Worlds Apart (Solo-Oneshot)

Standing at the edge of one of many terraces that climbed the mountain housing - and covered by - Travica, there was a man who could only be defined by one word...or, well, maybe two.

One: Big.

Two? Monster.

But was he a monster? Lately, the big man didn't think so, not anymore. There was one very special person that had finally shown him that he was different, that he himself was special, and in a very special way. Because he was...or, had been at least...special to her.

And he missed her, so very much. Life just wasn't the same without her. But they'd agreed, hadn't they? Because he was outside now. Outside of the giant cage, and out into the world. The world that, in essence, was a cage all its own.

Garza was sick of cages...but this one, at least, was much, much roomier.
But, any cage was worth being in, so long as he was in it with her. But as of now, she wasn't in this cage...she was still in the old cage. The ATC. Working hard, excelling. He was sure of it. She'd be out soon. But, in the end, would it matter? The girl he loved would be free, would be a Pilot like he was now, but they were separate. That....that had been the agreement. To cut off, and move on. Not to wait and torture themselves, but to move. On.

Garza was absolutely terrible at moving on. He'd tried, he really had. He'd been on dates, at least with those few who could get past his giantesque and monstrous appearance, but never would go past the first one. Nobody clicked, nobody gave him that feeling, that curiosity, that excitement.

Two massive gray fists gripped the railing, an equally massive body leaning over it to peer down into the commercial district below him. He heaved a sigh, as he glanced at his watch, taking in the time. 2:21 AM. He hadn't been sleeping, either. Krivhn wouldn't let him take the medicine anymore - he'd been on the verge of addiction to it, and hadn't been getting any of the effects. The tranquilizers did nothing, any more. Nothing did. But he didn't seem to get tired, anymore. Just...bored. And hollow. So, very hollow.

He could only hope she was doing well. She'd be out soon, he knew she would. Just a bit longer.

"I miss you, Tink...." he rumbled, his words disappearing into rising steam. His eyes, great and red, stared into it as it wisped away. He chased it with another cloud as he sighed, and turned away. Drill was in four hours. And the gym was open for twenty four hours. Garza could only imagine what he could get up to before then.
