The Citadel / Running Keeps You Sexy! [Blink]
« on: July 30, 2017, 02:52:39 pm »
It wasn’t even daylight when Alec left his apartment with a duffle bag slung over his shoulder. He was definitely dressed for working out with black track pants, jogging shoes, and an old t-shirt. He hadn’t even put mousse in his hair!

The gym was pretty much empty at five in the morning on a Saturday, which was just how Alec preferred it. Being alone was almost always preferable when working out. Too many distractions when there were a lot of people around - far, far too much noise. Working out was his distraction from other distractions. It was almost meditate and cathartic. Plus he was not the most buff of the pilots. His academic and psionic performance had been fantastic, but he’d always just barely squeaked by on the physical exams.

Earbuds went into his ears, keeping the music soft as he dropped his bag next to the treadmill and plunked the water bottle he’d brought into the holder next to the console. A few minutes of stretching later and he was jogging at a brisk pace, heart monitor strapped to his arm to track his heartrate while he ran, going in cycles of running to get it up for about twenty minutes, then slowing down to a walk to let it even back out for ten or fifteen minutes, and using the easy pace to rehydrate.

Alec did that for twenty miles, before he just gave out, his leg muscles and lungs were both burning as he gulped air doubled over with his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. That was definitely a new record, at least. Five years ago he could still only go ten miles before wishing he was dead. Go him.

Of course he was only busting his ass this early three times a week because Nimbus insisted that he stay in a certain level of physical shape regardless of his relatively non-dangerous and low-key desk job. Not that the human Pilot directors didn’t also expect him to maintain his physical readiness as well.

At least all the running kept him sexy as hell.

“Fuuuuck.” He was covered in sweat and felt a little gross; all he wanted was to shower and scarf down the biggest, greasiest burrito ever, or maybe a pizza, chug a gallon of soda with it. As long as it was fatty, fried, and disgustingly unhealthy he wanted to eat it right now. Instead he pulled a towel out of his bag and patted the moisture off his face and neck, not paying much attention to the people around him.

Absences/Returns / Moonie's Stressed
« on: May 15, 2013, 04:53:03 am »
Just gonna go ahead and throw this out there, but I'm really, really stressed out right now. My life is insane at the moment, but hopefully things will get back to normal here soon. I have panic disorder, with mild agoraphobia, and current happenings are aggravating my condition.

I'll try to pick at posts, when I feel up to it, but some threads will probably get more replies than others and all my replies are probably going to be slowish right now. It's just...yeah. I'm sorry guys. :(

Advanced Training Complex / First Impressions [Rhi! <3]
« on: May 09, 2013, 06:45:49 pm »
It had really kind of been totally random. Alec honestly hadn’t expected to get an email with the schedule and file of a candidate, or for that candidate to email him just a few minutes later asking to meet him. He’d figured they wouldn’t give him a candidate to mentor until he’d had a few more years of experience. Maybe it was because he was in the PR department and had scored so well on his academics, or because of his personality. Whatever the reason, he found himself in the ATC once again, a little nervous about meeting his very first candidate.

She’d sounded damn cute over her emails, kinda bubbly personality, he was imagining. Hopefully she wouldn’t give him a lot of trouble, and hopefully he wouldn’t make a total fool of himself. She said her brother was a Pilot, he wondered what Gabriel Tierney was like. He really hadn’t met him before, didn’t have a strong impression of the Pilot Echo. However, it hadn’t taken but a couple seconds to learn that he worked in the tech department. That was kind of cool. Oh well, hopefully her brother wouldn’t be a pain in his neck.

As usual, Alec was dressed in a pressed and finely cut black suit, with a creamy green silk dress shirt under his suit jacket. His tie was black with a matching shade of green in geometric designs. His dress shoes were polished to a shine, and he looked at the silver-plated watch on his wrist only slightly impatiently. He’d been a candidate recently enough that he remembered how much of a pain it could be and he was planning on doing his best to make things go as smoothly as possible for this Rachel Tierney. His mentor had been strict, but fair, and he hoped that he could build a good rapport with his candidate too.

He sent a text to Rachel’s phone.

The Citadel / Mindless Doodles [Open]
« on: May 04, 2013, 11:39:38 am »
Alec was impeccably dressed, as always, a finely, and custom, tailored black suit, with a neon green shirt, black tie, stylish sunglasses, and black dress shoes that had recently been polished to a fine shine. He was easily wearing thousands of credits worth of clothing. His ebony hair was neatly combed, with green streaks as neon as his shirt breaking the unrelieved darkness of his soft tresses. A very fancy, and expensive, silver plated watch adorned his right wrist, a graduation present from his mother.

Yes, all-in-all Alec felt he looked quite fetching today; especially with him ever so slightly leaning back in his chair, one leg thrown over the other. For someone so shy, he really did enjoy looking good, or maybe he was just shy about approaching people, because he really liked to be admired for his appearance. If he hadn’t have become a Pilot, he thought that fame might have still suited him well. Perhaps not as an actor or singer, but certainly following along his mother as a famous video-game designer, or perhaps even as an author or even artist. As it was, becoming a Pilot was an instant shot to fame.

Of course, being within the walls of the Citadel, he really didn’t have anyone to impress with being a Pilot, since most of the people there were Pilots themselves. There were Stage 5 candidates, and a smattering of military personnel, but they were used to Pilots. In this lounge area, there were only the Pilots and Stage 5 kids, who were Pilots in all but name. Kids…some of them were a little older than him, and he had been one of those ‘kids’ not that long ago. He’d only graduated a couple months ago. Those were his classmates, people he had trained with, people he had grown up with. Had becoming a Pilot really made that big of a difference?

Sighing he turned his attention back to the open sketchbook in his lap. A charcoal pencil had left his generally clean fingers smudged with black as his hand moved fluidly over the paper. He was drawing a rather provocative sketch of a barely clad woman in a suggestive pose. He could only smirk, he’d only half paid attention to exactly what he was drawing, just whatever was on his mind. Apparently he was thinking of something fairly racy. For only half paying attention, the sketch was phenomenally detailed and a fine showcase of his natural artistic talent. Yeah, he could have definitely been an artist.

Wants and Limits / Moonie's Okay With It
« on: March 03, 2013, 10:39:13 am »
PLAYER WANTS

What types of plots are you interested in playing?
Most everything! I like romance, comedy, companionship, drama, and most everything in between. I love story-telling and evolving, engaging, and in-depth plots. Fun, silly short plots are cool too. It's going to depend on the character, I guess.

What types of plots are you not interested in playing?
Ah, hmm. I'm really not that good at long, drawn-out fight scenes and battles.

How often can you reply to any given thread?
Right now I have no life. I'm a housewife with no kids, so I'm on a LOT. Depending on how many threads I have at the time and the cooperation of my muse, I would say none of my threads will have to wait more than a few days for a response.

What is the longest you're willing to wait for a reply to a thread?
Hmm. Without prior notice, probably a month. With some heads up, as long as necessary. Things happen, I get that. So if I'm threading with you and you need to take a long break, just let me know! I'll be happy to pick up where we left off when you get back if you still want to follow the thread/plot. :3

Are you open to RPing over instant messengers? If so, what's the best way to contact you and what times are you generally available?
Not really. I just...don't like it. I guess. Something about it is just weird to me. If I'm comfortable with the person they might talk me into it.

Are you open to post volleying?
I LOVE IT! If we're both available then just throw me a pm, mention it in OOC in our thread, or just let it happen spontaneously!

Anything else?
I already mentioned that I have no life right now, so threads with me will probably get pretty rapid replies. Please, please, please don't feel obligated to give me a reply back right away. Even if you're online and posting for other people, I don't mind waiting for you to come up with something awesome or to get your muse together for a particular character. Sometimes you just want to sit and think a response over before posting it.

PLAYER LIMITS

What are you limits regarding powerplay/godmoding?
Little, reasonable things are okay to just go ahead and do. Just please make sure it would make sense. Also, do not think or feel for my character, pretty please. Only I know exactly how they think, feel, and react to certain things.

What are your limits in regards to romantic situations?
I'm open to pretty much anything romantically, if it makes sense. Boy/Girl, Boy/Boy, Girl/Girl. If my character is into it, then I'm cool with it. Organic relationships are preferred, but I can pre-plot as well! If your character would reject mine IC, then I really, really want you to reject them! Rejection sucks and is great for plot and character development.

What are your limits in regards to sex?
Depends on how comfortable and how well I know the player, the characters, and my mood for that day/thread/plot. Sometimes I might be willing to imply, fade to black, or write it out. It will really depend on a lot of factors. Some of my characters are also more chaste than others. Some will engage in sex for any reason, with little prompting, others may desire a commited relationship, and still others may be completely uninterested in it.

What are your limits in regards to pregnancy within plots?
Pregnancy is part of life. Hell, it's the beginning of life. It can and does happen. So does loss. I'm perfectly fine with engaging in plots that involve these things. These are very deep plots, and since most of my characters are male, if the female character they are involved with becomes pregnant, well, that is at the discretion of that female's player. You are welcome to even surprise me with it! Men get surprised all the time in real life with it, why not give my own guys a heart attack? Why yes, yes I am mean to my characters.

What are your limits in regards to violent scenes?
This is going to depend on the character, plot, and situation. I'm not totally against writing out some pretty graphic stuff if the characters would engage in such behavior.

What are your limits in regards to abuse/rape in plots?
Tragically these things are a very real thing in life. I am willing to write these, imply these, or fade to black these. Again, depends on the situation, how comfortable I am with the other player, etc.

Are you okay with characters being transformed against their will?
I'm not sure I have any human characters for anyone TO turn. Against my character's will, yes. Against mine? Please don't.

What about healing?
This is again, going to depend. If my character is injured in the course of a thread, by all means, have at them. However, sometimes my characters have ailments or receive injury that I intend to be there and stay there. When in doubt, please just ask.

Anything else?
Not that I can think of at this time.

__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF

Physical Description:
Face:  Can easily be mistaken for an effeminate boy.
Hair: Mahogany in color and kept cut short in a pixie bob.
Eyes: Mocha
Skin: Smooth, golden bronze
Body: Boyish and narrow, very little feminine curve. He is flat-chested, making his gender easy to hide.
Clothing: Wears cargo pants, tank tops, boots, a black army cadet cap with a white skull on the front, and a green corduroy button-up jacket. Also has a tool belt around his waist at all times. Has his upper chest tightly wrapped at all times to hide what little chest he does have.
Tattoos/Piercings: None.
Scars: If you were to feel beneath Nick’s hair, his scalp is littered with scars from multiple cranial surgeries.
Weapons: Twin semi-automatic pistols kept in a shoulder hoister.

Personality:
Strangers: When you first meet Nick, he will be wary and standoffish, perhaps even snarky. He distrusts most people and will not easily befriend most people.

Acquaintances: A little sarcastic and certainly unrefined, but overall a nice person, once he decides you’re not going to hurt him.

Friends: Nick has trust issues and doesn’t make friends easily. However, if you have managed to gain his friendship, he’s still sarcastic and unrefined, but he also lets his better qualities shine through.

Close Friends: If you’ve made it this far, then you’re one heck of a person to have won him over this much. Nick will go out of his way to help you and is a loyal and devoted friend. He likes to joke and poke fun and tease and generally likes to have a good time. Since you’re a close friend, he actually feels safe and comfortable enough to loosen up around you.

Best Friends: You probably know everything about Nick by now, including the fact that he is a girl, and not the boy he pretends to be. Not only will he go out of his way for you, he’d lay down his life for you.

History:
Early Childhood: Was born and raised on a backwater planet in a small human settlement. Parents insisted on calling him Nicholas and dressing him up in boy’s clothing. He was forced to act and think like a son instead of a daughter.

Childhood: War broke out when Nick was seven years old. He suffered a severe gunshot wound to the head. He was evacuated to a hospital in Cancer in an attempt to save his life. His wounds were dire and they performed multiple, extremely risky and experimental surgeries on his brain to try to repair as much damage as they could. He remained in a coma for four years as they continued to use him as a test subject for various projects of the medical staff.

Late Childhood: When Nick was eleven, a surgeon decided that he would experiment with nano-technologies and AI systems to try to at least bring the young girl out of his comatose state. It took seven weeks of additional surgeries, several nano-bot injections, and hours of programing. However, now fitted with a computer AI operating system, Nick opened his eyes for the first time in four years.

Teens: After coming out of His coma, Nick had to undergo extensive rehabilitation and therapy. His parents had been killed in the war on his home planet and he had become a ward of the hospital. It took years for him to re-learn to walk, talk, and perform basic tasks, plus he had to learn how to use his AI systems in harmony with his biological brain.

The doctors considered him a great success and constantly monitored his progress and tested his new abilities. They uploaded mechanical programs and set him to work on various hospital equipment; seeing if they could actually program a trade into a human being. It worked beautifully and the hospital was abuzz with excitement. They could potentially wipe out the need for schooling with AI programing inserted into a human being!

Nick was very unhappy with his new life as everyone’s favorite lab rat. He became even more withdrawn and mistrustful. He had no friends in this place; he wasn’t even looked at like a real person, just a test subject. One of the surgeons had actually become rather fond of the strange girl that refused to acknowledge anyone that addressed him as a girl. Sixteen at this point, the doctor presented him with a tool belt. It was a practical gift, considering they had programed him into a tinkering profession.

His real gift was a surprise, he told him. Leading him through the hospital, he moved to an underground labyrinth of tunnels. Giving him precise instructions, he left him at an intersection and returned to work. It was hours before anyone even realized that he had escaped.

It took him approximately six hours to figure out how to hack into a computer network, generate credits, upload a weapons program, and purchase two handguns.

Magic/Abilities:
AI Operating System: Nick can upload instructions on just about anything he wants, if he can find the programing.
Weapons: Nick uploaded information on the care, maintenance, and operation of dozens of guns, knives, and explosives.
Hand-to-Hand Combat: Nick has uploaded several different programs on various martial arts techniques. His knowledge is infallible, his application is lacking.

Relationships: None.

Aedolis Characters / Alec Holding, Pilot Noble
« on: February 26, 2013, 08:12:32 am »
Name: Alec Holding
Gender: Male
Age: 31
D.O.B: November 5th
Height: 5’ 11”
Weight: 153 lbs
Orientation: Pansexual
Occupation: Pilot Noble
Psionic Abilities: Telepathy, Empathy
Dragon: Nimbus; male

Appearance:
Alec is reasonably good-looking, if you're into tall, dark, and handsome guys in the prime of their lives. He has baby-soft, raven black hair that is cut into a dashing faux hawk, occasionally he'll have blue frosted tips. The youngest of the Holding children has the most unbelievably sapphire blue eyes one could ever find. They shine like polished gems in the sunlight. Alec's eyes are also eerily deep and profound, like endless clear pools of hidden knowledge and life.

He’s got pale skin that is smooth and clear. Alec's fingernails are actually manicured to perfection at all times. His toes are pedicured too. In fact, just assume that he’s as pampered and groomed as any high maintenance diva: eyebrow plucking, waxing, make-up when necessary – the works.

His attire is typically very professional when in the office. He has a penchant for finely tailored and expensive suits of the three piece variety. For some reason he just loves suits with vests, and owns several. He wears a dragon pendant around his neck on a short chain, letting the pendent rest at the hollow of his throat. It was custom made for him to resemble the dragon he is bound to: Nimbus.

Alec also has multiple piercings and tattoos. His ears have small, silver and diamond studs in the lobes. He has a silver bar with a dragon tongue piercing. For tattoos, he has his dragon wrapped around his left arm from shoulder to wrist.

Personality:
Quite often he seems to be zoned out and not 'all there' or absent-minded. He is actually a very deep individual and very intelligent and thoughtful. He's actually very good at math and science; he loves reading, writing, and especially drawing. You won't often catch him without a sketch book. He’s also a bit of a video game addict.

Alec is actually rather shy when he isn't working. He's fairly laid-back, not often having a problem with most people; in the past he was known to lash out if startled or threatened, which was often because he was extremely anxious and reclusive his first two years. Through the program he has gained a greater control over his emotions, or at the very least, of his reactions.
Alec likes people, for the most part. He can't stand stupid people, ignorant people annoy him, and arrogant people just make him want to explode. Unlike the typical rich kids, Alec isn’t cocky and doesn’t think he’s better than everyone else. In fact, he knows that he’s definitely not better than most people.

History:
Alec was born into the upper caste. His mother was a famous video game designer. They lived well in a nice home, and were very well-off people. He was born with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth. Because of this, he was always given the best of everything, including his education. Private tutors were hired to make sure that he was given a proper education. He absorbed everything they could throw at him. Alec was a knowledge sponge, he loved learning.

When he was twelve he started into drugs and drinking. Why not? Everyone else did it. Even his mother did it. They embraced the hedonistic culture of Aedolis. Makes sense, when one is raised on such morals and practices. There were also other things beginning to develop. How could Alec sometimes know what another person was going to say before they even finished saying it? How could he know that someone was angry with him, or lying to him?

For a while he just brushed this aside, telling no one. It downright frightened him. By the time he was fourteen it was too late. There was no denying something was clearly psychic about him. Namely, he was shopping with his mother when he began crying hysterically about the violent whispers that wouldn’t leave him alone. A man had smuggled a contraband firearm into the mall and shot three people a few moments later.

The ordeal so frightened Alec that he had to be hospitalized. It was there that he babbled nonsensically to doctors. He told them everything. After two days recovering from shock, he was released from the hospital…into the custody of the Pilot Candidate Program.

Stage 1, or the grace period, was a living nightmare for him. His abilities were completely out of control, his intense empathetic episodes coming and going on a whim. Sometimes he felt like he was drowning in the thoughts and emotions of everyone around him. Other Candidates quickly found that he was a rather easy target, at least, when he wasn’t able to control his abilities, which was a good portion of the time.

Alec was coerced into doing sexual acts a few times, and his shy, quiet nature got him a lot of teasing and more than one beating.

In Stage 2, things didn’t get much better with the bullying, but he had made it to Stage 2, that was all that had mattered to him. Classes were a breeze for Alec, he’d always been an excellent student, and he didn’t let the exhausting physical drills or bullying stand in his way. He’d show them. Wait until he became a Pilot, then they’d see who got the last laugh.

When he became Stage 3, all the bullying stopped. He was forced to work with his fellow Candidates, and he finally grew into his own place within the program. While he still found the program harsh, he no longer resented being drafted so much. He had begun to accept that this was inevitable, and for the best. Besides, he could do some good as a Pilot. He could help his country in ways he could never have imagined as an ordinary citizen.

By Stage 4 his psionic abilities had finally been brought into heel. Only the very occasional slip still came through. His mentor hammered this last bit of psionic frustration out of him with refinement. He no longer feared being TRIMed. Becoming a Pilot was only a matter of time now.

Stage 5 went quickly, only taking a year for a dragon to probe his mind and decide to bond with him at the age of 20. Thankfully Nimbus was not particularly violent. Alec is left mostly to his own devices on a day to day basis as long as he is doing what he should be, with his dragon taking little interest in micro-managing his life. They have bonded well, sharing a good rapport after years of being partners.

At age 24 they were promoted to Echo rank, and now they have freshly minted Pilot Noble status.

Psionic Abilities:
Telepathy- Alec is a particularly strong telepath. He has learned to shield his thoughts very well, instinctively and reflexively. Only another truly gifted with their telepathy could hope to crack the wall he builds around his mind. Not only is he great at shielding, but penetrating as well.

Combining his telepathy and empathy he has learned to manipulate the minds and emotions of others, causing their mental shields to crack or even shatter, giving him access to their inner most private thoughts and memories.

It is a very draining process to break into another person’s mind, and Alec hates doing it. Despite his gift for interrogation, he has a different gift he vastly prefers putting to use.

Empathy- Learning to guard his own emotions so they would not spill out and have an effect on those around him was a long, hard battle. In the end he did learn to project emotions at will, and to keep himself from being overwhelmed by the emotions of others.

His empathetic nature makes him very good at consoling or soothing others. Helping people rather than hurting them makes him extremely happy. That is why he now works in the HR department as a counselor for both Pilots and Candidates.

Aedolis Characters / Summer Meadows, Pilot Royal
« on: February 25, 2013, 03:38:37 pm »
Name: Summer Dawn Meadows
Gender: Female
Age: 42
Height: 5’ 4”
Weight: 137 lbs
Orientation: Questionable
Occupation: Pilot Royal, Tech Specialist
Psionic Abilities: Telepathy, Telekinesis, Teletechnopathy
Dragon: Zenith; Male

Apearance:
Summer has black hair that she keeps in a choppy, chin-lengthy cut, with blood-red streaks throughout. It is kept brushed over to one side, falling over half of her face.  Her eyes are a vivid green, like clear-cut emeralds. She’s not exactly an impressive height, but the way she carries herself leaves no question of her position as a person of some power.

Blessed with an athletic build, Summer doesn’t have to deal with gigantic breasts getting in her way while she works. Oh she has them, to be sure, but they’re a modest size for her build. Because of her military training she is leanly muscled and in very good physique. There isn’t an ounce of flab or fat to be found on her body and she prefers to keep it that way.

For clothing, like most Pilots, she only gets her uniform out for formal occasions and necessary events. Most of the time she’s in black cargos, whatever shirt she happens to throw on that day, black combat boots, and a black half-jacket; Summer likes to keep her style simple and tasteful. She isn’t much for accessories. She does have platinum, extremely high-tech watch/computer that she wears at all times on her right wrist. It was a present from her Pilot mentor upon graduation.

Personality:
A personality is a hard thing to really peg down. Everyone has multiple layers. Everyone wears masks. Sometimes you wear a mask so long; you forget what lies beneath it.

Summer is nothing if not dedicated. Her life is devoted to the good of Aedolis. You see, Aedolis is a Utopia. No one goes hungry; no one has to sleep on the streets. This is possible because of the control dragons exert over humans. Humans are irresponsible at best, and cannot be trusted with their own fates. All her life she has been conditioned to be a slave to this political machine and she fills this role well.

All that aside, she does have more to her than that. Despite her willingness to submit to dragon rule, she is a remarkably strong person, with a charismatic personality. Her self-assurance, and her conviction have led her to excel in situations that might have brought another person to their knees, and she sub-consciously draws people to her. Because of her ease of taking charge of a situation she could be considered a bit of a natural born leader.

While she isn’t completely anti-social, she does tend to keep to herself a bit. She shields her thoughts for the most part, wishing to keep what goes on in her head to herself, and her dragon, of course. There are no secrets she keeps from Zenith.

It is hard to touch on every aspect of a person’s personality. Summer takes authority seriously. She has busted her ass to earn her place high up on the military food-chain, and she doesn’t take shit from subordinates. Her Candidates that she mentors are blessed and cursed. Summer will never, ever give up on a Candidate once she’s taken them in, even if they end up wishing she would! She has a tendency to be a bit of a hard-ass when it comes to whipping Candidates into shape.

Summer has a habit of cussing, perhaps more than strictly necessary. She smokes and drinks, but refrains from harder drugs. Her relationship with her dragon is rather extraordinary. While she is a bit of a stickler for authority, she does frequently cuss and bitch at her dragon. He finds this amusing and does not punish her for it.

History:
Summer’s father was a Pilot, and her mother had psionic abilities as well, although they weren’t enough to put her into the Pilot program. Her mother worked at TRIM as a scientist instead. It wasn’t all that surprising to either of them when Summer showed psionic capability, and when she was thirteen she was recruited into the Pilot Candidate Program.

For the next five years, she trudged doggedly through the program. If not for the fact that she was not old enough, she’d have finished in four years. However, once she hit eighteen and was a level 5 Candidate, she was quickly tested and probed by a dragon named Zenith, who had been watching her for quite some time. Satisfied with what he found, he bonded to Summer and she has been his Pilot ever since.

Together they have made a remarkable team. Between her dedication, and his ambition, the pair has proven themselves a formidable duo. Summer has received recognition for outstanding service, more than one award for heroic action, and more than her fair share of scars.

Psionic Abilities:
Telepathy- When it comes to this psionic power, Summer is much better at shielding her own thoughts than cracking into someone else’s mind. However, she can fluidly communicate with willing conversationalists.

Telekinesis- This power lies powerfully within her. In fact, it is her greatest talent. She can easily move objects with her mind that her body couldn’t manage, even though she is not a weak woman. Inanimate objects are preferred targets, however, when people get on her bad side, she isn’t afraid to use her talents to her own advantage.

Teletechnopathy- Not really her strongest ability, but it is well-honed and more than adequate. She can remotely patch into machines both simple and complex.

Dragon

Name: Zenith
Gender: Male

Appearance:
-Zenith is not the largest dragon, nor is he the smallest.
-His wingspan is rather impressive.
-Primarily black, with a red underbelly.
-Right side of his face is mechanical as is his entire tail.

Personality:
-Ambitious
-Confident
-Extroverted
