Communication / To Yavul Hyakinthos, From Everett Kingschilde
« on: November 12, 2018, 01:52:25 pm »
Greetings, Yavul

I am Everett, I'm Harley's older brother.

I'm sorry to have worried you but I felt like you should learn about this directly from me instead of a news letter or some official who bears bad news.

This past weekend, Harley came to Haviah for a rare family dinner. He went out somewhere, came home the next morning to my parents suite and sometime after lunch he collapsed and was unresponsive. He's been in the best care at the hospital since yesterday afternoon but I wanted to make sure he was stable before I reached out. If he had passed, I was going to be a coward and let the officials tell his coworkers.

Harlequin suffered acute kidney failure due to a multitude of reasons.

He's also extremely underweight and dehydrated.

I don't mean to scare you. He's hooked up to all sorts of machines and he's been unconscious since yesterday. We have nutritionists writing up meal plans and figuring things out. I'm aware of his aversion to eating alone and I can only assume that got wildly out of control.

Harlequin is a stubborn person and being in an uncontrolled environment with no structure, a disaster like this was bound to happen. I'm only glad he collapsed at home and not alone in his apartment.

You're free to visit him. The Valkyries and Neeko are spoken about during the rare dinners and he gets a light in his eyes when he boasts about you.

We're seeking to place him into a sort of rehabilitation for his weight issue, though I imagine his status as a Pilot will be difficult for us to work around as we're only civilians.  If you're concerned about his health, I request that you see our side and help us place him somewhere so he can become as healthy as can be before he returns to living alone.

I realize this is a bit long and has gotten rambling, I haven't slept.

The base point is:

He's in the hospital, he should be okay.

Lavender enjoyed the show.

He watched the smooth moves and pondered briefly about taking up pole dancing or maybe evening using a pole in his next session but that train of thought was cut short because it was not only rude, the lady on stage was distracting. Any thoughts besides wanting to interact with her on more than a few levels were tossed aside and forgotten about. While she danced, Lavender daydreamed about her and he sat patiently when she was done. He sipped his champagne and rolled his shoulders, letting his mind drift while he unwound.

It was a little classy of a place to wind down but... He'd been invited.

With no other company, Lavender was on high alert and his ears twitched when he heard the footsteps behind him. There was a different cadence between someone walking past and someone walking to him and he was ready to turn around and grab at a wrist until he recognized his lovely lady's scent beneath the smell of fancy perfumes and expensive clothes. Expensive clothing just smelled different, he couldn't tell you why. Lavender glanced over his shoulder and smiled slightly, glancing up Phoenyx from bottom to top. He licked his lips and gave a gentle shrug.

"I don't know, I think I deserve a better apology than that," Lavender stood up, all but towering over her. His tail was polite and remained motionless behind him while he chewed on his lower lip for a moment. He caught her hands, smoothing his finger tips over her palms and wrists before he moved to stand beside her, a hand resting on her lower back and wrist while he leaned down to speak into her ear.

"Well, are we going to play along? You know what the text said." His voice was a low growl and he teased the fingertips on her back downwards to the top of her backside. "Anything I want. Anything." Lavender chuckled, moving to stand up tall, "Should lead us somewhere we can ... talk... privately, hmm? Learn more about one another."

It wasn't a good trait of his, to be so oblivious.

Ellis wasn't usually on top of it when people were attracted to him. He knew he was attractive. He knew that usually he caught looks and when he was in the mood for a hook up, finding a partner was relatively easy.  During the day though, in his house, Ellis just was sort of... Not aware of it. Sure he noticed Jonesy turning a little flushed but that could be for any reason. Maybe his house was warmer than it was in the hall way. Maybe he just... Had red face.

He plucked at his shirt while he listened to Jonesy offer a name and he tumbled the name Zephyranthes around in his head before he tried to say it. Smiled confusedly when Jonesy wandered off to make coffee and Joan wandered over to his bedding to wash the sheets. Mattie lay in her little makeshift bed, cleaning her babies occasionally and mostly just existing to be a food source.

Curious about the name he pulled a face and meandered to his nightstand to get his com, looking up the word Zephyranthes. Ellis walked from his room to the kitchen, a sort of panther walk while he read, steps measured carefully before he smiled softly and looked at the back of Jonesy's head while he desperately searched for coffee. Was he shy about offering a name?

"Amaryllis family," Ellis said out loud, looking to Joan when she hopped up on the counter, curling an arm around her waist and giving her a loud smacking kiss on the cheek. She seemed sad and contact always grounded him, he was just one to assume it worked like that for everyone that seemed to tolerate him. He stayed quiet while she mentioned where his things could be found to Jonesy and held up a 'wait a moment' hand in reference to needing help make breakfast. "Zephyranthes is in the Amaryllis family," He told Joan, showing her his com and the pretty flowers. Ellis smiled slightly, giving the freezer a sad look. "I like it. It's beautiful," there was a sad sounding sigh before he tucked his com in his waistband and moved up behind Jonesy.

"Zephyranthes it is," Ellis said from behind him, leaning over to trap him ever so slightly between himself and the counter. The two men being the same height and general build meant he had to get on his tiptoes to reach up and over Jonesy, pressing most of his front to Jonesy's back before he grabbed the container of pre-ground coffee beans, "And coffee is here," He said, voice too close to unsuspecting ears.

Ellis offered a helpful smile before he moved away and about his kitchen to grab a pan and various bits of breakfast food. Eggs, sausage, some potatoes. "Breakfast is an affair," he said, "I don't use frozen shit, so you guys make coffee and get comfy with a movie or something..." There was a pause, "If you want to stay." Ellis chewed on his lower lip for a moment and glanced down and away, like he was hesitant to give them an out, "Don't feel pressure to stay over. But if you do I'll make you breakfast. But you don't have to. You guys already helped with Mattie and that's why you're here and... Yeah. Cream is in the fridge and there's sugar and honey in those little glass things," Ellis nodded towards little containers beside the coffee maker against the wall before he started making food things. At the very least he'd be making himself breakfast.

"Huh," Sullivan watched V move around awkwardly, kept playing with ... Their... fingers. He looked across the room to the Imogen character and... Eh. Sulli wasn't impressed. Sure the guy had a lot of money and did a lot of stuff but...

His eyes snapped to V when he was asked about his promotion and Sullivan blushed slightly. A strange reaction to the question but he wasn't used to being talked to by pretty robots. "New duties?" Sullivan shrugged and glanced away, giving a shrug and rolling his shoulders.

"I guess this is a new duty," Sulli stated, looking around the room before eyeing V again, taking in the image of the person that had all but saved his brother. "A nice sort of day off before I get sent out again," Sullivan chuckled and shrugged. It was awkward now and he wasn't sure what there was to do or talk about.

"I'd be okay if I got to do more of this stuff," Sullivan looked around before eyeing a glass of champagne and wishing he could drink. He'd go out for drinks after, he decided. Whenever this event ended. "This is much more relaxing than washing spider guts off of my helmet," He said smiling softly before glancing away, "Are you one of those cool robots that can lift trucks and stuff?"

Ellis was oblivious.

He glanced over his shoulder at Jonesy, smile bright and happy and ignoring at strange undercurrents he felt in the air between the two. Some unspoken language he didn't speak and therefore, didn't really bother paying attention to. He rose to his knees carefully, aware that the position he was in and if the towel gave way it'd be a rather inappropriate full moon for his boss. Sure he was just Jonesy right now, and nudity was one thing, but having it all just... Spread open... That was for bedroom things and Jonesy wasn't into that with him.

As far as he could tell.

Still, in a place like Aedolis and with the kind of person Ellis was, nudity wasn't a big deal and so once he was standing he wandered over to his dresser and just dropped his towel. He and Joan had slept with one another almost frequently at this point and while he was sure Jonesy had never seen him naked... He was a man too, which meant he probably had all the same parts or was at least familiar with them.

He pulled his clothing on unhurriedly, not bothering to angle his body away or do anything he wouldn't normally do for the benefit of his unwilling audience. They were in his room. First Ellis pulled on his underwear - a pair of forest green boxer briefs- then his loose comfy pajama bottoms as he had no plans to leave his kitty or her babies, and finally a not as loose tank top. Ellis gave a leisurely stretch and smiled down at the kittens before he looked at his blankets and then at the kitchen.

"Jonesy?" Ellis asked, eyes on the floor, his hair was still wet and droplets gently drifted their way down his neck to make his shirt wet, "I can't think of any good names for the little one that..." He frowned again and looked at the seven remaining babies that were needy and full of life, "You know lots of stuff and you're smart. Could you name it for me? I... I don't want it to not have a name," Ellis shuffled slightly uncomfortably, looking awkward and unsure of himself.

"Seems kinda cruel, yeah? To send it on its way with no name? I dunno, you don't have to, I just..." Ellis smiled and shook his head before he sat back down on his mattress, disliking that it was sheet-free before he shuffled his bum to sit on the floor in front of the kittens. "Are either of you hungry? I can make breakfast once we get that into the wash or the fire or something."

Gently pushed to the shower, Ellis meandered in and did... Well. Shower things.

Though, Ellis undressed before he started the shower. Paused to look at himself in the mirror. Caress his tattoo at his throat before he looked down at the tentacles around his arms. Was it his fault the kitten died? Ellis sighed, glanced down and away. He'd forgotten about Mattie the day prior and he felt guilt about that.

Did he neglect her in some way that... Made it die? He rolled his shoulders and stuck his hand into the spray to make sure it was hot enough. Hot enough to scald skin. Hot enough to leave him pink.  Ellis never spent too much time in the shower and he was done and out quickly, though he spent a few minutes in there just... Staring at his fogged self in the mirror.

Or at himself in the foggy mirror.

Ellis sighed and grabbed a towel, leaving his briefs on the bathroom floor and getting rid of most of the water off of himself. It wasn't like Joan had never seen him naked before and all his clothing was in his room. He tied the towel around his waist and made his way back to his room, hair still wet and clinging to his face or trying it's best to curl up. He spotted Joan on the floor and the kittens and Mattie moved.

So he joined her.

He hunkered down beside her, propped his head onto a hand and just... Watched.

"So," Ellis said, giving a soft sigh and closing his eyes, "Do you want a kitten? I don't think I can be a catmom to 8 cats. Two maybe. 8 is six too many."

Jonah? Who was Jonah?

Ellis squinted at Joan for a moment before he remembered that Jonah was Jonesy. Did he prefer Jonah? His little lizard mind forgot about the kitten and how sad he was for a few moments while he tried to ponder out if Jonesy liked Jonah or if Joan was just calling him that because she was angry at him for something. He hadn't been Amaryllis Melledy yet but he was sure it was over due.

While he'd been staring off into space, his vision fixed itsself and he looked at Joan, looked at how sad she was and remembered.  "I'm sure he will," Ellis said softly, looking at Joan before he cupped her cheek and turned his head to catch the corners of their lips together. He'd always liked lip-kisses more than cheek kisses but now was neither the time nor the place for actual kisses.

Well, it was the perfect place - he lived here - but it wasn't the time. It wasn't what Joan was here to do. Ellis gathered her up in his arms, nuzzling the top of her head for a moment before he pulled away, and wandered back to the bedroom while she was rambling about a box for Antimatter. He gathered his shirt, decided it was ruined and held it out for the kitten. Gently he scooped the kitten from Joan's hands and carefully folded it into his shirt before walking over to the freeze and placing it in.

The freezer was empty so there was plenty of room for it.

"Mattie is ..." Ellis tried to smile before he went back over to Joan and curled his arms around her and smooshed his cheek to the side of her head. "There are seven babies. I didn't even realize she wasn't just fat." He paused and looked a little disappointed before pulling away, "aww, she won't be fat anymore."

He smiled again before he squeezed Joan's shoulders and took a step away, "Can you take care of them while I shower? I still feel cat goo on my chest."

There Ellis stood.

Cradling a baby kitten in his palm and stroking its back gently with the knuckle of his other hand. He jolted slightly at Joan and he couldn't keep his face from crumpling up ever so slightly. It would be okay.

"This one didn't make it," he said sadly, stepping out of his room and into the same room as Joan. He hadn't bothered getting dressed and being ashamed of himself (or anything really) wasn't something he did.

"The other ones are fine. Theyre on my bed with Mattie but..." He extended his hand to show Joan the tiny kitten, "What do I name this one? and... and where do I put it?" He made a face and his eyes drifted into the kitchen,  "The freezer?"

The sounds Ellis woke up to were a little odd.

A strange piping 'ee' and weird wet noises. The dream was weird, there were wiggling monsters on his chest. Water. A weird smell.  Ellis woke with a start, eyes snapping open. The piping little 'ee' noises were louder and he looked down at himself. There weren't any cats on him but damn was he covered in yuck. Quickly he stripped his shirt off and put it on the bedspread, which was much worse off.

He sat up, pushed a hand through his hair and glanced around. It didn't take a lot of observation before he spotted Mattie beside him, curled up with seven mewling babies that looked just as ugly as her. More so even.  Ellis chewed on his lip and leaned over to glance at them before he whipped his com out. Still tired from having just woke up, he typed in some nonsense about Mattie having exploded.

A lot of the dumb shit he said was for giggles. Ellis knew Mattie had spat out kittens. They were right there. Sort of like how he knew Dragons ruled Aedolis and how his hair was a shimmery lavendery-silver colour. Ellis dragged a finger along Mattie's spine and she twitched an ear and looked up at him, big orange eyes before she closed them and the purring picked up. Joan was on her way, which was good, Jonesy was by with gloves - for some reason. Ellis moved to shimmy out of the bed, when his thigh bumped up against something cold and small.

Ellis looked away from Mattie and her babies and looked to the cold small thing.

Apparently there had been eight babies.

His eyebrows drew up and gently, Ellis scooped up the kitten in his hand. So tiny. Mattie had cleaned it so he guessed it had been alive for a little while. Carefully, he climbed out of bed, standing up in little more than his boxer briefs  now that he'd removed his shirt. His finger trailed the little face, examined the little paws.

"Why did you die?" He whispered to the tiny kitten, looking at Mattie before he sighed and looked down sadly at the baby. There were lots of living ones. But this one...

"You can be called..." Ellis gently touched the baby's cheek and sighed sadly, he looked out the open bedroom door, where it looked out into the kitchen and at the cheerful happy daisy's there. Something happy. "I don't know," He ground out, frustrated at himself. He couldn't think of a happy name for the little baby.

"I'll think of something beautiful for you, Baby Kitten," He touched is cheek again and stood there, waiting for Joan to let  herself in because maybe she knew more about this kitten stuff than he did.  "Maybe Joan or Jonesy will have a good name for you," he whispered, not really sure how to feel right now.  Mattie on the bed, was content, purring and nursing her other seven babies.

While there's a distinct pinky undertone, he has a few hinted smears of blue and yellows on his skin, particularly his upper lip and eyes. His hair is a pastel teal and it falls down to his waist. Tide is a dainty thin person, though if someone were to think he was weak from it they would be sorely mistaken. There was always a few fleeting moments during the day when Ellis was genuinely glad he couldn't experience bone chilling fear. He knew at one point he could - everyone could- and then there had been an accident and then after that... Everything was just kind of different. Like losing a limb. Either you lay down and give up or you learn how to work with what you have left, even if it's a little wobbly. Ellis cradled Joan against him while she flailed. Grunted in pain when her elbow connected with his side and did his best to steady his wheezing after the blow knocked the wind from him.

Still, his heart rate didn't pick up and he just stayed. Controlled. Calm. Ellis could be what Joan needed him to be and right now it was a calm steady rock. He escorted her to the corner, feeling bad when he watched her ball up because he couldn't help anymore. He left her there, coloured in fear - the whole room was just saturated in it and Ellis couldn't understand why. He had to get Jonesy into a corner or something. Once he gave Joan a weary thumbs up, he rubbed his side and glanced at his arm, aware that it hurt but not being able to do much more of it because Jonesy was crawling across the fucking floor. Shaking like a leaf.

"Hey," Ellis said, kneeling down and placing a on the back of Jonesy's neck. That was supposed to be a comforting place right? What he hadn't been anticipating was the wholly violent reaction to the touch. Ellis gasped loudly and winced when hands were on his arms and nails were digging in. He'd only worn civvies today since it was just supposed to be general clean up, so it wasn't a surprise when blood welled easily from the scratches.

Not really knowing what else to do, he did to Jonesy what he'd done to Joan. Joan had calmed down, right? Sure it took a little bit but she calmed down. "Jonesy!" Ellis said, voice picked up and he bent over the other man, catching his arms in his at the wrist to hold them away. So he couldn't claw. It was a strange fight to sort of noodle his way around someone flailing, but Ellis decided if he used himself as a brace of sorts, Jonesy couldn't accidentally break his arm smashing it against a wall.

Once he'd managed to grab hold of Jonesy's wrists from behind, the other mans back plastered to his chest and his legs curled around. He had Jonesy firmly in his grasp, safe, at least from flailing accidents. Ellis chanted softly to himself, a mantra of 'it's okay' with his face tucked in behind Jonesys ear, head turned so he didn't smash their oxygen masks. Ellis didn't have a clue what Jonesy was going through. Didn't have the faintest idea of what he was seeing instead of the ceiling of the room they were in.

Whatever it was though, caused him to give a good jerk and Ellis grunted loudly, letting out a hot pained wheeze when he heard the dull meaty sound of bone snapping. The canister had damaged his arm but the struggle to hold Jonesy was too much. Still, he had to keep Jonesy here and safe. Maybe not compliant but not dangerous. The medical units would be by once the room was vented and they'd be sedated and everything would be fine.

"I've got you,"

Ellis said, voice low from pain before he turned back to his mantra of, 'it's okay'. Eyes squeezed shut so he didn't scream from the continued pressure of broken bone and flesh. Face turned away, he didn't see when the medical team finally came in, masks on just in case.

Maybe trying to comfort them had been a bad idea, Ellis considered, because now he had a broken arm and who knows what other torso damage.  Ah well. Shitty bonding moments were still bonding moments or something.

Sulli, having ignored his job now for a decent length of time continued to do so. Watching V and smiling softly, head tilted while the robot-android-guy-girl-thing spoke. The hand going through a hologram was a little alarming but he was a trained soldier, which meant that he was at least somewhat decent at hiding any surprise. Quickly the shock was masked and he blinked a few times and just... Observed.

The words filtered in and he tucked a bunch of them away for processing later, because 'while he gets better' alarmed Sullivan all the same. Though of course, V's quick thinking tucked that away and the human blinked in surprise again, eyes wide while a slow smile pulled across his (or so he thought) handsome face. "Your first friend?"

Sullivan leaned back slightly, arms crossing over his chest while he squinted and tried to keep that handsome smile in check. "Desi. My Desi? Your first friend." Sullivan couldn't really imagine it. Neither of them had been the most extroverted of people growing up and while Sulli could fake it, he knew Desi was in and out and Work Extroverted.

Going out and being someone's friend though? Sulli was quietly suspicious, chewing on his lip for a moment while he pondered and watched V. "That seems about right. He isn't the most friendly but he likes quiet people well enough... So, what's got you at this venue? You a guest or ... Following help? You came with the Imogen guy, right?" Sulli nodded in whatever direction to indicate 'over there'. "How's the work? Intense?"

It would occur to Ellis that his next choice of words, "Oh, yeah, Everything is fine," were probably the singular most incorrect words for the coming situation. Ellis held his hurt arm to his chest for a moment, not enjoying the dull throb that shot over his forearm in the least. His eyes felt crusty and he licked his lips, making a noise before spitting off to the side. Eugh, he was just fuckin' covered in the weird gas stuff. He'd need several showers and --

Ellis jerked his head up, mind pulled away from his Dull-Throb Arm and looked at the spectacle of Joan trying to force an oxygen mask over Jonesy's face and... Oh right. He flipped into high gear, rushing over about the same moment a cold sweat was on his back and he just felt sick to his stomach. Eugh, it was like he was reading on the rail but also looking out the window and just... Motion sick. Ellis swallowed thickly before he moved forward, picking up a tossed oxygen mask and pulling it over his head because, oh shit, the colour blue was maybe tasting a bit like grapes right now.

The emergency showers weren't in here, so dragging them to get washed was out of the question. Ellis wasn't sure who to try to help first. Joan was an empath. She'd feel all the stuff but Jonesy was also an empath who projected it.

Which meant Joan would be getting a double whammy from Jonesy. Stuff he was shooting out like barbed wire and the stuff he was clearly feeling. Ellis thought for a brief moment that he'd be happy to switch with one of them. He just felt a little dizzy and a little sick. Still, Ellis did his best to dust off his clothes before he squatted down behind Joan and gently took her hands in his. "Joan," Ellis said, his voice sturdy.

He squeezed her hands in an attempt to comfort and shuffled in behind her. Ellis didn't know but he knew Jonesy would be violent. Far more violent than Joan. Which was why he had to shuffle her away.

"Joan," Ellis said, his voice relatively normal. Calm. "Listen to my voice, okay? I'm going to sit behind you and I want you to relax." He did as he said he would, shuffling behind her, one leg on either side of hers, smoothing his hands over her arms and pressing his chest to her back. "Feel my heartbeat, okay? Ignore Jonesy. It's just you and me in the room. I want you to take slow breaths with me," Ellis tried to remember what Jonesy had instructed him to do when his heart was beating too fast and he couldn't take any breaths deep enough for it to count as getting oxygen.

Also the empathy thing. Ellis did the only thing he could think of doing. He held Joan tight, his head tucked beside hers, eyes on Jonesy who looked just fucking terrified. "When you catch your breath, I want you to go to the other side of the room," Ellis paused to do another few seconds of the breathing. His own pulse was slow and lazy, like it was any other day. What was the point of panicking? No point.

Sure his arm hurt but it'd heal fine.

"Maybe if I'm between you and Ghostboss it'll be a buffer? I'll try thinking of puppies and kittens and and fun things, okay?" Ellis wished for a brief moment that maybe he was better at reading minds and seeing into them or something. See what everyone was so absolutely terrified, but he knew he probably wouldn't have understood why. Knew that he was always going to be a little odd that way.

"I'm worried Jonesy is going to hurt you or himself, so I'm going to restrain him until medical can get into the door after the room has been decontaminated. Shouldn't be long now," Ellis slowly moved to sit up, one arm around Joan's middle and the other over her shoulders to help her up and shuffle her to the other side of the room, glancing over his shoulder at the person he'd probably have to koala backpack. They were about the same size. "Jonesy," Maybe his voice would be nice? Sorta? Explain what was going on? "I'm going to take Joan to the other side of the room and then I'm going to help you okay? We can taste the grass of the walls while we wait and holy shit, beige tastes exactly like old person butterscotch, who'da thunk?" Pleasantly surprised at the revelation, he perked a strangely pleased smile to Joan while he helped her across the room.

This was fiiiine. They'd be fine. Ellis smoothed a hand up and down Joan's arm and glanced back at Jonesy. Ellis watched him for a moment, eyes focusing before he snapped back to attention. Jonesy had a flavour too and it tasted oddly like what Ellis would picture fear to taste like. Sorta like cilantro. Eugh.

Met him in a chat room?

Sulli frowned gently, eyebrows going up and creasing his forehead. Concern clear on his face. Sullivan didn't keep tabs on his brother, knowing that he'd have hated it. Sullivan also had assumed that his beloved sibling would have come to him for help, which incidentally, seem to not be the case at all.

The robot doing robot stuff was pretty cute and Sullivan smiled all the same at how shy and cute it was acting. Weird for a robot but endearing none the less. Sullivan glanced around the room, eyes peeled for any ne're-do-wells. Then, of course, his attention was grabbed again and he just looked at the robot. Droid? Android? Sullivan could never remember the difference. What was the difference between a robot and an android?

"Well, thank you for helping my brother. I guess Desmond is more proud than I gave him credit for. No offense but looking for help in a chatroom is last place I expected to hear about any of that." Sullivan reached forward and caught the android's elbow in a very brief caress, offering a quick smile. "What did you say your name was again? You realize, helping out my twin makes you and I practically family."

Sulli was kidding, sort of. His duty was long forgotten and all he could really think about was his brother now, which was terrible of him, sure, but gods know sometimes Desmond got it rough. Even then, who could take care of someone who didn't want to be taken care of? The few times Sullivan had offered money or to pay for his groceries he'd been shot down and the last thing he wanted to do was overstep any boundaries Desmond put up. "How's he doin'?" Sullivan said, party long forgotten now, "Keeping good care of him?"

Oh shit, Candy!

Ellis grinned at Joan before he opened magical flying candybar and popped it in his mouth. He'd finished cleaning two canisters already and was onto the third  As instructed he'd taken the antidote and after finishing off the candybar, returned to work.

Being compared to a happy inflatable tube was accurate. If the motor was on in any capacity, arms were waving and there's a somewhat doofy look on his face. Easy to please and happy to help, Ellis checked over canister three, looking up and over at Jonesy, glancing to the side at Joan.  Ellis smiled to his squadmate before going through the first parts of the safety check.

When he joined the Scorpions they were as cold and as distant as their tactics. Further even. The only time he saw them was drills. There wasn't much in the way of team building beyond knowing a name and a face. Ellis glanced at Jonesy, frowning at the Lead curiously, ignoring the gentle hiss his cloth made against the canister in his lap.

It had been a spur of the moment. One second Ellis is bad mouthing his squad and then there was the familiar unfamiliar name in the chat. And then it was over for Jonesy. Joan and Ellis on the case, annoy Ghostboss until he liked them. Ellis turned his head down, still smiling, though it quickly and suddenly went away.

The hissing wasn't from the cloth.

"Fu-!" Ellis yelped loudly and tried to jolt away, which he'd managed to do for the most part. There would be a bruise on his arm, later. The hissing was a leak from a container and a metal seem violently exploded out. At least aside from his bruised forearm he was fine. Ellis frowned and crawled over to the destroyed peice of equipment.

"Well shit," Ellis picked it up and shook it. Not super keen on what would it be like if he hadn't taken the anti-thingy-ma-bob. Ellis sighed and stood up, rubbing his sore forearm and rotating his shoulder.

Going to Joansy seemed like the logical choice - Its unlikely a container like this has exploded for Joan. "JonesyBoss?" Ellis started, holding the broken pack in his arms, "How exactly do we write this off? Also this wasn't my fault, I was totally paying attention to what I was doing." He paused and smiled hesitantly, like he was waiting to be called out for somenthing.

Whoa. It was like a real people.

Sullivan was distracted by listening to the droid - apparently not robot - talk. He just watched,  a little enchanted, eyes moving up and down its body and escourting it back inside while it tried to make small talk.  A little preoccupied.

"Thank you, took a lot of work but..." Sulli shrugged and then gave a long pause while he scanned the room. It had been good few minutes since the droid spokr and he could only pause and stare and his mouth fell open.

"Desi?" Sullivan reached up to touch his own face, "You know Desi?" He gave a surprised laugh and looked equal parts surprised and disbelieving. "Usually people mistake Desi for Sulli. Not the other way around. Wow." Sullivans duty was forgotten with the mention of his twin, eyes bright and he smiled brightly at the droid.

"How do you know my brother? And you can't take it back and pretend you don't. Only people he likes get to call him Desi," Sullivan pointed at the droid, arm close to his body to keep it as incognito as possible - which failed of course.

Hurray. Guard detail.

Sullivan sighed and closed his eyes while he rolled them so he wouldn't get caught doing it.

It was a big fancy event and Pilots weren't the main guests, at least the ones not attached to powerful family names. Sullivan was one such Pilot. Freshly minted Pilot Noble, he was nothing overly special and was just here for one job. Keep eyes open, destroy any threads, look handsome.

Well, he could do all that. He kept decent watch, parked by the balcony doors to watch the comings and goings of every which person. Usually the beginnings of these were outright boring. Before everyone got drunk and high and had some sort of pseudo-fun. Sullivan sighed and closed his eyes again, hands clasped behind his back and his feet shoulder width apart. He was ordered to dye over the rainbow dyed side of his head but... He'd 'forgotten'. It helped remind him that he wasn't alone in this. Helped remind him who got him through everything up til now.

He should call Desmond when he was finished this job. Sulli glanced off to the side for a moment, spotting a strange looking person encased in ... Oh shit that was a robot.

Sullivan had always found AI interesting. He didn't fancy himself smart enough to understand any of it but it was still cool and he found himself forgetting where he was for a moment. Watched the robot-person breeze past him to go outside. Which was suspicious right? Which meant he should discreetly follow the robot person, right?

Right!

A glance around, eye contact with another Pilot across the room, Sullivan turned around slightly to follow the robot outside, watching for a moment. Probably creepily so. It was so... Human looking. Sullivan blinked and turned away for a moment, looking back into the room before he decided... Fuck it, he was a Pilot.

"Hello?" Sullivan said, his voice raspy from disuse for the past few hours while the party was getting set up and the people had started to filter in. "Hi, Sullivan Riviera, Pilot Noble" he moved to stand beside the robot, offering a quick little smile and standing beside it, motioning to the rank indicator on his uniform.

"You know, if you're out here you're going to need a guard. If you're a guest there may be someone watching and you may come to harm. I'll need to ask you to go inside or ... Deal with me hovering - for your protection." The usual spiel, though it felt weird saying it to... A Robot.

__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF

PHYSICAL
Sulli is perfectly average. He isn't overly tall, he isn't incredibly slim. He has a slim nose, a square jaw and defined cheek bones but is, otherwise, perfectly forgettable. His hair is shorter, with a spark of dyed rainbow hair around his right ear and along the side of his head. Kind olive green eyes and a more coppery skintone. Not obscenely muscular but not waify. When he isn't in his uniform, he general enjoys heavily clothing and has a strange fondness for sweaters with some sort of printed cartoon on them

PERSONALITY
A little no non-sense. Sulli wants answers now instead of later and has trouble with being able to wait. He's quick, on the ball, a go-getter and isn't afraid of being blunt (outwardly friendly he'll tell you). Sulli is hardworker and good at relaxing. He's the perfect person to be around when you want to hang out but do nothing.

ABILITIES
There's the usual Pilot fanfare, fighting, weaponry.

Telepathy is moderate. But, unlike most Pilots who have some neat special ability, Sullivan's is just...

Telekinesis - Except it's bad ass. Instead of simple being able to move objects, Sullivan can make focal points which draw objects to it. Not a gravity point, but close to it. It's intense and scary and he's usually sent out on solo jobs for it. If he isn't tired, he can keep it up for Too Long with maybe needed to rest the next day with lots of water.

RELATIONSHIPS
He has a twin brother, Desmond. Where Sulli is a Pilot, Desi is in fact a reflectionist. They don't talk often but Sullivan loves his brother and would do anything for him

HISTORY
totally s one. It was probably super normal until one child was a Pilot and the other was Instant Outcast.

Normally Julian didn't pay much attention to people.

At least, not when he wasn't at work. Today though, was different. It was rare that he stopped anywhere when he was going from A to B. There was a gnawing at his stomach though from skipped meals and he felt drawn to this particular place. He'd been past it enough times - glanced in and contemplated maybe going in someday. Today was that someday though, it seemed and he waited patiently in line for his turn. A cup of coffee that he was going to turn and doctor and some weird flakey breakfast pastry with 'cherry and cheese' whatever.

Julian had never been much of a connoisseur of baked goods. He glanced back to what it was called so he didnt just call it the 'cherry and cheese bullshit' and glanced at the person directly in front of him in the line. A small pale thing. Well, hardly small. Julian pushed his thick red braid over his shoulder and eavesdropped on the person ahead of him. Cheese cake. Lemon tart. Julian chewed on his lower lip for a moment, glancing at the person drift away. There was a bone deep concern and he watched the pale person leave, frowning gently before he got an impatient "Can I help you? " from the cashier.

Clearing his throat, he turned back to the worker and ordered his danish and coffee, adding cream and sugar messily, leaving a small puddle of coffee on the counter before he tucked the danish in it's little paper bag in his pocket and rushed from the cafe. The feeling in his gut wasn't hunger now. That person seemed... Off. Listless. Julian was hardly an open fuzzy person but being around them... He sighed and glanced up, bringing his coffee to his mouth and taking a drink, frowning that he'd missed the waify little thing.

Of course, the shrill cry just made Julian jolt. Instinctively his fist clenched, crushing the paper cup in a second and making the lid fall down. He didn't care though. Didn't care that he had coffee all down his front because that was not a 'hurray surprise' scream or a 'you spooked me' scream. That was deep rooted terror and Julian had heard enough of them over the years of service to know that if he left it for a few seconds there would potentially be something much worse than potential kidnapping at hand.

Julian ran. Ran to where he'd heard the scream, almost running past the alley. There was a strange sound he'd never heard before that led him exactly to where he needed to go and while it made his ears itchy, he followed it. Ignored the itch. He caught the tail end of whatever the brute was saying. Snow White Queen. Julian wasn't quite fast enough to keep further physical harm from happening but he'd brought his com to his ear and swiftly called for back up, voice low before he finally stepped foot into the alley.

He was weaponless. Sort of. A few steps and it felt like ice had entered his veins. Beautiful babies again. Julian sucked in a breath, tilting his head and listening for the sounds of rushing footsteps. The potential of being stabbed or shot was high but...Julian ran in, stopping short before kicking the man in the side of the head with the flat of his boot. Enough to hopefully daze or dizzy. Just as quickly, he curled his arms around Bibi's? Was that their name? Upper arm and dragged him just a bit farther away. "You're interfering with a Libran citizen," Julian said, flushed and near trembling with anger. He wasn't entirely unimposing. Tall and slim, long dark red hair to his elbows and a scar decorated his face and made him an effective cyclops.

"You're safe. Back up is on the way, I need you to cooperate with me and remain behind me, okay?" Julian kneeled while Bibi(?) was on the ground recovering, an arm out protectively glancing behind himself at the small blue-ish elf-thing. "If you feel someone grab you from behind, don't panic. I'll keep you safe."

There was a favourite thing of Cinnamon's and it was Soba's face lit up with pleasure. He rocked Soba through his second orgasm, growl rumbling in his throat, fingers gripping hips moving down to hold thighs. "Soba," He panted, voice shaky, giving a tremble when he was rolled over onto his back. He shook his hair from his face and Cinnamon let his Soba rock above him, his eyes fluttered closed and mouth falling open. He set his feet into the bed to stead himself, fingers dragging up and down Soba's torso.

His golden eyes opened again, his lower lip between his teeth. Seeing Soba mouth the words 'mine' and then finally hearing it had his ears twitch and his thighs twitch. He rocked his hips harder against Soba, feeling him and needing him on a strange bestial level. Cinnamon growled lowly, grunting with each thrust up on his near frantic pursuit to finishing. Pupils slitted, mouth open to pant, Cinnamon stared at Soba's mouth with hungry eyes and he gave a punched-out shout when he finally came. He held Soba tight to him, giving a few final thrusts up before he sat up, plastering their chests together and resting his cheek to Soba's chest.

Cinnamon groaned again, rocking his hips for a few moments before finally calming down, mouthing at Soba's collarbone. He purred, nuzzling and kissing at his lover's shoulder before he moved his hands slowly up and down Soba's back while he caught his breath and calmed. Pounding heart slowly going back to normal gentle thumps. "I love you," He breathed finally, voice a sweet rumble against Soba's throat before he groaned softly and gently guided them onto their sides. Cinnamon stayed for a moment, pressing his lips to Soba's in a gentle lingering kiss before he pulled away with a soft sigh.

"Hang on a second," He whispered, giving another quick kiss and wandering away, tail lazily waving behind him. Cinnamon returned with a cloth a few minutes later, already cleaned up himself, body cleaned up from the mess of lovemaking. Though he paused and groaned softly when he saw Soba again, he breathed deeply and closed his eyes for a moment before moving back to the bed to clean up his lover. Pressing the cloth over him carefully before tossing it into the laundry bin in the corner of the room. A little more manhandling, Cinnamon crawled over Soba on the bed and curled around his back, tucking his knees up behind Soba's and pressing a kiss to the back of his human lover's head.

"Hm," Cinna mumbled through a content purr, "I think I meant to talk more about something," He paused for a minute, lazily drawing his hand up and down the human's side, nails dragging just enough to cause goosebumps. Cinna hummed and haw'd, making sure his grumbles and growls vibrated through his chest to Soba's back before he remembered. "I owe you dinner," He murmured, "Do you want dinner, Love? Did we work up an appetite?" he lifted his head to rest his head on Soba's, curling a hand around to rest on his stomach, enjoying how cool Soba's flesh felt against the heat of his hand, "Are we a better colour now?"
