNN I EATS DEM?"

Oi, if Nay didn't know any better she would have wondered what Scarlet was doing here.

"No, Ranta. No."

Naira had her back turned to them. Mouth hidden by the collar of her Kevlar vest, she twisted her head just so that her good left eye could survey the group of stripes. Cardians, Cardians ... Irritant bile drew up in the bowels of her throat, The recognitions of those bunch were brief, but unlikeable. Gaze flitting towards the demoness shapeshifer in the lot, something cold gnawed away at her heart and an instant hatred for that one woman in particular roared deep underground like the ever-churning Earth's mantle. Strange. Wasn't Juno there a few moments ago? Just a hallucination - you need more sleep, dear ... Around this time Naira realized her fall from the tree created a compound fracture in her upper arm. She reset it, all the while maintaining a quip to her voice.

"Aww come now, haven't you ever heard of snowball fighting?" said she to they who spoke. The cracking of the ball-and-socket joint shifted a piece of her vest. Just underneath and tucked in the back of her pants was the gleam of something metallic - the handle of some kind of firearm ... Two handles. Two firearms. Guns? "Something fun to bust out of the whole war-is-coming funk Deep's been in lately." Oi, she cringed at that. Fun ... for how long, a day before things escalated from bad to worst? Greenwood ... was not peaceful.

Nei and Entropy had both likely been caught up in the war, but they could both be rather slippery when they wanted to be. Despite their numerous bouts of insanity, they were actually quite intelligent.

However, Entropy was momentarily distracted from her quest for the buttons by Crystal's arrival.

"Crys!" she called, waving excitedly. "Good to see you!"

Then, hearing Naira's voice, she looked up into the tree and also saw the half-dragon. She gave her a wave too.

"Nay?" she chirped. "Didn't see you there."

But then, a moment later, Naira dropped on her without warning. Entropy squeaked in surprise, pinned down before she knew what was happening.

"Ow! Hey, what gives?" she protested.

"Bad Entropy. Didn't anybody tell you that pushing red buttons leads to nukes being set off?"

Bad? Entropy looked up at Naira, eyes wide in surprise for a moment, then closed her eyes and lowered her head in shame. She had almost set off one of those "nuke" things? Oh, she had just about messed up really bad...

"I... I'm sorry..." the succubus apologized quietly. "I didn't... know it was for one of those... nuke things."

But on the other hand...

"But I... I really want to push it..." she whined. "Can't I just push it a little bit? I'll be careful not to push it hard enough to set it off."

Nei, meanwhile, also shook her head at Entropy and let out a sigh. Then, at Naira's request, she held the box thing out for the half-dragon to take. However, what Naira had said about red buttons causing nukes to go off had gotten her worried. For a moment, the newman looked at the half-dragon, studying her and thinking about something.

"... Are you going to be pushing those buttons yourself?" she asked, her voice a bit grim.

"Oooh! If you're just gonna push 'em anyway, lemme do it!" Entropy piped up. "I can wait 'till you're good and ready. I just wanna get to push them, I don't care when."

"Good. Been relaxing and just having some fun, catching up with some friends and -" The mare's head flew up and she shied away at the half-dragon's sudden plummet, turning her head away and lifting a foreleg to try and shield from the shower of snow. The look on her face, when she dared open her eyes and face the others again, was simply classic: Wide eyes, flared nostrils and pricked ears, white snow clinging to her mane, forelock and eyelashes, her facial expression one of almost comical surprise and bewilderment.

"Nukes?" she repeated, blinking. Then, "Norad?" a few moments later, making the only connection to nukes she could think of. "You talking about Norad's nukes?" Then the unicorn temporarily forgot Naira's earlier words as she noticed that the older woman's arm was injured, though she couldn't quite see exactly how. "How is it that you always seem to be injured whenever we cross paths?" she demanded good-naturedly as she approached. "Can't you keep yourself whole and hale for five minutes, you silly goof?"

The mare stopped beside her as the half-dragon reset her arm, tilting her head and pricking her ears. "Wow," she commented, impressed as she realized what had happened. "I don't think I could have done that. Do you want me to Heal it so it doesn't cause any trouble later?"

And just what burr's caught in your tail? she added mentally, mindvoice tinted with concern, as she studied the shifts in Naira's emotions and fought against the anger and hate that surged towards her, trying to draw in more of the happier emotions around her in a sort of emotional armor or shielding coccoon. Her voice - both mental and physical - displayed a calm and tranquility she did not entirely feel, as did the gentle wave of Empathy she sent to Naira and those nearby. Or at least, she hoped that she came across as calm and tranquil. If you had a hornglow, you'd be showing red and crimson. What's wrong, my friend? How can I help?

"Hello there dearie. Would you like some bubba-gum?"

The girl in pinstripes just rolled her eyes at this token of good will while some semblance of a plot took place.

Seconds after her mild rebuke of Entropy's behavior, the girl was sulking. Naira tittered, removing herself to stand alongside them. Yeesh, the Succubus was upset by a lot of things lately, wasn't she? Nemo felt kinda bad for it. "Oh jeeze, En ... ," she started apologetically. But a second later that remorse was replaced with eye rolling humor. Entropy was back to begging to push the button. A long sigh passed out of her maw. She's like a little kid ... And that made her laugh.

Nei handed over the item in question, and Naira took it gleefully. It did not go without an inquiry, however, for Nei was pressing her with one. The green-eyed girl avidly wondered if she should have said anything, then thought, To hell with it. Knowing Nei and Entropy, they were going to get the information out of her in one way or another. So she shrugged. "Eventually, yeah, I'll be using them. Not in Deep Forest. Pshaw, I actually like this place and don't wanna see it blown to smithereens." When Entropy started begging again Naira lifted the remote away so that it would not get swiped away. "If you're good, I'll give it to you," said Naira to the demoness - gods she felt like she was talking to a two-year old, and it amused her. "But not 'till much later, kay?" Much later? Naira's mind had to wander - she wasn't bringing Nei and Entropy with her, was she? She shouldn't, but ...

"Can't you keep yourself whole and a half for five minute, you silly goof?" asked the unisus, trudging forward to meet Naira, worried about the break in the arm.

"No. Insane bad luck. But I have been in half before. You know you're in trouble when you look down to find your lower body is ten feet away." True story. She shrugged of Crystal's offer with a haphazard grin. "Don't worry 'bout it. Metabolism like to take care of that - it won't be coming off again anytime soon unless somebody takes a broadsword to it ... Huh ... " She'd turned her gaze to the Cardians. Ranta was offering gum to Entropy. Despite their 'peace offering', Naira was tense around them. One wrong move would be all that was needed ...

Her head did a mild jerk at the mindspeak. A sparked, brief moment of hope made her falsely believe that Leise was back and conversing with her mind as he liked to do. But the spirit owl was nowhere in sight. Besides, the voice belonged to Crystal, and a great disappointment welled up in her gut. Leise had vanished not so long ago, his whereabouts unknown. Would he ever return? But his existence was only real because of the connection he had to Naira. With that chord severed, there was nothing. He was probably whisked away into the fires that bore him.

The half-dragon shook her head at Crystal. She dared another brief glance at the Cardians, the confusion of where Juno had gone still bugging her - she was sure she'd seen the mop of pink hair a few moments earlier. The gaze was returned to Crystal. Unable to telepath as the unisus did, though, Naira sighed. A small smile stretched across her face, but it was false, marred by two cups of worry and a pinch of vengeance.

"Just going on a trip," Naira admitted. Funny. The last time she'd been cornered was when she was taking off to Ethernos in search of Nakéminae's father. Back then she had refused any information to her friends at first. But now ... what was the point of hiding anything? Nemo was next to a 'mind reader' and two very persuasive people, along with a blusterous group who ... well, she didn't want to think about it. They'd get the info out of her either way. "Sight-seeing and exploring in possibly one of the most dangerous, screwed up, gory places on Earth - literally, I mean. It's on Earth." A pause. Something dark crossed those green eyes. Naira pushed the remote into her vest pocket. "Tending to some business that needs to be completely, utterly finished."

It was at that precise moment when Terry appeared. The Graveling had lost the spark that made him invisible to those who were alive and well, and visible to the dead and dying. In full and plain view, the little two-foot tall creature jumped from the trees and landed on Naira's head, making her briefly lose balance only to regain it a moment later. His coarse brown hide displayed numerous angry red welts, and as he breathed the already noticeable ribs pushed against the skin. He looked emaciated, but that was his natural appearance - the Dealer of Death must present himself as slightly similar to his subject. Large, dish-sized eyes dazzled in a luminous yellow glow with slitted pupils laying at their epicenters. A mask of tan coated his face, nose, and upper lip. Quills jutted from his back, their tips ending in whites and blacks and tans. Clasped in each hand was a long rounded lead, and while Naira finished her last sentence the Graveling stuck them to the top of his head so that they mocked rabbit ears. The quills stiffened, becoming rock-hard and rattling. Lips drawing back in a feral snarl, Terry's elongated teeth, sharpened to fine points, became visible. A resemblance that, despite the difference in size and color and fur, was not too much of a far-cry from Kuro's appearance.

Well aware of the Graveling perched on her head and unbothered by his light weight, Naira clapped her hands together. She was grinning, her voice echoing that kind of fraud jubilation that a wryly amused convict has when he finds himself surrounded by cops. And every syllable dripped with sarcasm.

"Oh Greenwood, how I've missed it so."

Naira's answer to Nei's question only confirmed the newman's suspicions. She just gave the reaper a grim nod, though. While Nei didn't particularly like the thought of one of those things being set off, Naira must have had her reasons. It must have been something pretty bad that Naira wanted to get rid of.

"If you're good, I'll give it to you," was the answer to Entropy's begging. "But not 'till much later, kay?"

Entropy immediately stood up straight and took on a solemn look like a girl scout about to say the Pledge of Allegiance.

"I'll be good," she declared. "And I... I can wait. As long as I get to push it in the end."

Her voice rang with determination. It would be a hard wait to endure, but if that was what it would take, then Entropy would wait. Better to have to wait before pushing a button than not getting to push the button at all.

Ranta's offering of gum, however, then distracted Entropy completely.

"Ooh, chewiness! Awesome!" the succubus exclaimed, snatching the gum up from Ranta's open palm and tossing it directly into her mouth. "Thankies!"

And then everything was all better, it seemed. The succubus was in a world of her own, just her and that ball of sugar.

Nei, meanwhile, remained mainly concerned with what Naira was saying about the mission.

"Just going on a trip. Sight-seeing and exploring in possibly one of the most dangerous, screwed up, gory places on Earth - literally, I mean. It's on Earth. Tending to some business that needs to be completely, utterly finished."

Of course, it didn't take much for Nei to put two and two together from that.

"Completely and utterly finished?" she asked, eying the detonator again. "I'll say."

It was then that Terry's sudden appearance on top of Naira's head surprised Nei slightly. Just a bit, though. She wasn't exactly the sort to flip out over that sort of thing. By the time Naira mentioned the name of Greenwood, the newman was already composed again.

"Greenwood?" she asked. "That's got... something to do with that Valtiel... or is it Kuro this time?"

"Vllltyull?" Entropy's muffled voice suddenly came from behind a rather large bubble she had taken the liberty of blowing a moment earlier. Reaching up with a claw, she popped it and shoved the remains back into her mouth. "Finally goin' after that guy? Not gonna run off without me, then, are you?"

Judging by how Naira had been operating lately, ever since the month where she had been missing, that was a serious concern. The chances were good that Naira was planning on going off by herself into danger again, and that was how Entropy had lost her the last time. On top of that...

"You already said I could push the button!" Entropy objected, rather loudly, seeming pretty frantic about it. Of course, that was a bit of an exaggeration, since Naira had said she had to be good, but Entropy didn't like the feeling of even that chance slipping away. "You can't go and take it off somewhere before I get to push it. You might lose it, and then what'll I do? I'd have to go looking for it by myself, and I probably wouldn't ever find it."

Nei, meanwhile, also had a piece to say on that. Getting to push the button may have been what was on the forefront of Entropy's mind right now, but Nei knew that the succubus had a deeper concern than that.

"Of course, we're both coming," she said to Naira, determinedly. "I don't know if I like the thought of one of those bombs getting set off, but if this Greenwood place is bad enough that removing it is that important, then you're not going through it on your own. If not for your own sake, then..."

Nei gestured at Entropy, who was already back to blowing up another bubble now that she was finished talking.

"Then for hers," Nei said. "You didn't see how bad off she was while you were gone. She kept blaming herself, saying that you were gone because she left you behind. If you hadn't gotten back when you did, I was afraid she might have withered away completely. So... no offence, but you can't do that to her again."

Nei just sighed again at Entropy, a bit chagrined by the succubus' apparent lack of understanding of what pushing those buttons actually meant.
